“Me and my son, who is a chef, stopped here today after a wellness medical visit. I was extra hungry because I had to fast the day before! I had seen the commercials about The Smoke Pit (best barbecue in town) and someone had recommended it to my son! We both are big food critics- me being from Texas - the BEST BARBECUE STATE - and he being a CHEF! The Smoke Pit PASSED with FLYING COLORS! Everything was delicious- I had The Ribs, sweet potato casserole, and Mac & Cheese and baked beans. He had the two-meat brisket and pulled pork with greens instead of baked beans. We were both THRILLED! A+ From Us BOTH. We will RETURN.”

“I love nothing Bundt cakes. I go to multiple locations. I own the lunchbox, that gives you a special for every visit. All of the other locations the special is buy 3 get 1 free. The Concord location was the only one that you had to buy 4 get one free. I went about 3 weeks ago and was told that the special changed to buy 3 get 1 free. I was excited. I then visited 2 weeks later and was told that they did not honor the lunchbox anymore. I asked to speak to someone else. The first employee told me the manager told them to tell everyone that and if they got pushback to go ahead and honor the lunchbox. Shady customer service. When the second employee came out they said I could do the buy 3 get 1 free or the buy 4 get 1 free whichever one I wanted. The cakes are always delicious when I come to this store and it is close to my house. However I wish the manager valued loyalty and delivered better customer service.”

“We are from out of town and wanted to try something new. Manager delivered our food and asked us about our visit. He thanked us for picking them for lunch and gave us chips and queso on the house! All of our food was delicious. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend!!!!”

“The Latin American Quetzal Restaurant is superior when it comes to serving red snapper! It was perfectly cooked in the Huachinango style (deep fried without a batter). It was served with rice, beans, avocado, cactus salad, pickled onions, jalapeno salsa, and lime. This was all served on two big platters. The red snapper was huge and it sat on a sizzling hot iron plate. I could not believe the quality and amount of food they served for only $23.99! They also make their own aqua frescas. I had a mix of their mango and passion fruit aqua frescas mixed together. It was delicious! I would also like to say that the service there was very good and attentive. There is no question that I will be coming back again!”

“The pho and Japanese items are excellent. The waitress overheard we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and brought out a huge neon happy birthday sign. At the end of the meal she brought an onion with a sparkler in it and sang happy birthday. I feel like she truly cared about making it special. We love the food and are so glad they’re in downtown Concord.”

“We stopped in at Southern Strain Brewery for a date night and some live music. I was surprised to see they had ice cream for sale. They had at least 10 flavors and the ice cream was so smooth!! I got the Butter Cake flavor. It had crack pieces and chocolate frosting!! Delicious. Will definitely bring my kids with me next time!”

“My Husband received a gift card for his birthday for Texas Roadhouse. Not a place we frequent, but it’s nice to mix it up now and then, right? Because we had the gift card, I signed up for their rewards and received a free appetizer coupon. The day we went (today) I received a promotional email that if you purchase a digital GC for $30+, you’ll receive a $5 bonus GC for free. So, we went with $60 in gift cards and a free appetizer coupon. We visited around 3:15pm, it was quite busy, hostess was propping the door open and taking names and phone numbers to add to the waitlist. Took our name and phone number, stated we’d receive a text message when we were up to be seated, and told us about 10 minutes or so, no problem. The couple in front of us was also waiting outside (over 90 degrees today), they received their text message and went inside. We sat outside for about 10 more minutes, seeing multiple people walking in and not coming back out (we were the only 2 people sitting outside still waiting). We went inside to see if there was any room to at least sit in the A/C, there was. Two sets of two people came in and were told to follow one of the hostess to a seat. Wait, what? They weren’t on the waitlist, I hadn’t received a text message, and they’re being seated from walking in after we had been waiting for about 20 minutes at this point. My Husband goes up to the hostess (there was 1 behind the counter) and about 4/5 standing around up front as well and stated that we’ve been on the waitlist for almost 20 minutes and people are being sat before us. She said she could seat us now. No apology for the inconvenience, but actually the opposite. The hostess behind the counter turned her head and either looked, mouthed, rolled her eyes… something to the other hostess because she smirked at her after she turned her head (the one who took my name and phone number) and off we went. On our way to the table the hostess had the audacity to ask how we were doing, yes the one that took my name and phone number. Luckily, my Husband was in front of me and said we were good. No we absolutely were not. Had she asked me, I would have told her how we were. Not good. You could at least sincerely apologize and I would have understood that things happen. So, why the heck am I still recommending this place? Charly. Our server Charly was absolutely top tier and saved the butts of her co-workers incompetency. She was friendly, attentive, and a great server! I had more Diet Coke on the table as soon as I was about to finish my first one… that is when you know you have a GREAT server (one of many reasons). So, thankfully Charly turned our experience from absolutely never coming back to we’d ask to be in her section again if we returned. All in all, hostess’ need more training on how to apologize when they make a mistake (and to not turn your head annoyed with your customers when YOU messed up), while Charly needs a promotion and a raise.”

My family member wasn't interested in eating and I didn't want it to go to waste so I enjoyed the meal.

“Went for lunch today. Had a 5 minute wait to be seated which was pretty fast. Ordered our food. I also had soup with my meal but they had no silverware. The waitress brought a pack of plastic utensils. She eventually brought metal silverware .. For some reason they have become pretty stingy with condiments. They had bottled ketchup on tables except a few so she brought us packets instead of a bottle. The wood chairs are pretty hard to sit in. Some of them look like the front legs are shorter than the back legs. Other than that everything was ok..”

“I love coming to Press and Porter in downtown Concord! The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming! The food and drinks are amazing! However, one thing I don’t like is how there were 2 girls working behind the counter, one of the girls was doing nothing. I watched her argue with customers openly and not serve customers who were waiting on their orders, while the other girl ran around doing everything. She was making drinks, taking orders, cleaning up, etc. just doesn’t seem right one person doing all the work, while the other didn’t do anything. Again, LOVE coming down here and being a local, love the coffee and atmosphere!”

“Today was the first for my sons and I ever visiting a cat cafe. We had heard about it a few years back and I've been wanting to go ever since. We live in a small town approximately 4 hours from Charlotte and came down for a few days. This was a must do. It was even better than we expected. The staff were very nice and the facility was really clean. I had a smoothie which was delicious and my sons had iced coffee and hot chocolate. They both loved the drinks. The cats were amazing! We love cats anyway and have five of our own, so we enjoyed the time with these so much! My sons are both teenagers and they loved it every bit as much as I did, so much that my oldest asked if we could go back again tomorrow so we made another reservation....two in fact, so we could stay for 2 hours. This is an absolute MUST for anyone who likes cats.”

So amazing how every bite was flavorful and intense with seasoning that lingered well after I could take another bite.

Totally awesome experience I will rate them a 10 out of 10 but Google only lets you rate one to five.

They have heaters outside for the cooler days. If you are looking for a little different than the norm stop in for a lunch.”
