“Pho broth tastes great, portion is okay I'm not full after eating large. I've tried large brisket pho and chicken pho. One of the spoons still had food stuck on it...... After I put in all the veggies I noticed one slice is stale or bad jalapeno. I had to pray that God will protect me from getting sick... Imma take detox pill at home... Although I want to continue support business here I don't feel spending $22-23 after tip is really worth my money. Honestly this restaurant team need to try harder to gain more regular customers. I've eaten at so called best pho restaurants in OC and LA. Brisket pho was better than chicken though. However after experience today, I ain't coming back... I even tipped 25%... So yeah I'm not a difficult customer to satisfy. Goodluck Saigon Gem team, you guys have real potential but you guys need to listen to customers and make real lasting positive changes. I first gave 3 star but 4 stars is the maximum I can give. I'm being generous like how much I tip... Sauce bottle was sticky...“

“The food here is absolutely delicious! I had the house special shrimp and it was delightful. The breading was perfect, shrimp tasted fresh and the sauce was really good. My grandpa had the orange chicken and he really enjoyed it, I had a piece as well and it was fresh and crisp. My wife had the Beef Pho and it was soooo tasty. Definitely some of the best pho we have had. The owner of the location helped us pick wjat yo get, and was very helpful from start to finish. It is a family owned restaurant so totally get some TLC. The ambience us great, pretty spacious with very cool fish tanks as well. If you are in the area, I suggest you give this spot a try, you won't regret it.“

“Went there yesterday for the first time. Ordered Oxtail Pho and filet mignon fried rice. Both were very delicious. The Pho was amazing, it was not as salty as other Pho restaurants and the filet mignon fried rice was one of the best I had. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely go back.“

“I have been going here for years - since I was a kid to be exact! This was when their walls used to be a medium shade of pink lol. My dad was a huge pho enthusiast and this was one of his favorite spots. After my dad passed away when I was 10, we stopped going. We continued on with our lives and I eventually found myself living in LA for 3-4 years and moved back to OC in 2020.I drove by the shopping center soon afterwards and saw that it was still open! So, I went in and tried it again. Their fresh spring rolls are always* tasty. I LOVE their combo fried rice and their fresh coconut juice. I'm one of those customers that once you find your favorite dish, it is hard to try another one because you just can't get enough of it. I am not a big pho fan like my dad was, but whenever we went here it was like a trip to Disneyland for him LOL.They never changed anything about their food or service since I was a kid. To be exact, I must've been 6-8ish when we began going. I'm turning 27 this year. To say that about a restaurant shows how much they value quality.“

“We enjoyed dinner tonight and the food was excellent. The noodle and rice dishes were so flavorful and the filet mignon cubes would just melt in your mouth. The restaurant is small and simple but very clean and staff is super friendly. I can't wait to go back again. Highly recommend you give them a try.“

“We came in right when it opened they were quick to get us seated. They got our order down pretty fast well. We didn’t have to wait long before our food came. We got the combination pho and combination fried rice. We love their chicken wings so we got one plate of those as well. The ambiance is great they made renovations to the location and the lighting and the fixtures look great. We like coming here with our family and extended relatives. We will definitely come back again soon.Parking: Great parking just outside of the restaurant.“

“I’ve often gotten takeout from this place when I’m in South OC, and it always satisfies. The portions are huge AND high quality, which is rare to find. Each entree lasts for at least 2 meals and doesn’t get soggy at all even after being refrigerated, so it’s the best value for quality out there. My favourite dish is the spicy chicken with Sichuan peppercorns, but I recently got the eggplant without bell peppers and liked it too. My partner also let me try some of his Mongolian beef, and it was so good that it might just be the next dish I order from here.“

“This is a great little place. As soon as you walk you are greeted by a staff member, usually they're come from the kitchen because they seem to constantly be running food out to the tables. They typical Pho Soup w chicken is pretty good, and I would highly recommend the extra spare ribs! They are amazing!. Now back to the soup, like most places, the deep flavor comes from the sauces, bean sprouts, mint and of course jalapeños!.The tables are clean, and the utensils are bountiful with a tin on each table with chopsticks and such. This is a great place.“

“I’ve lived in San Francisco for years. So, I know Pho! And, tbc it takes a ton for myself to feel motivated enough to even consider offering up any kind of review. This place is on par with all the high end Asian cuisine restaurants you can find in the OC. Broth tasty. Meat lean and tender. The server was friendly and consistent. And, with a trendy, up beat atmosphere, that invites you in, too. Chloe took care of me like I was fam as a first timer. I do value great service. And, the cooks (wud up, Matt!!) know how to throw it down. Go here if you’re looking for a satiable dish, and you’ll be happy that you came.Vegetarian options: Superb option.“

“I love this place. It's a small local spot with great service and great food. My favorite is the pad see ewe but I also love the combo pho. I've tried so many dishes here and you just can't go wrong. Vicky is fantastic and so friendly.“

Staff were extremely friendly and helped me put together a delightful dish!So excited that this place is literally 1 min drive from my school ?Rating: 8.7/10Kid-friendliness: Ask your server about options for the little ones!“

“Prompt and friendly service from people who appear to be enjoying their work. Clean and modern decor feels comfortable too. The food is good but a bit pricey and not quite as tasty as some of the more authentic, "hole in the wall" places you find in strip malls.“

“Ah, this spot is a nice little green oasis in the concrete jungle of Orange County. Great spot to relax and sit amongst the tendrils of vines. They even have some neat art books to peruse on shelves next to the bathroom. As for food, hubs and I split a pho banh mi, French dip style + some egg rolls. He got a Vietnamese iced coffee and I had the iced jasmine tea. All delicious, all decently priced. Good spot to go to without having to go to Westminster. I'm always finding fusion restaurants dubious, but this one did a great job of honoring Vietnamese food while making subtle twists.“

“Great find tucked away off of Newport Blvd. The service and quality are excellent and very reasonably priced. While the Pho' is great there are many other good choices and nightly specials. The Clay Pot is great, and my favorite is the Shaken Beef!! Good stuff!!“

“This is my favorite place for last- minute cravings. The quality of food is consistently fresh and good. The owner has always been improving and expanding the menu selections. The staff is efficient yet friendly. The ambience is getting better by the day since we started dining there over 2 decades ago, I am not giving it a 5-star mainly because the rest rooms are situated outside and around the corner but this will too be remedied after the expansion plan is completed in the next few months. By the way, there's underground parking in the complex in case you can't find space on the street.“
“They have all the classics and favorite dishes here. My kids love the pho and enjoyed the fried rice as well. The aromas are so fresh and exquisite. Service is always excellent and the fact that this place gets a lot of foot traffic means their ingredients are always fresh.“

“This place has been here forever and a day... must be pretty good to have survived this long. Tried a beef Bahn Mi and it was pretty good. Not as good as you get up in Westminster or Garden Grove but still good and worth trying. Also tried the chicken fried rice and that was really good! We will be back to try more things for sure. Located in Gateway center where stars on Alicia.. parking is super easy.“

“We have had take-out pho on multiple occasions from Pho Lantern. Tonight we chose to dine in with two of our kids. We had such a fabulous experience. The food is always delicious but the service was extraordinary. Our server Vui had an incredible grasp of customer service and wowed us with her amazing hospitality. We LOVE Pho Lantern.“

“Came here for lunch to use a gift card, and overall thought the food was solid. The menu was straightforward and simple. Got the spring rolls and the Pho Tam Cali special. It was cool they let us try both the shrimp and BBQ pork. You can choose the peanut sauce or the house sauce. The spring rolls and sauce were solid, but nothing special. The pho was quite good! There was a good variety of meat in the Pho Tam Cali special. There didn't seem to be a lot of noodles, compared to other places, but that's ok for me since it's hard to eat a ton of noodles. The amount was just right for me. The place is small, and doesn't have the nicest ambiance. Service was quick.“

“If you're craving pho or Vietnamese food but want a nicer ambience and a sit down dining experience then this is for you. Pham's kitchen has great food and a more intimate vibe vs your typical casual dining Vietnamese places.I love the filet mignon pho with fresh noodles, the chicken wings and sweet potato fries. Would love to try a cocktail here next time too.“

“Came here midweek and it was pretty quiet inside the restaurant, but a lot of pickup orders were being made throughout our dinner. Ordered the grilled pork chop and the Grilled Beef Short Ribs. Both were very good, but I would definitely order the pork chops again due to it being on the bone, and serving size. The short ribs were already taken off the bone, and didn't seem to offer as much protein as the chops. Also ordered the Shrimp Spring Rolls, which were just ok, I don't think I'd order them again. Overall, I'd give this place a solid 4, for flavor and price point. Service was a little rough around the edges, but, nothing we couldn't get over.“

“First time trying and it was definitely an experience. The service was quick and I got the garlic noodles with chicken and it was so so good. The flavor was great and it wasn't dry at all! Also, the guy working was so sweet! Gave my 2 friends a free drink and was just genuinely so nice. I also love how they're open late cause this is a great late night spot.“

“I have been eating here since 2002 while still in high school. First time ever eating Pho here. These 3 Viet guys from my classes introduced me to Pho at this place. Been going here whenever I’m craving Pho or Viet food in the Irvine area. The most flavorful Pho broth out of any Viet restaurant I’ve ever ate in California.“

“I used to live close by and frequently visited Phở the bowl. Always ordered stir-fried beef noodles, grilled pork vermicelli, and wonton soup. Those were the most flavorful to my taste. Fast service and you can also take out or order through delivery apps.“

“We came for dinner on a weeknight, right around 7pm and it was not busy. Seemed understaffed, took a while to get even acknowledged, get seated, and get menus. Once we got the menus, we had to flag our server just to order. It has an okay vibe to the place, not bad, but not as lively and friendly as other places we've been. About 10 minutes later, we finally got to place our order, which felt like an eternity. Considering we were one of only a couple customers, the customer service was disappointing. I felt like I needed to get up every 5-10 minutes just to get something, to order, ask for chopsticks or bowls, or get the check. Normally, a server would come once or twice to check on us, not here. The food was fine, we got lemongrass chicken and rare beef pho, prices were reasonable, not as much as we've gotten at other pho places, but it's also not as expensive either. That's the one redeeming quality of this place, which keeps the rating higher, but would have appreciated better service, which took off one star.“

“Happy Pho is a hidden gem, offering a variety of delicious pho options. It's undoubtedly one of the best pho places I've come across. “I am sooooo late in giving my review. I went April 5th before going to work. This area has many places to eat at but this place kept catching my eye every time I was here. The service was great. I didn't know what I wanted as it's my first time so the cashier helped me pick. I wanted vermacelli and she suggested the chef selection which is a little of everything. I also got a drink. The place was clean and had a nice ambiance. I came just after it opened so I had time to myself as I waited. My food arrived and I was stunned at the volume and look of the food. Yes, I was hungry. But it really was a nice bowl of fresh food. You get an eggroll, bbq pork and shrimp. The bbq pork was cooked well and the eggroll reminded me of my mom's recipe. And the shrimp. Good portion of 5-6 and a good medium/large size. Cooked to PERFECTION. It was not over cooked and there was the slight pop of the meat when you first bite that led to a beautifully cooked shrimp. As I was leaving, I assume, the owner spoke with me. She asked how my food was and I told her it was my first time there. She was so inviting and had a warming presence. We talked for a few minutes and she asked that I reviewed when I got the chance. Give this place a chance! Inflation is hitting everyone hard. But if you have time and funds to treat yourself to some viet food, come here.“

“We were from SaigonWe ate very well. Rice was amazing. Soup was good, and the vermicelli with the meat and salad were good. Wrapp, it tasted close to sushi. We liked the food a lot and would return. The place is normal. Ninete of what. It looks like an easy little restaurant. But the food, who loves Vietnamese cuisine, really good!“

“This is basically a takeout restaurant and the food is supposedly authentic Vietnamese so we'll see about that! The kids who work here are very nice and helpful and know about gluten-free and they have a lot of interesting gluten-free items on their menu! I ordered the pho noodle soup with tofu, tofu, mushrooms, and a veggie broth. I also ordered the pork belly lollipops for the boyfriend I'll let you know how it is later after I bring it home and devour it“
