“After growing up within the Latino community, eating authentic Mexican dishes, and learning how to cook within that community, I'm pretty particular about the Mexican food establishments I give my hard-earned cash to, because I know what good Mexican food is and it is often not what you get...Cinco Hermanos gets my money happily!As such, I often have certain requests that may not be on a menu, but I know are doable, based on my knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Not only do they happily receive my request during my phone order, the request is always executed correctly and to my liking.My husband doesn't like certain things in his burrito, and when ordering from other places, those things were either in there, or replaced with other "fillers." He orders the same exact thing every time, so he has often been disappointed...and his requests are easy like no lettuce and no rice inside the burrito...no biggie, right? The first time we ordered the way my hubby likes his burrito, from Cinco Hermanos, not only did they get the order right, they added some extra meat in the burrito as the "filler." That's customer service and attention to detail right there!I love that their tacos ARE NOT GREASY!! We love tacos al pastor, but they are often bathing in grease, which is actually just laziness on the cook's part...I know, because I make them at home, often. I usually don't like to order carryout tacos as a result, because they arrive home soggy and greasy...NOT the experience I've had at Cinco Hermanos! The tortillas rarely have any extra grease on them and the meat is the same. Any tacos I've ever ordered from them arrive home intact, non-soggy, and as delicious as if they were just prepared in my own kitchen!I also really enjoy their green salsa...it tastes like homemade. You can tell that they used fresh ingredients and that it was made in smaller batches. It's hard to explain, but trust me when I say it is one of the best green salsas I've ever had, including some homemade authentic versions. It's a little warmer than most, so be prepared for that, but it is crave-able!If you're looking for a stellar caldo de res, this is the place! Not only did it taste like the thousands of caldo's I've enjoyed in Mexican kitchens over my lifetime, it was served the way you'd be served in said kitchen...plenty of meat and veggies in that delicious broth! My typical experience ordering caldo to-go, is a container with a lot of broth, one or two small pieces of meat, one small carrot, more cabbage than anything, and half a potato...not even enough meat to make a decent taco to eat with the broth. I ordered this one weekend I was sick, and let me tell you, it hit ALL the right spots! Rich broth with an abundance of meat and veggies...exactly the way it would be served in my home kitchen. I was floored when I opened the container and saw it, and then more pleasantly surprised when I tasted it...perfection! Just know that it's only available on weekends and totally worth the wait! Oh, and one of my requests, LOTS of limes, was absolutely fulfilled, happily. Hats off to this place for great customer service!I've not had one thing on the menu that has displeased me, nor has my husband. Not one.Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I have certain requests when I order carryout, not excessive by any means, just certain things we prefer, like only green salsa and no plastic utensils necessary. At other places we've ordered, 8 out of 10 times, there's a bunch of red salsa in the bag - along with the green - and a bunch of plastic forks that end up in our garbage can. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from Cinco Hermanos, the instructions are followed to a T, which tells me that they're good business people and not throwing their money in our garbage can. “I ranked it a 5 because of the combination of inexpensive and tasty food. They have a pretty good loyalty program, so make sure you join it. The app is pretty easy to use. I always order ahead on the app, then pick it up in the restaurant and don't have to wait. Lastly, always check your food. They make a lot of mistakes. My wife and I go here a lot.Vegetarian options: They offer tofu and it's pretty good because of the sauces that they use.Parking: It's in a strip mall so basically they never fill up in their parking lot.Kid-friendliness: It's a loud atmosphere, so it's kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: It's not very wheelchair accessible unless you have someone bring the food out to your car, which they do as part of their regular operation.“

“I got the Classic Philly- and it was outstanding! It literally just melts in your mouth, cheesy bite of deliciousness. I also got the cheese fries which were also phenomenal and definitely can tell made out of REAL potatoes versus a frozen bag of fries.I’m not even mad I got it all over my work clothes eating in the car because I have a 30 minute lunch break. My only disappointment was I called twice and no one answered the phone and went to voicemail.I don’t know why this establishment didn’t have more people in (maybe because it is Sunday) because this is the BEST sandwich I’ve had in the Lake County area! “The service here was excellent, and the food was beyond my expectations!! I got a Denver omelet and some raspberry cream cheese crepes. Wow, they were so good! It was a busy place on a Saturday morning, but we got seated after only a five minute wait. I would definitely go back again.“

“I've tried a lot of things on the menu, and I enjoy everything there. You can pick your sauce for all the near items, but I think the spice and flavor are prevalent without the sauce. The sauce is just a bonus, in my opinion. You can't go wrong with the food or dessert at this restaurant.“

There wasn't any signage to show where to order or how to order. Even the kiosk to order online was facing perpendicular to the entrance where it appeared to be an employee only kiosk. An order here sign above the clerks station would be helpful for new clients.The front entrance also has signs that read "no exit" but from the dining room there didn't appear to be any other exit. No exit signs to lead to an alternative exit. So how do you leave? This may be a safety concern too.After talking to the employee, she mentioned that they didn't want people using the front door as an exit because of the steps and people tripping could be a risk. So why not install a handrail in the vestibule and maybe a ramp? That way people won't trip and the entrance is a little safer.Plus an exit sign above the hallway to the rear exit would make sense too.Parking: Free street parking is available on Cedar Lake Rd.“

“Had a gyros, some jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and brownie. The gyros were good but meat a little over cooked. Liked the onion rings because they were whole onions. Jalapeño poppers were cream cheese filled good but nothing special. Overall, a nice place would go back. I want to try Italian Beef next.“

“Really enjoy this restaurant, particularly their patio! I’ve actually never bothered dining inside. Love taking our dog out to dinner — it’s like her special occasion restaurant. Plenty of menu variety, even the pup meal includes a choice of chicken or burger, white or brown rice. My favorite dish is the Tex Mex salad. The outdoor atmosphere has great vibes… big fire pit in the middle, side ‘walls’ that roll down in the inclement weather, tvs showing the best sporting events.“

“Mr. Submarine is so much better than some of the other competitors out there. Specifically that one team with the green and yellow colors. Their bread is second best to my favorite red and black team, and the service is a little more helpful. I have heard that other locations can vary in quality, but when my local Polish deli has closed, I come here for a decent sandwich. The employees are always patient with you and make sure you're comfortable with your decision on toppings before they actually place them on your sandwich. I definitely feel like their vegetables are fresh, and the meat is tasty, but not top quality. Again, I am comparing a chain to Euro-style sandwiches. I'm not expecting top tier, but I am definitely happy with the sandwich I get, which is always the Mr. Sub. This location is hidden in a Mobil gas station, which I would have never found had I not searched for places to eat in Fox Lake. I barely know the area, having moved here from Chicago. “I love Jimano's in Vernon Hills for their thin crust pizza and traditional chicken wings. It's a neighborhood carry-out only establishment that offers a good variety of American-Italian food. Their menu pricing is pretty reasonable, and they have deals online on their website. You can order through their website as well. Jimano's thin crust pizza has a good ratio of cheese and sauce. The sauce has a good flavor, which is a plus for me. They put a good amount of cheese on their thin crust. Their wings are tasty, and they make their wings crispy and saucy upon your request. In all my and my wife's visits, we have received good service. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also send coupons that have good deals. I definitely recommend checking out Jimano's in Vernon Hills.“

“Great deals and great brews are on the grill at Hello Folks. Be sure to don your VR gear and locate the hrósa hot spots for an out of this world gaming experience. And here at Hello Folks they offer something called "lof" Ice. "lof" Ice is imported from Iceland and goes great in any soda pop or cocktail. Patrons often order just the ice just to gaze deeply into the cubes to witness anthropomorphic apparitions of praise and tribute for our Veterans. “Went for lunch to this location with a good friend around 3PM 1/27/24. Placed orders for delivery to table around 2:56PM. When friend and I didn’t get our orders for ~20 min while others that placed orders with cashiers after we arrived received their orders before us, we asked employee to check on our orders, your runner on duty did a fantastic job of addressing our concerns and getting us our food to tables 25 and 26. “First time at a new church today and I was invited to lunch by the pastor and several other people. It seems McAlister's is one of their go to places. It is a nice looking place with counter ordering and table service. They are apparently known for their sweet tea, which I passed on as I prefer unsweetened tea and not diabetes in a cup. The unsweetened tea was really good though. I had a spicy southwest chicken sandwich and a fruit cup side. It was a good choice as the sandwich was pretty tasty though nothing too special. It was good enough that I will gladly go back with this group from my new church it won't necessarily seek it out on my own as I tend to prefer locally owned smaller places. Still good though.“
