“Found this gem of a restaurant on our vacation in New Orleans. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent. The staff was very attentive to the timing of food delivery to allow for a good conversions and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend!“

“My husband and I went on Friday night for dinner. Could not wait to try the new menu and it was simply awesome. To start with, our sever team was Isaac and Cheyanne and they were great. We never waited for anything. The Hot Crab Claws and Foie Gras Torte for appetizers were divine. I ordered the Duck Cassoulet and my husband had the visiting fish, Sea Bass over Yakamein. While the fish was excellent, the Duck ruled the table. Thanks to the Servers and Kitchen for a wonderful meal. We'll be back.“

“I just love this place. Been many times on multiple trips. Bartenders are always so engaging and very much about keeping you company and telling you about their drinks and oysters. On this trip, a bartender with pig tails and a cap made my time so special by telling me the back story on the gin and the oysters. Fun, smiley, knowledgeable, and just welcoming. This will always be a stop for me on my New Orleans trips. And happy hour on Mon-Thu 3-6pm has great prices and fun stuff.“

The gumbo and coleslaw were both very flavorful. And the fried fish dinner was also fantastic. Is the service was anywhere near the quality of the food I would recommend 100%.“

“The staff at Lula were wonderful! Went to look at the accommodations for a rehearsal dinner. The staff showed us the Barrel Room and explained the setup for the amount of guest expected. They are very accommodating for your needs. Lunch was delicious! Shrimp and grits and Fried pickled mirlitons with a poblano dipping sauce were a hit. Our server, Jalen was the best! Definitely a place to visit in NOLA.“

“We had a party of 13. Our waiter, Ty, was amazing! Ordered the Crawfish Papusas for appetizers. Delish. Main dishes: Gumbo and Coconut Snapper and Waffles. Gumbo was bland per husband, who is a connoisseur and from Lousiana. The Coconut Snapper is served on tartar sauce which overwhelmed the taste of the fish for me. Still, it was tasty. The cornbread waffles with the crayfish sauce that came with the Snapper were amazing!!! I had the bottomless pineapple Mimosa cuz we went at Brunch...also very good. Staff was pleasant. Restaurant has a good vibe. Also mentioned that everything is fresh to order...no microwave in the kitchen. That's a plus cuz I can use a microwave at home. Missed taking pics cuz I was in the moment.“

“We were looking for a seafood place to eat and we found the perfect place ! The food was delicious 😋 and the staff was super nice . Family owned and the place is very comfortable. They have tv's great tables to eat at too. We are from Texas and we will definitely come back next time. Thanks !!!
Oh and the meat pies were great ! I also got a PO BOY Sandwich

***Update I noticed we were charged $21.44 gratuity fee and it was just 4 of us and we ordered at the register. That explains why our bil came out to $140. I didn't think it was right of them to just add convenience fees like that.“

“I enjoyed a delicious seafood gumbo, without rice, and a refreshing green apple Big Shot. The gumbo was flavorful, hot, and pleasantly mild. This unassuming restaurant is certainly worth a return visit, given the generous portion size and reasonable price. Fifteen dollars plus tax for enough gumbo for two people is quite a bargain.“

“A charming little gem of a place with lots of history, Casamento's is a true old-school Louisiana seafood joint. We visited on opening day at the start of oyster season, and I couldn't have been happier with my meal. I had oysters 3 ways - raw, chargrilled, and fried, and everything was very fresh and tasty. The two daughters that are servers are super sweet, and very understanding of celiac disease/ the need to eat GF. Dedicated fryer is a big plus.

“I love the honesty, I asked about there crawfish, and he told me that there were pre frozen crawfish, and they still tastes amazing.The fried chicken is off the chain.I live in slidell, and I make it my business once or twice a week to go and get my chicken plate my crawfish, and my pineapple big shot.“

“The food was great and restaurant was really nice. They definitely want to get you in and out. They have the 1 1/2 hour limit posted in their site and the service, while friendly, definitely felt rushed. I was asked if we would be okay to physically move our table to make room for a larger party that was coming. The move they requested would have put the table higher on an incline than it already was and closer to the already uncomfortable distance from the workers moving large carts in and out to set up for a larger party party on the other patio. No thanks. Won't be back.“

“Ate here multiple times during our stay at the attached Royal Sonesta Hotel. Always excellent service and delicious food. The majority of the staff are grown ups who know how to provide above average service. Had breakfast and brunch. The kids they had at the front door check-in were usually sub-par but we still loved the place. Robert was the fav!“

“This place needs a parking lot or get the street assigned parking or SOMETHING. The line was almost out the door so I knew it had to be good when I walked in. They were out of stock of half the menu. I got beef and shrimp yakiamein with a side of potatoes. Total of $28. Me personally this was enough food for leftovers; I added a pack of beef ramen and enjoyed the yakaimein flavor ! Theres chairs to sit but it gets too crowded with people waiting so I ate in my car.

“The friendliest crew you will ever meet! Yesterday my husband had the BLT and I had the steak and eggs. Omggggg yall. Hands down the best food we have ever eaten. Period. Today we both got the Ruby special! The burger was juicy and thicc just like Ruby lol. We live 5 hours away but will be returning just to eat there again. Also for my southerners….yes the sweet tea is worth getting!!“

“I started to call this place a "best kept secret", but I'm not sure how much of a secret it can be with 2 or 3 customers inside this small store seemingly at ALL TIMES. An employee at nearby OPSB told me their gumbo was great - I went once and now I go back almost every time I'm on the west bank. it's an unassuming small shop that sells eveything from seafood (whole crab, crawfish, fish plates, etc) to random cash register fodder. Dont be distracted though- get the gumbo.“

“Pigeon and Whale was incredible. We live on the West Coast and are spoiled with amazing seafood but we were blown away by every dish. The whole atmosphere is vibrant and feels like a treat for all the senses. Our server (I think it was James?) was delightful and expertly guided us through our order. A HUGE shout out to the bar staff for concocting and offering complex and unique non-alcoholic cocktails. This was such a welcome departure from the lazy treacle that most restaurants pour. We had a great date night and this is a real standout in a city full of spectacular restaurants.“

“What an experience!
We met with some friends for the Omakase menu and it was well worth the cost. With this, you get 12 or 15 different sashimi options. Each were so delectable and tasted Ike the best quality. They presented about 3 of the 12 at a time so you were not overloaded with a big platter. Highly recommend if you like the raw type. Our server was fantastic and knew every single item that was placed on the table. Cocktails were so good as well and I recommend their off menu rum drink. Decor inside is cozy and modern but very inviting. Don’t sleep on the apps as well and you MUST get the Brussels! We will be back very soon!

P.S. catch happy hour for specials on Brussels and you better get the crispy rice trio!“
