We got the goat dum biriyani, and it might be the best biriyani we’ve ever had, as it was truly authentic (they cut it open in front of you) and was jam-packed with flavor. A lot of biriyanis go light on the rice flavors; this one definitely didn’t - we felt ourselves devouring the biriyani INCREDIBLY fast. Our waiter kept checking in on us, and we had fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly service. We also got the chicken vindaloo, and it was very good and spicy, which we enjoyed. We were there near closing, and we didn’t feel rushed at all, and it was heartwarming to see the chefs and staff all sit and eat together after the kitchen had closed, joking and having fun. 10/10 would recommend - this is a hole in the wall joint worth repeat visits - you can feel a sense of kinship the second you enter!“

“Baingan bartha & Dal tadka are 10/10. The baingan bartha is easily their top dish, super rich, with the right amount of sour + sweet + spice. The dal tadka is so wholesome, a little high on garlic. I would recommend the “desi spice” level as the flavors can be a bit mellow otherwise. The paneer was okay - not the softest and the flavors are pretty typical. 20% tip is mandatory and included.“
“We attended a Bengali wedding event here just this past week for the Gaye Holud ceremony. The event space and staff were absolutely wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and we had an extremely smooth experience. The food was well prepared and delicious. They were able to cater to both a Western and South Asian palette. “The food and service here were pretty spectacular! The Achari mushrooms and Cauliflower Manchurian were my favorite appetizers! (I'm a meat lover so I'm amazed at how they made Cauliflower taste like Sesame Chicken!!) For entrees, I would highly recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh, so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor! Also, the Tandoori Salmon is a must have because it was seasoned, smoked and cooked to perfection!! Beba was our server and she was so patient and kind with a group who couldn't make up their minds! And lastly, please check out the bartender (I think his name was Sean, but I could be way off :/...I blame the a-a-alcohol..) He makes a mean cocktail and he is not at all stingy with the good stuff ?.“

I usually get Indian food in Astoria along 30th Ave. None compare to Cardamom. They are not huge and doesn’t seat many, but it is clean, well decorated and the staff is friendly and attentive.I had the lamb methi curry, vegetable samosa, naan and mango lassi. All were perfectly delicious and beautifully presented.If I were to have one complaint it would be that the methi curry could’ve been spicier since I ordered at the highest spice level and found it to be just mild. The gentleman whowas running the place is extremely professional and helpful. He allowed me to sample 4-5 pieces of the sweet itself. I ended up buying 4 small boxes and 2 big boxes. The service was fast and great, food was amazing as always (we got Gobi Manchurian Dosa and Spinach Masala Dosa this time). “I visited De Tandoori Knight on a Saturday 4/6/24. I was dining alone. The customer service was excellent. The restaurant was small but very clean and organized. The prices were excellent and the portions were great. I ordered Chicken Korma with Basmati rice, regular Naan bread and a Mango Lassi. The chicken was very tender, the sauce was creamy, delicious and not spicy. The Naan was good. I loved the Lassi. I had leftovers. I will definitely be returning. I am Puerto Rican and grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Growing up here there were no Indian restaurants. So happy to see more Indian restaurants now. I've been eating Indian food for about 20 years. To my Latinos try Indian food you might just love it. Not all dishes are Spicy. Visit this restaurant you may just love it like I did.“

We tried a bunch of dishes including beef momos, chicken momos with johl on the side, lollipop chicken, 2 orders of garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, the Nepalese goat curry dish, and beef chow mein. We came here for the momos and we're honestly a bit disappointed. They weren't as juicy as some of the Momo trucks we tried. No white or hot sauce to drizzle either. We never had johl before (+$2 charge which we weren't aware of). The johl is served cold which surprised us. We really liked the chicken lollipop, garlic naan, and beef noodles. Everything was served super hot. Solid spot if you're looking to try Nepalese food for the first time but it is lacking a bit in flavor...“

Samosas were fresh and crunchy on the outside. Lamb biryani was delightful, not too herbaceous but well balanced and nice meat chunks.I'll be back soon to try the Indian fusion pizza! “It was our first time here and we loved the vibe. Very Indian decor, walls donned with Indian newspapers, brought back memories from home. Super friendly owners. We started off with keema pav- delicious, spicy and great portion size. We then got chicken dum biryani and Lal Maas curry, both of which were delectable. It definitely a small spot, with limited space. The paneer chili was well made but the paneer itself lacked flavor! the Himalayan Thalia offered a few different things including a fondue - esque dip, fried dough, and potato, bean soup! I was not a fan and won't order this again. The veggie dumplings with potato, cheese and spinach wasn't my favorite - it was a bit sweet, which I found odd Service: great service! “I ate at Punjabi Kabab House with the family. My daughter in law is Indian and knew what to order. We started with mixed kabob platter and it's was delicious! Be sure not miss the onions on the bottom of the cast iron skillet. Other great traditional dishes we enjoyed were chicken makhani, saag paneer, chhole, and Kashmiri lamb! Service was cute and be patient because everything is made fresh.“
