“I’ve heard about Anju through some people that I follow on social media. They have only posted amazing picture and said great things about this place and I can confirm they’re on point with what they say. Charlotte needs a restaurant like Anju, bringing diversity, something new and executing delicious food and welcoming service! I treated myself to a solo dinner and it was exactly what I needed. David, my bartender, guided me through the menu with both food and beverages. We made great conversation and it was just a great experience overall. Anyone who enjoys good food and something new should definitely take the opportunity to come here!“

This place is it!! Everything was perfect! And the owner came around and spoke and checked on everyone and was so nice! Amazing, authentic food and family owned! Seriously seriously so good!“

Hi-Wire Brewing Charlotte Brewery • $
340 W Tremont Ave Suite 140, Charlotte

“Hi Wire is a great place for a wide variety of FREE games. Ping pong, air hockey, soccer pool, connect 4. I always love a space with gender neutral bathrooms and wheel chair accessibility. The beer selection and calendar of events is very robust as well.An area of improvement is using gender neutral pronouns for the patrons. I noticed rainbow flags all over the space but I was misgendered by the bar tender which didn’t feel affirming. I gave the space 4 stars because I recommend using they pronouns if you don’t know how someone identifies.“

HopFly Brewing Company Bar • $$
1327 S Mint St, Charlotte

“Amazing drinks, first tasted one of their Blender series at a local bottle shop and could not stop talking about it. Found out this was not too far from me and took my best friend with me. I tried a few beers, the food truck sadly was closed when we went but they were very accommodating with us getting outside food. Seems they have some events that happen regularly, including a cycling group. The bartender was informative and had no problems answering specific questions. Even let me know which beers were vegan for me to take some home to my wife. Amazing selections.“

I luckily went on a day it was warmer, so I already knew I wanted to sit outside.I order the Cheesy-Toastie, Crispy Potatoes, and House Spritz. The spritz was so refreshing and smooth! I loved every second of it and recommended it to the woman next to me. My cheesy toastie was perfectly toasted, and this cheese perfectly melted. Every bite melted in my mouth. Garlic and Dill Dip

“We stopped in on a quiet Wednesday evening. There was one other couple sitting at the bar, so we sat just down from them. The bar tender was kind and attentive, making our drinks and chatting with us. I enjoyed my mule, and there were several beers on tap, too. They have a food menu with some snacks, though we didn't try any this time. There were old movies and video games playing on the TVs. The space was decorated nicely to feel like you were stepping into a new alcove/world. There's parking nearby and it's close to the Scaleybark stop (no drinking and driving!). I hope this place gets more foot traffic on busier days! It's a bit hard to see as it's in the middle of the shopping plaza. As LoSo grows, I think it'll become a nice destination.“

“Well above my expectations! I was actually on my way to another Brazilian steakhouse and then this popped up on my Marriott bonvoy app. The concept same kind of cool with a Brazilian style sports bar so I decided to check it out. The plate that I had was really good and they have 34 Oz size beers available. Very lively when I walked in as there was a band playing which I found surprising for that time of day as it was only about 5:00 p.m. they were towards the end of their set so they had to have gotten there earlier. Guy behind the bar did take care of me but seem to be preoccupied with other things going on. Wasn't a big deal but I did have to wait a little to pay my tab and order my food. It was worth the wait though and is somewhere I will be back again!“

(Be careful with portions since a friend ordered a calzone and it could have fed 3 people - they definitely should cut the portions). Will back for sure (and just order an appetizer since that was a perfect meal portion).Oh and and music bingo was so fun :)“

“Temple is a fantastic spot to go out for drinks on the weekends or after work with pals. The location is a bar; they do not provide food but there are several restaurants in the neighborhood, and you are more than welcome to bring own food inside the establishment. This is a concept I am truly starting to take a liking too - especially with food trucks.
