“This place was awesome. Best service I have had in years. I felt very welcome and they cared about my experience. Food was great and fresh.Lots of great dishes to share!Dumplings are awesomeSeaweed salad was refreshingPeanuts and anchovies was too strong for my palate. Would not order againMake a stop to experience this restaurant!!!Kid-friendliness: Casual location for the family“
“I came to this place with my sister and brother in law after they said this is the best Ramen they've ever had. I believe that now to be an understatement. My first bite of the spicy tonkotsu ramen felt like the heavens were opening. I was not the same person I was before taking that bite. The broth was layered with flavor so good I think my mind short circuited for a second. The pork melted in my mouth. Since we went a week ago I have not been able to stop thinking about this ramen and it lives rent-free in my head 24/7. I wish I could erase it from my mind in order to experience it for the first time all over again.OH we also got some appetizers - the octopus balls, shrimp shu mai and garlic edamame, all of which were fantastic and our server was an angel and the nicest person ever.I'll be dreaming about this ramen for the rest of my life“
“Wow, this is a must dine at spot when in L.A. Their soup dumplings were absolutely delicious. The noodle dish was so so, wouldn't order that again. Also it took over 55 minutes for our food to come out but waitress apologised by removing a small item from our bill at the end which was appreciated.“
“I love this place. Friendly people and great food. The best beef and broccoli ever. If you are snooty and need pretentious nonsense in a restaurant, please skip. This is salt of the Earth dining in a pleasant atmosphere (or take out) where the food shows how much work went into it.“
“I ordered a chicken pad Thai and a Thai tea and my food was great! The person serving us was sweet and the ambiance is cute it felt like being a a studio set for a show from the 90s I think it's the wood paneling ? Either way if you're around the silver lake echo park area and are looking for Thai food with parking then I'd definitely check this place out !“
“I come to LA from the east coast once or twice per year and I make my travel schedule around eating at Moto once per visit. The tan tan men ramen is absolutely the best ramen I have ever had. The broth is pure perfection... The side dishes are solid as well and the sushi is simple, but out of this world fresh and tasty. Sam is a great host. See you on my next trip Moto!!!“
“I decided to try this place out since a friend recommended it while I was in Little Tokyo. I honestly didn’t have any expectations for an udon place because I’ve had udon at the Marugame Udon chain and expected something similar. Let me tell you that this place elevates their udon to the next level. The mentai udon was easily one of my favorite meals during my trip to LA. The sauce was creamy, savory, and sweet with the perfect balance. The umami from the mentai and shrimp complements the sauce so well. It wasn’t too rich and was just right. I slurped up all of the sauce it was that good. Highly recommend and would come back. Service was also very attentive and kind.“
“I came here a long time ago when the restaurant was still pretty new. this place offers curry dishes - ramen, rice, etc. we got the curry ramen and Keema noodle. both were decent, however I'm not a big curry fan, so the dishes were a little too heavy and rich for me. It's pretty comparable to other ramen restaurants in sawtelle but this place specializes in curry so if you're a fan of that I would recommend!“
“I actually really like these noodles. Different than ramen. Noodles and broth served separate. Dip the noodles. Dip dip dip. I like that. The pork is tender and the soy egg is delicious. The serving is pretty good. It’s expensive for what you get but it’s good. You’ll like it. Trust me.“
“It was just right in terms of the portion, and the noodles were chewy with a delicious taste. However, it would be better if the kimchi and radish kimchi were provided generously from the beginning according to the number of people, perhaps in a buffet style. It would also be good to inquire about the necessity of “Dadaegi” before ordering. I found out about it in the middle of my meal. The portion was just right and the noodles were chewy and tasty. However, if you prepare enough kimchi and radish kkakdugi for the number of people from the beginning, it would be good to have them served in a buffet style. It would be a good idea to ask before ordering whether or not you need a multi-tiered device. I noticed that there was a tea ceremony in the middle of eating.“
“My go-to spot in Chinatown Los Angeles for Pho!Very quick prompt service. This place tends to get filled with hungry, happy customers pretty rapidly.Don't worry, just tell them your party size and they'll get to you sooner rather than later. IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT! With quick service, you'll be seated in no time.I've been coming here since, like 2012.There is street parking and some parking lots around. So you have the luxury of choosing your perfered parking. Basically, there's free parking and paid parking all around the restaurant.Treat your stuff to some amazing Pho, and lasty, don't forget about the spring rolls with peanut sauce for appetizers !My girlfriend is vegetarian, so she ordered #22 on the menu: vegetarian tofu with rice noodles or egg noodles. Size small or regularI ordered the #15: well done brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe. Size largeWe prefer to get the rice noodles!Vegetarian options: #22 on the menu is vegetarian tofu with rice noodle or egg noodle Pho“
“I went here for the first time tonight with the lady for Valentine's Day. It was a very nice experience despite the near 2 hour wait time. The tiramisu is delectable albeit small. The wine tasted clean, which is rare. The Crema di Parmigiano was absolutely delicious along with the Arrabbiata. However, both dishes were very salty, taking away from the natural flavors inherently found within. I don't know if this is normal, but if it is then that's disappointing. I will definitely go back during lunch hours to try the Ragu and Carbonara, and then I'll know if their dishes are oversalted or not.“
“Incredible food! Wonderful welcoming service and food was quickly delivered. Chic and fun atmosphere, and very clean. Everything was so good, but make sure to also ask for the garlic chili oil and chili powder if you want to kick up the spicy and garlic flavor a notch! I loved the basil flavor of the spicy fried rice, and the sweet and spicy flavor of the spicy garlic noodles! Everything is vegan but you would never guess it based on how freaking yummy everything is!“
“After seeing some vids about how great the mul naeng myun is here, I had to come try with my family. My sister and I got the mul naeng myun and my grandma got the sagol dduk mandu guk (ox bone soup with rice cake and dumplings). The broth of the naeng myun was clear and crisp, but a little bland, I had to put in a lot of the mustard paste and vinegar to increase the flavor. Overall, I liked the thinness and texture of the noodles, but the flavor of the soup was nothing too out of the ordinary. The banchan though... deserves a standing ovation. The side dishes were fresh, well seasoned, and Korean grandma approved. I think I preferred my grandma's rice cake soup to my naeng myun, but I would be willing to come back and try their other dishes. We got a pajeon (chive pancake) on the side as well, which was crispy and came with a lovely soy sauce on the side. The waitresses were also very attentive and kind. The restaurant was nearly empty when we walked in for a late lunch on a weekday. Overall a great experience :)“
“The food was so authentic it stunned my mom. I've never seen her so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant. It's hard to find dishes like Liangpi and Big Plate Chicken outside of China, and even if you can the flavors are often diluted. The noodles here were perfectly chewy, the stew in the BPC was rich and thick (rivaling Dolan's even). And the prices aren't bad at all. We'll be coming here again, and exploring their other locations too.“
“Looking for the best sidewalk That food in town? This is it. But it's also among the very best tasting Thai food around, whether on the sidewalk or at a regular restaurant.Everything is really well flavored, but the Pad Kapow stir-fried ground pork and basil bowl is not to be missed. Haven't had this at any other restaurants, which is a shame, because it's just that good.“
“My fav Thai noodle spot in LA quaint and unassuming. Located in the retail strip between arbys and bronson studios. Very tastey authentic thai/laos style dishes. You can't go wrong adding crispy pork to some of the dishes where that's an option. Thank you for the wonderful food, and friendly/attentive service.“
“The food was tasty, and the staff were kind. The half-sized tempura udon was perfect for me; I wasn't super hungry at the time and don't usually eat a lot anyway, so it filled me up without leaving me feeling stuffed.Came here while waiting for doors to open for a show at the Largo. I got there relatively early, just after 6pm, which turned out to be good because it seemed like they filled up with all of the theatre-goers who were evidently also waiting for doors open.I had a bit of a wait after I ordered, maybe around 10-15 minutes, max. One of the servers saw me looking around and proactively told me it was because they were making all of the udon orders together; I appreciated how attentive they were, to notice that I was wondering about my order. I didn't mind the wait too much anyway, because I needed to fill the time until 7pm.“
“My beef noodle spot for a couple of years now. I have to visit once a week if possible and I'm in Long Beach and have yet to find a better place in sevetal years! Highly recommended and their other food is amazing as well. I just can't get over how good the soup is so that's what I get every time now. It might seem like a strange location but don't let that stop you and you can thank me later. Enjoy“
“we had a great experience here at lunchtime yesterday. good options for veggies, really tasty ramen. the service especially was fantastic - as soon as we came in with my baby daughter, the waitress brought a high chair and even an age-appropriate sippy cup full of water which i was so impressed by. amazing friendly team!“
“We wanted something healthy but flavorful for dinner and happened upon this place in the neighborhood, pretty no frills on the inside. Clearly a big focus on deliveries, but there's plenty of tables. We each got a steak banh mi and WOW was it good! So much flavor, and the bread was perfect; hard enough to hold it together, but easy to bite into. The crispy spring rolls were perfect as well, clearly freshly made and decently sized. We also split some noodles and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Definitely will be back.“
“Highly recommended for those looking for authentic Chinese food with great customer service. Options available for more Western palettes as well. The menu is straightforward and easy to order for both Chinese and English speaker.Seafood was extremely fresh - my personal favorite was the lobster noodle and steamed bass!“
“After hearing so much about this place, I had to give it a try! We stopped by here on a Wednesday night around 7 pm. The place itself is really tiny, and doesn't have much seating. It also seems like people mostly do pick-up orders from here. Parking is also a pain. There's valet parking in the plaza area where it's located, which was annoying! Luckily we managed to find street parking not too far off. The service here was extremely slow, and one of the reasons I'm not giving this place 5 stars, and I also thought the fried gyozas were too greasy and over fried. Other than that, the ramen was actually delicious! We ordered the blaze ramen, which was delicious but, not for me because the spice level was too much for me, but other than, it was really tasty! We ended up ordering the churros with icecream for dessert to help with our burning mouth and tongues form how spicy the ramen was. The churros were fried to perfection and went perfectly with the vanilla icecream that came with it. Overall, had a good experience here.“
“The 2024 Smorgasburg season kicked off today, 1/14/2024! While it is not close to me, I usually go at least once or twice a month. It's an ideal spot for outdoor dining with diverse culinary offerings, exploring distinctive shops, and soaking in a positive atmosphere.Smorgasburg LA is open every Sunday on the five-acre site of the weekday Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles, which is part of a larger, new development called ROW DTLA.Each Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM, you will find dozens of exciting food vendors plus sophisticated shopping from the realms of design, craft, style, vintage, wellness, and more. Cultural events, pop-ups, and other surprises transform the vast site into a new node in Downtown LA's burgeoning scene, and a unique destination for the area.Today, I tried Pad See Ew from the Radna Silom vendor. In terms of rating for that, I want to give it 4.5 stars due to price and portion ($15+tax and not much on the plate). I remember it being larger before.Overall, it is a must-check out for various foodie options.Tip:-Free 2 hr parking-Take your food outside of the main space and sit in the main ROW area-Go with others to try many things“
“Tsujita has been a stable of Sawtelle’s competitive Asian food scene for years. It’s one of the few places you can get authentic tsukemen (dipping noodles) in town. When you are done dipping, ask the server to add hot broth into your bowl of sauce to make it a greasy but delightful finish to your meal. The only note I had this time was the dipping sauce seemed a tiny less flavorful and thick than the first time I came here years ago. But, the noodles were still the same amazing quality of chewy and slurpy. Finally, the tsukemen doesn’t have many options for veggies, so keep that in mind if you bring a veggie lover.“
“One of our favorite Hollywood restaurants!! A hidden gem not to miss. Authentic thai cuisine at very reasonable prices.Have eaten for a couple decades in Thai Town but only went to Siam Sunset a few years ago. This was the first place I've ever eaten pad kra pao & it has become my favorite Thai dish! And Siam easily makes it the best!Only knock is there's no on site parking, but street parking is usually not too tough depending on the day. Still it's worth the walk.Would give it six stars if it were possible.“
“Best Thai in the area. Been here many years ago in La Brea but still the best. The chicken curry is excellent, generous portion, savory and authentic. The basil stewed pork leg was very good but it would be nice to get less fatty parts. When you ask for spicy hot, they delivered spicy hot. Will come back soon!“
“Excellent Ramen, Kyushu Style Noodles (thin and not overcooked) The Soup was unexpectedly delicious, inspired to the Tonkotsu Pork Broth. I lived in Japan two years and this the first time I find something so authentic, comparable to the Original Japanese Ramen. Overal Super Recommended!!!“
“The portions are generous and the hearts are plentiful! This restaurant has everything! The owner was really friendly, so I felt good the whole time I was eating it. The chicken kalguksu soup was rich and not too salty, which I liked. My friend had seafood kalguksu, and there was a lot of seafood, and the soup was clear and rich!! The red bean kalguksu is really delicious, so I definitely recommend it.“
“This place is amazing. Food is great, service is top notch the only complaint I have is the plastic dividers. But I understand that’s required in restaurants now. They’re a bit too close to your seat.Spring rolls. Are frrrresh!Pho is Hot as advertised and affordable. Good prices! Fresh ingredients!Highly recommend the ban mi.“
“It was my first time dining at Thai Central. It is a gem in East Hollywood for a Thai food. The food is very tasty. We ordered a few things, Kao Clook Ka phi, Boat noodle, and Papaya salad - the was delicious. And awesome service - from getting our order in and getting the food from the kitchen to our table. I like the cleanliness of the restaurant. We dropped the lid of something on the floor , and the server took the lid from us, he cleaned it and brought it back - impressive. Very nice and friendly servers, great food!“
“Food is good. There are a few veggie choices for vegans. Ttempura vegie dish. We got vegan ramen. One bowl is plenty for 2. The waitress is pretty and very timely. The lighting is what drew us in. We tried to go into other restaurants with extremely white light and felt like we were waiting to be asked 'who dun it?' The lighting and wood walls are warm and comfortable.“
“Best Ramen in Silver Lake. The broth is uncious and satisfying. If you have no allergies, get the egg (I add dried seaweed as well). Large servings even at the smaller portion price point. Inside dining is tight, but outside heating does the trick.“
“Holy Basil is instant comfort that teleports you home. The dishes are flawlessly executed and the flavors are consistently on point. The vibe of this hidden gem reminds you of your family’s kitchen and I feel like a kid again full of excitement from the escaping aromas. I lean heavy into firing the menu family style and always look forward to memorable meals shared. Their take out withstands LA traffic to the far away land of Santa Monica. Service is hands down the friendliest in town.“
“It’s a unique take on ramen, good depth of flavor, great noodles, but for me the truffle dominates and the richness of the soup is too buttery. Like it for something new, but I prefer a more traditional take. I like truffle and I have had a dozen bowls in Tokyo. I was expecting the price, but at the end of the night it felt too steep.“
“This is located in the food court on the 2nd floor at the corner. There's signs and banners that point to this location. Great home-style Korean comfort food. I got the tteokbokki and pork cutlet, and both were excellent in my opinion. I personally liked the more home-feeling taste of the rice cakes.“
“Quaint and cozy unassuming authentic Korean restaurant. The epitome of homestyle Korean hospitality. Excellent selection of traditional Korean cuisine. We loved the Tteokbokki, bibimbap and beef bulgogi. The variety of delicious banchan really rounded out our meal. So glad we came here.“
“Been wanted try but always ended at regular Mountain cafe. Wanted try soybean broth cold noodle since saw the menu banner because never seen it elsewhere in LA.It was good and portions of the foods were so generous. Kimch was really tasty. Definitely will be back for another dishes.“
“We saw Dek Sen’s post on @sanfernandovalleyeats , so we looked them up.Dek Sen’s is an interesting name, we were told it means favorite person in Thai☺️We were reluctant to order kimchi fried rice at a Thai restaurant but so glad we did. It was amazing!!! It’s not a typical Korean kimchi fried rice. It has garlicky and tangy flavors. The runny egg yolk blended well with the rice.We also got cream cheese crab Rangoon, fried dumplings and veggie egg rolls. LOVED their sweet and sour dipping sauce. We asked for extra to bring home.Very casual, fast and friendly service. You order and pay at the counter. They don’t speak much English but they are very accommodating. We are super happy to find another restaurant close by that we love. Will definitely go back for more!“
“Wonderful quick lunch experience here. Owner is Thai, main chef is Mexican, exactly as it should be lolI got the lunch special pad see ew at $10.50 + $0.50 for fried rice, or $14 after tax / tip. Enjoyed the tofu soup, and was impressed by the quantity of the beef pad see ew. It was well-executed and I enjoyed dining in. I really wish this restaurant the best and will be back next time I’min the area!Vegetarian options: Tofu always an optionParking: Few“
“Last time I had Pho for the first time was at a different location and it wasn't good at all. So I was skeptical to try it again at this spot but MAN WAS THIS PHO GOOD. I had the shrimp pho and it was so flavorful and soo good. We also had some crispy dumplings which were also pretty good ! Service was great, very nice people attending us and making sure our dinner time was going well. And the place was just so calm and relaxing. We got there an hour before closing time so there wasn't as many people, which made the experience so much better. After this redeeming experience, I will definitely be coming back ! I 10/10 recommend this place :)“
“We decided to give this location another try and we were blown away by all of the delicious meals they prepared. The shrimp pad see ew was flavored to perfection. The crab fried right was just right and the spicey fried rice was balanced with the right amount of heat. You can always request the kitchen to turn up or turn down the spice level according to your taste buds. Try the lychee martini, you will thank me later. The service was five-star from the moment we walked in. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our waitress made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. The restaurant is small and intimate, perfect for a local date night. We had a great time guys, thank you and we will see you guys again soon.“
“Slurpin Ramen Bar delivers a true ramen delight with its deliciously spicy ramen that will be sure to tantalize anyone’s taste buds. The garlic edamame is an absolute treat, leaving you licking your fingers for more! The hospitality from the hosts and waitstaff is exceptional, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. I'll definitely be returning! And for those seeking a satisfying vegetarian option, the veggie ramen is both filling and incredibly tasty. Highly recommended for ramen enthusiasts and food lovers alike!“
“DAMN! The best killer noodles! The noodles can go as hot as you want, from a scale of 1 through 6. My limit is 3 but I'm more comfortable with a level 2. Even at 2, I'm sweating. Every now and then, when I'm in a mood to torture myself with amazing spices, I go here. Try it, you will understand!“
“A nice, family owned Thai restaurant with good prices and massive portions. This is a great place to go if you’re waiting for your appointment at SDI across the street. I had the pad thai without egg to make it vegan and they happily accommodated. Will come back again.“
“A family favorite and one of LA Chinatown's legacy businesses, Amay's Bakery and Noodle continues to feed my fix! Noodles are made fresh daily, the almond cookies are the bomb, and restaurants that guard their reputations will only carry Amay's!! The storefront isn't much to look at, in fact, without the address, you'll probably walk right past it, but the goods are the real deal! I needed almond cookies, individually wrapped. Where else can I get a 10 lb. box without a problem? Check it out!“
“Ugh!!! My favorite!! We ALWAYS get Pork Dumplings and Chicken Noodle Soup (they have a spicy version too), maybe Dumpling Soup. All of those are FIRE. We've had the pan fried dumpling as well, those are yummy too. They come w a little sauce. Bulgogi is solid, pancake is good. We get those when we take someone new & they dont know what to order. Cant go wrong here.Parking: Parking used to be free or $1 down the street. Its now in the lot accross the street. There's metered parking in front, of your luckyKid-friendliness: Smaller bowls of noodle for little kids. Plastic forks, spoons if you need them.“
“Marugame Udon has always been the go-to for anyone near Sawtelle especially UCLA students. I mean this place is fantastic: the food is exceptional, basically no wait time, the food is cheap, and the service is amazing. This is definitely a top 5 of all time for me and would HIGHLY recommend anyone to visit when in the area. The line usually gets very long on Saturday and Friday nights but it moves fairly quickly.“
“The food is delicious!! They have both burmese food and hot pot / dry pot hot. I tried the burmese food and dry hot pot and it was excellent! The restaurant is a passion project of the owner and it really shows, he just wants people to be able to have delicious burmese food, and he is proud of his heritage. all around awesome!“
“Our family loved our meal!! Favorite dishes included the kung pao chicken, crispy orange chicken, dan dan noodles, and the wonton soup. We ended our meal with the buns dipped in sweetened condensed milk sauce which was a kid favorite! It was expensive but well worth the speedy and hospitable service, quality and amount of food our whole family enjoyed.“
