“Our takeout experience at Postman Waffles was fantastic. We ordered a variety of waffles, including chocolate, everything, and churro, and each one was a delight. The waffles were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our visit even more enjoyable. If you're a waffle lover, Postman Waffles is a must-visit spot.“
“As a non-vegan, Tsuchi cafe's food was really good. I was very surprised by how delicious it was. Though they have a limited seated area, this place is definitely a must try. I loved the Karepan and the walnut brownie. The pistachio natcha tart was okayish. The flan was really good!“
“A cafe opened by Hongkonger embedded with lots of details. They have two kind of coffee beans you can go for, which are fruity and nutty. They also offer hand drip coffee. Music was amazing too because I love jazz and classic genres. It’s a nice place to have a chat with your friend or spending some me time by the window. Will definitely go back!Parking: The parking is just right behind the cafe, where the back entrance is.“
“We dined in on a Sunday afternoon and got the Pistachio and Gianduia gelato which were really good - I'd give them a 4.5/5 because the texture was not as thick as I would've expected from a gelato, but the flavour was great, and I'd rate the Gianduia over the Pistachio flavour.Note that it's $6 for one scoop or $8.5 for two, and I believe the dine-in bowl is larger than the takeout bowl. It's a cute little store under a plant shop, and would definitely visit again!“
“The owner is so nice, and really knowledgeable about Pu-Erh teas. He is patient, and the food he makes is amazing! The prices for the teas and food is reasonable (student budget friendly lmao). I remember when this was at a different location down the street and he had chalkboard menus - updated now and looks awesome. Interior decor is 100% instagramable with the arwork and the wood seating. You gotta come here at least once if you're around here, it's worth it.“
“Amazing drinks! The nut cream is so creamy and rich! The mix of nut cream and bobba was heavenly! Waffles are vegan and taste so good! The service was excellent and they made every drink with love. I’d definitely come check this spot again for their smoothies!“
“Everything a community coffee shop should be! Great coffee, their ice cream is always a big hit and their toffee milk chocolate cookie is the best. Even more - The owners are great supporters of the local community! Thanks from Team Shmooz!“
“This place has a very positive and energetic atmosphere. I went for lunch with my friends and ordered two falafel and steak sandwiches, which were amazing. Thanks Berkeley Cafe for the great service and kind staff. I highly recommend it - absolutely fantastic! ??“
“Just left this Place. Best Pistacchio Canoli I ever had. Flavourful and a beautiful crunch on the shell. Made on the spot. Also had Pistacchio Cornetto (Croissant) to die for. Last but not least Pistacchio Gelato and Sweet Onion & Goat cheese Gelato. Both Superb. This is a must place to visit.“
“A quaint, cozy place with a cute outdoor seating. This Persian cafe has wonderful brunch menu. I had the Dutch baby pancake with berries on top, with bacon and eggs on the side. Don’t get fooled by the front, go to the back and have a seat at the outdoor area. Fabulous.“
“Chris and Lorraine are down right good people with an incredible passion and dedication to their craft. We both share a passion for building cool things and giving back to the community....and of course the best coffee and caps!!! We've enjoyed working with the Maker Bean team on small projects over the last year and it's been an honour to watch their journey unfold! Couldn't recommend more :)“
“Dude I gotta tell you. This place rocks! Sol pizza is such a low-key spot but man do they bring the flavour. Thin crust, fresh ingredients ???? and steps away from Yorkville, this is the place for pizza. I’m a big fan of the Fornino. What makes this place great is their tree covered patio, making for easy summer enjoyment. Only downside is the winter you’ll want to take food to go.Wheelchair accessibility: In & out no stress“
“Visiting Donna's was a pleasure. We were a group of five: it was smooth to get a reservation on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not full. A cute quiet spot! There are some cute vintage details, hand sewn and mismatched napkins and plates. The seats could be more comfortable. The food was outstanding. Simple, but delicious. I loved the carpaccio-style steak salad and the kohlrabi gratin best. They have Orange wine and Revel cider on the menu. The server was lovely! Knowledgeable, professional, and friendly.I will go to Donna's again!“
“It’s hard to have a bad meal when the hostess is so attentive and the kitchen is very focused on a tight menu. I had the lobster tail risotto which was finished with fresh asparagus. Amazing neighborhood gem.Dietary restrictions: Very good about accommodating and allergies.“
“Always passed by Aunty Ems while walking my dogs and today was the day I decided to go in and check out this vibe of a shop. Small store front with limited seating by the front window on a tiny bench, but it's more of a get in get your stuff and check out the ambient display and dip on out. I ordered an Americano which was freshly grinded infront of me by the cool gent and added I believe it was oat milk. Cool shop, will definitely try out the fresh goods that are on display next time around.“
“Just visited this quaint coffee shop today spontaneously while in the area. It is such a beautiful place. The vibe is warm and welcoming. The owner, Victor, was super kind and personable. He is knowledgeable about coffee and really went the extra mile to deliver customer service excellence. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious coffee and a fantastic atmosphere to hang out in. Also the pink coffee lids are so fun and unique! Love this place.“
“I have ordered with Lamont Village quite a few times for our company events. Mickol is always courteous and provides the best food options. My co-workers really enjoy their fresh sandwiches and salad. Thank you for everything you have done to make our corporate events successful.Vegetarian options: a lot of options for vegetarians“
“I recommend that you get at least one of everything! The desserts, lunch food and coffee are all delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful. Every celebration in my family has a Vegan Danish Bakery cake or cupcakes. The raspberry white chocolate cheesecake is to die for, while my favorite lunch items are the mushroom melt and the vegan chicken parm sandwich. You can also purchase a take-home frozen mushroom and spinach lasagna that is delicious. The owner and staff are lovely and they really care about their business and their customers.“
“An instant neighbourhood gem! The place has such cozy, cool vibes - it really draws you in. Their Chai Latte is one the best I've had. I've tried their short bread - mouthwatering! And their farinata is a must try! They also stock some great frozen dishes and take home treats. Service is always friendly. And their dishes give a warm homey feeling that we could all use more of. Its quickly becoming my favourite place in the neighbourhood!“
“This place makes the best croissants and Kouign-Amanns in Toronto by a huge margin. It’s no coincidence that they supply many high-end cafes and restaurants. I know this because I asked at two different restaurants and they pointed me back to this little unassuming bakery and coffee shop, which also apparently is into wholesale. It’s comparable to good croissants in Paris.“
“Janelle’s Kitchen was one of the most pleasant breakfast experiences I’ve had in this city. Every dish we ordered tasted like it was made with love, especially the French toast and the crepe! The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff was so lovely and welcoming! I’m looking forward to becoming a usual visitor and trying everything on the menu!“
“Food is good for a bar, but it's a bar. I tried "Beef Cheek" and it's incredibly tender, practically melts on your tongue. It's a very chill place, a nice place to hang out, cute drawings, and a esthetically pleasing design. I would highly recommend the place if you are looking for a bar, but if you want dinner I would prefer to go to a different place.“
“Stopped in, got a couple of lattes and cookies. Lattes were smooth and just the right balanced taste - perfect. The chocolate chip cookie was thick and decadent. Definitely going to be a regular local spot. Jason behind the counter was charming and worked on getting the coffee just right - they’ve been open less than a week! If you’re around Queen & Coxwell, this is a place to check out.“
“A stunningly unique and delicious birthday cake that guests raved about. Highly recommend and will 100% get it again for the next celebratory occasion. We ordered a custom 8" ube flavoured crepe cake with blue icing for my daughter's birthday - we added our own cake toppers for decor. There were SO many layers and the purple from the ube made the cake look so pretty. Our family and friends commented how it was the perfect balance of sweetness and the texture was so nice it left everyone wanting more.Laverne provided exceptional service. He was attentive and was genuinely invested in ensuring this would be the cake of our daughter's dreams. If you're looking for a delightful treat that's above and beyond your typical birthday cake and will impress your guests, look no further than Nana's Creperie. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you Farrah and Laverne for making my daughter's birthday so special!!“
“It's like stepping into a portal back home. Always warmly welcomed and the food is delicious. I especially love the fresh juices.Vegetarian options: I love the lentil soup and the doubles.Dietary restrictions: Only the beef patties are not halal“
“This new place is so lovely with its beautiful decor and ambience. My friend really enjoyed her smoked salmon with potato pancakes (which I can attest was yummy!), but I was disappointed with my chicken schnitzel sandwich. It was only okay. If I came back, I would definitely get what my friend had ordered. At first, the dessert variety was enticing, but, upon inquiring further, there were only really about 4 available cakes out of the many on display. The one we wanted wasn’t available so we got the Tirumisu, which was tasty. We appreciated the kind gesture of a cake and small toasts on the house.I wasn’t necessarily wow’d by my first experience, but I’d be willing to try the potato pancakes if I came back.“
“I was having a stressful day ,far from good or smooth. This changed by going into a cafe I knew nothing about. The decor was stunning, the face that greeted me was beautiful and welcoming. My Americano was good and I want to go back to try some of the menu items. This place is clean, fresh and what all cafes should strive for. If you are in the East end, go.“
“Stopped by yesterday for an impromptu brunch. Was expecting everything to be just fine, but was blown away by the incredible taste, service, and ambiance. I had the tofu sandwich and side of potatoes, which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was incredibly flavorful and had a nice crunch to it. Our server was very attentive, warm, and friendly. The overall ambiance was inviting--the lighting and music was great. Definitely will be going back.“
“Consistently excellent food, warm hospitality, and attentive service make Galata Cafe our family's favourite spot. With a welcoming ambiance and top-notch cleanliness, it's a place we always look forward to visiting. Highly recommended!“
“Their food and drinks are SOO GOOD and I love the chill vibes. Second time here to dine and spend time by myself. The staff were really nice too. I was kinda skeptical about getting carbonara here cus not a lot of places have good carbonara. Omg it slaps!!!!!“
“This is one of those cafes that ticks all the boxes! Tasty coffee, affordable, great ambience to sit and work, the friendliest staff I’ve ever met, great food!!! I’m vegetarian and I love their gochujang tofu and mushroom bahn mi! Their cookies and pastries are absolutely amazing! Try the pandan cookie it’s lovely! I’m a student and I love working here! Just good things to say, I’ve been visiting for over a year now.“
“What an exceptional experience at this hidden gem, amazing people/energy. Can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner. The quality and variations of the cheeses are fantastic, and when I was unsure of which ones to take home to the family, the staff guided me perfectly, the lady helping me also insisted I try a few samples to make sure I was leaving with all my new favourites. So impressed with this place, can’t wait to go back after the holidays? Keep up the amazing work, highly recommended ???“
“This place offers a unique blend of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The food is really good, although portions are on the smaller side. I ordered the arais burger and enjoyed the variety of dipping sauces. The restaurant itself is very spacious for Toronto, and offers a cool diner feel.We found the service to be a bit lacklustre and disorganized, as we had 3 different staff members tend to our table throughout the meal, which caused for significant delays in the time it took to place our orders and receive the bill.“
“It's a good little cafe, small, not a lot of sitting room. Is largely focused on accommodating people looking to work, with communal tables setup for WiFi and providing power to laptops. When the place gets busy, it can feel very cramped and uncomfortable. There's also very little natural light in the back section of the coffee shop, making it a bit dreary to sit and work for extended periods. Lots of people bring their kids here, too, which can make the tiny space feel even smaller. The food and coffee are the real stats of the show. Really great French pastries, some excellent sandwiches, and the coffee is always good. Only downfall is its expensive. A small Americano, egg sandwich, and a cookie will cost you about $20.Service is decent, nothing special or bad.“
“Stopped in with a friend for lunch, we each had a cocktail (mine was virgin) and the burger with fries. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful and gave the perfect amount of space. The food and drinks were delicious- cannot recommend the fries enough, they were amazing. Overall, the place had a nice atmosphere, kind of cozy, albeit a little busy, but that's just testament to how good this place is“
“We all have different tastes, right?! i saw a review saying the way it tastes(awful). here's a tip: 1. ask for recommendations depending on your taste, try it, decide. sooo easy. trust me. Anyways, after i spoke with Tony for an advise on how i want the espresso to taste. He was spot on. I swear, i promise you. Espresso Bar Coffee beans, for my taste, is the best!!! Love it i gave up on getting Pascucci Caffe from Italy!!!! And the service is top notch. they went the extra mile to ship 6 kg overnight for free. well, they take care of their customers!!!!!“
“One of the best coffee in Downtown Toronto. They know everything about coffee for coffee I would give them 11/10.But they need to maintain the place.Floor was dirty cleaning things were kept in the open, walls were dirty too.It was a big turn off.“
“Wow. What a hidden (literally) gem.I had the iced chai latte and the Kouign-amann… when I tell you that pastry changed my life, I mean it. I contemplated going back to get another one. Caramelized outside, soft and chewy inside - layered with cinnamon. It was the absolute perfect start to my morning. There’s such cute little gifts for purchase as well - perfect if you work or live in the area and need to get something unique and special for a gift. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere is cozy yet upscale - in all the best ways.I will be back - excited to try more of their food offerings! The cookies looked delicious.“
“Myself and my partner went here this morning as we normally do on a Sunday. Their carrot cake is 10/10 and so is their customer service super friendly - special shout out to the new barista who I believe name is amid for a great hazelnut cappuccino.“
“Since my favourite coffee shop sold and moved to Huntsville as HunstvilleEspresso I have discovered a new(ish) spot, Martin Espresso - the space is beautiful and clean, a great selection of beverages, and charming staff that actually love what they do. I have tried so many of the drinks they serve, they have coffees from subtext delicious hot chocolate and in house made pastries - a great mix of books to review for the young and old alike, depending on your level of voyeuristic joy - the most messed up intersection in the city is on full view from any of the window seats . It's become a regular way to unwind at the end of the day!“
“The best cafe. Everything is homemade and infused with quality ingredients and love. The coffee cake and cheddar chive biscuits are our favourites. Everyone who works there is personable, polite and thoughtful and the coffee is always spot on.“
“Truly a hidden gem. In that if you walk too fast you’ll miss it and miss out on the best meal deal in downtown Toronto. These sweet Korean aunties made the most delicious and reasonably priced take out lunches you can find in the city. We got the bulgogi kimchi sandwich which can only be described as a bulgogi Big Mac fusion sandwich that’s so so good and a must try. We also got the pack of inari tofu pockets each with a difference filling, nicely seasoned, rice is fresh and not overly soggy. I just loved every bite and can’t wait to go back. This location has been open for TWENTY TWO years and clearly had regulars whose orders were ready for pick up each day. High recommend swinging by this unassuming hole in the wall and getting your hands on their tasty lunch menu. Next time I’m excited to try their spicy pork sandwich and hopefully come on a Friday to try their gimbap and tteokbokki :)“
“My husband recommended I try this place and boy was he right!! We ordered 3 meatball sandwiches and a chicken parmigiana sandwich. And they were amazing!! The whole family enjoyed it. I felt completely safe while inside and waited outside as my food was prepared. Generous portions and reasonably priced! Outstanding all the way around“
“Monopol Cafe one of the best crepes i’ve ever had. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a delightful spot to enjoy your time with family.A must-visit for crepe enthusiasts!"Parking: parking everywhereKid-friendliness: super friendly people“
“Sweetest owners who serve with a smile. Fresh sandwiches and soups and savoury goods. Irresistible tarts and cookies. Coffee and tea and juices. Cozy seating and friendly atmosphere. Very inviting!!! Highly recommend. Will need a few visits to sample the variety of tasty choices.“
“There are times when the only thing that will satisfy my hunger is an Italian veal sandwich the size of my head. When I lived in Richmond Hill or the Beaches, this meant going to one of the California Sandwiches outlets, but if you live in the Annex, it means Papamio's. Handily across the Street from the local Loblaws, once you've finished your grocery shopping, you can reward yourself with an authentic meatball or veal or eggplant sandwich. Great stuff. Molto gustoso!“
“I admire the Big Guys Little Coffee Shop because of the atmosphere, a large variety of available seating and you can bring your pet inside. On one side you have the coffee shop and on the other you can dive into a book while you enjoy your coffee. The staff, Steven and Jesse always bring light to your visit. The food snacks such as banana bread, lemon squares, chocolate chip cookies and butter tarts and the best thing is they are all homemade. All in all a simple visit will surely make your day a little brighter.“
“Had a nutella latte this morning with extra foam and skim milk! LOVED the decor of this cafe and all the unique products they sell for coffee and wellness. If it wasn't for COVID, I could definitely see myself coming by to get some work done. I will be back again!“
“The cocktails here are incredible. I’ve been coming off and on for years and have always been blown away by the exceptional balance and depth of layered flavours. Before covid, I had a drink here called Don’t Worry Be Happy and I never forgot it. Once of the most beautiful cocktails I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on this unassuming place! Drinks pictured are Jingle Juice and Chin Chin Mon Chérie“
“Amazing place, beautiful location, absolutely delicious food and drinks, wonderful friendly staff. Never change. Highly recommended for anyone nearby.Kid-friendliness: Kid was friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Everything is wheelchair accessible“
