“We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
“We came for dinner as a family of four adults. We were seated outdoors which was really beautiful. Our waiter, Hunter was fantastic offering suggestions and great tips for first time visitors to NOLA. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Would recommend.Vegetarian of our party were vegetarian. Our waiter suggested a vegetable plate which was really nice! We also had the ravioli which were good but not great.“
“We just got to New Orleans and decided to stop into Sofia for some food and drinks. Our server Tiberius was amazing, we felt taken care of the entire time. The pizza here is to die for, the gluten free crust is the best we have ever had. 10/10 recommend coming in here and if you want great service ask for Tiberius ?“
“Incredible food. Most dishes are appropriately small so it encourages sharing and a family-style approach. Pizzas are really something else and the pastas are to die for. Really great choices in wines, and although the price tags arent low, it is worth it.“
“Quintessential New Orleans on a residential strip of Canal Street. Casual, huge portions, family atmosphere. Big groups go to a plain dining room, but smaller parties sit in the big, interestingly decorated main salon. Can get loud after 7. Daquan (sic) was excellent.“
“My colleagues (5 of us) and I had a great meal here. We came by on a Sunday night at 8pm and we were able to sit immediately. The Jungle Bird cocktail was delicious, as were the pizzas we tried. The dough was perfectly chewy and charred. We had a lemon dessert that was delicious The hazelnut dessert stole the show, so creamy and rich.“
“Tony Mandina's has been around for a long time. There is a reason for it. It is still a friendly family owned restaurant. Any restaurant with the owner's sitting at the table in the front with a welcoming smile and under their watchful eye is has great chance of being great.“
“While riding the street car, we got a recommendation. We visited on a Saturday for an early dinner, it was already starting to get busy (get a reservation). Great old school generational Italian atmosphere. We ordered a bottle of wine and the Rockefeller Oysters...they were outstanding!! For dinner, we ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the Veal Roberto. Both dishes were excellent!! Very fresh ingredients and well prepared. We saw desserts moving around the restaurant and they looked really good! However, we opted for "liquid dessert" and got an espresso martini and an old fashioned. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent! They do Italian right!!“
“My wife I are New Orleanians. We know good food. The food in this restaurant is exceptionally delicious. The prices are reasonable too and we were greeted and treated with respect and kindness. We rarely eat out anymore because of health reasons so it was a nice outing. Thanks to all who contributed to our dining experience.“
“Amazing food. Had their cannolli and it was freshly made and tested heavenly. Wait time for getting the food was a little long (20 minutes after ordering), but that's the only thing we can complain about really. They do have some vegetarian options.“
“Came in to have a casual dinner with friends. Food was delicious! But our server, Brandon, brought our dining experience to the next level! He was personable, professional and very accommodating. He took care of our every request efficiently and with a pleasant attitude. Brandon is a definitely an asset to Carrabba’s!! Also, big shout out to Blake (manager) for coming over to chat with us and personally inviting us to come back again soon.“
“Stumbled upon this place and so happy we did! We came in as a group of 9 and got pizza and catfish from the joint wing place next door. The bourbon and San Francisco pizzas were delicious (bourbon is my personal favourite) and the workers were super nice and helpful. Catfish from the place next door was so good, and the hush puppies were the best I've ever had.“
“Weekday lunch in this unassuming Italian restaurant. In a strip mall - you'd almost never see it - but apparently well known, because it was reasonably busy, and there was a Barbie themed birthday party going on in the back. So good for groups, and larger than it appears from outside. Claudette was exceptional with keeping our drinks full, updated on our food and giving advice/information as requested. Food came out quickly, not that we were noshing on the great bread provided. Husband had a couple of Maker's Mark drinks ($11 ea), the Daube ($22), which was outstanding, and I'm not a big meat eater, and I opted for the Garlic Butter Pasta (Con Aglio E Burro) ($13) with spinach and cherry tomatoes. I LOVE that you can order the pasta as is, or add your choice of meats. Portions were perfect - almost no leftovers. Added a serving of spumoni ($4) for dessert and we were in and out in about 45 min. Definitely a go-to spot for us in the future.“
“Nice place with lovely, shaded outdoor eating area. Huge 18" pizza. The crust is darn near perfect but if I'm being honest, the flavor was just slightly lacking. I've been to other "ny pizzerias" that had toplings delivered fresh daily and had much more flavor. Couldn't really taste the cheese or toppings. Great sauce and crust thought.“
“First of all the food was insanely good. The pasta was so fresh and the texture was giving handmade in the restaurant with that firm chewiness. I had the Black Pepper Fettucine with the Puttanesca. It actually packed a decent kick and the taste was really good as well. All the ingredients came through in the sauce and it tasted amazing and wasn’t a huge ding on the wallet. Most pleasant part of the night was the worker overhearing it being one of our party’s birthdays. They surprised us with a cute complimentary cannoli which was so thoughtful and kind. The decor inside is also so cute and nerdy/film buff coded. I had a blast at my time at Arabella and I will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Flexible build your own pasta makes it easy to do veggie only!“
“Today with my daughter for the first time I visited this restaurant in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products that are produced in this restaurant by the owner himself and many other workers to prepare to go orders. The quality of the food is Supreme, and the prices are extremely affordable, I could even say cheap.“
“Took my back to living in Biloxi as a kid. Roast beef poboy was loaded up with tender beef, dripping with juice! Huge portion for the price I was so stuffed I could barely finish it, but had to because it was that good. Oh yeah almost forgot the boudin balls they were fried fresh and AMAZING.Robert was so nice and kind to us even though we came in late, and it was such a cool experience to get to hear from him about the shop and how he came to own it. Thanks again! If you are anywhere near here please drive over and stop in, you won't regret it. I am so thankful we found it! Will be back to visit in 2026!!!“
“The best pizza in the entire state!! They offer a BEEF PEPPERONI option that is out of this world; everything they make is PERFECT and DELICIOUS.The owners are very kind, accommodating, and welcoming. This place is my go-to for any pizza! It's a small hole-in-the-wall, very lowkey and enjoyable! If i could only eat at one place for the rest of my life i would choose Milano's Pizza and, trust me, you would too!!“
“I've been meaning to go to Avo since it opened but somehow just never got there. I finally made it over last month! We shared a special bruschetta with salmon and a caesar salad to start; both were great. Then we all opted for pasta as our main with one bolognese and the other two the crab cacio e pepe. The pasta was outstanding and everyone loved their dishes; mine was loaded with crabmeat. We ended our meal with cheesecake, tiramisu and zeppole. I was glad the sauce came on the side of the zeppole so I could dip and retain the crispiness of the pastry. The pistachio ice cream was great too. And my dining companions loved their desserts too. We also had a couple of cocktails and service was great. The whole meal was quite nostalgic for me since I used to eat at this location, long ago when it was another restaurant. Parking is on the street and reservations are recommended.“
“BRICK OVEN PIZZA! I know it says wood fired, but when I searched for “brick oven pizza” in NO, nothing popped up. Absolutely AMAZING seafood pizza. Cannot recommend enough. Would have bought another but had no viable way of getting it back to Dallas. As you can see I ate 1/2 of it before realizing I should take a pic to post. Our waitress Stacy? was very accommodating (as well the chef) as my wife has crazy food allergies and she was able to eat all of her without breaking out. Definitely returning next time I’m in NOLA.“
“The chicken comes out hot and fresh. I mean literally you have to wait 10 minutes for it to cool down. It's so hot but it's very crispy and if you like a little salty batter it's just for you. I have no complaints about the spot. I recommend trying it. Just chicken Was a little saltier than I'm used to but it has been a while. But it's worth checking out. They also have seafood optionsVegetarian options: They have vegetable items that are available as sides“
“The appetizers were a delight! We sampled a bunch, and I'd recommend the boudin spring rolls for sure. The menu could use an update since they don't offer a couple of items that are still listed, but the staff was friendly and patient to explain what they no longer had available. The atmosphere is a bit lackluster, but it's Metairie so I get it. We placed a pick up order, so we were able to wait next door at a local bar; the staff was so nice that they offered to bring the food to us next door when it came out! I'm definitely calling more orders in for pick up in the future ?“
“This has become one of my favorite New Orleans spots during my frequent trips to town.Raven always seems to be my server, and is great!Farrow, the host is part of the show. I like to get a seat in the front row.Lasagna here is on point! Stuffed Mushrooms too!“
“I really wish I could remember our server's name he was fantastic. An average height guy with a pony tail and goatee. Walked in without a reservation and the hostess was super nice and got us a table outside. The waiter was great at explaining the soup of the day and my daughter loves it. It was a beef stew. I got the pollo pizza and my partner got the margarita and they were both on point. I love the crispy crust. Overall a great experience.“
“Sorry, no pictures....Everytime I visit this place, the staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. We ordered an 18in pizza, half meat lovers, and half supreme. 12 wings half garlic butter half sweet chili, I believe. The garlic butter ones were not tasty but wasnt nasty. It was not enough seasoning, just tasted like butter. Had cheese sticks also. FYI, if you are getting pizza, try and order ahead unless you dont mind sitting and waiting at least 30 mins for a regular and 45 to an hour for a deep dish.“
“Great food! But terrible acoustics! Impossible to have a conversation during lunch when we visit unless you sit outsideParking: Good sized public lot across the street and their own lot behind the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to accommodate walkers & wheelchairs.“
“If you love pizza, you gotta come try this place out. Small homestyle local Gio’s is a family-run pizzeria that will redefine your pizza standards. We had a meat pizza in the shop and I took home a Magharitta pizza which my kid loved. We also tried their meatballs and they were bomb ?The pizza crust is thin and crunchy. Most pizzas run at a $20 fee for the same 8-slice pie. What makes or breaks a pizza for me? The crust and tomato sauce. Both here are amazing. The ambiance is homey, order at the counter and pay. The only catch is their operating hours. Make sure they are open when you wanna pop by.“
“Wow. What can I say. 3 times going here. Each time the staff/ownership/management went above and beyond to make my experience amazing. Kindest staff in all of Harahan. And they deliver a terrific product. You must give this place a go!!! Thank me after.“
“First time at the new location and it was great. There were 6 of us and the orders were taken quickly, the food came out quickly, and the service was on point. We had a fried shrimp platter, 2 shrimp poboys, a roast beef poboy, a hot sausage poboy, lasagna and an order of onion rings. All were spectacular! I usually go to the one in Terrytown but would definitely go to this one again.“
“Wonderful pasta dishes. And very cool concept of "build your own". We'll be back to get sauce as take out. What we actually had was the "lasagna". Not really lasagna but wide papardelle with sauce, sausage, and cheese. Yummy. And the lemon shrimp linguini, not strongly flavored but good. The only strange thing was the staff vibe; competent and professional, but cool to the point of cold. It's NOLA, people smile here yall:-)“
“Only open 3 months but you would never know it. The place is beautiful, service was spot on, and the food incredible. It's a Tuscany style restaurant from the same owners as Mopho and Maypop. Highly highly recommend!!Kid-friendliness: They had kids there but only bring them if they are well behaved and are not going to run around. This is a high end place.“
“Things have changed since Many sold the family restaurant, and food quality is still good. However, a few things are no longer on the menu . Miss the veal & seafood topping. Also, it's not as inclusive on sides. But it's still worth a visit .“
“What a great place. We had a large group tonight for a birthday party. Had to split the check 5 different ways with out any complaint from our server. She handled the group like a boss. The was on point and manager got a large group of servers to sing happy birthday. If you are looking for great place that will not break the bank you can’t go wrong here. Great job all around. Leadership, kitchen staff and servers all on point.“
“Let me start with the service is excellent. You're greeted like family. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious but the chips were the star. They were thin and crispy with some Cajun seasoning on them. I had the smothered burger special that was so yummy. The Cajun potatoes and gravy with onions were just perfect!! Hubby had the honey blackened mahi mahi sandwich and it was so good. I highly recommend this little hole in the wall that the tables are full; but, well worth the wait.“
“The Brick Oven Cafe is one of. My favorite restaurants in the entire New Orleans area!! Strictly speaking, it is not in New Orleans but in Kenner on Williams near the airport but it is more than worth a planned stop!! Everything is homemade, mainly Italian but with a definite New Orleans twist. From pasta dishes to incredible desserts- tiramisu and the wedding cake cannoli are to die for, the cuisine is always consistently incredible!! The service manages to be traditional yet very welcoming. And the ambiance is comfortable and inviting. Go and enjoy making a wonderful memory!! The Best!!“
“Hello reader,This spot is my go to for turtle soup, raw, and Bienville oysters, and BBQ shrimp.I been coming here for many years. I do not know anyone that owns this place and I do not work there.I have also had the BBQ shrimp po’boy for lunch a few times it’s ok, because I prefer peeling my shrimp, just a personal preference. I am waiting for them to bring back steak po’boy….Oh, fyi reader when mixing your cocktail sauce for the oysters, use the horseradish sparingly until you get a feel for it as it is very powerful. It’s good, just strong. And some times I get the chocolate mousse, it comes chilled which is awesome. But man, to be honest the deserts are kinda bland. If they made them pop it would be five stars. Which is why I don’t usually get them, but every few years I’ll try one to see if they got better. The service is cool everyone and everything is old school done. The bread is great for dipping in the BBQ shrimp. The gumbo is good, but I get t turtle soup with just a splash of sherry. But y’all don’t have to if you prefer. This only place I eat raw oysters their shucker had been there for decades and is a total pro. They oysters come clean and no bits of shell! They oysters Beinville are awesome. Use the big spoon that come with it.I don’t do the Rockefeller oyster but people who do like them. The shrimp come with shells on for a reason. Wear the paper bib if you don’t know how to peel them or you are wearing fancy clothes. They have plenty of free fenced off street parking and an armed security watching the door. This is because New Orleans is a very dangerous place. Let the guard walk you to the car if they can.The place is very clean and well run. Dress is casual or fancy, but don’t go looking like a slob.Good wine selection too, full bar. Everything is served in glassware.Idk about the dinners, I never order meals, I get the same thing every time.Good luck y’all.Parking: The lot is on the restaurant property.Kid-friendliness: I have seen older kids there every now and again it’s cool, but it’s not really a thing to bring kids there. It’s a grown folk joint.“
“Wow! So excited to find this outpost of the MML hospitality group. We are thrilled to stay at this gorgeous hotel having enjoyed all the delicious food at their Austin restaurants. Moke, Andrew and our server Gina all made us feel so welcome and made sure our experience was top notch! The food was off the hook, we enjoyed the Sammie’s Casear, the carpaccio, linguine vongole and the flounder piccata. The desserts were so delicious, we had the chocolate bundino and the two versions of the cannolis, pistachio and chocolate chip. The cocktails were so delicious. As was the Champagne (1/2 off on Monday evenings). We couldn’t ask for a better first night in NOLA. LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER!“
“We were fortunate to get a recommendation to this hidden gem on Frenchman from a local artist. There is literally about ten tables, and they don't take reservations, so I it's recommended to get there when they open. For an appetizer, we ordered the mussels. They were delicious! For entrees, we had the steak special with Ocean Sauce (creole based) and the Veal Ocean (veal, crabmeat, crawfish, and capers) in a croele sauce ---literally couldn't stop eating it! Did not order dessert, but observing from other nearby tables, it looked outstanding! It was one of the top meals we had while visiting! Highly recommend!“
“Pricey but very good! I always get the pesto tortellini add chicken. Cheese sticks are really good and usually have a coupon, or used to atleast. The smoking chicken pizza is so good! A little spice to it, but definitely worth trying! I always order to go fast and easy.“
“The new location on barataria is beautiful! The food is delicious as always and the staff is always friendly and smiling. I love everything on the menu, but some of my favorites are, of course, the Mew Orleans Muffaletta, Shrimp Poboy, roast beef on muffaletta bread, eggplant sticks, and the fried mushrooms. You can't go wrong with anything!“
“This place has been get a long time, at least 20 years, probably more, which says something about the place. My calling was hot and well flavored. Everyone else in my party had a similar experience. I wish I thought about coming here more often.“
“Good food, was cooked good and ready on time. Always had good service here. Sometimes people have to be patient this is not Walmart or popeyes. It is freshly cooked food restaurant alot of people order from here. Highly recommend this restaurant.“
“Food is ok. I had the seafood manicotti, it was swimming in sauce and had a hard time finding the “seafood” but it was tasty. The dessert i had i cannot remember the name but had strawberry, chocolate, and pistachio ice cream with cookie crust, not good. The ice cream looked and tasted more like a sorbet, ok flavor. My husband had the beet salad which he liked.“
“I thought the food was delicious and prepared well. I absolutely recommend the Detroit style pizza, it was incredible. Also enjoyed the sandwich I got as well. It is a great pick if you are looking for a change of pace from the seafood and Cajun fare.“
“The pan crusted chicken breast was phenomenal. The eggplant chips for an appetizer were lovely. Everything our table ordered was amazing. It was our first time there. Josh our server was on top of everything. The owner even stopped by to check on us.“
“My daughter and I needed a "snack" to hold us over until our late lunch reservations. Something quick and easy...and tasty! While in Nola you will see pizza slices sold at all the spots with the frozen drinks, etc. This spot is a mama/pop shop and doesn't look like much walking up and in, but in my experience that's a good sign! I saw the pepperoni pizza and wasn't impressed with the small, easily counted pieces of pepperoni, but we were hungry...not greedy. ;)Glad we went with these slices! They warmed the slices in the pizza oven. The crust was perfect, a bit thicker on the bottom somewhat which was -- PERFECT. The sauce/cheese ratio paired perfect with the pepperoni which tasted real fresh. It was super easy to walk and eat the slice. It wasn't greasy. Not runny. And the thickness of the crust allowed it to keep its shape. It wasn't floppy, which I think was great. As we walked and munched, a guy stopped and said..."I need to know where you got THAT!" It was the perfect size and the price was right. AND -- they didn't charge an additional service fee for me using my debit card! Imagine that, a LEGIT SMALL BUSINESS not passing their cost to do business to the customer. Much respect!Check this place out! My only regret is not ordering a whole pie.“
“My family and I love, love, love to eat here. Feels like family! Our server is always nice and helpful, and always get our orders correct. The serving portions are excellent. Pricing is a bit high, but it's made up for by service, cleanliness, and the amount of food. Plus, the bathrooms are always available.“
“A little gem of a restaurant that is tucked away on a side street, but it's definitely worth seeking out. The food is above average New Orleans style Italian fare. They offer a multi course option as well that is filling and the staff is very helpful and attentive.“
“visited the covington location. staff was friendly as could be food was really good restaurant was extremely clean and food was moderately priced. Job well done folks. Hats off to Gustavo , Cedricka.L and the entire staff. We will be returning to this location soon.“
“The website menu items and pricing is out of date. The Crab salad does not contain much crab..get the regular salad. One salad is good for 3 people. The Oyster Mosca and Shrimp Mosca are must get selections. The pasta and red sauce, too. Last night, the Chicken a la Grande was overdone..pass on this item. I was disappointed they did not have Sangiovese ( on their website menu)....they substituted a Cab Sauv. The pineapple fluff is a rather unusual item. If you email them for something other than reservations, do not expect a response. This is a place to go to with a small group in order to share items ( serving is family style.)“
