If you want to stay warm in the winter, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the empanadas, nachos, and horchata were a hundred and ten percent genuine Hispanic/Latino recipes. I remember around 2016 when Tijuana Birria was all over Instagram, but nobody could find it in America. Well, if some of the best Al Pastor in NJ is in Ocean County at Montes, J and L has some of the fastest, fresh, tasty beef birria tacos in East Rutherford and North Jersey if you're like me and have to eat dinner and work after night falls. Thank you for staying open late enough to deliver whenever my night shifts go into overtime. Good food can feed a family or last multiple meals. You have great portions for the price, and I'll watch for sales and specials every week. I'll be ordering again in the summer with some Coronas or Modelo. With our group size we couldn't get a table to have the tapas we were hoping to try so we settled for the stalls that took walk up ordering. The sandwiches and croquettas were delicious so we will definitely have to return next time we are in New York for the tapas! Our one complaint was the food hall and the seating/ordering system was rather confusing to navigate (what you can order based on where you sit) and the waitstaff were too busy to explain adequately. Better signage with explanation would be helpful!“

Our event coordinator, Lee, is knowledgeable, super responsive, and organized. The staff was well equipped, attentive, and knew how to run an event. The highlight for me was the portobello carpaccio (not pictured). The tapas are nicely sized for being tapas. We got sangrias but I'd probably try a cocktail or do a white wine next time. They did kindly give us complimentary white wine which was super sweet! Dessert was delish and I'd def try the chocolate mousse next time as well. We luckily got seated at the front of the restaurant so it was nice and private plus it made for great people watching. I'd def come back!“
