“My wife and I were walking by The Saucy Sailer a few days ago and a young woman working there asked if I wanted a sample of the Cottage Pie. I said sure. I took the sample and we continued walking as I tasted the sample of the Cottage Pie. All it took was one taste and I said to my wife, this is absolutely delicious. I had to have more. When we finished our walk on the beach we returned to the Saucy Sailer and told her how much I liked it and we bought three meals, one for my neighbors, and two for us. I just had some of the Cottage Pie tonight for dinner and it was so so so good. YUMMY. TWO THUMBS UP. FIVE STARS. All I can say is go get some!!! Thanks Saucy Sailor for some of the best food that I have had in a long time. This place is tops!!! I can't wait to try all the other items on your menu. Thanks again and see you soon.“

“Delicious. The owner is very kind and friendly, the food is fresh, feels homemade, as if I were a guest in his home. I am not familiar with Honduran food, but the Honduran enchiladas to me are more comparable to the tostada in form. The mashed potato was a surprise and a fun twist to my inexperienced palate. The sauce on top of the cabbage adds an extra dimension, balancing the meat with a pleasant acidity that beckons me to take the next bite.We also ordered the quesa birria con consomme, which was a huge portion packed with slow-roasted beef, melted cheese, and a lovely dipping broth. The owner mentioned the recipes were passed down several generations. That was the theme across their dishes, a respect and reverence for what came before, treating everyone as a friend, and welcoming you to their casa with a great meal.“

The decorations, wooden architecture, and dim lighting invokes a feeling of relaxation after a long day of hunting.Food at Skål was decent -- there is little variety, but certainly a few unique dishes to try. Specifically the venison and pork belly skewers are a must. It took just one bite to taste the abundance of flavor.Drink choices are solid as well; the blonde ale I had tasted fine. Prices are a little high, but in line with Ballard expectations. One unique note are the various Viking-themed board games available to play. There is a large collection to select from, and provide great entertainment for a party intending on drinking and chatting out into the night.Overall, I recommend Skål Beer Hall as a great place for gathering in general, and even more so for (Nordic)themed ones.“

“A consistently good, but rarely exceptional brewery. Perhaps my expectations are too high due to the history, head brewer, etc for this brewery, but I was expecting some truly fantastic IPAs. While all of the IPAs on tap were definitely above average, nothing blew us away in the way we hoped. Cloudburst definitely knows what they are doing, though. I expect them to be a pillar of Seattle brewing for the foreseeable future. Staff was fine, but not particularly friendly or knowledgeable. While we went in the middle of winter, it was approximately the same temperature inside as it was outside as well. There are a few kinks to work out as far as service goes.“

“as this was my first time trying gumbo, I'm not sure I'm fully qualified to judge this, but I'll give it a shot anywaynormally, I don't like soups, because they're mostly liquidhowever, this was less of a soup and more of a dish with a ton of sauce - due to how much stuff is in hereI loved that this bowl was completely packed with solid ingredients - so each spoonful got you a variety of different thingsthe most important thing in a soup is getting the broth right - and I have to say they pretty much nailed itthe liquid has some spice to it - which very much pleasantly surprised me, and in addition, it has great depth of flavorI found it to be probably the best part of the bowlnone of the toppings are particularly noteworthy - they're all pretty solid additionsas mentioned earlier, the amount of meat in here was pretty fantastic.I noticed chicken and sausage as being especially present throughout, and both were pretty goodthe bread was decent - I thought it could've used more toasting/crispiness and more butter - as it became a bit too softwhen dipped in the gumbothe fries were also ok - i would've loved if they were seasoned with some sort of cajun seasoning - but the sauce was goodthe price wasn't too expensive, around 15 dollars, but the portion size wasn't huge either - so it's about a wash thereOverall, good flavor with a ton of different ingredients. 8/10“

It is a really nice space and has a nice outdoor area and is in a great neighborhood. The neighborhood has a 1990s nostalgic light feeling, in a way that the other parts of Seattle do not currently have anymore. The almond raspberry cake was so moist, not overly sweet, fresh whipped cream, fresh raspberries, and topped with some crunchy almonds, just the right amount of sweetness! Strawberry shortcake was just like grandma made it. The strawberries were just the right sweetness, fresh whipped cream, crop lu shortcake made the right way so it socks up the strawberries goodness! Lemon bar was sweet and tart equally. The crust had the right amount of crunch and buttery goodness. Lemon cheesecake was creamy and lemony dreamy! Service was friendly and helpful. Downpour Brewing Brewery • $
10991 NE State Hwy 104, Kingston - 0.19 miles

“Love Downpour. Living in Edmonds, one of our favorite things to do is walk on the ferry to Kingston and spend the afternoon in one of the coolest towns in Washington. And a stop for a pint or two at Downpour is always part of the experience. It has to be! Friendly people, great variety of brews and a fun atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough.“

“Excellent food and friendly owner/operators. Finally was hungry at the right time and place to try it. The smoked brisket pancit is I wish I'd looked more into them before; I'm confident that leftovers will be incredible too!Vegetarian options: Many customizable dishes to be veggie only, or tofu.Wheelchair accessibility: Food truck and they park smart, wheelchair users should have no trouble accessing the order window. As with most foodtrucks, the window is fairly high up so be prepared for that.“

Rooftop Brewing Company Brewery • $
1220 W Nickerson St, Seattle - 11.46 miles

“Love them absolutely to bits. They are my local pub, I hadn't planned them to be, and I couldn't be happier about it, other than it being dangerous them being so close by.The best staff, lovely brews, chill atmosphere, pet (not just dog!) friendly, and genuinely just a nice place to hang out for a hot second. Not to throw shade too hard, but would 100% recommend over old stove which is also nearby. Rooftop has better beer, staff/denizens, and vibe by a mile. If you want a grumpy bartender and fratbro atmosphere, go to old stove. If you'd like to sip lovely beer, maybe love on a chill doggo, and just generally have a nice day, stroll on down to rooftop.“

Bainbridge Vineyards Winery • $$
8989 NE Day Rd, Bainbridge Island - 8.59 miles

“One of my FAVORITE things I did in Seattle! Bainbridge Vinyards is the only winery on the island that grows all its own grapes, and grows them all on the island! The tasting fee is only$18 for 4 tastings. We shared one, and the man pouring was so friendly and gave us a smidge more each pour because we shared. It worked and we obvs ended up buying more glasses, lol. The tasting takes you through some really unique wines. They offer snacks too, and allow you to bring your own. You sit on the patio or can even move closer to the vines and eat amongst the grapes! If I lived here I would come here every weekend. It was so peaceful and idyllic. It should be noted, do not be fooled by the bus route which seems like it will take you close enough you can walk. The bus in Bainbridge is impossible, did not come when it was supposed to, and we luckily got an uber (I guess there are only a few on the island, so don't depend on uber). During the drive, I realized how treacherous walking from the bus stop would've been! Do not rely on public transportation or uber to get you here! Rent a car or call a car service if you are from out of town!!“

“Fish and chips are really good. The staff is pretty friendly. They have Wi-Fi available which is pretty cool. The only complaint I have is that it's extremely cold inside of the restaurant and a very uncomfortable to be that cold while you're trying to eat.“
