“This little hidden gem in Irvine served up some amazing food. Ordering is easy through a kiosk. The food comes out packaged in take out boxes. There are a few tables in the restaurant for eating and some patio chairs outside. We ordered the pork banh mi, garlic noodles and pork belly, Thai tea and lychee lemonade. The banh mi was flavorful and had the perfect amount of meat. The garlic noodles and pork belly was my favorite. The pork was so crunchy yet still juicy. There's a green sauce for your noodles which was absolutely addicting. The Thai tea here was legit, on the level of any boba shop. I definitely recommend Saiga if you have never tried and craving some good Vietnamese food!“

They check your reservation and bring you in to the back behind some wooden doors.We were celebrating an anniversary and they offered a complimentary champagne or dessert. The service was excellent. If I were coming back, I would probably choose a lunch time since at night time, you can't see anything out the window, or the menu to be honest. My favorite items were the Vietnamese steak and eggs (super tender meat and flavorful sauce) and the Cajun seafood platter (tender crawfish, shrimp, clams, and mussels). The $4 extra for live/fresh seafood is totally worth it. The seafood platter comes with delicious bread, which was perfect when dipped in the sauce! The crispy calamari was delicious (batter wasn’t too thick). The hot stone pho was average. I personally didn’t notice a significant difference between pho in a hot stone bowl vs regular pho. My bf loved the garlic noodles, but I thought it needed more flavor. All the items we got I would probably give 5/5 stars except for the pho and the garlic noodles, which I would give 3/5 stars“

I had the beef brócoli substitute the beef for ham and it was good, I enjoyed it. My husband had the shaking beef and he liked it too, he wished it had more of the marinade/sauce. “The food here is absolutely delicious! I had the house special shrimp and it was delightful. The breading was perfect, shrimp tasted fresh and the sauce was really good. My grandpa had the orange chicken and he really enjoyed it, I had a piece as well and it was fresh and crisp. My wife had the Beef Pho and it was soooo tasty. Definitely some of the best pho we have had. The owner of the location helped us pick wjat yo get, and was very helpful from start to finish. It is a family owned restaurant so totally get some TLC. The ambience us great, pretty spacious with very cool fish tanks as well. If you are in the area, I suggest you give this spot a try, you won't regret it.“

First class service, I swear you have 5 amazing people waiting and helping you. But not overly hawkish. The Italian water , I think Panna, is definitely a must try. We also enjoyed the Tomahawk, then a boneless ribeye, the lamb...mmmm cooked to perfection! Of course the garlic noodles and garlic rice to accompany the feast of meats! Calamari was a non chewy hit! Thank you for the delicious Asian flare on the Sashimi. Okay, my final, and my most favorite of this amazing dinner, drum roll please......filet mignon potstickers! There are no words, just pure delight. We all had a cocktail with dinner. The price for 6 adults and one child was about $820. We chose family style so we could enjoy all the delectables.“

The pricing is a steal too — I’d pay a lot more for their banh mi but it’s awesome to see a business not be all about raising prices all the time. You can get a drink and a banh mi for like $13!Drive through ordering is easy but can get crowded. “Ah, this spot is a nice little green oasis in the concrete jungle of Orange County. Great spot to relax and sit amongst the tendrils of vines. They even have some neat art books to peruse on shelves next to the bathroom. As for food, hubs and I split a pho banh mi, French dip style + some egg rolls. He got a Vietnamese iced coffee and I had the iced jasmine tea. All delicious, all decently priced. Good spot to go to without having to go to Westminster. But it was really, really hot in there , that's the only issue i had. I've tried the Stanton location twice and never thought it was that great but I've also tried this location at south coast twice and loved it both times! Not sure what's different between the two but glad I didn't give up on it! The service is great here, very fast to take our order which I like because we know what we want to order at this point (phở tái). The broth is full bodied and the meat is tender. If you come with a group of two you'll probably be seated at the bar which is really nice and intimate and has buttons to call the staff in case you need them. If you come with a bigger group you'll be led to the tables in the back which is more comfortable to socialize with friends or family. If you sit at the bar you'll pay at the counter where you checked in.“

“I just saw an Instagram Reel about someone making some bánh chưng and using a waffle iron to make it crispy. I was intrigued. I've never heard of bánh chưng nor had it before. But, it seems similar to a Chinese tamale (zongzi or doong). I Yelped and found Minh Phung as a place that sells bánh chưng. It's in an industrial strip mall tucked away in a residential area. I went in and the lady that helped me told me they only had one bánh chưng left since it was about a week past the Lunar New Year. So, she sold it to me for $15. She offered and I didn't even consider asking. Normally it's $26 so I got quite a deal. Such a nice lady. Thanks so much!“

There were three people in the kitchen but only one person was cooking the other two were helping with prep and expediting but the cook/chef was a one man show. The wings took a little time so we thought they forgot our order, but when they came, they were definitely worth the wait. The were crispy on the outside with a mild hint of fish sauce, not overpowering, and the inside was nice and juicy! Given that the wings took a little while to come, we thought we had a little more time to eat the wings before the pho came, but shortly right after the wings arrived, the pho came out. So we hustled to finish our wings and start on the pho before it got cold. By now, there was a crowd that was starting to accumulate at the front door and people were crammed inside to stay out of the wind. I'm glad we got our food at that point as service was almost out the door as it got really busy. We tried to ask for additional condiments to eat with the pho, but they never came. The pho was good, but it could have been much better if we were able to get extra condiments with our pho. We were surprised that no one came to check in on us or give us the check since it was just the too of us sitting at a 6-top table and the crowd was growing. We finally had to flag down someone to get the check, seems like that owner was running all over the place.The menu at Phan's Kitchen and Bar boasts a selection of contemporary Vietnamese fare, promising a fusion of traditional flavors with a modern twist. The ambience is getting better by the day since we started dining there over 2 decades ago, I am not giving it a 5-star mainly because the rest rooms are situated outside and around the corner but this will too be remedied after the expansion plan is completed in the next few months. By the way, there's underground parking in the complex in case you can't find space on the street.“
