“Delicious food! Especially nice on a cold day. I appreciated that there was even a vegetarian item on the menu (a huge potato pancake with mushroom gravy), which was delicious. We also shared some sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese pierogies, which were also great. Also great was the mulled wine. They serve a lovely sourdough bread with an interesting spiced spread, but heads up to vegetarians -- the spread is bacon-based. But again, excellent bread. (As you can see, deliciousness was the theme.) The exterior of the restaurant is a little unassuming but the interior is like a cheerful cabin. Would definitely recommend.Vegetarian options: Babcia's pancake, which is a potato pancake with mushroom gravy, served with 3 types of cold salad. There are also meatless pierogies: sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese (ask to be served without bacon garnish). There are also some salads on the menu which are vegetarian. I don't believe any of these dishes are vegan, though at least one of the salads could probably be made vegan if the cheese was left off.“
“When visiting a friend locally, they suggested we try the best ice cream around, and that sounded like a great challenge. There are many options for sitting outside in a park area, or on the balcony, or inside. When I opened the door and saw both the size of the menu and the many choices of ice cream I was overwhelmed. Staff is very friendly and offer help. I was able to taste 2 different kinds and look forward to next time I am in the area or have a strong craving for ice cream. The food was amazing, I did not receive a single complaint from my very picky family members, they all agreed it was amazing. The guest enjoyed the beer and we even did a growler with a beer of choice as one of diapers raffle gifts and it was the most popular one! “Unfortunately, the evening did not start off well. We were told that we had to wait for our reservation for atleast 10-15 min after our original time, even though we showed up early. Then after waiting, we were told another 15 min. Noticed that they seated other groups that were walk ins so I guess they were given priority. We had two young children who were starving so we decided to leave and just as we did, the manager came running after us and asked us to stay. They turned around a table and even through a pizza in the oven for the kids, no charge. The food was good, not great. Felt a little rushed as it was now kind of late for dinner and they were getting ready to close. Wouldn't mind giving them another try but will likely favor other restaurants over this one.“
“This place is truly a hidden gem. We were recommended to check this spot out by a local bartender, and we are so glad we did! The ambiance was really chill and non pretentious. Our mixologist, David, was super personable and well versed in his craft. He’s bringing experience from cocktail programs in the city to the burbs! It was a cute little spot that gave speakeasy vibes. We initially thought we were underdressed, but this place wasn’t booshie at all, and there was no judgement like some places. “Not the first time I’ve been to this restaurant, but first time for dinner as I usually join coworkers for lunch. Kind of a different experience as far as entrée sizes and prices. For lunch I feel it’s a moderately good deal but for dinner I was a little surprised at the portion size compared to the price, we did enjoy all of our dishes but having a hard time with the value. The charred cauliflower appetizer was tasty but small portion for over $12. The lasagna Bolognese made with a chicken sausage was equivalent of two large raviolis stacked on top of each other. For $20 I would expect a bigger portion. Overall a higher rating due to the ambience of the restaurant and service was good.“
“I work around the corner from here and found it by chance. I will say I will be back. I called to find out where they were located and Cindy explained exactly how to find her place. My coworker and I went to go check out the restaurant and Cindy and a gentleman greeted us as we walked in. Even asked if we had just called. This to me is how you treat your customers. As my coworker and I waited for our breakfast burritos the smell of the restaurant was amazing. “This has become our favorite place to eat out. The food is so flavorful and different from a regular sandwich shop. Also, we are able to bring our dog with us and get him his own doggy meal. They don’t have the dog meals on the menu but they are available. They really should put a sign on the counter or a wall about them. Everything is served in a dog bowl which fits with the theme of the place. They have a wide variety of foods to choose from. I am currently trying to eat my way through the whole menu! The atmosphere is like a park. Some of the tables have swings to sit on. There is a little “grassy” area with giant Jenga and giant Connect Four games to keep the kids entertained. I love the huge wall mural which shows lots of cute dogs picnicking in a park. The staff is very nice and helpful. My whole family, including the dogs, love eating here!Parking: It is located in an open air mall so there is plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: Swing seats available at some tables. I had the largest fried Shrimp ever and they were amazing.We went for the fantastic Shindig 60's band, the top local band in the Chicago area. They were outstanding, as usual.The band stage was WAY too small but worked. It needs to be reconfigured to a larger size and the lighting needs to be adjusted because taking pictures didn't work.My suggestions :1. Remove the tv's since you're really not a good venue as a sports bar. Add more tables under the tv's.2. Expand the band area and include an area for dancing. Too many people were dancing around the tables.5 separate dining areas. Lots of seating.I rated 5stars because it was an exceptional situation with St. Patrick's Day, the staff was overwhelmed with the crowds but were amazing under the circumstances.03/16/24 was St. Paddy day celebration.We had a reservation 1 month in advance. Thank goodness. But we still waited 30 minutes for our table because the wait staff wouldn't get the previous people to leave our table. This needs to be adjusted.Parking: Free parking but on an occasion, like St Patrick's day, get there early.“
“I had been wanting to go to Kurimu since it's opening by the UIC campus. I had heard good things about it, and the kind of soft serve ice cream they serve reminded me of Japanese soft serve I had in Hong Kong and Singapore. After multiple openings, including the one in Schaumburg, I still didn't check it out until December 2023. My main reason to not go the Schaumburg (by the virtue of being closer to me) location was the price point. Their menu is good, but the items are on the pricey side. Upon reading a handful of reviews, the general consensus I got from them was that although it is pricey shop, the quality and taste of their offerings are definitely worth it to at least experience it once. On my visit, I ordered a scoop of Thai Ice Tea ice cream, a Strawberry Matcha Latte, and a Dalgona Coffee Milk Tea. The shop was inviting and clean. The menu options were laid out well, and the staff member working at that time was friendly and very helpful. You can place your order through a kiosk or give it to the staff member at the cash register. I took my deciding what I wanted as it was my first time at Kurimu. While I was there, the shop got busy, which is good, and therefore, ordering through the kiosk came in handy. The staff member was pretty fast. I didn't have to wait long to get my order. Also, the ice cream I ordered was not enough in stock, so the staff member informed me that they would give me another complimentary scoop of ice cream of the flavor of my choice. I also wanted to get soft-serve, but the flavors at the time were not of my interest. They rotate their soft-serve flavors every month, I was told. I liked what I had a lot. The Thai Ice Tea ice cream was so creamy and flavorful. Its flavor was very pronounced. The complimentary scoop I chose was that of Melon ice cream flavor, and it was delicious, as well. I also loved the Dalgona Coffee Milk Tea. I had not had it before.Kurimu was definitely a hit in my book. I liked everything I tried. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but it's well worth a visit as what is offered is of high quality and taste and is not just run of the mill stuff. Sure, I can not afford to go here as often as I would like to but a few visits here, and there would be a good way to check out the different offerings of Kurimu.“
“It's a small but cozy pub. We've been here several times for dinner. We've driven by this place often and not sure why we never went in. We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly. Troy has made us some great cocktails. I recommend Coffee Shop After Hours with mezcal (or vodka), cold brew and cocoa bean. The Rye Old Fashioned is really good. The Bloody Mary (only served during Sunday brunch) is outrageous with that slider on top! They have a decent beer selection also. The prime rib special is delicious and perfectly cooked. Rocco burger is good too. We enjoy coming here place. You will need to be mindful of the hours because they're not typical.“

“I went to this place with my family. The burgers were great and the fries were good too. The burgers are easy to bite into and have a good size. The service was great because all toppings were free and extra straws were provided. The ambiance of the place works well because they play nice music outside and it has an older feel to it even though you order outside the place and eat outside because they do not have an eating area. Though the food was a little bit expensive, it's definitely a good place to go to every so often.“
