There are many good options although we often go back to same ones because they are so good - Montaditos, Buey al Jerez, patatas bravas, esparragos, chuleta, veiras, to name just a few. “Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

Tacos and enchiladas are tasty and won’t disappoint you at any level.I’ve personally been here six times, and unfortunately the last one was not the best. Chips seasoning was not correctly achieved and tortillas in some tacos were cold. But a bad day can happen to anyone, other than that the other five times were a real Mexican dining experience without a doubt.Staff are very attentive, offering recommendations if needed. And price here is very affordable. For a party of two, I recommend ordering 3-4 plates to share (quesadillas, tacos, main) and a dessert. Cafe de olla and chocolate maracuyá are extraordinary.Lastly, margaritas here are made with passion, and the perfect touch. After she pulled it up she said none of my party was there even though everyone but me was there. Went here for dinner last night and everything was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken, fried catfish, lambs, crab cakes and sides of Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collards, potato salad, and corn bread were all superb. It definitely tasted like eating at your grandmothers. The potato salad was just like my Gma’s; finely diced with celery, celery seed, and a slight tang of mustard accompanied by a slight sweetness. The collards are vegan hence no meat but were still delicious, tender, and flavorful. The drinks were delicious as well. The portion sizes were quite large with everyone having leftovers except for the lamb chops they were so delicious that my friend ate all of them. “The hubby and I came here on Sunday, 3/24/2024, when we arrived the restaurant was basically empty, so we were sat right away and asked where we wanted to sit. Our server brought over water right away and soon after we ordered a California roll (me) and the hubby got one unagi sushi for a dollar (a special). The California roll was fresh, well rolled and really delicious, my husband said the same for the unagi. My husband also got the chicken thigh yakatori for three bucks, it was brought out hot, tender and delicious. For our entrees, we both got Tonkotsu, we added an extra egg and shared it, so we would each have one full egg in our ramen instead of just a half. The Tonkotsu was fire, the broth was hot and buttery, egg perfectly cooked and yolky, the pork was tender and flavorful and overall just great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. One final note, service was great and friendly!“

Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“

We were coming to D.C. to visit our daughter in March and wanted to surprise her for her 30th birthday with a small party at the Cathedral Heights location. In the past, she had spoken very highly of this place, so we told her we would just take her out to dinner there. Not being local, I had to email back and forth many times with Tiana G. who is one of their event planners. Just through the emails I could feel her friendliness and excitement about helping us surprise our daughter that night. Thank you Tiana, for taking care of every detail and for your excellent and timely communication with me (thanks also to DeDee who stepped in to cover for Tiana at one point)! We decided on the $50 pp package which included a great selection of family style tapas, entrees, and desserts which they also customized to accommodate the birthday girl and a few guests who had some dietary restrictions. The food was AMAZING, we all raved about it! Alcohol is not included in any of their packages, but we ordered 4 pitchers of their sangria which was plenty for 8 of us. Our server Samantha was the best! Very friendly and attentive throughout the 3 hours we were there. “Dinner here on our last night in the DC area and it was delicious! You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes, we are a family of 6 so tried several but the gnocchi and penne pollo were excellent! The pizza was also a hit. Even if you’re stuffed, try a dessert. Again, we loved them all. The tiramisu, cannolis, chocolate cake, and cherry gelato were the perfect ending to our meal.
