“I had the fish, the red snapper fish, it was very good, a very large fish in a creole sauce with green plaintains and rice and beans. Very tasty, well done a little bit spicy,. For dessert I had the Kremas Ice cream with edible flower. Also I had a very warm spicy chai tea, delicious. All and all I was very pleased! Satisfied with the atmosphere, the service was very good, the waiters were very attentive to your needs and were prompt to serve us! Over all we had a great experience! “I came from Long Island and was excited to try plantain sandwiches from this restaurant, given that I've been seeing them on Instagram for a while and I like their concept. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a Bunnan employee named Aviana. She was very kind and recommended that I try the Sweet-Plantain boat with jerk chicken. It was delicious! The flavor and spice in the jerk chicken were amazing, and I enjoyed it so much that I ordered another one for later. I highly recommend it, 10/10.“

“I have been a massive fan of Bonbon Lakay since 2020. I got treats for my family, who haven’t been back to Haiti for almost 20+ years, that brought them right back to their childhood. I’ve gotten my birthday cake here for my 30th birthday, and I just ordered more treats for this Christmas.THIS review is long overdue, for the service I consistently get is impressive!!! For my birthday, when I realized I did not have time to pick up the cake, I coordinated an Uber to come pick up the cake and drop it off at the venue. Something happened with Uber, where they did not find the restaurant. Bonbon Lakay put the cake in a taxi for me free of charge. I was shocked when I found this out and beyond thankful!!!!!Their previous location was a little out of the way for me, but on my days off, I would take advantage, taking a long walk through Prospect Park all the way to Park Slope, and reward myself with something from Bonbon Lakay.In this new chapter, I hope this brings them more customers so they can spread more joy! “I was in the mood for Haitian food and found this spot. I called in my order of the fried turkey and black rice. There was a little language barrier, but she understood my order. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into the restaurant, and the food was ready. I paid about $18 for the medium size and left. When I dug in, the food was really good. I enjoyed the turker and the black rice. All in all I had a good experience.“

“I discovered this place about 2 months ago and I've gotten food almost every week. The griot and tassot are so good. You may feel like it's expensive at first but you get a lot of food for your money so it's well worth it. One order can feed two people. The food is also usually ready in 15-20 minutes and the owner is very nice.“
“I literally just ordered from here; the diri djoun djoun with fried chicken and a side of macaroni au gratin…. They also gave a fresh side green salad. Out of the whole meal my favs were the fried chicken(well down like I like it) the diri djoun djoun was bomb!!! And the salad was soooo fresh and delicious. TO ME AND I SAY TO ME cause everyone’s taste buds are different I didn’t like the macaroni au gratin too much cause one it had ground beef or turkey in it hard to tell being that it was well marinated into the macaroni au gratin and also in my opinion it was a lil dry (once again this is my opinion cause some might find it to be just right, whereas I like that oily and fattening macaroni au gratin taste). But do not not order it guys cause your guys may choose to differ when it comes to the macaroni au gratin. But other than that I enjoyed the food. Been a while since I had haiatian food that actually taste like Haitian food. Oh ye the ambiance is to die for fancy and upscale AF!!!! Definitely got themselves a loyal customer! ♥️“
