“We could not be happier with how our evening turned out at Olar Noso.A pretty place located right off of Tappan road, there’s ample parking and not a long wait time around 20:00 to be comfortably seated. The restaurant is spacious, lively but not noisy, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Liv, our server, was on point with giving explanations and suggestions on the entrees. We absolutely loved the Salad: I think it consisted of: shredded ricotta salata, pear, pomegranate, arugula, walnuts, and farro (wheat berries), yum, a perfect symphony of flavors which has become one of my favorite dishes. The three of us ordered to share, we commenced with the Gnocchetti "Little pillows" of goat cheese and ricotta with hand-crushed organic tomato, caramelized eggplant, basil, ricotta salata, we found it to be a perfect combination of flavors with every bite. Next were the pizzas; Soppressata pizza topped withtomato, mozzarella, Soppressata, chili oil and honey (the added honey complimented the chili oil). Next, I was outvoted to try the pistachio pizza.. I’ve never had this in my life and asked Liv (as a fellow foodie) for guidance… with mixed reviews, it was decidedly my least favorite, however, it would be interesting to try it with pistachio nuts in a 60/40 blend (in a Vitamix) with ricotta as a spreadable topping (similar to the way a Nutella pizza is prepared). The food was amazing, you can tell their heart is in courtship with creativity by their constant pursuit to invent new and well balanced entrees (with lots to choose from). It’s great to see the way the restaurant blends locally sourced and seasonal ingredients into new creations bringing the farm to table experience for their patrons to enjoy. I would absolutely recommend this place and look forward to visiting again.“

“Where do I begin?!!! I have been trying to get a reservation at Tentempie Madrid & finally received my call for a table... The Owner Carlos called to discuss his availabilities and mention that Tentempie Madrid is a traditional tapas with only small plates, NO MAIN COURSE and house wines and beer... Loved the call, perfect table for two at 7:30!My boyfriend and I were greeted by the Owners wife, and seated right away... She was just as lovely! What a great duo!! My boyfriend & I could be wrong BUT they seemed to be the only two running the magic over there... And they do it very very well!!!!! What a treat we were in for!!!FOOD: 5 STARS! We started off with drinks, we were unsure of which wine or beer to go with and Carlos's wife had no problems letting us taste them so we enjoyed what we ordered... LOVED THAT!!! There were so many choices... After we made our decision we put ourselves in the mindset to sit back relax & not RUSH.... Seems like (well i'll speak for myself as an American) we RUSH through everything... For food we did order the paella (made to order and takes about 55 minutes) again NO RUSHING, enjoy your wine, tapas in between, & your company.... Every dish we ordered, the flavors just took us right to Spain! We had the Jamon Iberico (order that!) the SHRIMP!!!! I'm still thinking about it, and every other dish!!!!!SERVICE: 5 STARS! Top notch!!! She didn't skip a beat with us or any other table for that matter! Very impressiveATMOSPHERE: 5 STARS! Small intimate piece of gold! Barrel high-tops and a few tables... The bathroom was spotless, that's a thing for me...After dinner service was complete, Carlos who is also the Chef checked in with every table with his lovey wife and offered us a traditional house after tapas drink (i can not remember the name, but it was so good!)Also, I did ask the Owner her name... It was a very beautiful name that I have a hard time pronouncing and unsure how to spell. (my apologies that I keep referring to her as "she")Thank you guys for such an unforgettable night.“

“I recently visited Sofrito in Harlem with friends for a delightful dinner and drinks experience. The ambiance, with views overlooking Riverside Drive and the water, was truly breathtaking. Plus, their valet parking for only $20 was a convenient perk given the area's parking challenges. Now, onto the main event – the food! I opted for the whole pernil with rice, beans, and sweet plantains, priced at $40. The portion size was generous and utterly satisfying. We also indulged in their chicken, beef, and Cuban empanadas, all bursting with flavor. Personally, I couldn't get enough of the beef and Cuban varieties. The Chuletas De Cerdo were juicy and impeccably seasoned, while the chicharrón de pollo and carne frita were equally enjoyable. The atmosphere, enhanced by a DJ spinning classic and current hits, made for a memorable experience. While the service was quick, we felt a bit rushed out by our server(s), which was slightly disappointing. Additionally, some dishes were a touch too salty for my taste, and the tables near the windows felt a bit cramped. However, despite these minor drawbacks, I would still highly recommend Sofrito for a fantastic dining experience in Harlem.Parking: $20 for valet“

“I can't believe I lived in Washington Heights for so long and never visited La Casa del Pollo. The chicken always smelled so good but I never found an occasion to go. I was feeling a bit homesick for Dominican food today so I decided to stop by on my way home since it was on the way. While this the rotisserie chicken, they also sell other platters. I'm not sure if the menu changes daily but they had a display of cooked meats and rice ready to go. All of the meat, including grilled and stewed chicken, roasted pork (pernil), steak and meatballs all looked appetizing. They don't have the prices listed in the window so you have to just ask since it's not by weight. I'm sure they have a menu somewhere but when I walked in I just had to ask the lady at the counter. She took care of me right away and packed up a lunch size platter of the pernil (note that lunch platters are available even outside of "lunch" time) and a whole rotisserie chicken meal. Both meals were huge portions, enough to eat multiple times easily. It was an incredible value for the price. When I got home to eat it, the chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful. My fiancé devoured the pernil and Moro too. He loved it. Overall, this place isn't anything fancy by any means but the food alone makes it worthy of five stars. It's super delicious and affordable. I again enjoyed the food and this time so did the others. No complaints here. La Reina has been around a few years, and appears to be holding their own amongst the other neighborhood Latin restaurants within the area. Our orders have been tasty and seem to be freshly made. We haven't dined in, so uncertain if that's an option. Driving by, their inside seems tiny, though their outward appearance is rustic and inviting. It is important to note, food-wise we are not in The Heights where full on authenticity is prevalent. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the Spanish chicken. The menu boasted a variety of flavorful dishes, each showcasing the chef’s expertise in combining traditional Spanish flavors with a modern twist. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside with a crispy, golden exterior that left my taste buds dancing. The appetizers were equally impressive, with options ranging from patatas bravas to chorizo croquettes. Each bite was a burst of Spanish authenticity. The chef’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients was evident, enhancing the overall dining experience. The drink menu featured a well-curated selection of Spanish wines and cocktails that complemented the meal superbly. The sangria, in particular, was a refreshing choice that added to the festive atmosphere of the restaurant. What truly stood out was the attention to detail in presentation. Each dish was a work of art on the plate, showcasing the chef’s dedication to not only taste but also aesthetics. As for the dessert, the churros were a delightful way to end the meal.
