“Friendly owners/operators. Had a issue thinking the food was off actually twice like bad smell. They made me something else which was kind. I shortly after determined it wasn't the food that was smelling bad but actually if was smell coming from the chopsticks I was using!!! So peeps sensitive to smell that like using chopsticks be aware perhaps go for the fork included in the bag instead. The husband in the kitchen is a talented photographer and has nice giant pictures of his on the wall in the dining area. I'll continue to be a returning customer. Was really worried for a second :-) Thanks.“
“This was on my tiki bar fanatic brother-in-law's list for his first time in Portland, and it did not disappoint! We got there right before it opened on a Friday, and it was a full house within the first half hour of being open, so I definitely recommend going early. I got two gin drinks--the Singapore sling and the moonlighter. Loved both although the Singapore sling was my favorite. My sister got the blue Hawaiian and the hurricane. My brother-in-law got the mai tai, the doctor funk, and the drink that came with the blue tiki mug. For food, we got two orders of the Hawaiian bread (had to get another order it was so good!) and the edamame. This was such a fun experience! A very welcome tropical escape from rainy Portland.“
“Comfort food at its finest. Guys working there are super chill and set us up with all their sauces. We took some time deciding what we wanted because all of it sounded so good. My brother got the trifecta combo and my husband and I each got the chicken sandwich. My only complaint is that the sandwiches were a little hard to pick up and eat just because they were so loaded. Don't let the website pictures fool you - these portions are huge (and the prices very affordable). My husband and I could have easily split one sandwich but instead have leftovers for tomorrow. :) everything just pairs well together. The menu has been well thought-out and I think we need to come back to try more!“
“The best poke in town! A must try!! I love how fresh everything is and their big selection. They give a large portion too and the service is always friendly! I also love that they are using reusable cups, spoons, bowls, but wish that they would consider reusable forks and chopsticks as well.Dietary restrictions: A great place to eat gluten-free. Make sure you tell them at the beginning!“
“Small, cute little shop! Nice selection of drinks and Onigiri, my kids loved them. The only thing I didn’t really like was that each Onigiri was wrapped in plastic wrap and kept warm like that; I think it would be better to wrap in food safe paper and foil so the possibility of plastic particles getting into the food is lessened.“
“Can’t hate on a busy business with a good atmosphere, great food, and quality service. This new location was very busy but they got our food out in under fifteen minutes. Line was to the door. I will be recommending this place to all of my friends.“
“I am tired of the typical American breakfast. If you are too you MUST visit HapaPino! My son and I stopped by today on a whim. We both cannot wait until we are hungry again to go back and try other menue items. We had the brealfast burrito; he had the chicken and I the sweet sausage. YUM!“
“I purchased lunch for my team at work and every one of us couldn’t get enough. To quote one person “it’s like a flavor party in my mouth!” Is an understatement. All of the flavors were perfectly paired, and not overpowering with one or the other. I can’t wait to get more!“
“I love everything about this place 100/10 some of the best Hawaii food spot in Portland. The vibe the food the staff all of it was spot on and a great experience! Check it out bring some friends! Recommend the Kalibi short ribs and the Mac salad! Super yummy! And this gotta be some of the chicken katsu in town“
“Oregon’s first Kava bar! Both the Portland and Vancouver locations offer a chill vibe with various comfy seating areas. The decor is authentic and honors the South Pacific culture without being kitschy. The Portland location features reclaimed wood from Indonesia. The Washington location boasts a stunning living wall. The kava is prepared traditionally and served in a coconut shell. The owner has spent a lot of time in the South Pacific personally meeting with his growers. And no distractions like tv screens or pool tables like an actual bar. Instead they offer things like board games and a guitar if you are lucky enough to play. There is a real sense of community in both locations with fun activities monthly at each location. I also like that they have chosen not to also serve Kratom out of respect for the ceremonial history of kava. It’s an experience!“
“tldr: Crazy good Hawaiian comfort food from a trending food cart Discovering Habu's food cart was a complete spur of the moment: decided to grab lunch at a local food cart congregation and ended up finding one of my favorite local go-to spots for some meat and rice. The picture is pretty self explanatory already but all you gotta know is that the smoked meats are irresistible. Better watch out or you end up eating the loaded plate they serve you. Owner of the food cart is super easy to talk to and you can tell he cares about the food he serves. He wants you to simply have a great time and to leave stuffed and satisfied. Give them a try when you need some quick eats that's heavy enough to save another meal for later.“
“Their reply to this review was from my original review about hidden fees from ordering online, which they clarified is not through them. They were total sweethearts about the misunderstanding which was awesome. Finally went to go try their stuff and was blown away. Amazing food and the staff couldn't be more approachable and kind. You can tell ownership treats them very well. Is now one of my favorite places to eat on a long, long list of places in PDX.“
“We stopped off at SeaSweets on a recent trip to Portland and hands down, they make the best poke bowls I've ever had. I am not easily impressed when it comes to seafood bowls, but SeaSweets has a very pleasant staff serving really high quality fish, delicious sauces, and toppings for days. Absolutely phenomenal.“
“Tucked into the food cartel in Beaverton, this spot stood out from the SMELL. I had the Garlic Chicken, a special of the day, and my mouth was watering even before I took a bite. The dish was well made, full of garlicky, sweet, and salty flavors. I'm giving it 4 stars because I thought it was a tad bit too salty, to a point that it was almost bitter. Another qualm is that I wish there were combination plates available :( but I do understand why they don't allow combination plates.“
“WOWZA!!! I just bought lunch and I am so happy I found this place!! The food was so delicious I thought I was back in Maui again. I would rate 1,000 stars if I could. Absolutely amazing!! Ohana Hawaiian Cafe is #1!!!Wow wow wow!! I’m speechless, can you tell?Parking: Easy! No sweat!Kid-friendliness: Take your kiddos, they’d love it too.Wheelchair accessibility: Super easy and flat area. I would think a wheelchair would be able to get inside without having any issues. It is worth it.“
“Omg such an innovative food cart! I love the fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese flavors. Wil is a delight and his food is always hot and freshly made. The sausage and eggs are spectacular and the kalua pork is not to be missed! Grab yourself a mixed plate for here and a musubi to go!“
“We were walking through the neighborhood on our way to the bus and saw this really interesting pod at the corner of Division and 35th. Since we were hot and it was lunch time we decided to try LETS ROLL and are thrilled that we did. We had the Very Vegan Burrito. I couldn't understand why Bo asked us if we wanted wasabi and ginger (again, I was hot and hungry and obviously not paying attention) so we said sure. The burrito was outstanding and the wasabi was just the kick to put it over the edge! When I went back to tell them how wonderful it was I got a side of Taro Chips and Guac, and must admit to being a little leery about having ginger in my guac. It had to be the best guac I've had in a long, long time! Bottom line, super good food, seriously nice people - can't wait to go back again!“
“Weston—best bartender ever!! Very engaging—great conversation about cocktails— bartending—I was a bartender back in college—many, many years ago — made me feel right at home even though I was solo.Great experience. And I love this place!! Great for families, kids,And as we age—sitting at the bar enjoying a great margaritaThanks for making me feel welcome ?“
“Amazing catering experience. Super great Hawaiian cuisine and the delivery & set up(customer service) was exceptional. BTW, the sauces are super good! If your looking to host a party, don’t miss out on what the Local Grind has to offer.“
“Menu looked awesome, only 2 vegetarian options, they were okay. Tofu was described as “a sea of flavors” which I’m not sure is accurate but it was fine. The meat though- looked and smelled SO GOOD. I mean who goes to a Hawaiian restaurant for tofu anyways lol everyone else loved their food, big fans of the teriyaki chicken and the ribs. Most dishes came with a side of Mac salad and rice. Maybe not the best for a vegetarian but for all others you’ll love it. Staff was so friendly and nice also. I would go back just for the vibes and smells“
“I’m pretty sure that any of these reviews that are bad about this place actually have not even a slight clue about true authentic Hawaiian food.I can assure you that Hawaiian Kine BBQ is EXACTLY the same as anything that you’ll eat on Maui. I know this because I lived there for 10 years. These folks know what they’re doing and the food makes me homesick every time I go there. Trust me if you want a real taste of Hawaii, eat here.Everything about this place is exactly how it is on Maui. Especially the Mac salad. So unless you’re a picky haole, you’ll love this place.“
“Poke Makana is the best and most consistent poke restaurant I've come across. I make it a point to go there every time I'm in Sherwood. Everything is fresh, it's assembled with precision and speed, and it's a meal that my entire family loves, as each bowl is made fresh to order. It's definitely worth it to show up and fill out your ballot vs. using online ordering, because there is a significant upcharge for online ordering. The dining room is always clean, as are the restrooms. The staff is always friendly, and I always walk out smiling“
“The food was pretty good and prices were decent. I always thought this place wasn't open due to the outside looking messy with a deserted look to it. Once you enter inside it's pretty nice. Wish they would make the outside more presentable and inviting. Would definitely pick up business I would think.“
“I previously tried the Sensei at Signature Bowls and found it delicious, so this time I opted for the Spicy Salmon Don. It was also very flavorful and filling. They also offer the option to Build Your Own, so next time I plan to try that with a variety of toppings.??“
“Best Place EVER! Have tried many Poke places in Portland and this is hands down amazing and all others are a disappointment! OWNERS; please don’t change anything bout your bowls. Quality of fish and different variations is awesome! The people you hire as well are all outgoing and I order here atleast 3 times a week! Anyone else complaining should try different options in reviews below your spice on spicy albacore is amazing! Thank you PLEASE DONT CHANGE A THANG!“
“This is my family's new favorite place to get Hawaiian food! The chicken is never dried out, the beef is always tasty, and they have many different sauces to choose from! The service is amazing and the woman who takes our order is always so kind!!“
“This is my son's favorite weekly go to. The food is consistent- grilled chicken is delicious, the nac salad is fresh, and you can grab extra sauce for your takeout. Staff is always friendly. The dining room is small and fairly basic. Better if you can sit outside by the "lake".Parking: Parking is a small lot and shared with another restaurant. The office building next-door has a larger parking lot but is fairly full during business hours.“
“A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is prepared well, tastes excellent and is priced very reasonably for the large portions. Something hard to find in the area. Another rarity is the owners take the time to get to know their customers. You can expect to be asked if you want "the usual" if you dine more than a few times. It is refreshing to see hard working small business owners still making it work.“
“Been in Portland almost 5 years and I've never came here till now! I cannot believe I waited so long! It's such a cool place. The vibe is great. The karaoke is great. Food great. Bartenders great. It was a vibe for sure! Highly recommend.“
“I ordered the Kalua Pork and my girlfriend had the Katsu Chicken. Very hearty meals for a fair price. Owner is very friendly and happy to talk us through the different options available. Covered dining area with heaters nearby which is ideal for a cold March lunch.“
“I have only been to the Beaverton location and was excited to learn that there was another closer to me. I love their bowls so much. The only difference between the two spots is that Beaverton has a seared Albacore and this location doesn't. I still loved the raw tuna, but would love it if they also got the seared tuna. Friendly service!“
“I always go to this location bc most of the other Roxy's have been serving the exact same order in containers literally half the size. This location serves me up enough food for 3 or 4 meals for about $12. The bang for your buck is 10/10. Food is great. The Macaroni salad is like crack, I always get an extra serving of it.“
“Never had bad food at Roxy’s and this location is no exception! We don’t even realize this location was there until tonight! It’s a larger location than MurrayHill and a bit small than the Tualatin location but plenty of seating. We love the kahlua pork, shoyu chicken, pineapple chicken and musubi! The Mac salad is yummy too as are the veggies.Reminds us of being back in Hawaii when we eat loco moco too!“
“Cute little shop, stopped in for the lunch special. It's hard to eat out for $8 nowadays but the teriyaki chicken was so good! Came with rice and 2 pot stickers. While waiting for my food, I got a call and had to leave. They had already plated it up so nicely, I felt terrible. Once I got a chance to eat later, I found that they had the same level of care in the to go containers. Special restaurant and I look forward to my return!“
“The loco moco is to die for here! Its a nice spot to the interior is really nicely done and the service is amazing. They are super friendly. This is what I've been looking for since getting back from Hawaii. Id recommended this place over 808grind any day!“
“Great fun food choices for an easy brunch before an event nearby. Name on table was a nice touch with our reservations. Easy casual space with upgraded food choices and nice touches. Would visit again. Our group had the benedict, teri burger, combo plate (ribs were great!), masubi and bibimbap bowl. All delicious.“
“I want to do a long positive review so will add more later.Great!!!Parking: The building is in the middle of an enormous parking lot so it's literally surrounded by plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from the parking lot. No steps. Restroom no steps, large, door a little narrow“
“Catering! We ordered for an office lunch. Everyone loved it! I got in touch via email, which was very easy, responsive and helpful. We bought for about 50 people. We got a whole pan of rice, three 1/2 pans of meat (hurricane chicken, teriyaki chicken and Katsu chicken), one 1/2 pan of veggies, and one 1/2 pan of Mac salad, with some extra sauces. Next time we will definitely get one more 1/2 pan of meat, and do a full pan of vegetables. The people were lovely and helped me load it in the car. Very gracious, generous and pleasant to work with through ordering as well. I'm sure we will order from here again!“
