“There is not much variety of food, the atmosphere is good but there is no place to give celebration surprises, I didn't like that. I went to celebrate my first year anniversary and I couldn't give the surprise because they didn't do that there. That's what I liked. I'm quite disappointed.“

“I had one of the greatest dining experiences at this restaurant a few weeks ago. Everything I expected from a great restaurant was available here. We were greeted at the door. Decided to sit at the bar. Bartender was very friendly and professional. The menu had a ton of options. We decided to go with the mussels and skirt steak. Just amazing. Mussels with fresh and steak was cooked exactly how we ordered. The bread was so delicious we ordered twice - slightly toasted and warm and soft on the inside, perfect for dipping with broth. “We could not be happier with how our evening turned out at Olar Noso.A pretty place located right off of Tappan road, there’s ample parking and not a long wait time around 20:00 to be comfortably seated. The restaurant is spacious, lively but not noisy, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Liv, our server, was on point with giving explanations and suggestions on the entrees. We absolutely loved the Salad: I think it consisted of: shredded ricotta salata, pear, pomegranate, arugula, walnuts, and farro (wheat berries), yum, a perfect symphony of flavors which has become one of my favorite dishes. The three of us ordered to share, we commenced with the Gnocchetti "Little pillows" of goat cheese and ricotta with hand-crushed organic tomato, caramelized eggplant, basil, ricotta salata, we found it to be a perfect combination of flavors with every bite. Next were the pizzas; Soppressata pizza topped withtomato, mozzarella, Soppressata, chili oil and honey (the added honey complimented the chili oil). Next, I was outvoted to try the pistachio pizza.. I’ve never had this in my life and asked Liv (as a fellow foodie) for guidance… with mixed reviews, it was decidedly my least favorite, however, it would be interesting to try it with pistachio nuts in a 60/40 blend (in a Vitamix) with ricotta as a spreadable topping (similar to the way a Nutella pizza is prepared).The food was amazing, you can tell their heart is in courtship with creativity by their constant pursuit to invent new and well balanced entrees (with lots to choose from).It’s great to see the way the restaurant blends locally sourced and seasonal ingredients into new creations bringing the farm to table experience for their patrons to enjoy. The Owner Carlos called to discuss his availabilities and mention that Tentempie Madrid is a traditional tapas with only small plates, NO MAIN COURSE and house wines and beer... Loved the call, perfect table for two at 7:30!My boyfriend and I were greeted by the Owners wife, and seated right away... She was just as lovely! What a great duo!! My boyfriend & I could be wrong BUT they seemed to be the only two running the magic over there... And they do it very very well!!!!! What a treat we were in for!!!FOOD: 5 STARS! We started off with drinks, we were unsure of which wine or beer to go with and Carlos's wife had no problems letting us taste them so we enjoyed what we ordered... LOVED THAT!!! There were so many choices... After we made our decision we put ourselves in the mindset to sit back relax & not RUSH.... Seems like (well i'll speak for myself as an American) we RUSH through everything... For food we did order the paella (made to order and takes about 55 minutes) again NO RUSHING, enjoy your wine, tapas in between, & your company.... The food portion is generous an prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. I usually get the half chicken. The chicken seasoning is good and I like the smoky grill flavor, but I find that the meat can be quite dry and tough.“

The shrimp and rice was okay. The rice was amazing however the shrimp lacked seasoning. Tasted like it was steamed without any additives. The drinks were mid, not too strong but not weak.Downside, the restaurant was empty and it was late and the music was extremely loud to where you can’t hold much conversation with whoever you may be sitting with. Plus, their valet parking for only $20 was a convenient perk given the area's parking challenges.Now, onto the main event – the food! I opted for the whole pernil with rice, beans, and sweet plantains, priced at $40. The portion size was generous and utterly satisfying. We also indulged in their chicken, beef, and Cuban empanadas, all bursting with flavor. Personally, I couldn't get enough of the beef and Cuban varieties. The Chuletas De Cerdo were juicy and impeccably seasoned, while the chicharrón de pollo and carne frita were equally enjoyable.The atmosphere, enhanced by a DJ spinning classic and current hits, made for a memorable experience. While the service was quick, we felt a bit rushed out by our server(s), which was slightly disappointing. Additionally, some dishes were a touch too salty for my taste, and the tables near the windows felt a bit cramped. I was feeling a bit homesick for Dominican food today so I decided to stop by on my way home since it was on the way. While this the rotisserie chicken, they also sell other platters. I'm not sure if the menu changes daily but they had a display of cooked meats and rice ready to go. All of the meat, including grilled and stewed chicken, roasted pork (pernil), steak and meatballs all looked appetizing. They don't have the prices listed in the window so you have to just ask since it's not by weight. I'm sure they have a menu somewhere but when I walked in I just had to ask the lady at the counter. She took care of me right away and packed up a lunch size platter of the pernil (note that lunch platters are available even outside of "lunch" time) and a whole rotisserie chicken meal. Both meals were huge portions, enough to eat multiple times easily. It was an incredible value for the price. When I got home to eat it, the chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful. My fiancé devoured the pernil and Moro too. He loved it. Overall, this place isn't anything fancy by any means but the food alone makes it worthy of five stars. It's super delicious and affordable. “Been here too many times to count, for take out and dining in. Dining in the service is not amazing they can take long, sometimes you have to flag them for the check because they won't check on you. Take out is better because they are more attentive at the front. I usually order pernil, white rice and a side of red beans which is $11. But everything is worth trying. At the end of the day you go for the food not the service but they are nice.“
