“I was recommended Sean Patrick's by family, so I decided to try it out. Overall, it was fine, and really, my only gripe was an obnoxious party filled with loud children screaming nearby. The staff clearly looked annoyed with them, so I think it wasn't something last minute and totally out of their hands. The food was good, I enjoyed the shepherd's pie and drink prices are very reasonable as well. Not to be taken negatively, but it seems like most of the crowd were older, so it's probably a quiet and easygoing atmosphere any other night. Our server was balancing a few tables and the party guests, but she was handling it very well and got our drinks and food to us in a timely manner. I'd recommend people to try it out.“
“Located in a strip plaza off Millersport Highway, Elmo's has been a reliable spot for lunch or dinner for at least 40 years that I can remember. They are as good today as they were in the 1980's, they remained open during Covid, and the quality has remained solid. Whereas chicken wings at most other establishments have been getting smaller in recent years, Elmo's continues to serve large, plump wings cooked exactly as you like them. In my case, I like them extra crispy with medium sauce. Their chili as they prepare and serve it is mild, but they will bring hot sauce to your table so you can make it as aggressive as you'd like. Their burgers are a decent size, they cook it exactly as you order it, and they are generous with the lettuce tomatoes and onions. For a dollar upgrade you can get onion rings instead of fries on the side and the onion rings are quite good. They don't have a huge selection of beers, but the beer they do carry is served, icy cold, in appropriate glasses, and their inventory turns over quickly, so you know you're getting fresh product. The bartenders mix a decent drink, not overflowing with ice. The restrooms are more than adequate. They have a dartboard for the patrons to use and very attentive waitresses and bus staff. They charge slightly less if you pay in cash. I have never been disappointed at Elmo's.“
“The food and was excellent our server was very nice and helpful. The only issue I have is the parking lot needs more lighting it was very dark out thereParking: The parking lot was very dark needs more lighting hard to see people that are walking to their cars“
“I usually don’t write reviews however this place deserves a 10 star review. The food is Instagram worthy and delicious. I will probably dream about how good the food was and this restaurant will officially be my weekly go to place. Great vibes, great food, great staff! I highly recommend stopping by!“
“Fun place with super nice staff and a great selection of brews! You "rent" a card per person with your credit card on entry. Grab a fresh glass and select and pour your own brew choice - whether an ounce or a full glass. A selection of wines and hard ciders were also available. Atmosphere is very casual and there is a lot of outdoor seating available in better weather. Food was good - pub style choices.Kid-friendliness: Not a place for kids, although I'm sure they are welcome...“
“The steak special was a grade 9 wagyu steak which is comparable to A5 Japanese wagyu and it definitely lived up to its name. It was very delicious insanely tender melt In your mouth steak with mushrooms and truffles grated on top. The waiter knew an enormous amount of information about the food on the menu and was able to answer all questions we had. I personally recommend you come here and let the chef work his magic it was an amazing meal. I will definitely be coming back here again.“
“Let's face it. You don't go to Sportsmen's Tavern for the food -- it's all about the music! This is an outstanding music venue which continues to spread through the community. But you may be surprised to learn the food is very good! I'm not sure if the kitchen is always open but be sure to order food when at Sportsmen's for the full experience.“
“We did a call ahead take out order for 9 people for lunch at the office. They were very efficient with taking the order and it was ready within 45 minutes. I believe I spoke with Thomas at pick up and he was super sweet and offered to help me carry the order out. I personally ordered the candied garlic burger and the flavors were incredible! No complaints from anyone regarding any of their orders!“
“This is very small restaurant on Sheridan Dr., near Millersport. There are 5 tables set for 2; 5 tables set for 4 and one table set for 8. I ordered the falafel wrap. It comes with hot-out-of-the-fryer fries. These were great. The very large wrap is filled with several falafel balls, tahini and chopped salad. It has been a while since I enjoyed falafel. This wrap did not disappoint. It was delicious.“
“My friend and I went there for drinks for the first time last night. We searched Googles for new cocktail bars in the area, and this place popped up. It was a great time. The cocktails were very well crafted. We didn't get food. The atmosphere was fun. A mix of the younger generation and older consumers were there. We had fun and also met up with a few other friends. Would highly recommend.“
“The guy at the bar was super friendly and informative about the drinks and gave me a detailed explanation about absinthe. The atmosphere was so chill and fun.Loved the lite brite and other games. It was so cool to see a free library in a bar.I will definitely be back when I'm in town.“
“Love this place on the north end of Conesus like Anthony is great behind the bar. Very laid back atmosphere. Great clientele. I’ve DJed there a few times and everyone is very receptive. I’m looking forward being back there on April 15th“
“Enjoyed the food a lot, not so much the place.I was pleased with them having vegan options! There's not too much parking and the place was absolutely packed out the door, causing me to order to go instead. I wouldn't go back due to how busy it is and the layout being inefficient.Looking forward to the new locations with more parking and better layout!Overall the good food outweighed the chaos inside, so will order take out for a pick up next time!Vegetarian options: There are a few vegan options!“
“Some of the nicest people in the industry at this place. Never had a bad meal, although did have something that was too spicy for me. Every person working there is exceptional, especially the owner and family. The atmosphere is creative, and they have live music some nights. The drinks are fun and inventive too, and there's Sunday brunch to boot!!! Solid choice.“
“We visited Blue Cave Restaurant for the first time! Everything was amazing. Their craft cocktails were delicious. Food presentation was beautiful and the taste was superb. Our serve was attentive but not overbearing. They have menu items labeled for gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. Highly recommend.“
“As a Canadian, I had high expectations for Buffalo chicken wings. We ordered the hot flavour and were not disappointed. Beer is ice cold... and we met the most lovely man named Matt ? was a great spot and felt totally comfortable like a local pub xo cheers to Matt you are a “
“The place has lots of cool Buffalo sports memorabilia. Lots of pic and jerseys lining the walls. Our server was so friendly and sweet. We split a few things since it was out 1st time here. Everything was served piping hot. The pickle chips were crispy and crunchy, with a nice dipping sauce, a little spicy but all tasty. The fries were cooked the way fries should be. Crispy outside, mashed potato like inside. The gravy served on the side was not very good. It was clumpy and not very tasty. The pulled pork(recommended by our fabulous server) was delicious, but I bit into a bone that damn near knocked my crown off. The server was very apologetic, and they even removed the sandwich from the check. (kind gesture that not a lot of places would do) The roast beef was good, but it was a bit overcooked for my taste. We really liked the atmosphere and the service, so we'll definitely return. You can't be perfect every day.“
“Updated 7/2/2023 We have been back several times over the years and it just keeps getting better! We were in last night and had some incredible food. The wine was amazing as always. If you haven't been and you are looking for noteworthy wine and delicious food this is the place to go. Can't wait to go back!!What a great find! Can't wait to go back, this will be our new spot. We had a couple of glasses of wine that was recommended by the bartender Pete - He was spot on! The wine selection was simple but high quality, something for everyone. Nice beer selection for the non wine drinker. The atmosphere of the venue was cozy and welcoming. The outdoor area was not open due to the cold but that looked cute as well. We will definitely be back and can't wait for the warm weather to sit on the patio.“
“Truly a special place. Unlike any other bar. Bartender was friendly and chatted us up. Open mic night was fun and it’s clearly an institution-full of regulars and the fact that we didn’t feel unwelcome was nice. Worth a visit just to check out what decades of people adding art and memorabilia on the walls can create.“
“Cozy neighborhood eatery and bar. The staff are friendly and make you feel like a regular on your first visit. The wings are great. Good buffalo sauce and crispy, blue cheese is really good, and I'm a buffalo wing snob. Atmosphere sings old buffalo with antiques and vintage photos.“
“We had an absolutely amazing experience for our friend’s bachelorette party this weekend. Our instructor, Sam, has such amazing energy and made our whole experience such a blast. Loved the atmosphere, food, drinks, and staff. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Buffalo!“
“My father in law took me here and I've never had better wings in my life and as a lifelong Buffalonian I know my wings. Prices are out of this world reasonable and the atmosphere is great, tvs everywhere so you won't miss any breaking sports is a plus.“
“Food is never a disappointment! Burgers are massive. Local favorite. The place is small and fills up quick during peak meal time. Quick service. CASH ONLY! I had a craving for a burger. They were able to accommodate my takeout order because it wasn't busy yet. Thank you- it hit the spot!“
“The food and service were wonderful. The bar was way too small, it only fit the couples. The upstairs bar was closed which was large and a much better set up. This was unfortunate because the bartenders skills were great. Close the downstairs one and open upstairs. You'll attract a younger crowd up there. The beef tartare was my favorite dish of the night but my lobster was also great.“
“The exact embodiment of an Irish Pub you'd imagine if someone asked you to think of the ideal Irish pub, except without the stereotype redhead with green eyes at the door. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food was decent, drinks served fast, and probably the best spot to take a date on Saint Paddy's (which I failed to do).Edit to add: each time I've been by here, Megan has been hostess/server. She's great! Instantly personable, relatable, a delight. If you can afford to spend a bit, the Banshee is really the best little spot to hang out. The charm of the space, and the staff, makes each visit deeply satisfying.Parking: There are a number of paid parking lots and paid parking garages in the area, but it's smack in the middle of downtown, so expect to pay for your time there. Ride services and cabs are ideal anyway, to prevent bad judgement after a few pints. To be honest, parking right in front of the building on Franklin St is *supposed* to be city street parking with meters, but some ppl have said they park there constantly and never pay anything (at least not in the afternoon/evening). Your call if you want to risk it. You can also pay $30 for the lot next door, if you really need some peace of mind.Wheelchair accessibility: Although the upper floors won't be accessible, the ground floor doors are accessibly wide and swing light on their hinges. The bathrooms can be a little snug to get thru the doors, but there are of course accessible stalls when thru those.“
“Honestly some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. My fiancé and I just found this restaurant by luck and it made our whole trip! Our server Nicole was incredible and I know our experience wouldn’t have been the same without her. Highly recommend and I know we will be back soon! ☺️“
“Somehow over the years I just never made it to this bar until recently and I had a very good time! I actually didn't think I would ... it was trivia night and I love hearing my favorite songs on the speakers instead, there was a cute dog roaming I'm allergic too, and only one person tending drinks, quick draw, and food. Yet I had an awesome time after all! Props to the woman working all jobs behind the bar because I don't know how she did it but we NEVER waited for a drink or shot! One friend was playing quick draw and had no problems paying or cashing in. And they ordered wings that did not go to waste. My allergies never bothered me despite the dog. We played darts all night which was really fun and no issues with cheap broken dart tips. I look forward to coming again when in the area.“
“My son and I love 99 Brick Oven. He always gets the margarita pizza and cheesy garlic bread. I try to try some different menu items. Food is always amazing. Staff is always amazing. When they first opened I called to ask about the pizza because my son if very picky. They told me if he didn't like the pizza it would be free. He LOVED the pizza!! We love sitting outside on the patio regardless of weather.“
“Scared to review, don't want this spot becoming too popular.. Not a hidden gem since it's right on Niagara. But I absolutely love coming here. The atmosphere is perfect, always. Great staff and awesome prices. We love the bathrooms, very hot. Get a panini!! Get a few drinks!! You'll be back ;)“
“My family came here looking for a place to eat and this ended up being a sleeper hit! This is basically an Applebee's but obviously way better! The food was very good. I could not believe the portion sizes though. With the prices they charge for the food, it's basically a steal. I honestly wish there were Tully's back downstate. Definitely worth bringing your family and friends to!“
“Steve, our bartender was great! Wonderful selection of beers. You can't miss ordering the house wings. The bar and eating space is roomy and bathrooms are clean. The outside tables make it a super-friendly atmosphere.I haven't been there on Wing Wednesdays but it looks like I'll be there soon for $1 wings and $3 Utica Club drafts!!!“
“Small, clean and fun, this cozy venue offers excellent service at an extremely reasonable price. Modern jukebox and clean restrooms.Entertainment on some nights including outstanding karaoke on Tuesday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m..You don't need a lot of money or talent to have a great time here!“
“Phenomenal! I had heard amazing things about Hutch's for years and finally made it in for a surprise birthday dinner from my friends. Each and every one of us absolutely loved and raved over our meals and drinks. Some of the freshest oysters and a delicious meatball to start our night, with espresso martini's and wine. I had the pork chop special with pear chutney and WOW, the biggest and moist cut of pork I've had with an amazing flavor profile. I had the fruit cookie for dessert and it was absolutely divine. Our server, Amanda, was so friendly and helpful, suggesting apps, working with my friend to find the perfect red wine for her, and even humoring my other friend to pick a meal and surprise her- and she picked well! Good service makes all the difference and we can't say enough about her and the atmosphere here. I have friends who routinely come to Hutch's and all I can say is I've been influenced and hope to return much more frequently! Thanks for an amazing dinner experience to celebrate my 30th!“
“How can you not LOVE a place that brings a food truck every Thursday, serves more varieties of beer than you can count, has great tenders behind the pine, AND let's you bring your dog?!?! It's my favorite spot in Kenmore, hands down.Parking: It's not a huge lot because of the outdoor deck, but Delaware and Shepard have plenty of spotsWheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and wide doors“
“Great placeThe the food was good except the yellow pipe fingers and give you plenty of calamari it is so good with arugula I recommend this restaurant to anyone but you should make reservations ahead of time if you canVegetarian options: And they also offer vegetarian meals you have to ask for it thoughDietary restrictions: I have reduced sodium meals no saltWheelchair accessibility: My sister need it to be in a handicap parking zone and it was right there in front of the restaurant we were able to go up the ramp and go right in“
“Love Duff's wings. Always huge and cooked to perfection. Great service too! Only reason they don't get 5 stars is the prices. They remain very high even though chicken wing costs have come down. Don't go there as often as I used to because of it. Who can afford $2 per wing? Hoping that changes at some point.“
“Great atmosphere, great staff. Had the ribeye, asada and pork belly tacos and split chips, queso and elote. Asada taco was good, queso was a bit too salty and was the 1st thing we had so it may have stepped on the other food a bit. Best thing was mixing queso into elote and dipping chips into it. Together they were Great! Would absolutely go back.“
“We came for the fish fry. The server was friendly, attentive, and willing to take time to tell us about the history of the place. The fish was cod, not haddock. It was tender and spot on flakey. That itself was a very pleasant change from a lot of other places. We will be back soon.“
“Yesterday my Gigi and I found this place. We were in town for a dance competition at sheas and didn’t know the restaurants around. We started walking and by the grace of god found this amazing place! First of all the atmosphere is amazing. The staff was friendly. Our server (I wish I had gotten her name) was probably the best server I have ever had. then came the food. Oh my god! The ricotta gnocchi is literally bites of heavenly clouds in your mouth. Moral of story probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had (and I’m picky) this place will now be my favorite restaurant. I will happily travel from Fredonia to come here!“
“I had the carnitas it was delicious. It was served with rice, pico di gallo, beans and tortillas shells and it was excellent. My sister had the supreme quesadilla and it was delicious as well. My husband had the beef chimichangas and really enjoyed them. They where crispy and equally delicious. Our waiter was incredible and took great care of our table. We had a wonderful meal and excellent experience.“
“Missed out on the kitchen but stayed to enjoy a couple brews. The bartender was attentive and made sure my beer selections were in alignment with my preferences. I like to start with a light blonde, enjoy the taste of a nice red, and end with a thick & sweet stout or lager.“
“Omg,Me and girlfriend went for brunch this morning and William was our server William was awesome, from the way he described certain menu items, to customer service. The food was awesome. I will definitely come back and try dinner service next time “
“The Place" on Lexington Avenue in Buffalo, NY, is steeped in history and local culture. It began its journey in the late 1870s, initially as a saloon opened by Jacob Beier. Located in a then-rural district north of Buffalo's main city area, the establishment served as a convenient stop for both businessmen and workers. Over the years, the saloon witnessed changes in ownership and shifts in cultural influences, transitioning from German to Irish hands.During the early 1900s, under Christoph Piller's ownership, it operated as "Piller's Cafe". Despite facing challenges like the Prohibition era, the cafe continued its operations. In the 1940s, Bernie Flynn took over, renaming it "The Place" and adding signature elements like the ruby red and India turquoise walls. Bernie Flynn introduced popular items like "Flynnie's Thinnie" sandwiches and the Tom & Jerrys, a warm holiday drink, which became synonymous with The Place. After Bernie Flynn, the business was taken over by Edward "Buddy" Flynn, who maintained many of the establishment's traditions. The Place was known for its unpretentious atmosphere, popular tavern food, and simple drinks, drawing large crowds, especially during the holidays. The Place temporarily closed in May 2015 but was soon rejuvenated by Jay McCarthy, Kevin Brinkworth, and Elizabeth "Betty" Brinkworth. They renovated the space, balancing the preservation of its historic charm with modern upgrades. This included retaining features like the mahogany wood walls and the original ceiling while adding new elements such as a copper bar top.Today, The Place offers a nostalgic reflection of Buffalo's past, blending classic ambiance with old-time charm. It remains a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, especially with its additions like a porch and open-air patio. The tradition of serving "Thinnie Flynnie" sandwiches and the Tom & Jerry holiday punch continues, keeping the spirit of The Place alive.“
“I fear leaving this review because I don't want the place ruined I loved it so much. Step back in time without all the pretension to a classic hometown bar. The owner Greg was bartending and filled us in on the history of the place having closed in the 80s until he opened up in the 2000s. There's no having to pretend to be old timey, the vinyl on the bar, the stools, and the walls covered in Utica Club and Schlitz is authentic to the place. We went for the Tom & Jerry's and I have to say they are one of the best in town, unlike a lot of places though they aren't pushing out big batches of the batter so you want to get there early to make sure you don't miss out! They serve them until new years. We weren't there long before the friendly patrons offered to get us a shot, everyone was so inviting and made us feel so welcome. Greg too. We plan to make it a regular stop even outside Tom and Jerry season!“
“Old school bar for the locals with plenty of fair. Insane amount of TVs for watching fames. It is a huge but small Bills bar. Drinks are super cheap but CASH ONLY. 2 entrances front and back and parking is simple. Short menu did not eat here. Definitely a besk kept secret and the patrons are friendly as ever.“
“I was very surprised to see the ratings for this place! This was honestly the best pollo con crema I have ever had. Sometimes with Mexican restaurants it will just be quest and chicken. But this was so flavorful with a bunch of other stuff added. The drinks were good too, definitely a little pricey. Our server was the best ever! We came on the day of the eclipse, so it was super busy. However, she was the sweetest person, and everyone at the table agreed. Since this place is right on Elmwood, I would totally come back a agin for the pollo con crema alone!“
“Vegetarian options: Ask the head chef or someone who knows the menu before you order.Kid-friendliness: It's a bar/restaurant but people have kids in there all the time, hopefully they got fed.Wheelchair accessibility: The kitchen and main bar are all on the first floors you have to make it through 2 doors, so if you're in a wheelchair hopefully someone opens the doors for you out of politeness because there are no 'automatic' doors.“
“Every single time. Every time! We have the best food, best service, best experience. It is the perfect escape for lunch and dinner. You can tell I’m obsessed. The pineapple habanero, the quesadillas, THE FISH TACO! And duh, margs, top shelf, top experience, Grace Anne is my FAVORITE part. I can’t say enough about this place. If you need to ask, don’t- just go.“
“*EDIT 3/5/24*Been a few more time since my recent review and the wings have been absolute ? lately. The last 5 times I've been were right on par with some of the best wings around town. Sauces are spot on, big fan of the hot-cajun and bbq-cajun. Service has been exceptional as well. Boosting up to a 5 star now since the last 5+ times I've been have all been perfectBeen to this place twice now since Ive been told best wings in WNY. My first time was a major letdown, I did the Double Dip with Cajun and Honey Mustard, the wings were so overcooked that all I tasted was other leftover food from the char marks. I wanted to give them another try because I always feel like these types of bars have mediocre food during the days and then they step up at night when the rush comes in so I went in again on a wknd night and ordered the Cajun-Medium Double Dipped. Once again, I ran into 3-4 of the wings extremely overcooked but the other ones were 100% spot-on, flavor was killer and the chicken was on point. Only if I could get a full order of decently cooked wings then my review would be higher. Also docking a bit of a point because I was told their top shelf whiskey was Seagrams 7... I mean, I get its a local bar but really?Positives were that the bartenders were all super friendly and were flying around the bar. There was a large wait for bigger groups to get tables but that is expected on a Friday night in a smaller location like this. Parking lot was a zoo with people trying to find spots. Ample televisions on to watch the game and overall seems like a fun local spot. All in all, Id recommend stopping in if you are in the area. Its a good group of people but the Wings just haven't left their mark on me (yet). Im hoping that changes though.Overall 3.5/5“
