“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! After calling to place a carry out order I was advised they don’t accept them. I then asked if they would accept an order if I paid in advance over the phone. Again, I was told that I need to come in and place an order at the bar. This is inconvenient. I had to wait about 20 minutes. Management should reconsider this policy.”

The space is gorgeous, with an open, modern feel and big windows that make it perfect for both daytime and evening dining. The atmosphere is lively and stylish. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, I tried the crab cakes and everythingbagel wings for the apps and the lumen burger with truffle fries which was cooked beautifully with full of flavor and the presentation and taste was excellent! Drinks were really good for the occasion.. If you're looking for a stylish spot downtown with good food and a great vibe, Lumen is worth a visit.”

I got a turkey burger and naga dog and my husband got a chicken tikka over rice. 10/10 for EACH DISH. This is now my go to spot now for Detroit. The menu has everything from nachos to breakfast. The staff is very friendly and know their menu well. The restaurant is very clean and you can tell they take pride in their business.

“After reading several reviews, it left me hesitant about going to Iridescene, however I'm glad that I did not let that deter me. Everything we ordered, from the wine and dine menu was delicious. The chicken breast was tender enough to cut with a fork. And the mashed potatoes were very tasty and well seasoned. I would recommend this place.”

“My sister and I made reservations for Friday evening. We had an amazing time! Brittany was our server and she was absolutely the best! She had plenty of recommendations for us and helped us choose our drinks with ease. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, salmon deviled eggs, and chicken wraps. We both agreed the deviled eggs were the best thing. We had a perfect spot in the corner on the terrace where we could look down and see the Circle. The only issue with that was the view.. multiple people came over To stand to look or take pictures which was sort of awkward. There was a dj and the atmosphere both outside and in was spectacular . You will spend a pretty penny but I would definitely recommend checking them out.”

One of the first things I noticed about Detroit after moving here from California is that Coney Island restaurants are everywhere. “My friend and I had lunch at Coriander Kitchen and Farm yesterday 6/23. We came back because we enjoyed our first visit last year so much! However, at this visit the food was not so good. I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.”

We tried the espresso and an herbal tea (chamomile and lavender) — both were delicious and thoughtfully prepared. They also serve decaf coffee espresso.

Outside, there’s a small garden with beautiful trees and flowers where the birds come to sing, making the scenary from the window even more delightful.

Inside, the presence of green plants adds even more charm — making the space feel warmer, more vibrant, and inviting.

The space is filled with natural light, has high ceilings, and features modern, visually pleasing decor.

It feels fresh, airy, and energetically clean — truly an inspiring place to be.

“Oh MAN Rocco's is the place I have searched for in vain until last year when I tried them for the first time. Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Try them if you have yet to do so. You will thank the gods!”

The banquet items were outstanding and the chef did a marvelous job of preparation and presentation. Passed appetizers were a hit with everyone. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, friendly, and fun, making it the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. I waited like 15+ mins in the rain to order. I walked inside half way through the wait to look for someone, never found anyone. Went back outside & waited with 4 more people & no one ever came so after 15+ mins, I went upstairs to the store & asked for help. The girl working found the cook (who also takes the orders) & just happened to be on lunch. I wouldn't have minded waiting if there would've been a little 30 min break sign up or something. Honestly it seemed like he either hated his job or he's definitely overworked & maybe the only employee besides the girl upstairs Even though customer service was not good, the food was amazing & I'll definitely eat there again next time I'm in town.”

“A little hole in the wall spot located in a gas station but, the food is really good. I stopped in and got the steak burrito and it was cooked to perfection. The portion are really big so you get your money's worth. The burrito and ingredients tasted great. Definitely a great spot. I will be coming back.”
