“Just had a wonderful dinner with my family! Great atmosphere and delicious food. Staff were friendly. The portions were amazing and we all left full! Burger, wings, tandoori fried chicken and chicken schnitzel plus their onion rings... Omg!!! We couldn't get enough! Thank you for a great time. Looking forward to coming back!“
“I booked the back room at Her Father's Cider Bar for my birthday celebration and everything was absolutely amazing. The food, drink selection, ambiance, hospitality and overall experience- everything exceeded my expectations!I worked closely with their manager Josh to coordinate the timing, capacity, budget, food and dietary restrictions for my group. He was extremely flexible to work with and ensured that everyone in my group had a meal that they could eat (we had a couple vegetarians/vegans). Even though we only corresponded through email, he was extremely quick with getting back to me and answering all our my questions - no matter how big or small they were. Having him as a contact made me extremely comfortable and less stressed with the planning since he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to special events and planning! The server who helped take care of my group was extremely attentive while also easygoing and flexible. She was patient despite our group being so large and split into two, and I greatly appreciated her attention to detail when it came to catering to my vegan guests and latecomers.I had the chicken & waffles and it was the perfect size. Their apple butter and apple ketchup are both amazing and accompanied the food perfectly. I would love to come back to try other brunch items as everyone else's food looked really good as well! I also can't wait to visit again to try their dinner menu and I know for sure that this is going to be a lovely date night location going forward!Thank you everyone at Her Father's for your amazing hospitality and service!Vegetarian options: Shakshuka, french toast and modified eggs Benedict. Vegans got a Tempah quesadilla.Dietary restrictions: Vegans were accommodated for!“
“Amazing place found by accident, restored my faith in Toronto after a string of bad food and drinks and service. Food amazing, drinks fantastic , special shout out to Rachel, Scott and Jay , who made our experience magical, can’t wait to be back again!“
“A group of us came down from Ottawa for the restaurant show and noted some spots to try while there. House on Parliament was top of mind, as we run a group of pubs. We were sat in the upstairs and were served by the lovely Matthew Middleton (cousin of Kate) and he was top notch. He went along with our annoying restaurant jokes and jabs, he was thoughtful in recommendations, efficient - and I believe our operations manager tried to poach him at one point. Excellent food, excellent experience - we'll be back next time we're in Toronto!“
“I had dinner with my family (2 adults and 2 kids, 8 &10), we had a really, really delicious meal. The portions are very generous, the menu is tight and everything is made super fresh. They have a kids menu (my kids had burgers from the regular menu). The staff is accommodating, very friendly and it's clear that they're all working as a team. The prices are spot on and we can't wait to go back again soon!“
“Love the dark and moody and creepy atmosphere. I suggested going through their cocktail and wine menu which is expansive and on the higher end price wise, but delicious. Their plates are shared-style so the quantities are quite small, and a little overpriced in my opinion. Would definitely still come back for more drinks!“
“I loved this pub so much I got married here! We had a small ceremony (20 people) on the dreamy back patio and a medium reception (55 people) on the upper floors. Steve and his staff were a dream to work with. I won't get into all the details but it was like working with a proper wedding planning team with the benefit (and cost!) of a casual, cozy pub wedding. Everyone raved about the food and the staff.“
“Our family was here the first time and was a beautiful experience. Ambiance was relaxing and peaceful. Everything was tasty and service was superb. The attendants at Epoch were very attentive and accommodating to our party with allergies. I would love to come back on an afternoon date or a girlfriend get together.“
“WE LOVE CORNER PLACE!!! My partner and I are regulars here, we come here very often. A regular spot for Sunday brunch for us. We come for the mimosas and I’m obsessed with the breakfast tacos. I have gotten them every time I come here. My partner loves the eggs Benny. The food always comes so quickly too! All of the staff are amazing, super friendly, and very accommodating (shout out to Kate thought she’s the best). Will continue coming back to corner place for sure!“
“I had a great time. Classic but nice decor. The food and drinks were tasty, but don't get the sweet potato soup, it was so sweet I couldn't even finish a third of it, my partner and another friend tried and they couldn't either. But the burger was phenomenal. My beer was really tasty too. Also not accessible as there are stairs getting up to the entrance. Also my partner is super picky about his food and ended up not getting anything to eat, but that's common for him so I'm not surprised about that.Overall it was fun, and I'd go back there again.“
“Incredibly lovely staff and as good as everyone says!Came by before a show for some fries and beer, and had to be in and out within 20 minutes (poor planning on my part). The servers were so helpful and accommodating! Fries were super delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu and beers :)“
“Visiting from Denver, CO. Found this place by chance and it is excellent. Chris is friendly and more importantly knowledgeable about the local beers he serves. We're only in town for a few days but we will stop in every night that were in Toronto.“
“Visited for the first time last night and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is whimsically decorated giving it a really fun atmosphere. Very Alice in Wonderland! I had the duck entree and it was delicious. The service was fantastic as well despite it being very busy. My friend and I decided we definitely have to go back very soon! I’m looking forward to trying more things on the menu.“
“Fabulous neighbourhood bar with a very lively environment and friendly staff. Got the lobster Benny and pancakes for brunch. The lobster Benny was a bit too salty but the pancakes with sausage & bacon was very on point. Both dishes were huge and kept me full for the entire day. Most definitely worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood.“
“This is such a gem in our neighbourhood. Cozy, welcoming and always the perfect food for the moment, whether you just want a burger and fries or something fancier. A good selection of wine and beer too.Kid-friendliness: Families love it here.“
“I stopped in purely to check the place out, as I had never been by despite living in the area for more than 15 years. I loved the nostalgic feel of the decor and the no-nonsense menu. I ordered a salad and it was delish! Nice and bright, welcoming and friendly, I will definitely be back!“
“I just happened to be in the area and stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. At 4:00 on a Thursday there was a decent group in the place which is always a good sign. The staff were friendly and welcoming, nice selection of beer, and daily food specials (a big personal plus). Decided on a special Apple Chutney Pork burger and fries. It was very tasty, a nice portion size, and great temperature. I was a little disappointed that it was a pre-made pork patty and not hand-made in the kitchen, as it could have used some seasoning, but it really hit the spot. I will definitely stop by again for some traditional menu items.“
“We have been attending The Belsize Public House for years with family members for special occasions, as a friendly favourite. We keep on coming back in large part because the food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff friendly and helpful. (I ask lots of questions and they patiently provide me with the guidance I am seeking.) Great selection of beers, and the best pumpkin French onion soup anywhere, (partly because I've never seen it anywhere else, but primarily because it is delicious.)Belsize is definitely on our short list of favourite restaurants.“
“Staff was friendly food was decent and i like that they are open late! However their poutine was amazingly salty. Their gravy was just “salt”.Nacho was alright and wing was half cold half warm. We didnt complain much coz we were all so hungry but if we have more choices and time i dont think we would come here.Chill place to hangout tho!! Great location too. (Right beside dvp)“
“A hidden gem in Toronto! Every staff member is welcoming, friendly and knows their stuff. Happy hour, food and patio are all top notch, but don’t sleep on the brunch - The menu is varied and reasonably priced, and the food itself is fantastic! Our favourite spot for causal food and drinks!“
“When I arrived the owner was behind the bar. Huge props there. There was a line up but spots at the bar were open so I grabbed one. The owner was friendly, down to earth, spoke highly of his landlord who'd really helped them out during covid, the sort of person I'd want as a friend. The food and beer were fantastic. The service was stellar, and the fact this is locally owned and operated,is obviously a hang out for locals, and is a stand-alone pub make this a place I'll return to again and again. Cannot recommend it highly enough.“
“I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this restaurant is. The food is very good I absolutely love the fries and I get extra aioli! The owner and his staff are so friendly. The Jazz on Sundays just tops your meal off. It's worth going on a date or to have a relaxing drink and something good to eat. There is no going wrong at DeSotos!“
“Was there around 7:00 on Monday Dec. 18, 2023 and was SO IMPRESSED! I was with 4 women and we were treated so well by our server - who was vibrant, attentive and very helpful. Great atmosphere, food and warm ambiance. Love this place! You need to go here!“
“From the moment you step into The Commoner, nestled in the heart of Roncesvalles, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that blends the charm of a traditional pub with a sleek, modern twist. This quaint spot has quickly become my go-to for not just a meal, but an experience.Let’s talk about the stars of the show - the burgers. Calling them ‘the best’ almost feels like an understatement. And it’s not just the interiors; the pub exudes a welcoming vibe that makes you feel like a part of the Roncesvalles community. Moreover, a special mention must be made for Daisy and Cayla, arguably two of the best bartenders in Toronto. They are more than just bartenders; they are mixologists with a flair for creating the most innovative and delightful drinks. Their expertise in blending flavors is unparalleled, making each beverage a unique piece of art. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or something avant-garde, Daisy and Cayla have the skill and creativity to exceed your expectations. Watching them in action, skillfully crafting each drink with precision and care, is a treat in itself. They truly embody the spirit of The Commoner, making each visit memorable.“
“My husband and I came here after the Jays game because we have not been in ages since we are from Hamilton. We were served by Skye? Sky (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly) who was just so kind, accommodating, friendly and an overall good server. We had some good craft beer but the star of the show was that Bone Marrow Poutine. Chefs kiss, no lie that was the best poutine that I’ve ever had. We had to run to catch our train but we will definitely be back. 10/10“
“Had the pleasure of eating at this place during a conference. The first person we met was Mary. Very friendly server and very personable! Then the food came...all I can say id you won't be disappointed! Kudos to the kitchen staff I can tell you pour your heart and soul into the food! I would recommend this place to anyone great food and great employees!“
“Our server was excellent even though the restaurant was under staffed due to illness. Food came out quick and hot. Both my meal and my girlfriend’s meal were ready at the same time. We didn’t feel any pressure to order or eat & go. Very chill atmosphere. I would recommend Bite to anyone staying in the area.“
