“Love this spot. Friendly staff”

“We have eaten at Smoke Pit before in a different location and love the food. However, my family thought the food was better at this location (Concord location). The burnt ends are amazing and portions very generous (you get your money's worth here!!). My family got the burnt ends spud, pork plate, burnt ends sandwich, and the burnt ends plate (can you tell we like burnt ends?). The BBQ is top notch and the sides are just as amazing. The service at this location was a perfect 10. Super appreciated the atmosphere at this place. We came in late not realizing it was close to closing time and realized it after we were served and front doors were being locked. We asked a server what time they closed and he was super polite and told us 8pm (it was 8:06). He said, "you're good, enjoy your food!" with a genuine smile. Then a very elderly gentleman came in through the unlocked exit door and the manager explained they were closed but ended up serving this gentleman as well. Special shout out to Mike the manager for being so kind with the customers as well as the staff. He was obviously working hard and serving dual roles running register, serving food, directing staff all while being pleasant to everyone and handling things with grace. Truly appreciate the atmosphere and staff at this restaurant and highly recommend you stop by and enjoy it yourself. We're a hour away from this location but I think it's worth the drive to revisit!”

“I love nothing Bundt cakes. I go to multiple locations. I own the lunchbox, that gives you a special for every visit. All of the other locations the special is buy 3 get 1 free. The Concord location was the only one that you had to buy 4 get one free. I went about 3 weeks ago and was told that the special changed to buy 3 get 1 free. I was excited. I then visited 2 weeks later and was told that they did not honor the lunchbox anymore. I asked to speak to someone else. The first employee told me the manager told them to tell everyone that and if they got pushback to go ahead and honor the lunchbox. Shady customer service. When the second employee came out they said I could do the buy 3 get 1 free or the buy 4 get 1 free whichever one I wanted. The cakes are always delicious when I come to this store and it is close to my house. However I wish the manager valued loyalty and delivered better customer service.”

“my mother and I ate here for the first time today. we split a 1/2 order of crab rangoons, she had the hibachi chicken and mushrooms, I had teriyaki steak and broccoli. both entrees were well cook with tender meat that wasn't mushy. The flavors were amazing and not overkill. We will definitely go back again to try other items. The price is more than reasonable for all the food you get. The sweet carrots were a nice addition.”

“My Husband received a gift card for his birthday for Texas Roadhouse. Not a place we frequent, but it’s nice to mix it up now and then, right? Because we had the gift card, I signed up for their rewards and received a free appetizer coupon. The day we went (today) I received a promotional email that if you purchase a digital GC for $30+, you’ll receive a $5 bonus GC for free. So, we went with $60 in gift cards and a free appetizer coupon. We visited around 3:15pm, it was quite busy, hostess was propping the door open and taking names and phone numbers to add to the waitlist. Took our name and phone number, stated we’d receive a text message when we were up to be seated, and told us about 10 minutes or so, no problem. The couple in front of us was also waiting outside (over 90 degrees today), they received their text message and went inside. We sat outside for about 10 more minutes, seeing multiple people walking in and not coming back out (we were the only 2 people sitting outside still waiting). We went inside to see if there was any room to at least sit in the A/C, there was. Two sets of two people came in and were told to follow one of the hostess to a seat. Wait, what? They weren’t on the waitlist, I hadn’t received a text message, and they’re being seated from walking in after we had been waiting for about 20 minutes at this point. My Husband goes up to the hostess (there was 1 behind the counter) and about 4/5 standing around up front as well and stated that we’ve been on the waitlist for almost 20 minutes and people are being sat before us. She said she could seat us now. No apology for the inconvenience, but actually the opposite. The hostess behind the counter turned her head and either looked, mouthed, rolled her eyes… something to the other hostess because she smirked at her after she turned her head (the one who took my name and phone number) and off we went. On our way to the table the hostess had the audacity to ask how we were doing, yes the one that took my name and phone number. Luckily, my Husband was in front of me and said we were good. No we absolutely were not. Had she asked me, I would have told her how we were. Not good. You could at least sincerely apologize and I would have understood that things happen. So, why the heck am I still recommending this place? Charly. Our server Charly was absolutely top tier and saved the butts of her co-workers incompetency. She was friendly, attentive, and a great server! I had more Diet Coke on the table as soon as I was about to finish my first one… that is when you know you have a GREAT server (one of many reasons). So, thankfully Charly turned our experience from absolutely never coming back to we’d ask to be in her section again if we returned. All in all, hostess’ need more training on how to apologize when they make a mistake (and to not turn your head annoyed with your customers when YOU messed up), while Charly needs a promotion and a raise.”

“The Great Wolf Lodge Concord provides a fun, fabulous time for everyone! This Mimi of two received the request for a Howling birthday (turning 6) weekend after her sister’s Howling birthday (turned 8) weekend in August. The staff is friendly, professional, helpful, and ready to assist from before you arrive to the end of your stay. They don’t fail to make the kiddos feel special, welcomed, and wanted! That means a lot to things grandma since the kids are the reason we come! Our room has always been clean. And while there may be some areas that the hotel needs to update, staff is always available to ensure that even with the large crowds the property’s cleanliness is maintained. (To the best of my memory, each time we return, those things that needed replacing in the prior visit have been replaced.) Birthday packages are set up in the room between 4 and 6 PM. It is always a pleasant surprise. Either way! From the banner on the door to the birthday cake and balloons, the one cream cone, and of course the arcade card, it’s a special treat, indeed. Speaking of Birthday packages, we , personally, do not do the package that includes pizza because the pizza is not to our liking, but that’s OK because Concord, NC has a wide variety of restaurant options to suit our fancy. The restaurant within the hotel offers a Buffet for breakfast that we do choose to eat. It’s convenient way to get the kids fed so they can start their fun. There’s an ice cream shop, a gift shop that has a big wall of candy, coffee shop, donuts, an arcade, bowling, a quest—so many fun things to do under one roof! The resort is rather pricey, but if you plan ahead, or keep an eye out in your email as a member, you will find times that you can book your rooms quite inexpensively. Saving on the room means more cash in your budget for other activities within the resort or outside of it. My grands having been here multiple times don’t always have to do the quest or the arcade. Sometimes they’re just as happy to enjoy the water park and get an ice cream cone. Overall, if you play your cards (timing) right, the resort offers a big bang value for your buck!”

The waitress brought a pack of plastic utensils. She eventually brought metal silverware .. For some reason they have become pretty stingy with condiments. They had bottled ketchup on tables except a few so she brought us packets instead of a bottle. The wood chairs are pretty hard to sit in. Some of them look like the front legs are shorter than the back legs. Other than that everything was ok..”

However, one thing I don’t like is how there were 2 girls working behind the counter, one of the girls was doing nothing. I watched her argue with customers openly and not serve customers who were waiting on their orders, while the other girl ran around doing everything. She was making drinks, taking orders, cleaning up, etc. just doesn’t seem right one person doing all the work, while the other didn’t do anything. Again, LOVE coming down here and being a local, love the coffee and atmosphere!”

“I can’t express how happy I am with Mac Tabby Cat Cafe. I went a few days before Christmas to possibly adopt a new cat. The staff here is amazing, the cats are all adorable and it was overall a great experience. I adopted a beautiful white cat and I love her to pieces. I would not hesitate in the future to adopt from Mac Tabby again. Alternately if you just love cats and want to go hang out for an hour with the kitties, it’s a blast. The cats are very interactive. “Wow. Happened by chance by this food truck. Gave it a try. OMG. Best authentic Mexican street food! Incredible flavor and huge portions. My wife and I split the special and it was almost too much. The shredded beef was awesome - perfectly seasoned and perfect texture. Green and red hot sauces were spot on. Fresh radish and lime accompaniment were perfect. Soup was piping hot and delicious. Better than any Mexican food we ever had in Texas (where we lived for 40+ years. This place is 10 out of 10!”

I got a giant cookie that looked like burnt plastic and tasted worse. I got 2 slices and we were on our way to a game so we asked for a box and they said no. They have better pizza at the QT Gas station. I will never go back here!!! I also don't know why it says I recommend this place cause I certainly do NOT!”

My pork was lightly seasoned and fried to perfection but I’ve had better, the greens were cooked the way I like them but again, they lacked flavor! They tasted like they were seasoned with salt only and a lot of it, so I couldn’t finish my greens. The yams were ok and the cornbread was not giving me that cornbread taste like back in the day.. more like a cake. So may like it this way but I care for more of a cornmeal flavor. Overall the food was just ok and I would definitely go back and try something different! If you’re looking for some soul food in the Concord area, give them a try!”

“We went Saturday for lunch and my meatloaf and mashed potatoes were cold. we asked for biscuits while we were waiting and never received them. And it took 25 minutes to get our food, it was not worth it.”

“Keith is a wonderful bar tender. I had a lot of questions about the new drinks because I am not a drinker but he was patient with me and didn’t pressure me to decide before I was ready. Brinaye placed my to go order for me and I sat at the bar and had my drink while I waited. The wait was around 20 to 25 minutes but the time flew by because the staff is so friendly. I almost decided to stay and have my lunch there but I was I had an appointment. I will be back though! The host greeted me with a smile when I came in and even opened the door for me I was surprised. When I was leaving everyone said goodbye. You can tell some of the customers come here often because staff greet them by name and ask them how they are doing. They seem genuinely connected to the guest. Nick, who I discovered is the manager greeted guests at their table and asked them how there experience was going. I found that to be very proactive. I will come back for a family dinner or maybe a date. It’s very inviting.”

“I would give anything to live near here! We were on our war to Charlotte for a baby shower and had time to kill when we came across Pump Social. While we didn't get the try their traditional menu (they were hosting their first annual oyster fest) we were sure glad we got a taste of what this place can do! The bratwurst sandwiches were so impressive, we went back for seconds. While we are not locals, the staff did an amazing job making it feel like we lived just up the road. I have already began planning my return to Pump Social.
