“Hubby and I had dinner @ RL on NYE (dinner out was a last minute decision). He was able to make a reservation (which I didn't know you could do @ RL). Our server, Marissa, was a delight!! Probably the best service that I have ever had at this location. My entree - the lemon basil mahi - was good (a little on the salty side) and the broccoli, which usually is spot on perfectly steamed was a bit 'mushy' - not enough to send it back and I ate it anyway.

We had a nice dinner and never felt rushed...

Service is fast, everyone behind the counter is always friendly even when they are busy. On Wednesdays they offer choices of fish sandwich or fish combo plates that are reasonably priced and will satisfy your appetite. I definitely recommend if you are in the area.”

“Everywhere I travel and live in try the local places. My first time here wasn't great. I'm from Tampa and have high expectations. Second time was a score ! The PHO was amazing and came disassembled. Love it. I had complete control over how hot/sweet i wanted. I've only ever ordered take out here. So very next day I had to go back and try the shrimp PHO. beef in my first pho was questionable, not sure what they're using. I will take pics this time! I encourage everyone to get out and try new places and new food ! We are what we eat !”

“Being from California, I have been searching the entire East Coast for a Mexican food restaurant that actually knows how to cook REAL Mexican food, it took me five years but I finally found La Familia here in Statesville and they DO NOT DISAPPOINT! Hands down, the best Mexican food I’ve had since moving from California (THE BEST BY FAR!) And to top it off, their prices are VERY reasonable! My son and I both got entire meals, drinks, and sides of rice and beans for $21!! They gained a new loyal customer today!! I’ll be back two or three times a week, really, it’s that good!!”

“This was our first time getting breakfast since the cafe changed ownership. We each ordered Breakfast Plates with scrambled eggs, link sausages, and hashbrowns. I believe the portions were generous (we saved at least half the amount of food for leftovers), and the food was absolutely delicious! We also ordered French Toast to split between us, and they were really good, too. Thankful that the new owners from Power Cross Ministries kept this place going. We will definitely plan on coming again!”

Unfortunately, they only take Apple pay. Darius, the awesome guy who directs traffic during lunch, took care of my meal for me. I was/am beyond grateful. They were even giving out flowers yesterday and I got a cute little bouquet. Love this place!”

The food is good. We have a pretty big family of picky eaters, but they never complain about Chinese when we get it from here.

There is no dine-in seating; this restaurant is currently take-out only. Some seats while you wait, but otherwise bring it home.

Overall, our first pick for take-out Chinese for sure.”

“This is tucked inside Ingles Supermarket, so that is the only time I come here - when I’m shopping. No worries though, I get stellar service no matter what. Their little kiosk/booth is spotless and the workers are always polite and full of smiles. I’ve never had a bad drink here. Always made quickly and to perfection. The place is brightly lit up like a summer day in Florida, with no decor and no paper towels in the bathroom. But the biggest drawback is a tip system that does not allow a custom tip. If I’m picking up food the minimum percentage is 15%. Yes I could have said no tip but don’t mind giving a couple dollars for takeout, but not minimum 15%. If the interior was more welcoming I’d have dined it.

“We used Sorrento's to cater our rehearsal dinner this past Friday and it was AMAZING. We got the chicken parm, alfredo, baked ziti, and three different pizzas. All of it was delicious! We had many guests down from Philadelphia and they all loved it as well (they judge food harddd - especially Italian). We live in Concord, but if we are ever in Statesville, we will definitely be stopping to eat here at the restaurant itself. Highly recommend!”

“Called Village Inn Myn View and ordered a to go order this past Saturday for 8 people. First, the young lady that answered the phone was very helpful and friendly. Ordered 50 wings and 2 Village Inn pizzas. The wings were worth the $. They were big, fresh and tasty. The pizzas were amazing with gracious toppings. Keep up the good work Mtn View location!!!!💪🏼😉”

I opted for the latter given time constraints, which led me to search out a bakery. Lo and behold, the first resulted in Karen’s Cakes & Cafe Pharr. I perused the site late Friday night (9/1), impressed by what I had seen of the photos, which was an obvious display of someone with great cake design talents. I couldn’t believe my luck at this being the first result and exhaustion led me to retire for the night.I awakened Saturday (9/2) morning and resumed my task by reading the reviews which ultimately led to a phone call. It was not a regular business day, but as luck would have it, I got to speaking with Karen herself; the first call was an inquiry to find out about placing orders. Karen informed me of what I can order and the call ended thereafter. I gave it some thought and called back a second time; this time placing my order for cinnamon rolls, which Karen stated, “everyone loves”.The time arrived for pickup and I got the opportunity to be warmly greeted by Karen, her husband Mike, and my order??. I absolutely loved our exchange of conversation. To my surprise, Karen had included a couple of treats; a slice of her iced blueberry lemon cake, a slice of red velvet cheesecake AND extras that were totally unexpected and only found out when we got home. Thank you!! Thank you!!At this point, I couldn’t wait to get home and when I did, my daughter, who had accompanied me on the trip, opened up the containers with the cake slices and we dug right into our treats and let me tell you, they were mouth watering and deliciously flavorful AND we didn’t stop there; we knew we had to sample the cinnamon rolls and Karen, you weren’t kidding about those rolls. They were absolutely and delightfully soft with just the right amount of sweet. It was not long before we decided that this is where I would be ordering my birthday cake. I am now torn between the iced blueberry lemon and the coconut cream cake!! Though I think my daughter has already decided on the iced blueberry lemon.Overall, the reviews are exactly what I experienced; a delightful business owner who had charm and appeal, whose smile was infectiously warm and inviting, who knows her products, swears by her customers’ satisfaction, and guarantees that you would love it AND love it we did!! These appear to be the characteristics that continue to make Karen’s Cake & Cafe Pharr a successful business for over 30 years.Thank you Karen for the last minute accommodation given such short notice. “Husband had this pizza years ago at a rural location. He completely forgot about it until seeing sign at a different location in another very rural area. I personally have never had it and I'm extremely picky when it comes to pizza. It's one of my favorite foods. Well he suggested I try it because he remembers loving it over a decade ago. So I agreed and got a simple pepperoni pizza and then drove 15 mins home. Only cost $11.99 plus tax for a 12" Pizza which is cheapest pizza I've ever purchased. I had to rewarm it which made me hesitant on the quality. I was totally wrong. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN. First purchase for me was yesterday and today I went out and bought 2 more. Great dough, sauce, cheese the works. I will forever be a Hunt Brothers Pizza only..”

Went with the kids but we had to leave because the outdoor patio section had a couple smoking and it was going everywhere. I wouldn’t have minded as much however it literally promotes a smoke free area on their door. The hostess looked like he had been eating and came to seat us after maybe a few minutes of waiting bc we had enough time to contemplate leaving and ultimately decided to do so because it wasn’t an inviting environment. I’ve been to other East Coast wings bc they serve my favorite wings but this location just wasn’t it .”
