“Discovered this restaurant for Alexandria's restaurant week and really glad I found it! It's a smaller space but very intimate, dimly lit, and well decorated! We were immediately greeted when we walked in and our server/bartender was extremely welcoming and friendly! We chatted for a bit and really loved the quality of service he provided. It was personable and professional. We tried the wagyu burger (perfectly seasoned and cooked, juicy!) and the hot chicken sandwich (crispy chicken, delectable sauce, overall 10/10 and a MUST). The appetizers we got Brussel sprouts (very bitter, a little soggy, overall a bit disappointing) and the ribbon fries (they were basically chips, but not seasoned or salted) topped with a mayo-based sauce that was pretty good but also pretty disappointing. We didn't have room for desserts but the main dishes and drinks were good! There is a speakeasy counterpart that is right next door with incredible cocktails. Excited to try it out soon.“

“My partner and I visited Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas on the evening of Monday, March 11, 2024. The host was prompt and friendly, seating us at the bar. We tried the Gyoza, Gin Ramen, and Red Curry Ramen—all of it was not only delicious but also visually appealing. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, making our dining experience very enjoyable. We're looking forward to returning for their happy hour (both drinks and food very nice prices). I highly recommend this spot for a delightful dining experience.“
“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

“I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. The staff was warm and inviting, and so was the decor and fragrances. I detected a hint of incense and palo santo. I recommend the hearts of palm salad, the Causa, and scallops to warm up. The fish was superbly executed, but the name of the fish escapes me. We had ours served cold (dry aged?) with the Rocoto sauce which was mild yet fantastic. The pisco sour coctail enhanced the flavors for me. My overall impression was that all flavors are somewhat mild but not boring, everything tastes super fresh; and like one at our table mentioned, you can almost taste every single ingredient but in a good way.“

“I have been twice to this place and both times the experience has been good. Zucchini kofta and daal makhani was good but I felt paneer pasanda can improve. Their menu has a very limited vegetarian options which is kind of disappointing as it would be difficult to go again and again due to limited vegetarian options. “I hadn’t been here in years since they changed ownership. Looking at some of the reviews I was leery. Boy am I glad that I didn’t listen. Went here for dinner last night and everything was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken, fried catfish, lambs, crab cakes and sides of Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collards, potato salad, and corn bread were all superb. It definitely tasted like eating at your grandmothers. The potato salad was just like my Gma’s; finely diced with celery, celery seed, and a slight tang of mustard accompanied by a slight sweetness. The collards are vegan hence no meat but were still delicious, tender, and flavorful. The drinks were delicious as well. The portion sizes were quite large with everyone having leftovers except for the lamb chops they were so delicious that my friend ate all of them. Matter of fact when she accidentally attempted to cut them with the wrong side of the knife it still went through. Couldn’t recommend more supporting this black owned business.“

“A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“

“The hubby and I came here on Sunday, 3/24/2024, when we arrived the restaurant was basically empty, so we were sat right away and asked where we wanted to sit. Our server brought over water right away and soon after we ordered a California roll (me) and the hubby got one unagi sushi for a dollar (a special). The California roll was fresh, well rolled and really delicious, my husband said the same for the unagi. My husband also got the chicken thigh yakatori for three bucks, it was brought out hot, tender and delicious. For our entrees, we both got Tonkotsu, we added an extra egg and shared it, so we would each have one full egg in our ramen instead of just a half. The Tonkotsu was fire, the broth was hot and buttery, egg perfectly cooked and yolky, the pork was tender and flavorful and overall just great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. One final note, service was great and friendly!“
“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“
“I don't think it's clear that this place is located within a hotel. So, for starters walking around trying to find the place is a bit frustrating. The food, however, was very delicious. We did the Sangria Sin Fin option for brunch. Bottomless Sangria is what made this brunch stand out from others There wasn't a dish we didn't enjoy. I was disappointed that I could not have unlimited red Sangria because it wasn't available so I had to settle for Peruvian Sangria. I do not like that a credit card is required for reservations. In fact, I almost didn't go because of this feature. It's confusing to require a credit card but it's not charged for a deposit or anything. When paying I assumed they already had my card on file since it was necessary to book but they didn't so I'm not sure of the point of requiring a credit card. Additionally, it could be the time we chose but other groups seemed to be noisier than necessary including some children screaming. We were seated in a corner away from other tables but were still shocked by the noise. Overall I'd try again sometime in the distant future.“

The carrot dip, beef, and waffle were especially tasty. They have art by local artists for sale on the walls, giving an interesting visual component to the restaurant experience. Two small criticisms: The coffee was strong enough to use in batteries, and for a party of two, the small table meant that ordering any more than two dishes at a time resulted in frustrating dish juggling. “My husband, myself, and our three sons dined here last night. It was a such a wonderful and unique experience from start to finish. We had the pasta paella, the oxtail croquettas, the pork belly bao, the ceviche for dinner. For dessert we had the jelly like pie, the cafecito, and the chocolate and mango/passion fruit ice creams. The music and atmosphere were so dreamy. The decor was so beautifully interlaced together with tropical plants and midcentury modern furniture and fixtures. After telling the waiter three times I would like my steak medium and my partner steak medium rare they couldn’t get that right and when we advise them of their mistake the waiter and the manager both laughed and said o well sorry. I’m not the only one I had a friend that ate here a few weeks ago and told me it went downhill also. So they gave us a $10 discount on a $200 bill“
“I’ve been wanting to go to Cork for years, and never made it in, so I finally made a reservation for a Friday night and I’m so glad that I did. At first I didn’t even know there was an upstairs section, but we were seated upstairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“

And surprisingly, their prices are reasonable.I highly recommend the pan seared salmon as the salmon is super crispy, while the curry and noodles make an excellent dish. The shredded papaya salad on top gives a nice acidity and crunch to the entire dish and brings it together.I also really enjoyed their apple dessert that has a cookie, apple, mousse, and two or three other variations of apple to go onto the dessert.“
“We hosted a happy hour at the brig -- and had such a great time! Clifton was a breeze to work with; once we confirmed our event date, we paid a deposit that went straight to food orders day-of. We arrived a bit early and found that the tented area had been roped off as reserved--it was the perfect space for nearly 50 guests that came and went over the course of 3hrs. Food was delicious, bar as easy to mobile order from with options for every palate. We will definitely be back!“

We were looking at the outside menu when he came out the door to service a sidewalk table and asked if we were going in as he held the door for us. When we said we were undecided, he said we should because it was the best food in Georgetown and that he had a great table for us right in the window. We all agreed that we should. The food was good. My steak, which I ordered medium rare came out medium well, but it tasted so good that I told Hoshi I would eat it anyway. I had the hibiscus margarita, which was amazing and was even topped with a hibiscus flower which was edible.“

“Alice is a nice place for girls night. The ambiance was lovely, low lighting and cute decor. There is a bar with seating for four. Based on other reviews, we made reservations to be on the safe side. It was a rainy Wednesday when we went so there was plenty of seating available. We were greeted and taken to our table immediately. We started with cocktails. The white rabbit is a tequila based cocktail and was quite refreshing. We also ordered the chicken wings and curry puffs as appetizers. We were not a fan of the wings but the curry puffs were amazing! For the entree, I ordered chicken pad thai was very authentic and topped with peanuts and fresh bean sprouts. I really enjoyed this flavorful dish. This is a very intimate spot and the entire staff was attentive to all of the guests. I plan on returning to try more food options and upscale cocktails. Note: There is no parking available in front of establishment. The nearest metered street parking is on S Columbus Street.“
