My biggest complaint was the strange seating. We had a party of six, they had a bench seat for 3 of us and chairs for the other 3. The strange part was the table for 2 set right on top of us. 1 person on the bench, 1 in a chair. Just felt very crowded. Overall a very pleasant dinner.“

I've read some of the other reviews and with all due respect, it's a dinner! Not the Capital Grill for gods sake. Every dish, every server, every person on the grill has been outstanding. “The pineapple fajita was a delicious surprise! Earned the 4 stars. The steak and chicken fajita was tasty. The rice and beans and corn tortillas were pretty standard though. The tomatoes with that fajita dish were pretty plain- not pico de gallo. The drinks and the service were good! Chips and salsa are offered to each table- I was not impressed by the chips, the salsa was ok- not chunky at all, it had a runny consistency- pretty mild. We were there on a Thursday night - we enjoyed the live mariachi which visited tables for tips. They belted out 2 songs for us. There is a separate bar area and 3 to 4 separate areas with tables and booths. We enjoyed the merengue and bachata music that was playing when the mariachi was not performing.Kid-friendliness: I’ve been with my kids and have seen others with kids.“

The Lobster Cardnel had a good sauce but the shrimp and scallop was not cooked well. However the lobster was good. My boyfriend loved his lobster Mac n cheese but he thought the blackened chicken was just okay. The waiter was very nice and attentive and we would like to go back and try more of their small dishes.“

“Valentine’s Day was my first time ever visiting the restaurant, it was very busy and me and my boyfriend were actually late for our reservation and the hostess took amazing care of us and we didn’t have to wait long to be seated even though we were late. When we sat down our waiter was Ken and let me just tell you Ken is amazing. He made my entire experience at the restaurant amazing, and he made sure our food was cooked to our liking. He was knowledgeable of the entire menu, and he recommended some really good things for us, and I am not only loved the food I loved the atmosphere, and the entire experience was amazing! “Pleasantly surprised!! The menu was a little challenging for us to read. Lots of words we didn't recognize and honestly nothing was really jumping out at us for some reason. But then we started to see some food walking by to other tables (we needed a visual menu lol) and knew it was gonna be good. Ceasar salad was insanely good. Came with smoked blue fish it was the perfect meal. Fantastic clam chowder. Homemade bread. Everything was homemade or local and you could tell they take great pride in everything they make and serve, including an espresso martini made with so much love. “Officially one of my new favorite restaurants in providence! When you walk in, there's dim lighting which I particularly enjoyed especially because it made the providence sign stand out. Our waitress was kind and very attentive from the minute we were seated. Now the food was divine, everything was perfect. We ordered the calamari and each ordered the short rib with gnocchi. Every ingredient in that dish complimented each other so well, it was such a lovely culinary experience. My friend also ordered the "only fans" drink which she enjoyed. Every time we walk in, a manager is there to greet us and gets us to a couple seats either by the bar or at the adjacent tables. That's where we grabbed it from the shelf. The expiration date stamped on the container was MAY 2024. We bought it in February. How is that possible? Here's how: the container it comes in is merely a container for another container...a rugged fully-sealed plastic bag that contains your chowder. From where I'm sittin', that's a genius play. You prevent food from wasting on the shelf, you ensure that it stays fresh and you ensure that it tastes the way was meant to from Blount's loving hands. Our chowder (for 2) was the perfect amount (1 Quart) with a hefty bunch'a clams and flavorful potatoes with a thick and creamy base that felt like old New England to me. To be able to enjoy that - right here on our sunny patio in West L.A. - magical. The description says they've been in business for over 125 years. It also says they make a mean bisque... All over THAT!“
