I just chose regular for everything as this was my first time eating here. The only down side is it is a small shop; so waiting for your meal can be long during lunch hours. I had given up on good Taiwanese food in Vancouver for so long because I've been disappointed so many times but this place really gave me hope again! We got the combo for 2 and it was so worth it. The combo came with two black teas, two dishes of our choice, and a stir fry vegetable dish and a deep fried tofu dish. It only costed 38$. This is one of my best restaurant finds in a while. “I was surprised to see the shop still quite busy despite arriving near the closing hour on a Sunday. The shop is spacious and bright. They have space to cater both bigger groups and solo dinners. There is parking in the plaza but not a lot, so plan ahead! The staff were quick to cater to customers arriving and they explain how much the waiting time was immediately. They also take both cash and card As soon as I was seated, they served hot tea. If you order a spicy dish, they give you an option of how spicy how you want your food (ie., mild, medium, hot spicy). I ordered a medium spicy No.45 with biang biang noodles (Hot Spicy Oil on Brised Beef Noodles), and the spiciness was not too bad at all. The sauce was just the right amount of savoury - there was no overpowering element, and I really enjoyed the balanced taste. The beef was tender and the cabbage still had a little crunch to it. The biang biang noodles were the highlight of this meal, of course. It's thick and chewy, and so fun to eat! Next time I'll have to try their cold noodles and dumplings!“

“This place is amazing. I’ve been here two times and both times they didn’t disappoint, staff were very attentive and accommodating with me and my mother. There are many things and combinations to choose from on the menu. I ordered the triple iron plate with Grilled Squid, 3 Lamb Skewers, and Deep Fried Fish Filet with a Sunny Side-up Egg and noodles (w/ corn, peas and carrots). The Mushroom Tomato sauce compliments the meat and noodles when drizzled on top. It is so0o0o delicious. I also ordered the Assorted Fried Basket A1 (mix of breaded chicken nuggets, Taiwanese sausage, fish cakes, prawn crackers, and green beans). I recommend getting the Brown Garlic Dipping Sauce - it cost $0.75 extra but totally worth it with the basket. I also ordered a Mango Slush with Boba Pearls + Pudding. “Wow! Just enjoyed a gluten/dairy/msg-free dinner from Chili Dragon, and it was fantastic!We had salt and pepper fried calamari and it was crispy and tasty; amazed that it wasn’t soggy on arrival. It was accented with some jalapeño slices, onions, and green pepper strips - absolutely delicious!For mains we had crispy ginger beef, stir-fried mix veggies, and Kung Pao prawns (and a side of rice). All dishes were fantastic! Sauces seemed authentic and delicious, and each matched the dish (unlike some places that seem to pour the same sauce on everything). The ginger beef had long strips of ginger, almost candy - mmmmm?. Also, the beef was in chunks instead of strips - a wonderful beef to crispy coating ratio and better, imo, than the traditional strips. The veggies were fresh and cooked well.All in all this was one of the best Chinese meals we’ve enjoyed, regardless of the gluten/dairy/msg avoidance. I have sat next to said individuals while eating here, and those people cannot differentiate between species or sub-species of vegetables and accuse the restaurant of serving something else (ex. reviewer "kevin gao").Probably most general reviewers don't care, but I do care about giving this place a good name that it deserves. I always eat dinner here on weekends with my family because the food is outstanding. If there is a criticism, I would say the prices are getting expensive, but we are dealing with record inflation in 2023-2024.Anyways, the depth of flavour is rich; you can really taste the different types of spices and their affect on your palate. The chefs are very skilled at what they do; exceeding the already high bar of good Chinese restaurants, by being able to cook a variety of dishes that are very difficult to cook. “We went to Kurumba Restaurant alot when my children were younger because they had activities in Port Moody. We haven't been there in awhile. The minute we stepped in it felt like home. The food is still excellent. The Singapore Hokkien Mee is especially good as is the Thai style green curry. We also had the Beef Char Hor Fun - our family favourite. If you are from Singapore and long for a taste of home, go to Kurumba Restaurant and be thoroughly satisfied. Chef/Owner surprised us all by still recognizing us after our long while away.
