“Willa Jean was one of the top suggested places by friends when visiting New Orleans. Running out of time, I went for a quick pastry since there's a to-go bakery counter near the large dining room. Ordering a blueberry muffin, they warmed it up for me. It was large and really good. It filled me for several hours!“
“My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Morning Call Coffee Stand in New Orleans, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly made beignets and café au lait. The service was lightning-fast, and despite being a cash-only establishment, we were in and out in no time. The staff members were not only efficient but also had a great sense of humor, adding a playful touch to our morning routine. As for the food, it was simply divine. The beignets were light, fluffy, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar, while the café au lait was rich and creamy, the perfect complement to the sweet treats.Overall, Morning Call Coffee Stand provided us with a memorable breakfast experience that perfectly encapsulated the charm and flavor of New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit.“
“Best beignets ever! You also can't go wrong with their other delicious desserts. This was recommended by locals and now I see why. We are always bringing some home everytime. Light and flaky, not thick. The Rampart location has more selection, but you can grab your favorites in the French Market“
“This place is a Hidden GEM❣Fun place Perfect! Perfect food! I was torn between the French toast and the shrimp and grits...but they offer smaller portions as sides; perfect! The owner is a superb artist and it shows inside and out! This is me, Zora the cook and Daisy (the magical flying pig :-)“
“This is one of the best lunch cafes I have ever been to! I am a vegetarian and sandwich options are always so limited anywhere else. So many options I had a hard time deciding. Even if you’re not vegetarian you should check this place out!!“
“We stopped in here on our search for some authentic gelato. We tried a few different flavors such as the stracciatella, amarena cherry, cookies black, and hazelnut. The stracciatella was a little heavy on the chocolate but it was still super smooth and tasted great. The amarena cherry and cookies black were probably my two favorite gelatos as they were very well balanced! It's nice and quaint inside and there is some additional seating outdoors too.“
“This was one of the best breakfast places I ate at while I stayed in New Orleans. i cant say enoigh positive things about this restaurant. The food was out of this world and the staff and service was 100/100 stars. Thank you so much for an fantastic food experience ❤️ ---- Lisa and Abby from Ontario, Canada“
“Chill atmosphere, great architecture concept and intimate seating arrangement. GREAT FOOD!!! The Beignets were so good ..light crunchy outside , soft & fluffy inside almost melting in your mouth ? , so yummy??.. the Breakfast Sandwich with the croissant was absolutely delicious! Top it all off with a Mimosa ?? The pecan pie was equally delicious!“
“Went here all 3 mornings I was in town and this is such a great place. They are so friendly and the food and drinks are very good. I had the salmon egg cup, almond croissant, blueberry crumble croissant and the peach crumble croissant - and they were all great! So glad I found this spot!“
“I don’t take my 11 month old out to eat often but they made it soo easy for us. They were quick in getting his food to us and even though I offered, they wouldn’t let us clean up after him. The buser even came over to interact with our kiddo. It was a really nice experience and made taking him out very enjoyable.“
“Employees are very nice and friendly! I got the breakfast sandwich and it was a little spicy but definitely had a nice kick to it! My boyfriend also loved the food he got. A cool place to check out if you’re in the area. Super cute and fun. All the games are free to play. Also it’s in the middle of the city so parking space is pretty much nonexistent so be aware. Overall a great place!“
“The restaurant is a hidden gem. The breakfast and amotsphere are amazing. The wait staff; Cherrybomb, Diesel and Unicorn make you feel at home and have excellent energy. We stumbled upon the restaurant and plan to return before ending our trip!“
“I really like this place, one of my favorites in town. The service is absolutely fantastic, the teas are great, unfortunately today the key lime pie was not as great as always, the whip cream felt fake (from a can) not fresh and that was disappointing :c I still give them 5 of 5 because we really like the place and hopefully they keep the original quality of the key lime pie“
“According to the hostess, this was originally an old rectory that they renovated and turned into a charming, warm and inviting space with kitschy seating. Upon entering, there is a dining space similar to a front room that leads into a livingroom complete with a fireplace. If you walk down the hallway, there is a curtained dining nook as well as an indoor patio and a lively bar area. They also have a super cute outdoor, open air dining space with plenty of seats. The house made focaccia was very delicious and a must! The oysters were good as they were from the east coast. We really enjoyed the roasted gulf shrimp, but we were not told that the heads would be on nor is it written in the description on the menu; so be prepared. Our main dishes consisted of the chicken under a brick and the daily fish of halibut. Both dishes were delicious! They only have two options for dessert and our chocolate tart did not look like the photo on their website but it was still good. The lavender semifreddo was fire! I couldn't stop eating it!Our waitress did a good job but there were a few things overlooked, like not being cognizant of empty water glasses, letting dishes pile up and not changing out our silverware and plates, however, she was in training, so we didn't say anything. This is definitely a neighborhood gem and not to be missed.“
“Amazing Event Cakes — We had a formal event this weekend for which Bywater provided our cakes. The chocolate peanut butter was to die for. The other cake was not what we ordered but we loved it just the same. If you need a cake for any occasion, we highly recommend Bywater Bakery.“
“Ironic. We went late in the afternoon, walked right in, and sat down. Other times, we've seen a pretty massive line. The service was extremely fast and friendly. The food was good. Just wear clothes you don't mind getting powdered sugar on. It is inevitable you'll get it on your clothes. As a tourist, it was fun to visit and check off our list. I don't think we'd regularly go back.“
“My best friend and I spent a week in NOLA and we popped into this Cafe randomly for coffee the day we arrived. We've been back every morning since for coffee, tea and breakfast. The baristas are the most amazing and personable crew I've ever met and their drinks AND food are amazing. I would absolutely recommend this above any of the main "tourist" stops. Look for Heidi, Kate or Samuel behind the bar and Orlando in the kitchen. So hard to leave because they feel like family!“
“The food was good and nicely presented. It is cute and quaint. Orders are olaced at the counter, you seat yourself and they find you. I did find it odd I had to ask for syrup. Once I did, a condiment organizer was brought to my table complete with salt and pepper. The dogs with the man sitting at the next table were brought water and then some treats, without saying a word. The patrins were pleasant and conversational, the staff at the cafe were "matter of fact".“
“We took the ferry to get to Congregation and it was a nice walk. I have been wanting to come back here because they have yummy pastries and this vanilla tahini latte that's incredible. They also used to make Mister Mao chai mix and I really want a bag of it haha We grabbed yogurt parfait, quiche, ham and cheese tang a blueberry muffin.“
“It was delightful to sit out on the patio and listen to the live jazz band.At first, our server wouldn’t seat us outside as a party of 6 and we almost had to leave but after some convincing, he sat us out there. The food was decent for the price. I’d come here again for the ambience“
“What a great little bakery and coffee shop! A small slshop but it's whimsical and clean. A small selection that is done very well. The prices I found to be reasonable too. Got the brioche buns and the olive bread. Both were delicious The pastries looked tempting. I will be ba“
“Small local run cafe with a great menu , we both ordered omelettes , with choice of so many fillings , with a side included along with toast. Great taste , great value ..and I also had a cappuccino which was brilliant ( can’t stand filtered coffee ) , Great service by Victoria too , thank you all“
“Service was friendly professional and prompt. while food was exceptional, the presentationFor the chicken and waffles was subpar at best. It looked like my 16 year old prepared it. The waffleWas crispy and light though. The ambience was very crowded with minimal spaceFrom the neighboring tables. Would return for the gumbo“
“A decent stop for anyone in the garden district! We had the fancy beignet flight (raspberry, smores, and cannoli). They are pretty good! I think if you aren’t familiar with southern food already, it would be worth a stop. If you are, and you’re looking for something more “knock your socks off,” this might not be the spot.“
“WE LOVE UNDERGROWTH COFFEE!They have the best breakfast burritos from California to Louisiana .I am a burrito connoisseur. I have a Hispanic background and I spend way too much money on eating out and have travelled the world.Originally from Southern California and work for a Texas based company, I have had plenty of burritos and none compare to the perfect combination of rosemary potatoes, smoky flavored bacon, savory eggs, sharp white cheddar all wrapped in an herb tortilla. Seriously, I have ordered $100 worth of these burritos at a time so that I can have them multiple days in a row. My girlfriend and I love them and the staff there is wonderful and always accommodating.CZ“
“Baby's is a VIBE. Open late? Check. Good music? Check. Coffee, quietness, tea, food, allll the things! Came here to read and vibe around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and vibe was immaculate to do so. My partner and I really enjoyed the space + definitely plan on coming back here and adding to my nola fav coffee spots. I wish Baby's much success. Truly.“
“I recently went to Another Broken Egg for the first time and Jenny was our server. She was amazing and really made my first visit special. She took her time with us, never making us feel rushed, and had some great suggestions from the menu. Everything she recommended turned out to be delicious, and it's safe to say she knows her stuff.Jenny's service went above and beyond, making our meal not just about great food, but a really enjoyable experience. It's because of her that I'll definitely be coming back to the restaurant. It's clear she's a great asset to the Another Broken Egg team, and anyone who gets to have Jenny as their server is in for a treat.“
“Hivolt Coffee in New Orleans stands out as not just a coffee shop, but a staple in the local café scene, offering a delightful array of options that cater to the health-conscious without sacrificing taste or portion size. It has quickly become one of my favorite destinations for coffee and more in the city, thanks to its consistently high-quality offerings and welcoming atmosphere. The Oozy Breakfast paired with a latte is my go-to choice, a combination so satisfying that it leaves little desire to explore other options. The dishes here are not only incredibly tasty but are also generous in serving size, ensuring that you leave feeling fully satisfied. The latte, smooth and perfectly balanced, complements any meal choice wonderfully and showcases Hivolt's expertise in coffee making. One of the most commendable aspects of Hivolt is the demeanor of its staff. Every visit is met with kindness and patience, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience. Their approachability and efficiency make each interaction pleasant, from ordering to enjoying your meal and drink. The ambiance of Hivolt is further elevated by its selection of music, which enhances the relaxed and friendly environment. This, combined with the café's ample seating and decently fast WiFi, makes it an ideal spot for those looking to work remotely or simply enjoy a leisurely coffee break. The space is designed thoughtfully, allowing for both productivity and relaxation. In conclusion, Hivolt Coffee offers an exceptional experience for coffee lovers and health food enthusiasts alike. Its blend of delicious, healthy options, excellent coffee, friendly staff, and a conducive environment for work or leisure makes it a must-visit location in New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Hivolt promises a welcoming space where quality and satisfaction are guaranteed.“
“I’ve starting eating here at least once every time I go to NOLA, and that is saying something. There certainly is a lot of competition. This unassuming gem is nestled in a great neighborhood on a great, quiet sreet to stroll. That alone makes it great for a getaway from the craziness. The food is as good or better than I have had in NYC Ethiopian restaurants, but a much better value. Service is small but terrific. For dessert, eat their baklava or head for the famous snowball stand outside.“
“came here for the first time and staff was so sweet! it’s such a nice atmosphere, feels like a small haven for the local community and the drinks and food were amazing! also, they had initially messed up my drink order. i didnt say anything because i wasnt peeved at all but they came up afterwards, apologized and made me the drink again. 100% recommend if you’re looking for a lil positivity in your day.“
“Feels like a neighborhood cafe or coffee shop and may get overlooked but it has the best food of any that we had in New Orleans the last few days. Red beans and rice was superb. Tasso sandwich was new to me and delicious-lots of different flavors on thick grilled bread. And the crawfish mashed potatoes were fantastic. I saw Chef Dwayne (?) making it and he offered a taste. Oh my. Service was warm and personable. Highly recommend.“
“The Gazebo Cafe and its ice cream daiquiris have been at French Market ever since I can remember. There is something comforting to return to NOLA and seeing that the Gazebo Cafe is still there. The ice cream daiquiris are Hubby and I's favorite. We grab a drink, take a seat, and enjoy the live music. This is New Orleans.“
“My favorite neighborhood coffee spot. The coffee and pastries are fantastic! Great spot to get some work done or read a book. On weekends, a lot of tour groups meet here so it can be a bit crowded at times but they typically leave fairly quickly and free up seats.“
“We were looking for breakfast place and did not notice that this spot is vegetarian when we got there. When I saw the menu I was kind of disappointed, but when I tried their food, ohh god, this is the best bread I had in years. Food, service, everything, so even if you are afraid of places without meat like me, don't be, because they do have some delicious stuff everyone would like.“
“Good biscuit, delicious French Toast, and sweet fresh fruit. Was looking forward to coming back, but I was told they will only serve pastries, SMH. Its NOLA, we love to eat good cooked food, create an environment and experience for all types of customers.“
“This little cafe that is attached to the LA Children’s Museum is a great spot for a quick bite or snack or a full lunch. They have a good menu of sandwiches and salads. Their pastry counter is my favorite though, can’t leave without a homemade pop tart or a delicious cinnamon roll ?“
“If you walk just a little past the park, you'll find this wonderful coffee house with excellent sandwiches. I got a gigantic turkey croissant sandwich with extra meat for about $11 (even without extra meat, it would have been enough at $8).I would recommend trying this place out.“
“This is such a special place! Best coffee and absolute best from-scratch pastries in the Garden District. Plus, the staff are amazing, and there is no better place for people watching, as it is a hub for both locals and out of towners. Really lovely place. Be sure to check out the adjacent book shop when you visit. There is a full program of events between the two, and always something interesting going on.“
“Some say the day starts when the sun rises, but any masters of life know time doesn't begin until you've stepped into Satsuma Cafe. Forget the fart (& whatever else) that freely flowed out of you in the early AM. No need to remember the muscle you pathetically pulled failing to reach the snooze button shortly after. Nothing before Satsuma matters. (And nothing after.) Married? Now you're single. A parent? There was never a child. Employed? Step directly to the cash register to completely omit any & all responsibilities. Who needs a paycheck, family or a life when the cuisine & vibes are this spectacular? Without Satsuma you are nothing. Make something of yourself - nay - make something EXTRAORDINARY of yourself & come support a cafe that will revolutionize the very core of your DNA. I had the lavendar lemonade and brunch hash. Was good. 5 stars.“
“This is a great neighborhood spot for breakfast & lunch. My dad feels that it's only breakfast if there are grits on the plate, and this is a place he approves for breakfast. The price and service are spot-on and the biscuits are a must.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely kid-friendly.“
“I remember Leni's Cafe when I went to school across the street and up the block back in 1968 when I graduated. L.E. Rabouin was the vocational high school back then. Would have lunch there for our senior year. Mike, Howard and myself. Place brings back good memories. Gonna try and come back there for old times sake. But sadly Mike and Howard are no longer with us. Had great food then and appears to have continued that tradition. Never had the poker machines back then.“
“Today with my daughter for the first time I visited this restaurant in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products that are produced in this restaurant by the owner himself and many other workers to prepare to go orders. The quality of the food is Supreme, and the prices are extremely affordable, I could even say cheap.“
“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. There’s even a couple of open windows where you can just stand and look out and feel the breeze while you’re waiting for your food. I wish that I lived closer so that I could go there every day.“
“Not a coffee drinker so can’t comment on that but love this place for beignets. They are made to order so always fresh and warm. The minis are perfect for a little treat to share and service is friendly and welcoming. They also serve other items. Hard to get a food pic that looks appetizing but these beignets are really tasty.“
“This is the type of place you stumble upon out of happen stance and are so pleasantly surprised by. We walked in on a pretty slow Monday night, and the staff was immediately so welcoming and sweet. We were sat and served right away and treated with patience with our large order (complicated by a seafood allergy too!). Our server was attentive to us and to details but not at all overbearing and even recommended a dessert for us to try from their bakery side of the businessOur group had decided our favorites were the dragon shrimp dumplings, onion beef triangle dumplings, the Szechuan pork dumpling soup and the soup dumplings, however, none of us had anything we didn’t think was delicious, fresh and comforting, and believe me we ordered plenty! They deserve to be busy all day everyday for the quality of food they serve! We will definitely be revisiting this location when we come back to visit NOLA again!Dietary restrictions: We had a member who is highly allergic to seafood and they did wonderfully to accommodate her allergy!“
“This is by far my favorite snow ball stand. The owner, Andres, always gives the warmest welcomes and we share a mutual admiration of classic cars. He’s actually from Havana, where he and his family ran a classic car sight seeing business. I always enjoy our chats and he really pours some soul into his snowballs and coffee’s. Really love the color and patina on his beautiful 55’ Chevy too. It’s one of my favorite classic cars. The flag pole is a MUST DO if you get the chance to visit New Orleans. It sits on a peaceful spot of the beautiful Esplanade Ave. You can sip your coffee or enjoy a snowball all while taking in the atmosphere and admiring his beautiful automotive sculpture from 1955.“
“First time in NOLA, had to hit up Cafe Du Monde for their beignets! It was packed around 5, but the wait was only like 20 mins (way better than I thought). Once we had a table, the service was lightning-fast, and our order was on the table in 10 minutes. Definitely a must-try!“
“I had the eggplant cake, soft shell crab over linguini and baklava. All of the food was phenomenal and it was hands down the best eggplant dish I've had in my life. The restaurant is also very comfortable with a beautiful, peaceful, cozy atmosphere.Ashley was also an amazing host, making sure I had everything I needed and even going out of her way to make virgin drinks for me.“
“As some with multiple, severe food restrictions, Lamara was a wonderful surprise. Almost everything is gluten-free, and I had numerous dairy free and mammal free options as well.Vegetarian options: So many options! Try the Spring Roll bowl!Dietary restrictions: I am gluten-free and have alpha-gal. Earing out is always challenging and often disappointing. It was wonderful to have so many options.Kid-friendliness: Open space, bright and airy.Wheelchair accessibility: Wide open spaces and hallways.“
“Super place for breakfast. We loved everything we ordered. We had bread pudding pancakes and they were very special and not overly sweet. Poached eggs with pork and shrimps were amazing, as well as shrimp and grits. The service was fast and servers friendly and helpful“
