“Great food! Love the menu and it serves everyone in the family well. Has everything in a healthy meal, meat and vegetables. But not much of the veggies so it would be something to improve. The people working there are nice I have never seen any rudeness toward my family it is a great place if u are looking for a quick and healthy meal.“

“The culinary expedition to 'Smoked Heaven' was nothing short of spectacular. Each bite of the tender, slow-smoked brisket melted in my mouth, releasing a symphony of flavors that were both complex and comforting. The smoky aroma, infused with a subtle hint of hickory, enveloped the meat, enhancing its juiciness and depth of flavor. The accompanying homemade BBQ sauce, with its perfect balance of tangy and sweet, complemented the brisket beautifully, elevating the dish to new heights. The sides, particularly the creamy coleslaw and savory baked beans, were delightful, offering a refreshing contrast to the rich, smoky meat. 'Smoked Heaven' not only delivers on its promise of authentic BBQ excellence but also excels in creating an unforgettable dining experience that leaves you craving more.“

“Best vegan food in Palo Alto. I eat here as often as I can. FYI, it's cash only for smaller orders. Very highly recommended.“

“The soup mifen/noodles seem to be all along the same lines of a scoop of meat, a scoop of pickled veggies, and a spoonful of spicy oil/sauce over a bowl of noodles. The place is quite small and there was a short wait when we arrived (peak dinner hour).Service was great!!Good place to go to satisfy the cravings, but I wish there was more variety in the bowl. Still, would come back again.“

“Interesting Chinese restaurant. Been there twice. A large selection of dishes - some very tasty, some for everyone. The portions are large (as was noted, many take two dishes for three), the price category is average, the staff is wonderful - friendly and helpful. The restaurant is quite clean. The only thing that didn't please me was the toilet. I wish it was cleaner there. You can take food to go. I was pleased that they thoughtfully provided you with napkins, cutlery, and even fortune cookies.“

“Good hunan food. It's located in a small shopping center where parking may be limited. I ordered Garlic Lettuce, and Hunan Style Sautéed Pork. Both are very good but a little oily. I especially like the crunchy texture of the Garlic Lettuce! Yummy! Service is laid back. We ordered everything and paid the meal on our phone via a QR code. Very casual quick dining.“

“Delicious staples time after time for the 6 years that we've had the pleasure of grabbing takeout and ordering party sized trays from here. Tip for trays: order at least 3 weeks out, and then if the staff doesn't give you a confirmation call the day prior then go ahead and call the restaurant after 8p to confirm.I could not find broccoli and egg tofu with brown gravy on the pre-filled recommendations list, and or should be :)The courteousness and the food itself have kept us loyal customers, this review is a long time coming!“

“I’ve never written a review before but I felt compelled to as this is my favorite local restaurant. They have a wide variety of options. Not too expensive. Food comes out quickly. Friendly staff. One of my go to places that I recommend to many friends vegetarian and meat eaters alike.“

“Family friendly restaurant with many options to choose from. Prices are very affordable considering the area it’s located in. They have monthly specials with discounted prices. They don’t make anything bland here. If you like lots of flavor with friendly service and affordable pricing, you can’t miss this place.“

“Visit time stamp: Monday, 032524 at approximately 1230. As we rolled up there was a small line just out the door. This establishment offers take-out only. It's tiny; don't expect a red carpet. Everyone is standing. You order from right to left (you'll see). The base platter starts with either chowmein or fried rice or half & half. From there you can order 1, 2, or three add-ons. Right off the bat, the chowmein base was huge already and I mean humongous. The grub here is deeeelish with gut busting portions. Their food is hot, freshly prepared and is served up by three very efficient women who understand English better than me. They are paying attention and go out of their way to fill the white styrofoam 3-course container, leaving you to think, '...there goes my diet.' On the side (not part of the lunch deal) I ordered 6 pot stickers that were moist, golf ball sized and very delish. Additionally, I ordered a couple of BBQ pork steaks that were wonderful. What a feast. Staff efficiently bags everything so your drive back to the office doesn't end up in a disaster. I highly recommend this establishment. I cannot imagine any other restaurant matching Rickshaw Corner in portions , price or tastiness of food...I'm not kidding you, those pot stickers are the size of golf balls. Cheers.“

“Our Daughter's chose this restaurant. I was a bit skeptical at first, because it seemed like we were the only customers. The manager welcomed us and assured us that the food was very good and their noodles were made from scratch. She said, "More people will come." She said it was still early. I was like, "I don't know about this" but I'm very glad we gave it a shot !!!The food was very good, we even had a show to watch (the cook was hand tossing the noodle dough). He was a bit creepy, though. LOL.We have been back several times since our first time. We will continue to go and eat here and try different items on the menu !!!Parking: There are a few free parking lots in the area...“

“Called on a Friday night and they happened to have a table for 5 available! Overall a very authentic experience - the hot pot flavors and ingredients are exactly what you would get in China (not Americanized at all). They also had a free sauce station which included side dishes! Like chicken feet. This also means the broth is quite spicy, as in "mild" is quite spicy already. We had a great time, and everything was delicious (except the tripe was not very fresh), and we finished the meal with free soft serve ice cream!“

“TL;DR The food is delicious and everyone should try it!The bone based broth has deep flavors and the standard toppings that come with the dish are plentiful and complement the noodles well. The service is excellent and the food comes out quickly after ordering.“

“Great Peking duck. The pairing sides (scallions, granulated sugar, hawthorn, soybean paste, cucumbers) are innovative and taste perfect with the duck. We went there mainly for that. Other dishes also went beyond my expectations. The sweet and sour pork ribs have special plum flavor. The steamed fish was so fresh.“

“I haven't ordered the food here yet BUT I have stopped in for the boba many times. They have such a unique boba tea menu from mango pomelo sago to tiramisu lattes along with regular boba tea options as well. I'm way more impressed with their boba tea menu and quality than Boba Guys right across the street. There is also a convenient little kiosk at the front where you can input your order which is nice if you're an introvert, are indecisive, or have anxiety ordering things (lol). My only complaint is that I've tried ordering the boba online for pick up a couple of times and the system hasn't worked for me. I'll input my order, get ready for check out, and as soon as I input my card and press finish it says "oops there is an issue". I tried a few different cards (and know my credit cards are fine) and it still does this. Not sure if that's an issue on my end with internet, etc. but it's happened a couple of times. So I'll mostly just order in person and it's fine. The restaurant side has a mom and pop family feel to it. I'll have to try the food sometime soon!“

“Great comfort food! Customers get to choose the type (size/shape) of noodles they want, from the small round to the flat belt noodles. I tried the Beef Noodles with the small round noodles. The size was quite generous. The soup was tasty and the meat was tender. I will certainly be back to try the flat noodles, my fave kinda noodles.“

“Mumu always hits the spot! This was our first time at the Foster City location. We normally patronize the Pleasanton location, but as we were coming from SFO, we thought we’d try this location.First off, they have outdoor hot pot tables available; we didn’t do it this time, but next time for sure! The restaurant staff is great here, very friendly and go above & beyond… there’s also ample parking available too.The veggies and meat are all fresh and fantastic and the sauce bar is loaded. We’ll definitely be back!“

“This is an interesting place. Have some Japanese dishes on the menu like gyoza and udon.... And contest style skewers .... And Thai ice tea? The Thai ice tea is cute though because they use the teddy bear shaped ice.Skewers are good. The servers bring them out without plates and put them on a hot plate on your table. That's pretty clever. The sets come on its own hot plate.Udon was decent.Decor is a bit weird? It's cool when you first walk in and see the flowers and lanterns and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling but there are a lot of other elements that don't seem to fit together...“

“Having visited Chef Chu in Los Altos on multiple occasions, I've found the dining experience to be generally pleasant, albeit with room for improvement. The restaurant boasts some delectable dishes and a welcoming atmosphere, but there are notable areas that could be enhanced.Firstly, cleanliness standards need attention, particularly regarding glassware and cutlery. On several visits, I've observed dirty glasses and teacups, suggesting subpar cleaning practices. It's perplexing for a renowned establishment to overlook such basic hygiene, leaving patrons questioning the maintenance standards.Another aspect warranting consideration is the imposition of a limited dining time. Despite patrons wishing to linger and enjoy conversation after finishing their meals, there appears to be a rush to clear tables, even if dishes still contain food. This policy detracts from the relaxed dining experience expected at a high-profile restaurant like Chef Chu.On a positive note, interactions with some waitstaff have been delightful, reflecting the friendly ambiance cultivated by Chef Chu himself. However, consistent efforts are required to ensure all aspects of service align with the restaurant's esteemed reputation.Regarding the cuisine, while some dishes excel, others may fall short of expectations. It seems that char siu might not be the restaurant's forte, highlighting areas where culinary refinement could elevate the overall dining experience.“

“The portions are small and the prices are high. Yet the tables are full and the wait list is long. Don't be fooled by Ping's unassuming presence, they have multiple locations including 2 in Fremont. I have been to all of them and they all slap. We usually order their Spicy Frog Legs, beef, boiled fish, fried chicken or pork belly dishes. Their Mapo Dofu makes me sweat bullets in the best of ways. I can't think of anything more satisfying on a cold rainy night. Intensely spicy with superior flavor. Truly the gold standard of Hunan cooking in the Bay Area. I give this place 5 stars because I make a 30 minute drive every week just to get to go from here.“

“I think this place is very nice and welcoming. The food was amazing as well. There is nothing I would say is bad about this place. The service was great.Kid-friendliness: There are many kids that I have seen here.“

“Amazing cutting skills were demonstrated and exhibited here tonight. Ordered deep fried squid. What we got was the extra fat deep fried batter. The squid was cut as thin as (actually thinner than) bamboo chopsticks, just like angel hair spaghetti. Enjoyed batter. Really good batter. Excellent batter. $14 batter. The string squid was used just to hold deep fried batter together. Nobody ever thought of this unique cooking technique. New invention in the Chinese culinary world. I highly recommend this restaurant BOTH to the culinary cutting skill lovers AND to the deep fried batter lovers. What a hidden gem in the Bay Area. I'm speechless. I will definitely come back again.“

“Pick a small or large dish to share, rice is provided. This place has a number of dishes to pick from. The Sichuan peppercorn souerkrout fish is virtually impossible to reproduce here due to the lack of fresh green peppercorns. This is the only place that manages to make it true to the original. The numbness of the fresh peppercorns cannot be substituted by other peppers. It's aromatic, numb but not hot. Best execution of the dish I've had on this continent Will try other dishes on their list on my next visit.“

“We ordered the Hand-pulled Laghman which was very good! Noodles were fresh, veggies and meat were tender, and the sauce was very flavorful. As an appetizer, we ordered the Gosh Naan, which was a pleasant surprise. There was less meat in it than expected, but the meat was very juicy. In terms of service, it was a little bit slower than some other places. However, definitely still recommend stopping by, food was delicious!“

“Tastes good at a decent price point. Eggplant and fish with pickled vegetables taste fantastic. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. And they would actually honor your request to make food not spicy, unlike a lot of other restaurants.Dietary restrictions: They can make spicy dishes completely not spicy. Which is very important for people with capsaicin sensitivity like me.“

“We dined on a Thursday it wasn't very busy due to rain. However we were kindly waited on and served in a timely manner. The bathrooms were also clean! There is a front and back entrance and pickup is on the left side of the front entrance when you walk in about halfway through the restaurant. (Saw many people confused by this) They have many dishes that are classic takeaway options. We didn't try anything too spicy but will have to when I return. We ordered the double mushroom chicken, veggie and brown rice fried rice, pan fried pork dumplings, and scallion pancakes( who doesn't love fried dough?) . Everything was tasty and as expected. This may be become a regular takeaway spot if I'm in rwc!“

Water spinach is also highly recommended as a dish. The Shacha Beef exceeded expectations, recommended! Every dish is worth tasting and savoring“

“This has become our go-to dumpling spot in the Peninsula. I have been looking for an authentic Northern Chinese dumpling restaurant around the San Mateo area for years. So glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem! We have come here 1-2x a month since we discovered Town of Dumpling“

“Always loved noodle talk in Sunnyvale, first time trying their Los Altos location and food was just as good! Since it’s crawfish season, tried out their spicy flavor and also the garlic flavor. Both were soooo good! And it was really big! I misjudged how big the portion was going to be and didn’t finish the rest of my food. Had leftovers for dinner though lol“

“This restaurant serves amazing Guangzhou style rice noodle rolls (肠粉), which focus more on the rice wrapper rather than the protein inside the roll. Appetizers are also worth trying. For example, the pork liver is fresh and delicious. The environment is a little bit too noisy.“

“The star here is the food presentation...which may not make sense, given this is a "cook your own" hotpot spot. But the carefully selected ingredients come out to you on gorgeously arranged platters. Not a wilted or slightly browned vegetable in sight. The meats and seafood look vibrant and fresh. The broth is flavorful. And though it may seem pricey, they bring out a lot of food. We ended up taking a bunch home and had another whole hotpot meal the next day.“

“While they have no fancy name, let's call it a Special Noodle Soup restaurant 和記 鷄湯米綫. I was shopping in Cupertino area and felt hungry. My sister told me about rice noodles at a Chiu Chow (Teo Chew) restaurant nearby. So, here we are. It was about an hour before closing time. Looked like they had a busy day. We were seated pretty quickly. Order from the dry erase menu was pretty simple. We both ordered from the Design Your Own menu as 1-2-3. I got tan tan soup base with rice noodles and beef tendons. She got fish noodles with 4 different pig and beef inners and original soup base. Besides noodles, we ordered a Hainan Chicken rice plate on the side. Food came out pretty quick. With the Yelp check-in offer, we got the wood ear salad and smashed cucumber salad in a generous amount. The noodles were absolutely fresh and delicious. I wish I live in the Bay Area. I would stop by here often.“

“Just discovered this place! Didn't know it was so close to work. It's like a little hole in the wall. What makes it a great place is their stuff is fresh. “Very authentic Szechuan food!!!Came here multiple times bc of my favorite Fish-flavored Shrimp Shreds (鱼香肉丝). This time tried Spicy Shrimp (香辣虾), which was juicy and spicy that also very good! “My family and I have been going to this noodle restaurant for almost 5 years. The food has always been great, and the quality has never changed. My kids love the braised beef noodle soup and the fried peanut appetizer. The noodles are very chewy and pleasant to eat, and the soup is always flavorful and not too salty. The food is also priced very reasonably. Although, they only accept cash, but I don't find that too much of an issue because there is a Walgreens close by with an ATM. Overall, highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: The staff are very nice and friendly to kids, and there are many menu options that are not spicy and great for kids.“

“Great Taiwanese dim sum location, very delicious.Beef noodle soup ? - the handmade noodles were bouncy (in a good way) and the meat was tender. I liked the bits of tendon on the end.The XLB (A1 and A13) were great.Fairly large seating area, a variety of table sizes. I prefer the tables since the booths didn't look very comfortable. “A great BYO Asian bowl spot on Stanford campus! The place is pretty popular with students, so there tends to be a line around lunchtime. Bowls are around $12, all meats are the same price. There is no seating inside, just grab and go, but there are some nice seating areas right outside.I had a salad bowl with half tocino and half panko chicken. Loved the texture and flavor of both meats, and the variety and amount of vegetables I got in my bowl. The tocino pork had a great sweet and savory flavor and the panko chicken was crispy and tender.Topped it off with the sriracha mayo sauce.Would definitely return to try their other protein options!“
