Our server's name was David and was very knowledgeable as well as attentive. It's so hard to find good pizza anymore let alone a clean place to eat, but this place was the bomb! “First time there was yesterday and we had 5 people total. We were told they were only serving off the lunch menu, okay, no problem. My kids split the steak fries ($25) and my husband got the French dip ($25). I don’t mind paying for good food, but at $25 a pop, I expect a ribeye and not flank steak. It was extra chewy. We also ordered the butter and oil board, which came promptly as it should, but the humus took forever, and was delivered half way through us being finished with lunch. There was a quarter cup of humus on the plate spread out and pita bread…for ($14). We had 2 cocktails and tea for everyone else. Our lunch bill was $150…lol. I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and our friend got the turkey and Swiss croissant. Also, the very first thing our daughter said when she walked in was it smelled like a restroom. I will not be back.”

“My family loves this place- meat eaters and vegetarians alike. So yummy, and they are happy to switch out egg rolls for veggie rolls (smaller thin crust with no meat version) in their meals. They have a lot of veggie options with tofu- I wish some of the tofu dishes had more veggies with them and I wish they had veggie dumplings, but it is still all great and better than anywhere else I have ever been. My carnivorous dad would get the green pepper/beef and loved it, but would always steal my tofu. The staff are also very polite and friendly, esp. the lady I believe runs the place. There is very limited parking. They have a quaint, small sit down restaurant that is nicer than most places, but it is more like counter service- they bring the meal to your table with your number. You handle your drinks/refills; there is a clean up box to put your plates and trash and pick up to go boxes. I love it. It is my favorite restaurant.”

The boil took a while to come out but we were made aware before ordering (which I loved the honesty) but didn’t mind the wait. The place was clean including the bathrooms the only downside is it was extremely hot inside we were all sweating including my toddler that’s my only complaint but otherwise the portion size was good, food was amazing, & love how they kept checking on us & giving us refills when needed. Also the price for what you get was worth it. Highly recommend this place but bring a little fan it is hot lol! Will be returning again soon.”

My wife had the catfish, collared greens and Mac n cheese. The positives. The chicken was good, not very seasoned but not bad. The catfish was good. Now the sides. The Mac n cheese was very disappointing. It was very dry and lacked cheese, had a slight sweet taste to it. The mashed potatoes were very plain and not homemade. The greens tasted like they were from a can. Got a piece of chocolate cake to go, and when I got home to eat it, was surprised it was Bundt cake, the cake was dry and had a chocolate glaze or a thin ganache, not at all what I was expecting. I’ll give it another go in the future, could’ve been a bad day.”

“I do recommend smoothie king, just not this location. Yesterday morning I went in there with my brother after the gym, it was around 6:15am. We ordered our smoothies and after focusing on the menu the whole time we finally took a glance around because we were being bothered by fruit flies. It was then when we realized we did not want to consume anything from there. The flies were most prominent over the blenders. One or two around when fruit is involved is understandable but the mass amount was troubling. It looked like their blenders hadn’t been cleaned. But that’s not the worst, there is a roach infestation. That was the point we asked for out money back. We apologized but could not be comfortable eating anything from there. The employee said he understands and that the roaches have been a problem they are trying to fix but they can’t get rid of them. They should temporarily close to fix that problem then. The roaches were in the basket of prepackaged snacks on the counter. They were on the counter that is used to make the smoothies, and crawling along the counter wall. I couldn’t even wait for the refund I had to leave my brother to it, I’m terrified of bugs and it’s really disgusting to see the amount we saw.”

“We were on vacation when the Surfing Crab was recommended to us for great seafood meal. We went on our second night of vacation. We decided on the snow crab and shrimp which came with corn, potatoes and sausage with the Surfing Crab house seasoning. It was delicious. Our waitress answered every question we had and was very attentive. The manager came around twice and the assistant manager came around once to talk and check on us. I spilt my drink and even the clean up crew was there immediately and were very polite. We highly recommend and if we are ever back in town we will surely eat there again.”

“Spectacular place! We ate here for the first time Saturday night 4/20/24 and it was everything we have been wanting in an upper scale restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. As for the food starting with the appetizers we had pork belly and the tuna ceviche which both were amazing, then the entree’s which we had the filet and pork chops which again were incredible, then we finished with the bananas foster’s bread pudding with ice cream which was the perfect ending! The whiskey selection is very good and the prices are fair for a place of this caliber! Hopefully next time we will have time to visit the whiskey lounge which looks awesome and relaxing! I highly recommend Prime Steakhouse and Whiskey Bar!!!”

“The day before I visited I saw this restaurant on my way to Padre Is. I googled the restaurant n menu to check it out. I liked what I saw on their website so I decided to visit for breakfast the next day considering they are close to the hotel where I was staying. Restaurant is clean n the decor is pleasant. Staff seems nice n welcoming. Waitress came over right away to take our order. I had the carne guisada/eggs n my husband had barbacoa/eggs. Both plates were excellent. Portions are generous n it took about 10mins for our food to be served. The flour tortillas are big n delicious. Coffee was good too. The food plates I saw being served looked very well put together. We definitely enjoyed our breakfast time. Upon getting ready to leave I asked the waitress for the very same plate of carne guisada to go. When she brought it, I was glad I checked it cause it was a whole different plate from what I had ordered. I told her n she went back to get the correct plate. Again she brought out the to go plate n again I checked it n again it was wrong. I had asked for scrambled eggs n it had fried eggs instead. Seeing that for some reason she couldn’t get it right, I called for the mgr. Although she was courteous, she seemed bothered that I was complaining about my order. She corrected my order n brought my bill. I then see I was being charged a higher price n alerted her to it n again she seemed more bothered I called it to her attention. Were it not for this incident (mistakes happen), our experience would’ve been 5 stars. I could tell I had made a good choice in picking this restaurant after all. It’s good affordable mexican food.”

Well tonight I ate in there in Corpus Christi. They have a full light calorie menu from which I ordered lemon and garlic shrimp with angel hair pasta 550 calories. It came with two types of delicious bread and butter. The sauce was divine and there was parsley in little pieces of tomato in it and I'm telling you that's one of the best meals I ever ate. I will definitely be back in there to eat at least that again. The other menu was huge as well . And so varied . Now let me talk about the cheesecake. The piece I had 1100 calories in it. It was Basque cheescake. Had no crust and was brown all over. When I was a kid living in Massachusetts my grandmother would bring home cheesecake occasionally from the Jewish bakery. We called it New York cheesecake. It was delicious and I never forgot it. I have never seen it since until I came to the Cheesecake Factory at the age of 65. I've lived in Arizona Texas Georgia South Carolina Ohio Washington State . I've looked up recipes under New York cheesecake because that's what we called it. Never found the same thing. Then I saw it. It was sitting in the back of the case and it was brown all over. And I thought even though it wasn't as tall as how I remember what my childhood cheesecake was it looked very similar so I got it. I'm happy to report that now I know the name of the cheesecake and can get the recipe online! Or I can just go back to the Cheesecake Factory and get another piece! Although not as tall and not as light The Taste was dead on. It came with blueberries and strawberries and lots of whipped cream. I don't need all of that just the cake is fine. Happy Feet Happy Feet.”

The hostess was nice and sat me at my table. Caitlin was my server/bartender (I hope I spelled her name right). She made me a Thai Tea that was pretty good, I had the crab salad that was absolutely amazing. Caitlin suggested a particular dish, but it had coconut in it and I'm allergic. Heather, another waitress that has waited on me a couple of times suggested the oysters, the sauce that came with it was really good and I loved the presentation on the Kings Goblet. I ordered broccoli and beef with jasmine rice to go. My overall experience was great. Customer service is a big deal to me, both Heather and Caitlin are very good at what they do, from the politeness to constant communication with their guest(s). Heather mentioned a pumpkin drink that I'll try on my next visit.”

My kids split the steak fries ($25) and my husband got the French dip ($25). I don’t mind paying for good food, but at $25 a pop, I expect a ribeye and not flank steak. It was extra chewy. We also ordered the butter and oil board, which came promptly as it should, but the humus took forever, and was delivered half way through us being finished with lunch. There was a quarter cup of humus on the plate spread out and pita bread…for ($14). We had 2 cocktails and tea for everyone else. Our lunch bill was $150…lol. I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and our friend got the turkey and Swiss croissant. Also, the very first thing our daughter said when she walked in was it smelled like a restroom. I will not be back.”
