“We had plans to eat at Ellen’s Stardust Diner before watching Wicked, but the line was down the block…in the rain. We found this place very close by and were super happy we did. Its a 3minute walk to the Gershwin Theater. The food came out so fast. The portions were huge and my whole family loved their food. The sweet potato fries were the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.“

The fries were hot but with lots of fry nuggets (underachieving bits smaller than my little finger). The onion rings were perfect as were the sandwiches. There were a good amount of other people in the diner, so getting a seat quickly was nice. Service wasn't anything special, but I don't really mind.The atmosphere of the diner is great, a very retro feel like it just came out of the early to mid 1900s. It was a cozy vibe. We got the 21 shrimp, breakfast burger, french toast, and some fish that was a special- sorry for forgetting the name. Really liked my breakfast burger and my sister's french toast. The shrimp was pretty basic though, and I think the fish could've been seasoned a bit better (it still tasted good!).Overall a pretty good place to drop into if you're looking for an affordable bite with a nice vibe.“

Quite the contrary, the quality of food is very good, the portions are of good size and the prices are reasonable. There are artisan hot sauces on each table and counter, the syrup is maple syrup only but with cool flavors like Madagascar vanilla, cinnamon, habanero and others. I got the hot cup of coffee which is a classic. We ordered the following dishes to share: Jackson House Breakfast and the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries! Both of these dishes were perfect and I had no bad remarks! Jackson House Breakfast, we got scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, home fries, challah french toast, and toast with butter on the side. Everything on this plate was so delicious especially the challah french toast - this was my favorite part! The challah french toast was so fluffy and flavorful in the middle and probably my favorite french toast ever! The breakfast sausage was very unique, it's the fat sausages. It has a nice crisp on the outside and meaty inside. Bacon Cheeseburger, this was a delicious burger! The burger patty had nice grilled marks on it and I loved the charred flavor.
