“This place has been on the list to try for a while. We live about 40 min away, but it's a halfway point for friends who live closer to Galveston. We went on a Friday evening, there was live music- southern blues, was loud, but it was live music. It was wet outside so we sat inside. Kids may have been more patient if they got to play games on the patio. We got lasagna sticks- delicious, big fat cheesesticks- the kids LOVED them, and 2 pizzas. Kids got a 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni and after all of their cheese stick intake filled up fast. 3 adults shared a 16" Squiddy- which is the pizza of the month for March- it was different and tasty. Crust is def homemade and we thank you for that! My husband had an old fashioned, it wasn't anything to call home about and I tried a beer (8th wonder of the world), it was tasty. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area and we will most likely go back with friends. It's not a cheap culinary adventure, but it was very good.Kid-friendliness: I think when it's not raining, games on the patio would keep kids entertained. As it was last night they got bored, but they thoroughly enjoyed the food.“
“Jaxon was very attentive and accommodating. The food was mostly delicious. I gave 4 stars because the grits were so watery that they were more soup than grits. The bacon was extra crispy, and a generous portion was served. Loved the bread used for toast. My friend enjoyed the banana pancakes. The colorful post it notes were interesting.“

In town for business, stopped in for lunch, but we are considering going back for dinner on our way home. Highly recommend! Very reasonably priced.“
“Look, I could go on about how the waitress prioritized our party of 2 and a baby before the huge table of 20, because she didn’t want us to wait.I could go on about the delicious Devonshire cream, how it’s one of the freshest and lightest desserts I’ve ever had.I could go on about the homemade root beer, perfected in a root beer float.But I won’t; instead, I’ll go on about the burger. Tried the wagyu beef, cheddar bacon burger on the sweet bun; it was delicious. Qualified for my top 5 burgers of all time. “I always "love the taste of hamburgers" from the 1950's'!. I have experienced that at Dairyland. The food is cooked correctly, the lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, etc. all look like actual FRESH VEGETABLES on my burger! That's pretty rare for the most part! Honestly, when is the last time that you've bought a great looking burger ? that actually looked the way it's advertised on the TV? ? I can't even remember when that happened for me.IDK now, how staff is trained or what is being done differently now in 2024? But there's been a major change from 20-30 years ago? Maybe it's as simple as ... the staff actually did care about how they prepared our burgers! Now, when I get my burger, I lift off the top bun and way too often, ... I am served a burger with wilted lettuce, yukky sliced tomatoes that are still green, have old spots, or missing pickles, if I get ONE tiny piece of a pickle at all that is! I've tried to complain or requested another burger, but mostly the re-done burger is still half-ask prepared. All that to say ... I enjoy my Hamburger from Dairyland and it's prepared the way that I ordered it! Give them a try!!!“

“Small joint just off Tx 35 in Alvin.Unlike some more famous Tx BBQs ( Salt Lick, Franklin's, Cooper's, Hard Eight, Kreuk, Black's, Heim) these fks like Young's up in Lampasas know how to "finish" their BBQ.My wife and I dined their last Feb 3rd mid-afternoon.It's not a huge place, but the parking lot is always "busy"....You walk thru the line to order at the counter...pick up some of your sides and drinks...your other stuff usually gets delivered to your table....QUICKLY.So the service is at the counter and then after you order and it is TOPNOTCH on both ends.Food my wife,and I both had 3 meat plates...I had brisket, pork and ribs. She had sausage, chicken and ribs. We ordered different side...I ordered onion rings as an "appetizer" also.Do how do they "finish" their BBQ different from all the big names.... tender, lots of smoke and NO GREASE. I feel the bog names either don't render the fat out, or they ADD fat grease back in to try to keep their meat tender. EITHER way it leaves all their Q greasy.JOE's meats while having the good flavor of FAT, they are not greasy. While being fork tender they are NOT greasy.Joe's is topnotch BBQ....if you are in or thru Alvin on Tx 6 or 35....stop In and get your BBQ itch scratched. Better than all the BIG Names....IMO....YASSS.Price to value excellent or above.“
“Everyone is so friendly here! The same manager has been at this location for as long as I can remember since my parents and I had moved to the area as a child, and it shows he knows how to run his business and keep his employees happy. The food is great as always and served in a timely fashion!“
