“Went back to Doghouse after a long hiatus and was pleasantly surprised that nothing changed except the live Jazz music on Thursday nights! Very cool! Food was the usual good greasy type except HUGE portions! My cheesesteak was large and tasty as well as my girl's grilled chicken sandwich... def get your moneys worth! Service was spotty but acceptable but then again it's a hometown pub, what do you expect? Stop in on Thursday nights for the live Jazz, saves a trip into the city!!“

“My wife and I have dined at the Saddle River Inn many times. The food and service is outstanding. Last night we had crab cake and agnolotti with white truffle cream sauce as appetizers. They were both delicious! I enjoyed the Long Island Duck with lo mein, bok choy, shiitake, scallion, crispy rice, orange hoisin sauce as my entre'e. My wife had a pork chop filet special. While she enjoyed the combination of flavors in the dish, the pork was very "chewy". When she mentioned it to our server, he said that he was aware of it. He said that it was a new dish and had to be "tweaked". He offered to replace her meal but she declined. We shared strawberry cheese cake for desert, which was excellent. Without asking, the cost of my wife's entree was taken off our bill. We were pleasantly surprised by this gracious gesture, and plan to be back soon.“

“An absolutely abundant amount of choices, that All sound so delicious. What an incredibly unique menu. We were definitely overwhelmed on what to have. We had the taco Birria pancakes and mozzarella stick hamburger with mozzarella cheese fries. Both were delicious. The service was great, even though we got there just before closing, they didn't rush us. The inside reminds me of a 50's style dinner, so cool. We can't wait to go back and try other things with friends. Highly recommend if you like unique and creative foods.“

“I don't do very many google reviews, but wanted to share my experience at Madison Cafe today. I looked online and ordered a dish for take-out, noting the price of $10 on the menu I looked at. When I got there, a very pleasant guy gave me my order and charged me almost $19. I paid him first, then pointed out my concern about the price discrepancy, and was told that what I saw was a very old menu that was no longer valid. I said that the cafe should honor the price they display to the public on their website and it shouldn't be an issue for the customer if the wrong price is displayed, and asked to have the difference in price reimbursed to me. Understandably, he was not in a position to make that decision, so he called the owner, and after describing the situation put me on the phone with him. He precisely explained this issue that comes up with people taking pictures of menus and putting them on google in a way that is not "authorized" by the cafe, and that they've tried to get google to remove stuff like that, but to no avail. It's understandable how challenging this is for the business owner, and I agreed with the owner's comments about the pricing glitch. Making the decision to keep his customers happy, this fair-minded business owner said that my meal was on the house. He didn't have to do that-I was only asking for the difference to be returned to me, so kudos to this gentleman for his consideration, and I'll certainly patronize his establishment again. Thank you, sir for your gesture. BTW, the food was great!“

“When you travel, you seek to find outstanding restaurants. Sometimes you win, other times, you don't. The Hudson House is a great find, a winner at every turn! From our initial greeting by the owner, Matt, to the great staff who didn't miss a beat, to the most critical part, the food, there wasn't a moment of regret. We started with a couple of tables shares. We had cheese plate with 3 cheeses, homemade fig jam to die for, fresh thinly sliced honeycrisp apples, delicious grapes, and an oil-infused crustini. Perfect start, followed by the burrata and pumpkin seed salad with carmelized pears and sweet potato chunks. I didn't think it could get better after this. I tried the sweet potato and fennel soup, very warm and hearty on a cold night, and the taste was just as I hoped! A beet and farro salad with radishes hit the mark! My partner had a fresh halibut that was cooked to perfection, served on ramen noodles and baby bok choy, with an array of fresh mushrooms, with a gentle but flavorful broth, but not enough to be called soup. To me, one of the best fish dishes I've tasted in a long time. Our guests, the wedding couple, ordered duck breast confit, and hanger steak. The duck, one of her favorites, was tender, most, cooked properly and seasoned well. It was a hit with her and her mother. The hanger steak was the choice of the groom, a very picky eater. He couldn't stop reaching about how amazing it was! Sadly, we were so full, we couldn't eat dessert. All the desserts are homemade by the owner, and they sounded unbelievable. But I'll have to return another time to speak to them. Finally, ask to sit in the jail cell. The pictures tell only some of the story. It's a wine cellar, a hidden romantic getaway, a reprise of days long gone. Or have a seat at the bar with the locals. Or just come and see the beautiful tin ceiling and walls. No matter what you do here, you won't be disappointed.“

“The food here is excellent! I love when a chef has seasonal menus. We arrived the first night of their ‘Spring menu” and it was amazing. I had the crab cake appetizer and the scallops for my entree. The favorite thing I tried all night was the fried artichoke and calamari dish - omg a must try! My aunt had the cod for her entree which she loved. The portions are on the bigger side. The hostess, the staff, and Chef were all so friendly and welcoming!“

The service is great - the owner is welcoming (even once escorted our toddler to the c-store next door to buy some candy) and all the wait staff is great, especially Jason who is incredibly kind. Food is excellent quality and fairly priced for how good it is. Pastas are cooked perfect al dente. Great meat dishes especially the pork chop french cut. The desserts are quite good as well - love the coconut cake. Because it's not huge it isn't quiet but we've never found it to be uncomfortably loud and it has a great ambience.“

“I was in the area for a doctor's appointment and wanted to pick up some brekkie. I found Bagel Nosh close by. It was a Tuesday at around 9 am. I called ahead for pick up and my order was ready in less than 10 minutes, and piping hot. I ordered a sausage and cheese on a toasted everything wheat bagel, which hit the spot.l. Some places will only give you one sausage patty even when you don't order it with egg but this one came with two. The bagel itself was pretty good and they have more options than most places. It's a pretty heavy/greasy brekkie but you get a bang for your buck here, and it's nice for a once in a while treat.“

I really enjoyed the chicken rolls wrapped in bacon and stuff with provolone cheese. Don’t skip out on dessert, then Nutella and banana crêpes are homemade and a must try. I also enjoyed a very delicious strawberry margarita. The staff was very attentive, and the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The spot is great for a girls night out, date night, a family dinner. As soon as we took our first bite of the complementary (and addicting) warm black bean dip with fresh, salty tortillas we knew we were in for a treat! The tacos and salsas were super fresh and tasty. I love that they didn't try to overcomplicate anything - just extremely delicious food without the need for gastronomics and extra flair. Despite the crowd, mainly families with young children, and the noise, we eventually secured a table for four. Our orders included birria tacos and Mexican Elote from La Chula Taqueria, a burger with fries from Harlem Public, and a Dominican pizza from the renowned Wahizza. The food surpassed our expectations; my son particularly enjoyed the birria tacos and Mexican Elote. Personally, I found nostalgia in the Dominican Pizza, reminiscent of my childhood in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, my wife indulged in a frozen margarita from the bar, thoroughly relishing it. We got two half box orders of boneless thighs (original crispy and soy garlic/sweet & spicy), fries, and water. The chicken took about 15-20 minutes to cook, but it was well worth the wait. My son (the pickiest eater in the world) LOVED the boneless thighs, and even the French fries. I thought everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were all fantastic, with the soy garlic being my favorite. The fries were also some of the best fries I've ever had. Super crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The food also came with Cole slaw which was DELICIOUS, and I say this as someone who normally strays away from Cole slaw.Customer service was excellent. The woman at the front was very friendly and clear with describing the food. Their presentation was top notch also. The food was packaged beautifully and even the bag it came in was just really well designed. It was like opening a holiday gift of delicious food. I would highly recommend paying this place a visit, although you'll probably have to do take out since they have limited seating. “When my 5 yr old wants hot dogs randomly i thought of hanks franks from passing by so many times. Why not try it? You get a mom and pop feel. We ordered 2 dogs 1 with ketchup and 1 with cheese and cheesy fries.
