“What an adorable place with the most delicious, authentic German food we’ve ever had in the US. I had a lovely dry Riesling wine, pork weiner schnitzel with German potato salad & sauerkraut. It was a large portion & absolutely amazing. Hubby had veal weiner schnitzel & red cabbage. The veal was so tender. We loved it all & will definitely return next time we’re in New Braunfels. Make a reservation ahead of time. It’s cozy & quite popular. We didn’t have a reservation & it took about an hour to get a table, but it was really worth it!”

My wife had the Three Seafood Salad with Salmon and Shrimp. I know there was another seafood item but she can’t remember. But the waitress was so professional and in these days…she was so good! I wish we’d gotten the Fried Brie appetizer! A little hard to Locate back in behind the other shops but they were also fun! Very good bread as well!!!!”

“I was just swinging through town solo and stepped into the bar area to eat. I have been there a few times, and ALL the food is excellent. But usually when u sit in the bar area on a busy night (Friday) you are all but ignored. However, probably the best service I have ever had. Constant multiple waiters walking by asking for what you need, but not in that annoying way where you cant eat. Drinks were Johnny on the spot, everything out quickly. A most excellent establishment.”

“Saturday afternoons are lively here at Freiheits. There were lots of tables still available and yet this fine establishment still seemed quite busy. Wendy was our server. Even though she seemed to be running around everywhere at once, breathless, her timing was always impeccable with regard to our table. Wendy's visits to our table were never rushed nor pressured. She made sure our orders arrived in prime shape and our beverages consistently topped off. Our food was nothing short of amazing. The burgers we ordered were tender and juicy. They were neither bricks nor dripping down our arms. The country fried steaks we ordered filled the entire plate with a delectably fine Southern crunchiness (the breading) enjoying the succulent, flavorful steak. The portions were large and we were pleased to be provided with a takeout box to continue our stellar dining experience with subsequent meals. I gently reheated my country fried steak in a dry cast-iron skillet for several minutes for breakfast Sunday morning accompanied with some eggs and hash browns. Our expectations were met. Compliments to Wendy and the chef.”

“My family has always loved The Reel and eat there often. We received a favor gift card after our 2nd child and decided to use it to have dinner delivered by Favor from The Reel. I was very disappointed in my stuffed flounder. There was no Avocado, cherry tomatoes or lump crab on it and it seemed more like the lunch portion than the $39.20 dinner portion I usually get. lesson learned I guess as I feel this is on The Reel and not our Favor driver.”

“I love taking my girls here. It’s always clean, the staff is friendly, and most of all they keep the kids area, very clean. They also have one big touchscreen table in the kids area, and two small touch screens on tables in the front lobby. I wish I made it easier for the children to reach it because my daughter always asked me out halfway on the table to be able to play the game, but other than that it’s really good place to take your kids

“We went for our first time. We were the only ones in the restaurant and service was very poor. We waited over 15 minutes for our check while the owner sat at another table chatting with someone. Food was good however the menu needs improvements. The descriptions were very vague and it didnt seem like a menu for a mexican restaurant.. And I have never been to a mexican restaurant that doesnt serve chips and salsa.”

My wife loves cheesecake, we want to support a local business but the service is not lining up with Ukrainian or Texas hospitality.”

We were able to taste everything on tap, plus the bartender gave us samples of their beers that were in bottles.

“So i came into Mcallisters new Braunfels for lunch and when i tell you the service was Amazing. it was AMAZING!! i didn’t catch her name but the lady (blonde ) was so sweet and patient taking our order. and not even five minutes after ordering we got our meal. the food is always immaculate and the best way to end the meal is with a cookie. so i go up to order one and she is super sweet and covers the cost of the cookie from the kindness of her heart! bless her!!”

“Today, my husband and I decided to get lunch at Las Palapas at Creekside in New Braunfels, on our way to Home Depot. We were greeted quickly. We were seated in Brooklyn's section. The food was hot, drinks were cold. Food arrived quickly. We had the Enchilada verdes plate and the super bowl, with a coupon for the mama ruth flauta plate. They were good, the shredded chicken was over salted but still edible. Our server, Brook, came to take our order quickly, when we ordered we asked for our drinks with no ice. She brought out mine correctly but my husbands had a full a glass of ice. She took it back and fixed it. While we were eating, she checked on us once after bringing out our food. When we asked for our bill, we asked for the military discount. When she brought out our bill, we handed her the gift card we had along with 20.00 cash to make up the difference. When she returned she brought out two 5 dollar bills. our change was supposed to be: $10.55. When we noticed it, we asked the other waitress in the area to ask her to come back to our table. When she was called to the table for us to explain about it the other waitress in the section was still there. When Brooke was told about the fact that we wanted the 55 cents, she took an attitude about us wanting our 55 cents. Saying: they want the 55 cents? while she was standing right in front of us. We should have called the manager at that moment. The way I feel is that she took the 55 cents. She should have given us the entire amount of change per our receipt, allowing us to choose tell her to keep it. As it was we were going to give her an 11.00 tip, once we discovered the change returned to us was not correct and she displayed an attitude, we changed the amount of tip to 1.55. We have talked to the manager about this issue as well. I used to work waiting on tables, I always give good tips, and I know the work is hard and sometimes you get bad customers, however: NEVER did I not give back the full change on the receipt. In my book that would have been considered stealing from the customer.”

Menu was incredibly easy to understand, so you know exactly what you’re getting which is great. Secondly, we came with a group of almost 10 people and my food was prepared in less than 19 minutes. “We visited Naegelin's today while we were in New Braunfels. I used to live in NB (1959 to 1990) and grew up on their pastries. My brother was a baker their in 1960 and 1961, so there was always Naegelin's pastries to eat. Bear Claws were my absolute favorite. After 30 years, I couldn't wait! I ordered Bear Claws and 2 strudles, apple and cherry. I should have waited! The strudel was pretty good. the Bear Claws were very very disappointing. they lacked flavor and filling. The pastery used to be light and flakey. Not any longer, more like flat and tough. I hate to use the word "cardboard", but that kinda fits. Go for the Strudel, forget the Bear Claws. Childhood memories shattered again.”

“We used 2tarts for our wedding desserts and it was amazing. They were not only delicious, they made our cake tasting a special event. We worked with Erin, and she was so charming. Everyone truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and the tasting is a precious memory for me now. The actual cake was beautifully done, on-time, and tasted delicious. We had nothing but positive feedback from our guests, and many people even took selfies with the dessert table! It looked that good. Me and my husband (woo!) had a slice of the blackberry cake which was possibly the best cake I've ever had, but our "anniversary" layer, which we ate the next day, was pistachio, and that was incredibly delicious. We got a four-tier cake with different flavored layers, and individual apple pies and slices of gluten-free, vegan cake. The options were so great we almost didn't know what to pick, but we were so happy with the end result! If you are in the area and looking for your wedding cake and desserts, 2tarts is the right answer!”

It was so delicious and everyone commented and wanted to know where I bought it. You can bet this is going to be a monthly stop when I go meet our group. I received great customer service and they also furnished the cups and other condiments. The young woman who waited on me made me feel like the only customer of the day. Betty Lou Coffee Company is located on Landa Street close to Das Rec and I plan to go by and pick up a cup whenever I am in that area of NB.”

“Stopped by El Torrito today to test out their tacos. Grabbed a carne guisada with cheese and a picadillo with cheese.

Carne guisada: gravy was on point, but the meat was a little dry in the middle.
Picadillo: flat-out amazing. Perfect flavor, no complaints there.

Tortillas are homemade — tough to beat that. Service was fast, and the drive-up attendant was helpful and on top of it.”

“We orders pizza a few days ago . The pizza was okay but the driver did NOT follow the no contact rules also our pizza did not have a seal on it. Very polite but when I heard the door bell I expected it be left on my porch as well I put a chair out there so he can set it on there. I opened the door he handed me pizza and a pen right up close. I’ve been in quarantine I expected to have no contact delivery as well as a sealed boxes of pizza. I need a night free of cooking not to worry about the person delivery pizza .”
