Music ranging from the late 60s to the early to mid 80s both Rock and country. Will definitely be returning!!!!!!“

“Definitely had an enjoyable brunch at Jacob’s Pickle. The drinks were delicious, and service was pretty good but I could tell the waitstaff were a bit stretched. I had the hot chicken biscuit, which was so delicious. The sandwich was huge, pickles were extraordinary, and the hot sauce they use is not only hot but also very flavorful. We had to purchase a bottle of hot sauce to go home, that’s how good it was! My husband got the chicken and pancakes, and the chicken was tasty but the pancakes were dry and thick. We will definitely be back and will just stick to the chicken, biscuits and pickles which you can’t go wrong with!“

The restaurant is nice and fancy looking, loved it!Started off with caviar—SO DELICIOUS!! We tried the Siberian Sturgeon ($75/25gr) and Classic Ostra ($95/25gr)—perfect portion for a light bite with drinks. “I love going to Gallaghers but it felt like the specialness was lackluster. The food was just ok, out of the 10 people that had dinner, 8 left some or most of the entree on the plate. Service was off, the waiter brought the wrong bottle of wine, came back and said they didn't have what we ordered and we ordered something else but he forgot to put it on the check. We did notify him before we paid and it was corrected. The restaurant was louder and tables seemed closer together. I still will go back to Gallaghers because every other time it has been 5 stars for everything but I don't think I will go back with a large group.Dietary restrictions: Handled allergies at the table very well.“

“The MOMA was our first stop on our recent trip to New York. I wasn't sure how the timing was going to work, so didn't make a reservation for The Modern and I was hoping we would be able to get walk in service. I also wasn't sure if we'd be able to get a full meal or just a snack as our dinner plans were rather early that evening.We decided to try and see what happened.Wow! I'm so happy we tried. We were helped through the locked door to The Modern by a very helpful staff member walking by, I was a bit shy to ask for help (I had already requested directions) and was met with a warm smile and enthusiasm. We were let into the locked door and walked down to the host stand.The hosts seemed really happy we were there :D Which was really nice, as I mentioned we hadn't made a reservation, so I was feeling a bit apprensive.We were shown to a table right away, after expressing we preferred a table to seats at the bar and got to take in the restaurant space.It's beautiful and it is exactly fitting to a modern art museum. It has a sophisticated and approachable atmosphere and it was obvious from the restaurant buzz that it was a true mix of clients - regulars, tourists, newbies - everyone was here.Our server was professional and polished and very helpful.We quickly realized that a full meal was not happening that visit, but we both absolutely needed a snack and some wine before we set out to find the art we were looking for.As we hadn't made reservations, we had the The Bar Room Menu, which suited us perfectly.My husband had the steak tartare, as it's one of his favourites. He was very impressed with the plating, loved the taste and kept talking about how there was something wonderful and minty on his plate.I had the friend chicken, honey and fries from the snack menu and it was beautifully presented in it's own chicken bucket :D and was wonderfully tasty. Too bad for me, I couldn't finish it all, so if you order this when you visit, be sure to share it with someone.We indulged in a glass of wine each with our snack, as it was mid-afternoon, no bottle for us. The wine by the glass menu has a great selection and is varied. We really appreciated it.Even though it was a brief visit, we greatly enjoyed it and hope to return another time for a full meal.“

“I love this original location of p.j. clarkes! i've been here so many times it's hard to rate just one time. the service is always on point and the food is consistent. an elevated gastropub menu focused on a raw/chilled bar. but don't skip the burger and the chicken pot pie, both is which are fantastic. the bar area is first come, first serve, and reservations are taken for the main dining. even without a reservation a wait for a table isn't that bad. plus the red and white checker table cloth is such a fun novelty. oh and did I mention the martinis are big, nice, and cold?“

We didn't have a reservation but got lucky - there were two seats at the bar when we arrived! The service was great, and the bartender talked us through some of the skin contact/natural options they had by the bottle and recommended one in particular. I'm glad we trusted her recommendation, because the wine was excellent, special. The space is cool - high ceilings, but dark and moody. Loved the ambiance. I'd happily return, drink another recommended bottle, and maybe even nosh on their cheese boards (which looked beautiful and delicious) before another show. “I had an incredible experience at Consulate restaurant in midtown Manhattan. The escargot and bone marrow were amazing, offering a true taste of French cuisine. The restaurant's beautiful design and atmosphere added to the overall experience. Okan, our server, was incredibly hospitable, and KAT, the manager, was fabulous and even helped me book an event. I recommend the pigs in a blanket, fries, and coconut cake. The burger was normal, and there is a quinoa burger for vegetarians. It wasn’t dry, but it was a little mushy when means it’s hand made! Overall, I think you should try it! The majority of the high pricing comes from the alcohol, expect to pay a premium. Oh, and I loved the calamari.Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator! “Ambiance and service 5/5. We had the absolute sweetest server who told us about being a singer songwriter and his creative experiences during COVID. He was just so nice and friendly and waited on us with such care even though we were only there for apps and drinks. Outside seating was lovely on a spring day! Food 5/5 for what we ordered but I wasn't in love with the menu options (4/5) and prices ($$-$$$). I absolutely loved the zucchini fries which came out piping hot and moist inside and a yuzu aioli dipping sauce which is why I had ordered it. My friend I dined with us a chef and he was impressed. We also got the broccolini, a classic dish, which was delicious. Mocktails 4/5 - we came to drink mocktails as both of us were not drinking. I would like to try some of the other mocktails if I come again. It's right by Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, so I could see how it's a great location to meet up before another activity.“

“I pass the Penrose frequently, a block from the 2nd Ave Q entrance on 83rd. It is a perfect spot to meet up after work for drinks and snacks. Good music, friendly atmosphere. I tell everyone, my husband and I had brunch with our wedding party there. Great place. Recently my dad passed, and when trying to decide where to celebrate his life with extended family and friends my sister and I decided on The Penrose and emailed the events manager Chaya. She helped with everything, never got tired or short with her answers. We would think of all our questions after we signed off. Chaya made recommendations, helped our ideas come to life, and made a difficult moment easy. Day of memorial: Chaya and her team created the perfect atmosphere. Our server Emma and bartender Audrey were exceptional. The guests kept telling us what great service, atmosphere and food, but repeated to us how great the servers were. We had 30 people, in the back area with tables and bar seating. Chaya helped us choose the right amount of food, and beverages. Emma kept the area clean with out being intrussive, Audrey kept us “hydrated”. We had a buffet food area - food was great!They put to go boxes out for guest to take treats home. Thanks to Chaya we were able to truly celebrate dad, she had his play list, which we provided pumped in and a slide show with his great life moments on the screen over the bar. He served in WWII, a decorated war hero, with great taste in music. They also insured the Honor Guard ceremony, presenting flag and playing of taps went off seamlessly. As I said in my first paragraph The Penrose is a great place, but on this day it was exceptional.
