“I stopped here on the way home from New Orleans, only 2 miles off I-10, so not really out of the way. We have a long drive, so I selected a steamed char sui bun, Pate Chaud, meat pie, Crawfish pie, coconut macaroons, mochi, and a pineapple bar. Omg, the Crawfish pie! It had so much filling, Crawfish, bamboo shoots, scallions, and seasonings I'm not sure of, but it was very spicy and delicious! I'm trying to find a recipe for it in my Vietnamese cooking group, because Google turned up nothing. The Pate Chaud was delicious too, but not as much filling as I wanted. The coconut macaroons were amazing, and surprisingly made without sweetened condensed milk, but you would never know that except for the ingredient list. The pineapple bar was not too sweet, as it looked, perfect for me. The mochi were delicious, with the all familiar chew. Have two more pies to sample, but I have no doubt they will be delicious too!“
“Willa Jean was one of the top suggested places by friends when visiting New Orleans. Running out of time, I went for a quick pastry since there's a to-go bakery counter near the large dining room. Ordering a blueberry muffin, they warmed it up for me. It was large and really good. It filled me for several hours!“
“Best beignets ever! You also can't go wrong with their other delicious desserts. This was recommended by locals and now I see why. We are always bringing some home everytime. Light and flaky, not thick. The Rampart location has more selection, but you can grab your favorites in the French Market“
“This is one of the best lunch cafes I have ever been to! I am a vegetarian and sandwich options are always so limited anywhere else. So many options I had a hard time deciding. Even if you’re not vegetarian you should check this place out!!“
“I stopped in this morning for a little treat for me my girls at Voodoo Harley-Davidson, I got the chocolate knot, Boudain Boy and the shroom boom and let me just tell you, Y'all put the happy in the "Happy Dance"!!!! Everything was delicious!!! We love you Ayu!!!“
“Amazing Event Cakes — We had a formal event this weekend for which Bywater provided our cakes. The chocolate peanut butter was to die for. The other cake was not what we ordered but we loved it just the same. If you need a cake for any occasion, we highly recommend Bywater Bakery.“
“Best beignets ever! You also can't go wrong with their other delicious desserts. This was recommended by locals and now I see why. We are always bringing some home everytime. Light and flaky, not thick. The Rampart location has more selection, but you can grab your favorites in the French Market“
“What a great little bakery and coffee shop! A small slshop but it's whimsical and clean. A small selection that is done very well. The prices I found to be reasonable too. Got the brioche buns and the olive bread. Both were delicious The pastries looked tempting. I will be ba“
“Great beer and wonderful baked pretzels! The best, though, is the outdoor beer garden atmosphere. It is just so nice to come here. There is a group that gets together on Thursdays at 6:30pm to meet and speak in German. Very welcoming of all levels of German speaking!“
“Wow. That is my immediate take away. I just devoured the best savory scone I have ever tasted. It was so incredible that after I finished it I wanted to call them to tell them. I stopped in for my first time this morning after reading about Levee and living close by. Service, staff, and atmosphere were fantastic but that scone .... Just Wow.“
“Always appreciate the "Welcome to Pontilly Coffee" and the food is great. I had a frappee that they did for me on request with chocolate and soy milk it was delicious.I'm French and can tell the croissant with chocolate is not the best, to dry to my taste. But still 5 stars well deserved !“
“Very good French sweet shops! We went two times and had vallina, chocolate, mango gelato . And had one chocolate eclair and one macaroon. The quality was so good and definitely have to try it!And also want to share they offer very nice and very clean bathroom here, the waitress was very friendly.“
“Hivolt Coffee in New Orleans stands out as not just a coffee shop, but a staple in the local café scene, offering a delightful array of options that cater to the health-conscious without sacrificing taste or portion size. It has quickly become one of my favorite destinations for coffee and more in the city, thanks to its consistently high-quality offerings and welcoming atmosphere. The Oozy Breakfast paired with a latte is my go-to choice, a combination so satisfying that it leaves little desire to explore other options. The dishes here are not only incredibly tasty but are also generous in serving size, ensuring that you leave feeling fully satisfied. The latte, smooth and perfectly balanced, complements any meal choice wonderfully and showcases Hivolt's expertise in coffee making. One of the most commendable aspects of Hivolt is the demeanor of its staff. Every visit is met with kindness and patience, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience. Their approachability and efficiency make each interaction pleasant, from ordering to enjoying your meal and drink. The ambiance of Hivolt is further elevated by its selection of music, which enhances the relaxed and friendly environment. This, combined with the café's ample seating and decently fast WiFi, makes it an ideal spot for those looking to work remotely or simply enjoy a leisurely coffee break. The space is designed thoughtfully, allowing for both productivity and relaxation. In conclusion, Hivolt Coffee offers an exceptional experience for coffee lovers and health food enthusiasts alike. Its blend of delicious, healthy options, excellent coffee, friendly staff, and a conducive environment for work or leisure makes it a must-visit location in New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Hivolt promises a welcoming space where quality and satisfaction are guaranteed.“
“Absolutely a great, delicious, and quick! Food was one of kind. MUST try atleast once... Our first time here and we will be back tomorrow morning! The team member behind the counter was friendly and personable.Vegetarian options: Egg and cheese options.“
“I love this coffee shop! A little pricey, but the coffee is great and so is the food. My go-to is the BLT and whipped espresso drink. The backyard/courtyard is super nice on a sunny day. Wheelchair accessible. There were tampons in the restroom, my ram in the bush today ??“
“Fancy but not bougie! Everything is delicious tho I wish the fig date cheese loaf had all those goodies running through it not just on top. Flavor and bread quality was exceptional tho!! Space was welcoming and staff were friendly and helpful! We devoured the baguette, croque monsieur was delicious and I LOVED the freshly squeezed orange juice!! Great touch!! I’ll be back!“
“We were looking for breakfast place and did not notice that this spot is vegetarian when we got there. When I saw the menu I was kind of disappointed, but when I tried their food, ohh god, this is the best bread I had in years. Food, service, everything, so even if you are afraid of places without meat like me, don't be, because they do have some delicious stuff everyone would like.“
“This shop is delightful! The pies are stellar, from sweet to savory. We visited from KC and stayed across the street, were able to visit a few times. The hand pies are insanely good, unlike anything we have at home, unfortunately! We bought several mini-pies to take to a family dinner and all were a huge hit. The owners are great. Thank you!“
“Y'all. This is THE place. Out of all the spots we tried while in New Orleans, this was by far the best and our favorite! I loved their grits and what they had to offer dessert-wise. I tell any of my friends who are visiting NOLA that they will always find a tourist restaurant around any corner, but they'll only need to find this place once to know they struck gold. My only regret was not coming back a second time before we flew out!“
“Best bakery in town.Tried several things from here. Staff were friendly and service was great. They are true bakers here.Apple butter biscuit tasted good, having moist fluffiness and good chew and a crunch to its too. It hold the slightest sweetness and would pair well to make biscuit sandwiches.Party bread, tasty bread with a solid bite to it, could pair well with olive oil or be made into a carrier for meats and cheeses, good call for a party.croissant was Rich and crunchy with the perfect amount of bite to it. The pecan center was well balanced and not overly sugary but rich like the met of the bread, smartly made, these folks can bake. I think the savory croissants must be something with their style of bread and I will have to try next time. Nice music playing and has a small patio area in the back.“
“I'm not a donut fan myself but I was immediately confronted with a wide arrangement of donuts to select from and not a single one in my dozen was bad. They all had different flavor profiles and served their theme, I was pleasantly surprised at how innovative a donut shop could be! The server couldn't have been more helpful truly great service!“
“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Haydel’s Bake Shop on Magazine St in New Orleans, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The King Cakes, a New Orleans staple, were nothing short of phenomenal. The perfect blend of flavors and the richness of the cake made it a true delight. What surprised me even more was the coffee. In a city renowned for its coffee culture with places like Cafe du Monde and Cafe Beignet, Haydel’s managed to outshine them. The coffee was robust and flavorful, complementing the sweetness of the King Cake impeccably.Service at Haydel’s was another highlight. The staff was not only friendly but also went above and beyond to make the visit enjoyable. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to assist made the overall experience memorable. If you're in New Orleans and craving an outstanding King Cake paired with exceptional coffee, Haydel’s Bake Shop on Magazine St is a must-visit. It has undoubtedly secured its place as a top contender in the city's vibrant culinary scene.“
“The donuts from here are outstanding. I was in New Orleans for a training class, and our host brought donuts from here one morning. He told us a little about the owners/bakers and how important this shop is to the community. I only got to try a glazed donut, but it was on my short list of the best I have ever had.“
“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. There’s even a couple of open windows where you can just stand and look out and feel the breeze while you’re waiting for your food. I wish that I lived closer so that I could go there every day.“
“This place is absolutely amazing!! We got several empanadas to try. Such a cool find. The staff was friendly and it had a cool New Orleans vibe but different. You can sit and enjoy the views of magazine street and the spinach and artichoke empanadas will make you lick the plate. Hands down awesome“
“I bought their guava and cheese king cake this week, it was delicious! I liked that it was NOT drowning in icing. Just the right amount to add sweetness without going overboard. I think guava was also an excellent choice for a filling. I would definitely recommend. I also picked up a couple of empanadas, they were also very tasty. I am interested in trying some of their other baked goods.“
“We were travelling from DFW for a surprise birthday bash. I called 6 or 7 bakerys in the area and Haydel's was the only one to accomodate. Not only were the very kind but she took my vision to another level. The cake was amazingly moist and light, not to mention beautiful. Thank you all! We were more than pleased!“
“Fav breakfast place without a doubt. All the staff are 5 star humans and I like them more than any other places around! And the food is always amazing. I regularly get the Tuscan bagel and it’s so delicious.Couldn’t recommend laurel street bakery enough! They will take little things you like (such as a bit extra toasted or just egg whites) and implement them without the slightest sign of annoyance like I’ve experienced in some other spots. If you haven’t been here def come try them out!“
“We just came back from France again and I was complaining how much better everything is over there. Standards down here in nola are extremely low so when I go somewhere I don’t expect anything special in regards to customer service “you won’t get a hello or thank you most the time”, and the food isn’t nearly as good as people think it is. Nor is it priced accordingly for the quality. I find everything pretty meh down here for the price. However, with all the negativity there are a few positives. Bellegarde and their euro sandwich. Currently sitting at 6.50 it’s a normal deal considering in France they were around 5 euro. Bellegarde’s baguette is one of the best also in the city. I rank it up there with breads on oaks in terms of crust, quality and taste.“
“Coffee is really good. All food is made fresh and in-house. Really unique flavors and options! Delicious lunch options with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Plenty of seating and even offers covered outdoor seating. Definitely recommend!“
“This was the first time I’ve been to a wedding and actually seen every last crumb of the cake eaten!I had an all vegan wedding with a ton of non vegan guests and they could not believe how amazing our vegan wedding cake was. Not only was it the talk of the party both in taste and looks, but the entire process was so easy! Lisa was a miracle worker, an all star communicator, such a calm positive energy. I could not have been happier!Thank you so much for making the perfect day even more perfect!“
“I stopped by Mr. B's Bakery and purchased 3 dozen glazed beignets for my coworkers and I. Some of them have never had a glazed beignet before until now, and needless to say, they absolutely loved them. Hot, fresh, and a beignet. Their beignets are a 10 out of 10. Service - 8 out of a 10Ambiance - 5 out of 10. Please don't think that this is a fancy spot because it is not. I normally go in, order what I need to order, then leave. Yes, they sell breakfast plates and breakfast sandwiches as well. Grab a plate of liver and grits while you're there.“
“The pastries were delicious.I visited New Orleans for three days and started every morning with a freshly made sweet roll and cup of invigorating coffee. The owner and staff were so bright and friendly. Loved the set up and really enjoyed the outside space! Try the satsuma bars too! They’re heavenly! And there is a cute little bookshelf for the kids to check out too! And dog friendly!!“
“this place was recommended by a friend...it did not disappoint....the food was tasty altho they ran out of the croissant I wanted to taste...yet my spinach quiche was delish!!!..the interior needs an upgrade yet that may be the charm of the place..rate a 3 for the interior...4 for the food and service and attention...keep up the good work people!!Wheelchair accessibility: my mom drove her scooter into the place“
“Friendly, great environment and food was fabulous. We had brunch, with delicious mimosas made from freshly squeezed orange juice. Melt in your mouth pancakes, awesome breakfast sandwich, baked goods were top notch (that coarse sea salt- really next level). I suggest you get there early, but the wait moves quickly.“
“Celebrated a friend's birthday in town and opted for the classic local cake.Pros:- Seamless online ordering, responsive phone service for changing pickup times - Very friendly staff- The birthday girl and the group enjoyed the cake, though I found it a bit too sweet for my taste.- The 6" half lemon/half chocolate definitely serves more than 6-8 people Cons:Not my preferred type of cake, but still glad I gave it a try“
“If you're lucky enough to have ever visited this place then you know why I say that you are lucky. Where else can you find good Texas toast for a dollar and just about any other product in there also is for a dollar? In addition to the ridiculously cheap wholesale prices the staff is amazing and friendly. Like the Dos Equis beer man was say I don't always eat bread but when I do I get it from here.“
“visited the covington location. staff was friendly as could be food was really good restaurant was extremely clean and food was moderately priced. Job well done folks. Hats off to Gustavo , Cedricka.L and the entire staff. We will be returning to this location soon.“
“Luxe is my new fancy snack spot. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL: the food was AMAZING; the snowball ice was soft as butter, and the customer service was welcoming. I take my food seriously, and I seriously recommend this place for quick dates, girlfriend check-ins, and family experiences. Even been twice, and I intend to go again soon.“
“We came across Bread Fo Tha Soul at the local farmers market on Thursdays by Parkway. He was offering samples and that was so fantastic! We tasted the sweet potato bread which I will buy next time, as well as, the olive rosemary and the tomato basil... each cost $13 but we got them and are eating our hearts out! First off... we made a tomato basil bread grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup!!! Just do it! And then we did it again the next night... so yeah... one loaf has made 6 thick sliced sandwiches (12 slices) and we have enough left for 2 more smaller sized. Totally worth it... if I'm paying a higher price then it's gotta be worth it and it is... so now I gotta find the best sandwich for the olive rosemary... maybe something with lamb.... But I'm thinking of doing a fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes with balsamic drizzle and more olive oil. And I may cut some up and make some croutons for a salad. But grilling it with some butter was the first thing I did and it was delish!“
“They make a great king cake. It has a traditional feel, but fresher and better than most traditional spots. The dough reminded me of a Hawaiian roll and the cream cheese was sweet. It was delicate and basic and perfect. It is more expensive than I want it to be, but I could say that about every business on Magazine street. I got the cream cheese and almost everyone at my party asked me to text them the name of the bakery.“
“I recently just moved to the neighborhood so I was really delighted that I would get the opportunity to visit this wonderful place they have such delicious food. However what I do not like is that they have horrible service and the attitude of the staff is lackluster that it is very confusing when you walk in there as far as directions. That aside they tend to miss plate items simple as meat and bacon I have to keeping me waiting seems that I was number 16 and they call 17 18 19 20 then I became a little concerned they hastily put together my plate where the items did not match my order it was no due diligence in checking the tickets to make sure that the items match with the person actually paid for as if there’s no kitchen manager or it’s just a free-for-all back there seems I’ve worked in the kitchen previous places I can spot the weakness maybe they need a staff that’s more enthusiastic about working at such a fine establishment and if they can appreciate that maybe that whole family dynamic atmosphere that they try to create something that’s really a hindrance to the business model and with overall discourage people who want to return and spend their heart on money so that they can keep this black on establishment on and Poppin but as you can see this is why people say black on establishment suck and black on businesses suck and they don’t give you a type of business and respect that you deserve because Black people suck but as another black person I’m not able to say that because that means that I suck so what a predicament this put me in oh my gosh and bring back the turkey Bacon please.“
“Great place. Great food. Great idea. This company has three corners of the block covered; let's go for 4... Way to go. Who knew this place was here... Well not me!!! But now... Hello!!! Great place for freshly prepared food. The have a barrage of items to please any palette. The menu is so vast, I'll have to visit several times to taste everything. The smell of the food radiating from the kitchen is divine!!! And the taste matches the smell. Friendlier staff. Quick order processing. Street parking is the order for the day; so get in where you fit in.“
“They Got Vegan Poor boys!!!Parkway Bakery is a true gem for poor boys enthusiasts. Their wide selection, steeped in tradition and history, offers a nostalgic and delicious experience. What sets them apart is their exceptional customer service.Justin went above and beyond to cater to my vegan needs, crafting a mouthwatering Beyond Meat and portabella poor boy on a separate clean grill. It's a rare find to encounter such dedication to accommodating dietary preferences.Highly recommend for both traditional and vegan diners alike!A must-try for anyone looking to venture off the tourist beaten path in New Orleans. Located in a historic mid city neighborhood, it offers an authentic taste of the city with its iconic poor boys.Whether you're a local or a visitor, Parkway Bakery promises a delicious and memorable dining experience that's worth seeking out.Vegetarian options: On the menu: beyond meat poorboyOff the menu: Portabella with onions and red peppers poorboyDietary restrictions: At my request they fired up a seperate unused clean grill to make my vegan orders.“
