She made us feel welcome and comfortable. The drinks and food were beyond delicious. The ambience was warm and inviting. It also wasn't so loud with other people's conversations and music where it forced you to have to shout. My wife and I will definitely be coming back to celebrate next year's anniversary.”

Surprise after surprise, it will make you live a real culinary experience! And our waiter (fluently bilingual) was excellent and vey passionate! Along with the lady who brought each plate and explained to us what they were. And finally the manager, I believe, who came over a few times to talk about the plates, the wine and how the pasta were made the same day, very early in the morning The wine suggestion was also perfect! “Overall experience here was great! The food was super fresh, customer service was on point as expected and the atmosphere was incredibly lively. There’s so much happening here which can get a bit overwhelming, especially with all of the clashing sounds. You’ve got the main music, birthday celebrations with tambourines and the hand pulled noodle guy that walks around with his own speaker! On top of that, it’s also incredibly busy. The only thing that genuinely made my table uncomfortable was the noodle guy. He came to our table and hit our friend in the face and head with the noodle multiple times. At first it was funny, but as it kept going we got increasingly more uncomfortable. He hit all 3 of us in the faces and the entire experience made us feel really weird. Other than that, everything else was great. The waiting area is super spacious and they have lots to do to keep you distracted and busy while you wait!”

“We came for a good bye dinner with our team. Our company closed and Glowbal was selected by numerous recommendations from our other colleagues. It was an amazing atmosphere and definitely super-tasty food. When the time for dessert came, our beautiful waitresses came with our ordered sweet cake with “Happy Unemployment “ writing on the plate. It was a bittersweet moment for all of us but our mood instantly switched to laughter and we almost forgot the cause of our gathering”

“The hostesses at the front are vibrant and charming. They offer a complimentary glass of champagne to sip while you’re waiting. If you don’t imbibe, they will accommodate your soft drink request. We were seated at a table on the patio which is very close to the street. So if you choose to sit on the patio, There will be city sounds which, apart from the occasional siren, quickly dissolves into the artful landscaping. Raven, our server, was friendly and cheerful, in addition to being appropriately attentive. We started with the mini steak French dips. Expertly seasoned and grilled, new york steak strips over a button of gruyere cheese atop a tiny slice of sourdough garlic bread with a side of au jus. These were quite more-ish. I recommend them. My husband enjoyed the Mediterranean salad and I liked my seared ahi tuna salad very much. The tuna is sliced thicker than carpaccio but thinner than sushi and gently seared. The plating was elegant and the salad finely chopped with bits of mango and shaved avocado on the top.. I tasted a bit of mint leaf and the light dressing was truly perfect. The staff pay attention to the guests and, when your server is busy, they make themselves available for your needs. It appears the staff members enjoy each other’s company as well as their jobs. I observed real teamwork throughout. We had the apple pie for dessert. On its own it is delicious with a caramel apple filling and it’s flaky , buttery and crunchy crus. It can easily be shared by three people and would have been enough. But do’gild the lily’ by adding the Canadian maple ice cream. We felt comfortable and satisfied. We were pleased with every bite and the Joey Burrard experience from start to finish. We will definitely go back and try some other offerings. Go and have fun. And talk to the very friendly staff who are so willing to engage.”

“I remember when L'Abattoire first opened in 2010 and it was and still is an incredible dining experience (baked truffle oysters - a must). A staple in the Vancouver food scene setting the standard for quality and service. They have been fine tuning their craft for 15 years and you can taste it. I moved to Toronto years ago and whenever I come back to this city, this restaurant is always on my list. Thank you to the sommelier for making my solo dining a pleasure and the generous splash of sauternes with my dessert (chocolate tart the best). Cheers!”

The Sports Bar also had staff present to help direct and walk along customers from the sports bar to a near by door for easy access to Rogers arena as a private event was blocking the usual door. This was a nice touch as we feared we would have to wait in the long lines outside in the rain. Once again the team at the Sports Bars went above and beyond. We finished off the night with a Tiramisu, and it didn't dissappoint. We will definitely be back. The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. We also had the donuts.. don’t forget about those. Im still dreaming of them. Highly recommend — a truly unforgettable meal!”

Even back then, the service was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the burgers were just as delicious as they are now. The fries aren’t terrible, but when compared to the burgers, they aren’t great. Another complaint is that the new shop’s atmosphere is definitely a bit clinical, which kinda clashes with how warm and welcoming the workers are. Still, that won’t stop me from always ordering a cheeseburger original if I’m even somewhat close to the location”

If you’re a big pasta person, this place is definitely for you. That being said, the almond semifreddo dessert was not disappointing as well. As far as service goes, I appreciate that they don’t come up to you every 2 minutes to ask “how’s the first few bites?” yet all the servers are still friendly and attentive throughout. For me, it doesn’t get any better than that. Let me eat my food and if I need something, I’ll let you know. Important to note: if you’re coming on a Saturday, be sure to be there by 4- 4:10pm to make sure you get seated. The line gets really long shortly thereafter. A restaurant with a long line outside will always draw more attention than the empty ones, very clever 😉 So make sure you go early…. And enjoy!”

“I had an incredible experience here last Friday! My friends hosted a surprise bridal shower for me in the private dining room. The staff were thoughtful and helpful with the setup, allowing my them to come in early to decorate the space. They also did a flawless job with executing the surprise by pretending to bring me to a table first. The server was fun, warm and attentive throughout the night and I feel terrible that I’m forgetting her name! All the food was delicious, which has been the case every time I’ve been to Boulevard.”

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!”

The “Holly Cow” platter is an amazing selection of meats — without a doubt the best taste you can find in Vancouver.

They also offer individual BBQ sets and counter seating, which makes it easy to come alone, while the private table seating creates a wonderful atmosphere for families or friends to enjoy together.

I’m pretty cheap when it comes to going out, and this is probably the ONLY Japanese restaurant in Vancouver that I would spend 200+ on a dinner. Food quality is amazing, I’m somewhat of a fisherman and loves to foraging seafood, and the quality of seafood there is on par or even better than some seafood I caught myself. Oh and the service, I feel weird that I’m willingly paying 20% tip on a dinner. Guy’s giving me a whole biology lesson on the fish I’m eating, I’d just consider the tip as tutoring fee. 100% recommend, just send it, it’s worth it I promise.”

“The three of us and a dog came to Nonna’s Cucina on East Hastings for the first time after seeing it several times while driving by. We each ordered the rigatoni dish and in our opinion the quality was at par with Oca and La Tana. Very tasty and flavorful, and good portions. It was so neat to be served on pretty china instead of on a cardboard container. One of the staff came out while we were waiting at our table for our dishes and he was so kind to give our friend’s dog some bits of ham to enjoy! We are so glad to have tried this place out and we will definitely be returning again soon!”

I ordered this dish from the special menu, apparently a popular item. However I found the chicken stinky and old, even with the flavorful sauce I couldn’t finish the meal and left it half way.
Apparently the staff don’t have any authority or control over customer satisfaction or compensation offers, so they just said nothing is wrong with the food and expressed they are sorry. Not sure if I will try their food again.

“The hostesses at the front are vibrant and charming. They offer a complimentary glass of champagne to sip while you’re waiting. If you don’t imbibe, they will accommodate your soft drink request. We were seated at a table on the patio which is very close to the street. So if you choose to sit on the patio, There will be city sounds which, apart from the occasional siren, quickly dissolves into the artful landscaping. Raven, our server, was friendly and cheerful, in addition to being appropriately attentive. We started with the mini steak French dips. Expertly seasoned and grilled, new york steak strips over a button of gruyere cheese atop a tiny slice of sourdough garlic bread with a side of au jus. These were quite more-ish. I recommend them. My husband enjoyed the Mediterranean salad and I liked my seared ahi tuna salad very much. The tuna is sliced thicker than carpaccio but thinner than sushi and gently seared. The plating was elegant and the salad finely chopped with bits of mango and shaved avocado on the top.. I tasted a bit of mint leaf and the light dressing was truly perfect. The staff pay attention to the guests and, when your server is busy, they make themselves available for your needs. It appears the staff members enjoy each other’s company as well as their jobs. I observed real teamwork throughout. We had the apple pie for dessert. On its own it is delicious with a caramel apple filling and it’s flaky , buttery and crunchy crus. It can easily be shared by three people and would have been enough. But do’gild the lily’ by adding the Canadian maple ice cream. We felt comfortable and satisfied. We were pleased with every bite and the Joey Burrard experience from start to finish. We will definitely go back and try some other offerings. Go and have fun. And talk to the very friendly staff who are so willing to engage.”

“This was truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, the owner was hilarious and made fantastic jokes throughout the meal, he served us food and told stories that were fantastic. The butter chicken melts in your mouth. Try the happy hour lunch menu if you are by yourself. You get a tray of lamb, chicken or vegetable curry along with rice, naan, potato curry and crispy pakora. The main menu is all worth trying and sharing with friends. A very special place!”

“We had my mother's 80th celebration catered by Eat Heritage, looking for a Chinese traditional feast-type ambience, and the food didn't disappoint. Everybody had favourites, but the duck went especially quickly, and the kids dug into the fully loaded fried rice and veggie spring rolls. Me, I was all about the black sesame balls which people appreciated despite having to eat them as dessert when they were already stuffed. We had a nice mix of vegetarian and meatlover dishes with leftovers divvied up after the celebration. Completely happy with the catering service!”

“Wow, we had a great time at Gary’s tonight. Second time at the restaurant (lat time was during the rugby seven’s weekend - an exciting time in Vancouver) - first time sitting at the bar (tonight) The kitchen was great to watch, my favourite moment was when two of the cooks bumped shoulders and they took a moment to pause and acknowledge (so great to see such a fantastic team working together). The food was incredible and we really appreciated the table menu with an addition of the foie gras to the night. But this story begins in 2007 when we watched World Cup rugby on a patio in Toulouse France when we had our first Fois Gras. The fois gras was just as good as our first experience - thank you kitchen! Thank you to all the staff but especially to Tina who provided some incredible pairings for the meal!”

“Where do I even begin. This experience was just that…an experience. Every single detail of our meal was meticulously thought out and considered. Chef Lee loves his craft and his passion for quality shows. From the moment you walk through the door it’s clear the night is one to remember.

Lee’s also assisted by his wonderful wife only making the experience that much better. It felt more like we’ve been invited to dinner at their home than at a restaurant.

Every ingredient, plate, cup and detail imaginable was carefully selected. You’re truly paying to watch someone prepare food they love and it last felt in each bite.

I haven’t left this wow’s after a meal in a long time and the recognition chef Lee and his team have gotten is well deserved.

“We went for lunch on a weekday with reservation beforehand. This place is very popular and with limited seating so reservation is a must. We tried quite a number of dishes and each was a very pleasant surprise. The Tum Pia Ra salad was very refreshing we ordered it non spicy as my daughter tried the regular one before and she felt it the spiciness was overwhelming. The crispy pork toast I will highly recommended. Then the Tom Yum soup was so good is another must try. We ordered the soup only with mild spiciness but I think next time we would go for the regular spiciness. Pad See Ew was also very good but last but not least and my most favourite dish of the day was the mango sticky rice dessert. You have to try it cos it's hard to describe in words to do it justice.”
