“March 2024Following a show at Aztec, it made perfect sense to return here with my wife and parents. They never disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, always very friendly staff, and beautiful food. I enjoyed the lobster bisque but was especially blown away by the lobster pasta. Wandering Vine’s chef is truly creative and I greatly admire her colorful original plating.June 2023My parents enjoyed Wandering Vine so much that we were all excited to go back when they were in town over the weekend. Funny enough, we ate at the same table where we sat last time. This place certainly has a unique charm to it, with a nice atmosphere that you won't quite find anywhere else. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and our service was wonderful. I had the braised lamb shoulder pasta. It was cooked to perfection and the flavors were fantastic. The toasted pine nuts were a nice touch. The only thing I would have changed is substituting the edamame for something else. It added nice color, but it was a little too much crunch for my taste. My wife had the special, which was goat cheese cavatelli pasta with crab meat. Absolutely delicious. My dad enjoyed the filet mignon and we all enjoyed our wine flights--one of my favorite things about this restaurant. Mine included wines from Argentina, France, and Washington. We didn't save room for dessert, but we did get a taste of the gazpacho, which was very flavorful with a nice kick to it. They are rotating their menu in a few weeks, so definitely reason to return.Feb. 2023Had dinner here with my wife and parents and we LOVED it. “Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. “I went for Sunday brunch and everything was spectacular. I shared the esquites, queso fundido, and ceviche, and for my entree I had the chilaquiles. For dessert, we shared the arroz con leche, and I would recommend everything on that list. Drinks were tasty and refreshing, and the service was excellent. 100% you should eat at this restaurant, Roman creates excellent dishes and takes his time to plate the food beautifully. You can tell he cares about his food, restaurant, and customers.“

“This is a super cool book bar. My book club meets here once a month (make sure to make a reservation for large groups as seating is limited). They have a large cocktail and cocktail menu (both are delicious)! This is primarily a drinks bar, food is limited to a few prepackaged snacks. You can also buy some of your fav books here. For parking, I would recommend the garage next door. It has reasonable prices and always has lots of spaces and it adjacent to Afterword.“

“I wish I could give this place 6 stars. They deserve it. Me and the wife tried the one down in Dallas and loved it so when we found out there was one closer. We wanted to try it too, and today was the day. They was extremely flexible with our reservation (originally made for 730, they us change it to 6.)The server was great, friendly and professional and made awesome suggestions.The manager came out to let us know that one of the meals was over done, so it was going to be a few more minutes, and offered us free salads or soups.My wife had the lamb, which we both would recommend 100% I had the filet this time which was equally good. I had the Asparagus soup, which reminded me of a richer broccoli and cheese soup. We also had the Ahi Tartare, normally not my thing, but wanted to try something different, it didn't disappoint, if you like Ahi, I'd recommend.“

“I came here on a Friday evening for drinks and appetizers. We each ordered a wine flight and shared the bruschetta. Every flight had a creative name and description. For example, the vegan white wine flight I ordered was called "No Eggshells". All three wines were refreshing and delicious. I do have to say that the wine flights are on the pricey side, ranging from $25-$50. However, it is a great way to try a variety of wines. You could also order a bottle of wine to share that would be about the same price. The bruschetta was tasty; we were able to choose three different toppings. We chose the smoked salmon, classic tomato, and burrata with honey. Overall, this is a nice spot to meet up with some girlfriends or for a date night. The seating is comfortable, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the wine and appetizers are good.“

“Small cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service. We had a dinner for our group of 22 and everyone was happy with the choice. My sea bass was exquisite, for appetizers we had bruschetta and chipotle black bean dip. Delicious! I would have preferred the bruschetta with raw tomatoes (not cooked) and more basil taste, but it was good. Great culinary experience!“
