“This is my first experience with this restaurant. I placed a take out order. The order was ready in 20 min. I ordered Papusa, Lomo Saltado, and Fajita mix. The food was very tasty, well prepared and very authentic. I will definitely dine-in next time.“
“Next time you're over in Eastern Market check this place out!!! Lovely happy hours and brunches! For happy hours, I had tortilla de patatas, jamon serrano, gambas al ajillo... all were delicious and fresh! The gambas had some extra charred garlic that I enjoyed putting on bread with some of the delicious olive oil that was in the dish. The brunch was stunning and was a great addition to our day at Eastern Market! Some highlights were house made ravioli that were to die for, white sangria, croquetas... It's right around the corner from the main strip of Eastern Market on Penn Ave. so a bit hidden but worth a try!“
“Everything we ordered was delicious. The grilled octopus, paella, cones were all great and the pan cristal is a must!! I was impressed that they bring their bread from Barcelona. The custard pudding was a perfect ending to our meal. Overall we had a great time and are willing to revisit.“
“A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“
“I went to Sabores with friends for Restaurant Week. We had an incredible experience from beginning to end. Everything was delicious and the servings were more than generous. We left fully satisfied, and I know I will be back again and again! I highly recommend the roasted beet salad, the churrasco, and the passion fruit cheesecake. My friends loved the pan con jamon, the bacon wrapped dates, and the arepitas. Really, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! The service was impeccable, and the ambiance was beautiful. I loved that we could hold a conversation without yelling across the table at each other. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff and the manager/owner, Ale, who took such wonderful care of us.“
“3-stars for service due to multiple requests for a finger bowl of warm water. When the requested was answered, it was presented in an aluminum bowl, plated, with a drying cloth ... but the water was cold!I agree with the reviews, $100 per person, we ordered tapas servings, no entrees. No dessert. Drinks ordered. Everything tasted wonderful. Over priced. You're paying for the location.“
“We stopped in on a busy Saturday without a reservation. The staff worked hard to squeeze our party of four in at the chef’s counter and we were seated within five minutes of our arrival. We were so grateful! The food and drinks were awesome and it was really fun to watch the kitchen work. Lots of menu options for the vegetarians in our group. Can’t say enough good things about the experience - great food, terrific service, fun atmosphere. Will keep this restaurant on our short list!“
“We had a great dining experience at this Spanish restaurant. The food was good, especially the paella, similar to the one we had in Spain. The drinks paired well with the food, and the place was well-lit with natural sunlight, making it inviting. The service was decent, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. However, the overall price felt a bit expensive for the portion sizes. Nonetheless, we were satisfied with our experience overall.Parking: Parking pass validation for discounted parking.“
“Love this gourmet shop & market! The wine and cheese selection is excellent. Plus my 10yo loves & loves their olive blend and focaccia. Nido is our stop for a special evening together. Also, the owners are just lovely and know their product really well. 100% Recommended!!!“
“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“
“Saga restaurant in DC offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh vegetables and fruit, complemented by a selection of top-quality teas. The attentive staff ensures a pleasant atmosphere, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.“
“Omg! I love the food here. Exactly as in Spain … my favorites are the pinxtos (tapas on little bread) and the salmorejo is similar to the one I had in cordoba… although you can pick up food to go, make sure you eat in as they add the little extras that make the whole difference…egg (& ham) to salmorejo, they warm up the pinxtos if needed ..“
“An absolute lovely experience at Barcelona Wine Bar. The floor to ceiling windows, the lighting, the ambiance, the food options, the tapas, the beverages, the service… everything was top tier and wonderful. I highly recommend the beef empanadas, grilled chicken, olive oil pancakes, patatas, and paella. My lovely spouse and I enjoyed a mid day date here and had Bernardo & Sydney as servers who were more than accommodating and helpful. The recommendations exceeded our expectations and now we’re full and ready for a nap. Bring your loved ones here or anyone you’d love to impress. You won’t regret it!“
“I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Barcelona Wine Bar! We were coming to D.C. to visit our daughter in March and wanted to surprise her for her 30th birthday with a small party at the Cathedral Heights location. In the past, she had spoken very highly of this place, so we told her we would just take her out to dinner there. Not being local, I had to email back and forth many times with Tiana G. who is one of their event planners. Just through the emails I could feel her friendliness and excitement about helping us surprise our daughter that night. Thank you Tiana, for taking care of every detail and for your excellent and timely communication with me (thanks also to DeDee who stepped in to cover for Tiana at one point)! We decided on the $50 pp package which included a great selection of family style tapas, entrees, and desserts which they also customized to accommodate the birthday girl and a few guests who had some dietary restrictions. The food was AMAZING, we all raved about it! Alcohol is not included in any of their packages, but we ordered 4 pitchers of their sangria which was plenty for 8 of us. Our server Samantha was the best! Very friendly and attentive throughout the 3 hours we were there. Thank you all for helping us pull this off, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back soon!“
“Behind the modest exterior, an immersive culinary journey awaits! Every foodie traveler enjoys 'the find' - a place you don't expect but allows you to join the curated journey of an exceptional chef and his team. Xiquet is one of DC's few true finds, tucked away in a small neighborhood but standing tall in the burgeoning DC dining scene. It is one of those rare places in an otherwise hypertensive town where time becomes ephemeral, and you can truly give in to enjoying artistry for its own sake and within its own parameters.Since Chef Danny changes his menu constantly, based on inspiration and availability of high quality ingredients, check their site for the latest, and definitely allow them to pair their wines, ports, vermouths, etc. to achieve 'peak flavour'.Our experience, a special occasion for my wife and me, was - to use one word - blissful! And equally importantly, relaxed - as visits to special places like Xiquet and its Michelin-starred siblings like Rose's Luxury, Jaunt and Inn at Little Washington should be.Make the time, take the time, and enjoy the journey!“
“This place is always soooo good. It's my favorite restaurant in DC and is well established. My only qualm is sometimes the food is slightly too salty for my taste, but having traveled a couple times to Spain, that's authentic. I keep coming back anyway. Freshly made. Great wine.“
“We really enjoyed our visit. Hoshi (sp?) was our server and he was awesome. Knowledgeable, very personable and accommodating...he made our visit. He was actually the reason we chose to dine here. We were looking at the outside menu when he came out the door to service a sidewalk table and asked if we were going in as he held the door for us. When we said we were undecided, he said we should because it was the best food in Georgetown and that he had a great table for us right in the window. We all agreed that we should. The food was good. My steak, which I ordered medium rare came out medium well, but it tasted so good that I told Hoshi I would eat it anyway. I had the hibiscus margarita, which was amazing and was even topped with a hibiscus flower which was edible.“
“ONE OF THE BEST In DC still can't get enough of the swirl frozen margaritas. Food is always consistent. I've been in DC at least a decade always enjoyable, small wait time for table.Parking: Have a lot but it fills quickly. Annex parking is a couple blocks away and then DC street parking will be a challenge.Kid-friendliness: Yes accommodates children well.Wheelchair accessibility: Will need assitance to get to first dinning level“
“Great little Honduran restaurant. Everything on the menu looks very good. I only got pupusas, but I definitely want to try some other things next time. The pupusas were very large, I got three but one and a half or two would have been sufficient, even though I was very hungry. Fast friendly service, plenty of seating, tasty looking homemade drinks in refrigerator. Clean restroom and dining room. Plenty of parking for the time I visited, though it might be crowded if it were the evening. Bar in second dining room, open evenings. No credit card minimum.“
