“My homegirl introduced me to this place and is educating me in her food and culture. The resturant was clean, neat, and the customer service was courteous and fast. There was only an hour left before closing when I got there but they didn't rush us at all. I got a super delicious noodle broth with carrots in it and am so glad I went here instead of the other restaurant next door. I definitely want to go again and try out the other dishes they have and expand my pallette.
Parking: I park close to the resturant bc it's pretty ghetto the neighborhood and street this resturant is on.“

“Broth was excellent and legit. Noodles ok, sides were fresh. Not a strong broth but very flavorful, not cloudy and clear, not too much fat(I prefer fat) had plenty of meat products. I ordered a combo since it was my first time here. Highlights were the broth and the prices for a large was 10.95. Service was really fast. Tight parking“

“4 stars because not everything on the menu is served anymore and the Yelp pics helped us decide to eat here but disappointed that the menu is limited (40 min drive). Good service, space is clean. Spring rolls could use half the amount of noodles they put in and honey ginger tea is all sugar. Overall ok food but won't come back.“

“"Pho City is hands down one of the best spots for Vietnamese food in town. Their pho is absolutely outstanding—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The broth is rich, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right depth of flavor to make every bite incredibly satisfying. It’s clear they put a lot of care into their recipe, as the broth has that slow-cooked, homemade quality that sets it apart from other places. Pair that with fresh, tender slices of beef or their savory chicken, and you’ve got a bowl of pho that feels like pure comfort food.
What truly elevates Pho City, though, is the attention to detail in every dish. Even their condiments, like the garlic chili oil and hoisin sauce, are balanced and flavorful, adding an extra layer of richness without overpowering the main dishes. It’s clear they take pride in delivering a consistently high-quality dining experience.“

“This is a mom & pop restaurant located near Chinatown. Service was friendly and prompt.
The pork banh mi was my favorite. Pork was super flavorful.
The beef combo pho was also good. Soup was a little sweeter than I’m used to. May a little too much msg but overall good portions and tasty bites.
The chicken and shrimp pho was a similar broth. Again a little sweet but good all around.
Toilets are reached by going through the kitchen so it’s really as Mon and pop as you get. Definitely worth the stop for some Vietnamese food.“

“I've been coming here since their old location since 2002. I come for the food, and the sense that these are my "aunties" making the food. I don't know another place that sells pork belly banh mi, but here. If there is, I doubt it would fill up the sandwich as much as they do here. The duck salad and lotus root salad is so refreshing too!“

“In a nutshell; small neat place to try good food. Can also grab pay and go as well.
Can get a little crowded and cramp a bit but still a pleasant experience, staff were all great, food is good, and would try again. There is a small lot available on the side to park but can get filled easily if busy. Kind of reminds me of very local eatery places in local Japan. Overall neat place if you don't mind the limited space and still want to enjoy some good food.“

“Easy to miss small corner restaurant serving up viet food. I've been driving by this place since moving to Sacramento. It doesn't look like much from outside, but oh my, it is great. Came yesterday for the first time now, finding myself sitting and waiting for my food a second day in a row. The inside is surprisingly nice, clean, and maybe recently remodeled. In Sacramento, you're always close to some great vietnamese food, and I am always on the lookout for the next best bowl of Bun Bo Hue. This place may have just been the best I've had. The broth was rich and complex, and the fresh herbs on the side were a little different than other places. The stainless steel bowl they serve in keeps it piping hot for the whole meal. The stand-out here was the noodles. I've just gotten used to the noodles just seeming like a filler ingredient alongside the typical Bun Bo ingredients. Not here. The noodles were firm, chewy, and had a bounce to them I hadn't experienced anywhere else. The egg rolls were great and the service friendly. Today, I had the beef stew noodle soup bo kho, I think, so I could take advantage of the lunch specials. It and the chicken wings were great. If i had to recommend one or the other, I would say get the Bun Bo Hue. This will be my new restaurant obsession for my favorite vietnamese food.“

“I want to love this place but I have been three times in the last month 5/8/24 and the chicken was so chewy one time I actually broke one of my molars.I don't speak up because I don't want to be a problem. What is so hard... besides the chewy @$$ chicken... is thats one of those three times the chicken was absolutely delicious!“

“I stopped by here randomly for lunch because I was in the area for work.
Ordered the #16 with a coke and overall really satisfied and spent under $16
Food was flavorful and I thought was going to be spicy but had none at all.
Amount of food was great for the price.
Was seated right away but don't expect the American style customer service where they check on you or do small talk; which I didn't mind but it's not for everyone.
Atmosphere was friendly, ton of families with kids or grandparents.
All in all Id like to come back and try something else if I'm in the area again.“

“This is the best place in town for pho! I come here once a week . lol! Finally we found the best pho! Thank you!!! I can only finish half a bowl though. I have to bring the leftovers home. Great service!“

“I had a great experience here. My friend loved the pho and I enjoyed the fresh rolls (GREAT peanut sauce) and tomato & tofu. There was some confusion bc of the language barrier but we ended up getting some free and very tasty soft tofu pudding. I want to go back soon to try the “egg” rolls and get noodles. I forgot cash so I had to go to the atm at the store across the parking lot. Everyone who worked there was so nice to us too!“

“Everything we ordered was good. I had the spicy beef soup, although it ended up being pork for some reason. The waitress kept on saying that pork leg would be better for me ?. Anyway, it didn't matter. I had to add some hot sauce tho, but I liked the dish.
C5 is good and the house special shrimps over rice were really good. All in all, we enjoyed it. It's very close to the banh mi place, so if you're still hungry you can score a sandwich.“

“Thanh Son Tofu is one of the most famous tofu shops in the Sacramento area. They offer the best tofu products and quick and easy service. The store is always bustling on the weekends. The parking lot is a little too small for the business they have. Fortunately, most customers receive very fast service, and the parking space is free up quickly.
Vegetarian options: Most of the items at Thanh Son Tofu are excellent for Vegetarian
Parking: The parking lot is pretty busy on the weekends
Wheelchair accessibility: The store can be accessed by wheelchair“

“This is just like any other standard Viet restaurant where there is the common Viet menu & same dining experience. However, the food is good: Good portions & sizes & Tastes Good. My 8 yo is super picky with his pho; as in doesn't really like pho so he never orders pho but he actually enjoyed it here! Even though he had his rice plate, which was also good, he asked to eat some of his dad's pho. That says alot! I had the chicken pho which I do prefer at Anh Dao but it's still good here. Hubby said beef pho is not quite Anh Dao good but better than alot of other places. Also broiled pork plate was good like most places. Neither the pork or shrimp skewer were burnt but still had the char taste & shrimp was cooked perfectly as it was not dry. This would definitely be my go to for evening pho since Anh Dao is not open for dinner. Definitely give it a go.
Ps. My sister says when her family of 4 go, they get charged a "Dine In Fee". We had 3 of us and there was no Dine In Fee so just keep a look out so you don't tip extra if you're already charged.“

“In a nutshell; good place to stop by and get some pho and/or other Vietnamese cuisine.
It's the kind of eatery you can reliably stop by at and for sure get a good hefty bowl of pho at any time. Place is simple but very viet/Asian. Servers are all great and accommodating. Seats and tables are simple but comfy enough as you dine through the hour or so. Overall neat place. Parking's usually easy and always available.“
“I love coming here for party trays. The prices are good and so is the food. The employees do a good job taking your order and making sure you get your food on time. Definitely don't hesitate to cater your next party with this delicious food.“

“After trying a variety of banh mi offerings in town, I can happily say that this is most likely the best vegan banh mi spot in Sac. Ordered the #8 Chay modified without butter and it was great! The baguettes are particularly amazing, so much so that I ended up buying a few to take home as well. Especially considering the price point ($6 for one large sandwich at the time of review), I definitely recommend it to anyone craving a banh mi!“
“The best Chinese food i have had and the servers are very polite. Inside the restaurant the surroundings are more than you expect after you pay most times I pay less than $20 for me and my wife. Never had a long wait and as nice as it all is not too many people there always quite.“
“I came here for lunch with a fellow coworker. First time here at this Cafe. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the inside looks well put together. The decor and dining area looks charming and inviting. Seating is self serve.
We got a table and was greeted almost immediately and provided menus to look through. Our server was nice and polite.
The menu options are simpler compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. Upon ordering our food arrived hot from the kitchen with about 15 minutes.
The food came out tasty and very delicious. The egg rolls were crunchy and yummy. My vermicelli noodle with chicken and shrimp turned out well.
Between the lunch order and the two Vietnamese coffee and side order of egg rolls total came to be about $65 with tax and tip which is on the higher side for lunch for two.
Here’s the overall score for Wondering Cafe:
Cafe dining space (5/5). Service (5/5). Food (5/5). Drinks (5/5). Value to price ratio (4/5). Over all experience (4.4/5).
Wonderful Cafe is great place to stop by for a quick bite to eat. It’s a charming little place as others have said. Expect great service but be prepared to pay a higher premium for the food. The food won’t disappoint. Will definitely stop by again and try out some of the other items on the menu.

“10/12/2021 Recommend? Yes. Let's get straight to the point: BEST VEGAN BUN BO HUE. That's it. I'm Vietnamese and since my vegan journey of more than 2 years I haven't been able to find a satisfactory bun bo hue. My favorite ones ever have always been in Viet Nam at a little stall in the market or the neighborhood house that makes it to sell. Here I ordered bun bo hue and cha gio. Do take my review with a grain of salt because I had been hungry for daysssss, well really just 1 day because I was on a train. Lol. The bun bo hue here comes with a paste and you should definitely add it to your bowl. It has banana blossom as a veggie to add, but in addition to that I would also love some morning glory. The broth was well seasoned and not overly sweet like a lot of over bun bo hue and the mushrooms, tofu, and "meats" have well absorbed the flavor of the broth too. The cha gio (eggrolls, spring rolls) were fine. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think they were extra great either.“

“Usually busy when I come here. Small little hole in the wall place that is great to grab lunch. Wait time is comparable to Gold Rush Grill across the street. I wish there was more comfortable seating available to eat at outside. Just a few metal chairs and tables. No indoor seating. That being said, food is fantastic and service is always good.“

“We love coming to this pho spot! Every time we visit, we’re seated quickly, and the staff is always on top of things. Service is fast and attentive, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. The menu is full of flavorful options that keep us coming back.
Our favorite part of the experience is our waiter, B. She is incredibly fast, warm, and always makes us feel welcome. Every visit with her is a pleasure, and she adds that special touch to the dining experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great pho and excellent service!“

“22 dollars for some kbbq⁉️
Lord forgive us all, a steal one must say.
From the get go, this place seems nice. On the outside, it seems plain and simple and nothing gives away the inside. The parking lot is pretty spacious and its not usually empty or filled. The inside is nice, well designed and feels comfortable, it just makes you feel at ease. It also doesn't have any windows so you dont notice the light outside or how much time has passed. Classic casino tactic, however they may benefit from that. The service we received was also quick and good (shoutout to her). Once seated we placed our order within 5 minutes and received our first of many batches of meat quickly. The quality of the meat is really good, among the best I've had in sac. Tender and juicy. The beef toro and the garlic pepper tender flap brisket I believe (had sesame on it) were absolutely amazing and definitely the go for. They are a bit thicker and do take a bit longer to cook so do expect that but definitely worth it. The items on the conveyer belt also did move a bit fast and I didnt grab much because it seemed that they were mostly hotpot items but thats a cool little touch. They also had a pretty wide selection of sauces which is nice. One thing I wish they had (just me being fat) is a desert option but it is what it is. Doesn't change this place from being as amazing as it is. Absolutely worth it. I loved everything and the food was amazing and definitely matched with the atmosphere. Would definitely come again during lunch because the price is just right.
Parking: Large parking lot in the front and is never filled.“
