“I am a legit basic Benny... nobody, and I don't really rock with saying nice things, bout random Joe's, but I'm g'won have to admit that sometimes I may possibly have a bad attitude. On the muscle peeps... Drew lil daddy dot com (bartender/host) and his colluege (bartender/host), Lexi were absolutely flawless during my interactions with them. I have to admit that I was kinda in a salty mood, but these 2 wonderful people made me feel way unsalty. They didn't just try to make me feel better. They were just basic Benny nice people. I enjoyed our conversations and their pleasant demeanor, including the manner in which they interacted with me. Keeping it a , they're really nice people. I suggest that you come see for yourself on a random Friday night. They are both extremely quality human beings. Drew (he/him) has an old school Orville Wright mustache, and Lexi (she/her) has the fleekest eyebrows in at least my hood. I'm bout that life, so I know bout fleek eyebrows. Please excuse me for any spelling or grammatical errors in this post“

Half Pint Pub Pubs • $
363 Park Ave, Rochester

“Cute little place with a nice rotation of beers. They strive to have a constant rotation, and some of the beers you can have in a half pint at half the price of a pint. Most bars charge a few dollars more for smaller beers (basically a half pint is more expensive per ounce over a pint at other places). A lot of these beers are tough to find in Rochester, so if you find something you like there you may want to go back sooner than later cause they will probably have a new great beer within a couple of weeks. Also, staff here are always and and attentive.“

Dicky's Corner Pub Family • $
791 Meigs St #2137, Rochester

“Our first time at this place. We heard the fish fry was good and it was. As was the broiled haddock. We sat at the bar and were very pleased with the two bartenders as well as the hostess/waitress. All hard working and friendly. The vibe is nice too. The bartender said the place has been a bar since the 1800's and Dicky's for decades. A good mix of young and old in the crowd. We definitely will be back and recommend it to others.“

“Great atmosphere with very good pool players. Melissa(Mel) has a unique touch of service - she ensures every drink rests beautifully on a coaster. I have observed her overtime, and she's meticulously consistent at it. Even when you change seats, she brings you a new coaster. This subtle but professional etiquette makes her standout. Overall, service is excellent!!“

“The Angry Goat Pub may just be my favorite bar in Rochester. The food and service alone make this one of the best neighborhood bars you can find. As a self-proclaimed garbage plate enthusiast and expert, Angry Goat Pub is in my top 3 favorite plates in Rochester. The main difference between this plate and others you can find in Monroe County is that the homefries are swapped for garlic Parmesan fries, and the meat sauce has goat cheese stacked on top. It's just so good and filling- I had it yesterday and I still haven't felt the feeling of hunger in almost 24 hours. Also importantly, Angry Goat's kitchen is open very late, which is the perfect time to eat one of their plates. The service has also consistently been great. Sometimes at dive bars getting served on a busy night can be a hassle, but here we have been treated very well and served efficiently. There has also been live music here on a pretty consistent basis, but I haven't seen anything like that here. For those looking for a neighborhood bar in the South Wedge, this is definitely the spot to be. Street parking can be a bit of a hassle, so just be careful if driving in.“

“I haven't been here since before Covid and they were on Titus Ave. It was family night for a fish fry. I remember them having the best fish fry's. We got 4 orders with fries and coleslaw. The fish fry's and fries were very good. The fish was a good size and very crispy which I really like. The fries were good. The coleslaw was terrible. Idk what they did to it but we couldn't eat it. Non of us ate it it was that bad. It sucks but I won't be going back for their fish fry just because of the bad coleslaw. We also ordered a appetizer of potato skins with was very good. Service was great. We went early and was served right away“

L&M Lanes Pubs • $

“This is a tiny, cute bowling alley! After moving to Rochester, I feel like Radio Social was the place that was pushed as "the bowling place". We found this spot on a weekday evening. We called and were able to walk in and rent a lane. Prices are so reasonable here and there is a Happy Hour too with GREAT deals! Free shoes included in the rental. Everyone is very nice here.I will say, it is a TINY place so may fill up fast (only a few lanes available). There is street parking available. It checks all the boxes here and is a great casual place to go. I would definitely come back.“

Cardtronics Fish & Chips •

“Recently stopped in for a fish fry. The size of the fish was as expected, but the breading (instead of being nicely browned, it was almost dark brown) was over cooked and had no flavor. The fries and cole slaw (could have used more) were great. On another visit, had the Rueben and it was one of the best I've ever had. Service staff is always wonderful!“

Salinger's Bar • $
107 East Ave, Rochester

“The bar has fun arcade games and a good crowd. But I come from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia PA, where the music goes from hip hop to funk to country to soft rock to rap to reggae to golden oldies. It seems like salingers and all the bars neighboring it ONLY play county music.. and no one ever dances. Just a bar full of people standing around. But good staff and fun people. The nonstop country just gets old, but this seems to be a New York State issue, not just Salingers“
