“We heard about Carl and Chelle's and decided to give them a try! It's your down home - Mom and Pop steakhouse. The decor definitely needs to be brightened up and updated. Everyone was super nice! The restaurant and rest rooms were clean. They began to fill up quickly, so although not required I would make a reservation. I was quite shocked that they still had a public salad bar! I'm not a fan of buffets or shareable bars, but I got a salad and it was good! Our server was nice and she came around with a cart with visuals and then an open piece of meat that you could choose the cut of your steak if you like. I wasn't a fan of bringing the steak to be cut to the table, but that's just me. Our food came out in good timing and no one had any major complaints, but the asparagus was a little too charred. Also for the shrimp some type of butter sauce would have been delicious. I would have also enjoyed a good sauce for the chicken breast. We did not indulge in dessert because I made a cake at home, but they do have homemade slices of cakes/pies if you would like dessert. They have their own parking lot and most dishes were about $25 and up depending on the steak you choose. Overall a pretty good place to enjoy a good meal quickly! Dress is come as you are- we dressed casual and I felt a little overdressed. So if you are celebrating- dress up, but regular clothing is acceptable here also.”
“Have dined at this location previously, mostly because it is walking distance from my hotel. Expectations are low as the experience has been historically mediocre. But today was surprisingly different, because it was so very good. The hostess provided a warm welcome and greeted us with a smile. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly. The quality of the salad was fresh and above average. The bread was its usual goodness, and served hot. The 8 ounce sirloin was cooked to a medium rare perfection, which was actually amazing. Thanks for an excellent evening!”
“No food, just beer, wine and soft drinks. Food trucks frequently make an appearance at this rehabbed gasoline "filling station." It has been redone to be a bar serving GOldsboro Brew Works beers and sours. We joined the fun of raising $20k for St. Baldrick's to conquer childhood cancers. Great partnership with the Goldsboro Elks and Brick's Pizza. Men and women volunteered to have their heads shaved, locks of love benefited from some of the longer manes. Many a winter beard were gone, along with some eyebrows. Despite the crowd, service was great, the bartender remained friendly. Outside fenced courtyard looks like a fun play space for kids and dogs. Outside seating available. Ample parking behind the building or across the street.#doitdowntown #DGDC”
“Came here today with a couple of my buddies to come try this place and it was the best bbq I’ve had in a long time , those young man and women was so great with customer service and my food was HOT ,I just want to say that’s a great place to eat with family and friend. And special thanks to the young manager that made my food. We will be coming back. ?”
“I ordered the lamb chops Parmesan crusted with mashed potatoes and spinach along with the strawberry salad. I had the cheddar mushrooms as my appetizer and water as my drink. My waitress was kind and attentive. It was not busy and my food came out fresh. I did try the sweet tea and ended up adding that as my drink. It was an amazing experience. I greatly appreciate them and they offer military discount.”
“Delicious, the crack chicken and sweet potato fries we 10/10. They accommodated our group of eight with no problem as well as dietary restrictions! Great experience!”
“Absolutely delicious Thai food! Protons are nice and reasonably priced for home-cooked style Thai food. If you are sensitive to spice, have that conversation with your server and they can help you pick something out that fits your tastes. The spicy fried basil chick is excellent, and the calamari appetizer was some of the most tender, perfectly cooked squid I've ever had.Vegetarian options: Most of the entrees have vegetarian options. You might want to check to make sure they don't use fish sauce, as I'm not sure.”
“Had the grill-side hibachi. The food was good, but not great. A third of the vegetables were undercooked. Service was great, but atmosphere was dull. I'm sure that had to do with the other customers at our grill who were lacking a bit in personalities.”
“I was traveling for work and decided to get some lunch near the training center. The wait time was minimal before my order was taken. I was greeted when I walked in. The restaurant is inside a convenient store but don't let that deter you. My order was approximately ready 7 minutes after placing my order. I ordered the oxtails, cabbage, rice and beans with plantains. I also ordered the jerk chicken for my dinner with the same sides. The food was very delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and the seasoning was perfect for me. The portions were nice and I didn't mind paying their prices. I will definitely visit again.Parking: Located in a strip shopping center with a few small businesses.”
“Walked in and was greeted by a tall blonde guy who was super friendly. He took my order and I got my food in less than 5 minutes. I got the chipotle turkey and a black angus sandwich. Best fast food sub I have ever had, Quiznos is definetely on the “better” side of the sub industry.”
“Wheelchair accessibility: They didn’t really have sufficient space for handicapped accessibility. But the atmosphere was okay. Staff was limited/short staffed but we managed to have a good time.”
“I know it does not look much one the outside but OMG!!! The food and service was on point!! The crab legs and crawfish were cooked to perfection and was absolutely amazing!! Umami was a result of a google search for my husband and I and we will be going back and bringing people with us!!!”
“The food was all very tasty. The service was ok but slow. Very slow. It took more than 20 minutes for mixed drinks and more than 30 minutes for our entrees. My husband was joking with the waitress about "do I need to go back there?" and she was not amused. After that, she seemed to have an attitude with him. To the point that when she brought HIS food, she almost threw it at him.The food, though, was so good. We will definitely go back, and hopefully, the service will not be so slow.”
“Go for lunch each week. Food is always wonderful. I’m usually doing work on my computer and they check on me without being overly excessive while I’m working, which I appreciate. I do wish they had a good spot with tables with outlets nearby, I like to eat slow and work at the same time and my computer likes to die sometimes. That’s the only thing that I’d recommend as an improvement! Everything is always great!”
“Delicious food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere! They have an excellent selection of menu items and the staff was very friendly, I didn't catch her name but our server was very attentive and helpfulParking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: High chairs, plenty of space”
“Absolutely surprised and pleased with the mini boil. Very pleased. Waitress was very good and attentive. Oysters were very overcooked and unedible. The trout was at the edge of overcooked as well as the Hush puppies.”
“The salad bar is good. I get the potatoe salad, quinoa salad, olive, beets and cucumber. The full rotisserie chicken is delicious and so is the lamb. I enjoy the fried chicken too. The sweet tea has cinnamon, it's good. The sweet potato cheese cake is good. Yucca & sweet potato fries are great sides. The service has declined the last 2 times I've gone. I don't know what happened to the other guy who was always there but his service was great.Parking: I always park right in front”
