“This is quite far for me so I called a day ahead to check if it is open during a public holiday. It is so I proceeded to ask for a lunch reservation over the phone. When I got there, they couldn't find my reservation as it was mistakenly put down for midnight AM instead of PM😂

As far as the food, it's authentic and delicious. There's definitely some bot ngoc (msg) in it though.”

“Drove over from Alberta last weekend and stopped in for a late morning coffee, and the lavender oat latte was honestly one of the best I've had on this trip. The staff behind the counter were super patient explaining the menu since it was our first time there, even with a small line forming. Seating was tight but we lucked into a window spot with nice natural light, which made the whole visit feel pretty relaxed. Parking nearby was a bit of a hunt, so I'd plan for that, but it didn't put a dent in how much we enjoyed the place.”

“There’s a reason Haidilao has become so successful around the world. Even after establishing itself as a leader in the hot pot industry, they never seem to stop innovating. Every time I visit, there’s something new.

But what truly sets Haidilao apart from everyone else is the level of service. And it’s not something that can simply be described as “professional” or “friendly.” There’s a unique culture here that makes you feel like you’re coming home when you walk through the door — happy, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Many restaurants can provide high-quality, professional service. But that feeling of being completely embraced by a warm, joyful atmosphere, and being genuinely looked after, is something I’ve only experienced at Haidilao.

Over time, I’ve come to remember the names of many of the staff here. But two people I especially want to remember and thank are the managers, Kid and Vivian.

I’ve seen them handle the restaurant under intense pressure and keep everything running efficiently and smoothly. I’ve also seen how they respond when unexpected problems arise — staying calm and flexible, communicating clearly, and finding ways to resolve the situation. They have an excellent eye for detail, strong judgment, and the ability to make good decisions in challenging moments.

And a special thank-you to Kid. To us, you’ve become much more than a restaurant manager — you feel like family. We’ll keep coming back, again and again. And I genuinely recommend that everyone experience Haidilao for themselves — not only for the food, but for the unique culture and warmth that make this restaurant truly one of a kind.”

“Sat at the bar with a few of the regulars to watch the first half of the Monday Night Football game which they were kind enough to play while also having a playoff baseball game on one of the other screens. Enjoyed a bottle of Merlot at half price during happy hour which our bartender Taylor was prompt to be sure my glass was never empty, alongside a bottle of sparkling water. No food since I'd just had Thanksgiving lunch, however I did notice one of their staff Adam with a big jar of olives which when I asked for some, they were kind enough to share a handful in a glass to my delight. Super friendly staff and solid service will most definitely have me back for future happy hour visits to catch up with my mates.”

“First of all, the food we ordered was delicious, but that’s not what I want to talk about today!

I was there with a large group of friends, and while carrying a dessert dish, I accidentally bumped into a pillar I didn’t see. The dish fell and the dessert went all over the floor. I was so embarrassed and worried that I had caused a big inconvenience.

Within seconds, a waitress rushed over, told me not to worry, and made me feel completely comfortable. The staff cleaned everything up so quickly and brought us a fresh dessert within minutes.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the waitress’s name, but I truly hope she gets recognized. The customer service here is next level! ❤”

“I ordered the Thanksgiving lunch special and found it to be okay overall. The butternut squash soup was quite light, and I think it would have been better with a stronger, more pronounced flavour. The turkey was decent, though nothing particularly stood out. I opted for the cheesecake instead of the pumpkin pie, as I’m not usually a fan of pumpkin pie. Overall, it was an okay meal, but there’s room for improvement in terms of flavour.”

“Delicious! Sushi at a simple understated restaurant. Nice presentation, good portion, sizes, and great prices. The futamaki fat rolls were fantastic and so was the tempura. Hand rolls are more like a taco than a cone, and the tempura looks different but it is delicious. Everything was fresh and had balanced seasoning and flavors. Friendly people with good service. Parking out front and also the street behind and a park close by.”

It’s basically just a California roll with seared salmon and top and very thin crispy yam strips. Overall, the food is outstanding and is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Burnaby. “This place came highly recommended by family. It's in a little strip mall just east of the Royal Oak Centre (Walmart). We ordered the Korean Bulgogi pizza (our other fav is the Holy Honey Sweet Potato) and the Katsu Special Set (Alberta pork quality is much better) and asked for one change. Wanted an upgrade/ substitute to the Supreme over the default Japanese pork loin katsu. The menu only showed a surcharge of $1 for the difference under the katsu varieties and yet we paid this $4.40 for extra (Special) sauce. This wasn't explained very well by the server. Just tell us in advance if we can't make this change to your special set menu. Apparently, you were clear that the Curry Special set could only be Shrimp Tempura and nothing else.”

Highly recommended as a tribute to an immense , diverse history of Ismaili culture ! Eat healthy and tasty !! The crisp and juicy chicken samosas , delicately wrapped in filo pastry , fried cassava with divine dips , the bbq beef ribs and ginormous mince lamb kebabs were exceptional !! The Plum Wine was really good, and the sushi was fresh and delicious. The only minor downside was that the Appetizer Tempura wasn't quite crispy enough. Overall, a great sushi experience and I would definitely come back.”

The cake tasting was super helpful as well to figure out the flavour and icing we wanted. Also they were super generous in adding flowers to the cake that matched my wedding flowers. Luisa also personally delivered the cake for a small price all the way to Pitt Meadows so that she could make sure it arrived safely. The guests loved the cake as well! The large sweet & spicy roasted garlic Supreme Topped Chicken Cutlet Steak, Fries, and Orleans Chicken Thigh Burger are so fresh, crispy, juicy, and delicious! There is a unique selection of sauces and seasonings you can add to customize your tasting experience. Our favourite is the Plum Cumin sauce. Complimentary monk fruit and black tea and water is self-serve to enjoy with your meal!

Everything was considered from the ordering process with the option to order from the screen kiosk or at the counter to the gloves to keep your hands clean! The meal was so filling and we had leftovers to take home! Remember to take some free mints on your way out!

The vibrant restaurant decor is super cute with the chicken mascot statue out front and the wall art inside! The storefront is so bright and eye-catching making it easy to spot! This is a popular spot as seen by the constant flow of customers coming for dine in or takeout. There is a membership rewards program for regulars with perks such as a free birthday burger!

The broth richness was so good, and i really enjoyed the Chashu, it was savory and perfectly charred.

“I ordered crispy kare-kare and my wife settled for seafood pasta. The serving although we ordered solo, can feed two people. I would say that I loved the crispy kare-kare and my wife was happy with her pasta. The owner and other staff are so warm and you can feel Filipino vibes as soon as you enter the restaurant (we went to Kingsway branch). Keep it up!”
