“Our waitress was excellent, as was the food.I had chicken Piccata, which was delish & my husband had seafood, which he enjoyed immensely.We sat in the bar area, so it was a little noisy & quite busy.Overall, we enjoyed the meal & will definitely go back again.“

Hands down the best yellow coconut curry i’ve ever had, the spice is definitely there but they manage to keep that amazing flavor. The miso charred edamame was absolutely phenomenal, 10/10. Not to mention the menu is so reasonably priced for the very big portions you get. The entrees are all big enough for 2. “I kind of stumbled over this restaurant and I'm so glad I did !!! I have been here approx 4 times and every time the meal has been delicious, from the very friendly waitstaff. Every time I have been here we have ordered the hot antipasto which included two baked stuffed shrimp, two stuffed mushrooms, and two clams casino, along with the appetizer came a warm basket of homemade bread with butter. We had the New England Clam chowder and it was perfect I had a veal dish with mushrooms and prosciutto over noodles. Perfect did I say fresh mushrooms my brother had the zuppe di pesce, which he totally enjoyed. He got it without the calamari and another basket of warm bread. If you're looking for delicious Italian food with a very friendly waitstaff this is the place to go. I almost didn't write this review as I don't want to see the place over crowded lol but it's well deserved. We were there last night and will be back again. Very cute place inside“

“Amazing! The atmosphere, service (waitstaff and bar), and food were all outstanding. The drinks were delicious as well. The complimentary biscotti were fantastic. The dessert list makes it very hard to choose, but we had the olive oil cake and it didn't disappoint... loved it!! The restaurant and hotel had a great vibe overall. Can't wait to return!“

“I can't believe I had never visited Sugar before, but better late than never! My mom requested to go for her birthday, and this bakery is a literal cupcake heaven! The staff was super nice and let us take our time to look through the cases and decide what we were going to pick out for our dozen. So many festive cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day and Easter that we loved! We've totally fallen in love with this bakery and they're by far some of the best cupcakes in CT. “A true high-end omakase in a humble space under the parking lots of downtown New Haven. Who would've thunk it?! $105 for 3 small places, 10 pieces sushi, a handroll, miso soup, castella (not tamago), and black sesame ice cream. The preparation was creative, though sometimes a little contrived. Scallops, excellent with smoked sea salt. Fish (forget which) with a spicy tomato salsa, interesting! Tempura maitaki, cool! Probably didn't need truffle salt... Closing with o-toro, awesome! It didn't really need Osetra caviar or gold leaf... Fish quality is commesurate with price. Once inside, it feels like an oasis. Reservations are recommended.“

“We love this place and go every few weeks. But I do NOT recommend it for valentine's day. The hostess is a harriden enforcing rules and ensuring everyone knows if you were too stupid to make a reservation. The servers are clearly the B team or the junior varsity. You are limited to a 30 percent marked up valentine's day menu and no pizza is served in the dining room. It is all enforced by the harridan and the regular head waitress is off. The carryout meals were normal, but who wants their steak dying while they eat their salad. I came for my birthday for steak pizza Iowa. I had to settle for a half sized blue filet mignon that was still cold in the center with a mustard sauce with no mustard, mixed vegies that were mostly nasty carrots, and a really good baked potato that was cold by the time my steak was warmed up. You guys are awesome. Stick to your real menu, and stop marking things up 30% for holidays. It wasn't just valentine's day, it was a regular customer's birthday, you screwed it up. I'm passed.“

“I chose Soga because they had Toro on their menu. It was only available in a roll. That roll, while still delicious, did not satisfy my craving for toro or really deliver the same experience. They lost one star for the tempura. I prefer mine thinner sliced with a lighter coating. This was thick and heavily battered. Overall, the sashimi collection was decent and fresh.Will go again“

“We had a wonderful time on Thanksgiving. Something went very wrong with our original restaurant reservation. Shell & Bones were able to accommodate a table of six last minute. Great service fabulous food all with a view. Highly recommend.“

“Best Pizza place near Quinnipiac. The crust was perfect and the ingredients were high quality. My cousin can't have gluten but they had a gluten free and cauliflower crust base that he said was the best gluten free pizza he ever had. “Easily accessible and in walking distance of the New Haven green. Got brussels sprouts and a large pizza. The brussels sprouts were cut and fried in a unique way I had never seen before but it was quite delicious. The pizza was also quite good although a little too much garlic for my tastes (and i love garlic)“

“Lovely vineyard with an excellent selection of wine. Enjoyed the wine tasting they have. I’ve been quite a few times and enjoyed it each time. It’s gorgeous when the sun is setting too. You feel like you are in the most serene, peaceful environment. The ambience is everything. My friends and I brought some cheese, crackers, grapes and with their wine, it was both perfect and memorable. “Service is variable. Last time I went to Barcelona in NH I arrived a little after my friend who just stepped off the train. I guess she thought the olive oil plate was for her olive pits, and since bread didn’t land on the table before her food got there when our bread finally arrived the server just poured oil onto the olive oil plate with the pits in it and told us to dip around the pits instead of replacing the olive oil plate. We actually thought it was very silly and funny but if we weren’t so close it would not be aceptable. Other than that weird interaction the drinks were good the food was good and the main server was attentive and pleasant. I worked through grad school at the west Hartford restaurant and will be having my bridal shower at the Fairfield location so I’m rooting for a little more attention to detail to become a priority again!“

“What a great spot for ramen in New Haven! We’ve always heard great things about Menya-Gumi and weren’t disappointed. You can tell everything is made fresh in-house, especially with the gyoza, because it was packed full of pork! We really enjoyed the shoyu chintan ramen, and I thought the egg sando was like a perfect combo between scrambled eggs and grilled cheese. The karaage don bowl was tasty too, and it was nice that they had boba tea and cocktails here too. Friendly staff and all of the food came out quickly, and the restaurant was very clean.“
