The cocktails are interesting and the staff will be able to give you good advice if it's your first time.We were just confused that after paying, they brought our coats directly to the table. We hadn't finished our digestive so that brought a sense of rush because normally we go straight to the cloakroom to pick them up when leaving, but we still appreciated the attention.Recommended for fans of speak-easies such as Jjacques (Quebec) and Kabinet (Montreal)”

The main court's ambiance sort of overlaps with the restaurant such that there's mostly chatter, and some residual music from the court, but no real ambiance proper to the restaurant. That being said, being seated at the bar, seeing the employees prepare the plates and being able to interact with them all make for a good experience overall.Highly recommend looking at their promotions on the main website. This makes it worth trying for sure.”

“A good place to have a coffee with good pastries. For the pastries side you really have the choice. The staff is kind and attentive. I think the only negative point is that the place is shielded, we can barely hear each other when we speak. Other than that I highly recommend it!”

Food was incredible and not overpriced, our table of 3 split 2 bottles of wine, 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts for a very reasonable price. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting looking for the best French food I’ve ever had. The sweetbreads and veal tataki are must get appetizers, and the duck, steak, and pork roulade were incredible as well.”

We first went in Dec 2022 and came back the next night. Tonight we brought our daughter here since she traveled to QC with us this time. She had a savory crepe made with buckwheat (because she's gluten free) and she loved it and didn't "get glutened". Win all around. Atmosphere is terrific too!”

“If you are looking for a dinner that can give you a wide taste of local foods, this is a wonderful choice. We were looking for a place to eat at 4 after missing lunch. The restaurant we were considering was closed until 5, so we continued down the road and found that Aux Anciens Canadiens was not only open but still had the lunch prix fixe prices. It is possible the dinners are larger, but the lunch was more than enough for us. We shared our meals with each other and were able to try pea soup, smoked bison fondue, meat pie, meat ball ragout, and deer, bison and elk tenderloin with a lovely blueberry sauce. For desert, we had maple syrup pie and maple bread pudding.Everything was very good and we felt like we had the perfect culinary review of classic Quebecoise foods. We could have chosen the poutine, but we were concerned that we were not going to make it to desert and since the woman behind us was telling her friend that this place had the best maple syrup pie, we didn't want to risk it.”
