Paper Dosa 551 West Cordova Road, Santa Fe Indian • $$

“This place is ridiculously DELIGHTFUL. The character of the restaurant, the decor, the staff... it's just a perfect little gem. If you get a chance, try to eat on the patio. I've had Indian food through the years and always like trying new things, but I'd never had a doja or experienced this tradition of food. Of course, I had to try the paper dosa... I mean, if they're gonna name the place after the dish, hit me with your best shot! I have never seen anything like that on a plate, which immediately made me giggle when the server brought it! But, the taste was not funny. It was absolutely delicious. I'm reminded by the H. Jackson Brown quote, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do." This is one of those places you'll be disappointed to miss.”

Joseph's Culinary Pub 428 Agua Fria Street, Santa Fe New American • $$$

“This is a mixed review. Jospeh is a formidable chef, but the restaurant itself is run down, chairs uncomfortable, noise level excessive and service sketchy. Some of our food (Duck confit pad thai and mixed mushrooms) was excellent, but the watermelon gazpacho was way too heavy on the garlic, and my husband couldn't eat it. Tuna tartare was mediocre and overpriced. Waitress couldn't stop asking how things were "TASTING", but didn't wait for an answer! Building should probably be condemned and the decor is falling apart.”

“Absolutely wonderful dining experience. I brought a friend of mine here for their birthday and they had been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years... said it was still just as amazing as ever. They staff was very nice and attentive and made the night one to remember. Their food is incredibly flavorful and the presentation is superb. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend going yourself. Santa Fe has some truly unique dining experiences and Coyote Cafe deserves its place on that list.”

“we sat at the small little bar to the side until our table was ready. The ambience was calming, beautiful, a place that we needed to be at.
when we got to our table, our server, her name is Monserrat, very attentive and very polite. she was very knowledgeable on the menu, which I always appreciate. The place is clean, pretty like I said calming. our food was absolutely spectacular, Delicious everything I expected.
we ordered the bread basket a nice bottle of wine. My husband had the special which was a Seabass, oh my Lord, that was delicious.. I had the filet mignon everything on that plate was so good from the mushrooms to the sauces to the different flavors that came from everything on that plate. I wish I could explain it. It was so good. we ended our meal with a molten bittersweet chocolate cake. Oh my goodness another ballpark out of the park hit! we will go back!”

The Pink Adobe 406 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe Mexican • $$$

“My wife and I dined at The Pink Adobe on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. There was no wait time as we had a reservation. It was a special occasion, my wife's birthday. The ambiance was very nice; we sat inside as the music outside was a bit loud. Our waiter was very pleasant, although seemingly a bit overwhelmed. The food was very good but we were a bit shocked at the small size of the beet salad. We opted to share it and it would have been very little for one person. In addition, we were charged $8 for sharing. We were not informed about this charge ahead of ordering. We were pleasantly surprised to be served the traditional Pink Adobe apple pie as a birthday treat. All in all, it was a nice experience.”

Izanami Restaurant 21 Ten Thousand Waves Way, Santa Fe Japanese • $$$

“On a previous trip to Santa Fe, Izanami was my favorite bite. Not so this time around. The eggplant was very good, but everything else was underwhelming. On the previous visit, I was able to order the bimbimbop and bento box for dinner. Those (amazing) items were not available during dinner. Even more, or server was inattentive and not available to offer guidance. The setting is still beautiful, but this particular visit did disappint.”

La Boca 72 West Marcy Street, Santa Fe Tapas Bar • $$$

“Service was on slower side of things throughout the meal, but all servers were pretty nice. All of my tapas were pretty delish, and I really liked their Spanish mushroom soup, papatas bravas and and mussels with coconut milk salsa verde: everything was spot on. Their Spanish negroni cocktail was lovely, too. The gateau basque dessert kinda ruined my meal: it seems to have been sitting in the fridge for the day but it was certainly not made fresh and I could hardly taste vanilla bean in it. A lady manager came by and was rather kind to comp it after I declined to try another dessert instead.”

Gatsby's Directly across Sky Cinema, 1607 Alcaldesa St Ste 201, Santa Fe Wine Bar • $$$

“We visited here to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary and it was the highlight of our evening.

Aesthetics- This is an amazingly beautiful place. They took the idea of a glamorous speakeasy and executed it to perfection. The piano player contributed to the mood, playing at the perfect volume to allow us to enjoy both the music and our conversations. Even the staff’s dress alluded to the theme.

Food and Drinks - Though some menu items were pricey, others were much more reasonable. The portion sizes were generous enough that we felt sated (not like some other fancy Santa Fe restaurants where we needed to get fast food later to fill up 😉) The drink selection was varied and the cocktails were inspired. The cocktails which my husband and I ordered were artfully done, and tasted like the descriptions in the menus, while still providing a nice buzz. (I hate when I order a drink based on the description but then can only taste the alcohol!) We ate the Fritto Misto, Truffle Gouda Pasta with shrimp, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Each was impressive and delicious. We ordered the pomme d’oro for dessert; it was delightful in both presentation and flavor.

Service - Extremely thoughtful and attentive. I asked for water and they offered “sparkling, still or tap”. I asked for still; and though they left the bottle at the table, we never once had to refill our own glasses, they ensured the glasses were never empty. The waitress helped me select a cocktail, and graciously allowed us to finish our appetizer and cleared the plate before our entrees were brought to us. (This is not always our experience when dining out.) Later, our remaining food was taken to the back to be boxed and bagged before being returned to us. We dine out frequently, and lament that good service is so rare in Santa Fe, our hometown. But the service at Gatsby’s was impeccable!

Final Thoughts - I love having a reason to get all dolled up, and am so glad to have a place like Gatsby’s which is worthy of my best efforts! 😘. My husband prefers to dress casually but did wear a collared button up shirt with his jeans. There is no dress code for Gatsby’s, they welcome you as you are. But putting on something nice (and forcing my husband to do it) contributed to our enjoyment of this fabulous place. After such an exquisite experience, we plan to return.”

“This is my favorite shop in Santa Fe! The tea selection is amazing, and it's displayed beautifully. The friendly and helpful staff add to the overall joy of being in this store. They also sell many other things, so it's an excellent place to find the perfect gift. My favorite teas are a green raspberry orange rhapsody, and herbal rose petal raspberry. We served several of their teas at a baby shower in Colorado, and people loved them. I recently inadvertently dropped some gorgeous fabric flowers in the parking lot some distance from the shop. A kind person handed them in, and the shop tracked me down so I could collect them. I was so grateful to them for taking the trouble to do that. I highly recommend you visit this store if you can, and if you can't, there's always the online option. Thank you to everyone at Artful Tea!”

Joe's Tequila Bar 303 E Alameda St, Santa Fe Lounges • $$

“We stayed at the Inn on the Alameda April 9th and 10th, 2026 while visiting Santa Fe for my uncle’s Celebration of Life. We cannot say ENOUGH about how wonderful this hotel is. It has a lovely atmosphere…the ambiance is SUPERB! It is quiet, quaint and very safe. The staff is the most courteous, warm, helpful and sincere of anywhere we have ever stayed. When I say staff, I mean ALL STAFF, from front desk staff, breakfast staff, house maid staff, parking staff and Joe’s Tequila Bar staff…they are GREAT!! It is obvious they love where they work and represent their jobs to the very best of their abilities. It is well located to be able to walk almost anywhere you need to go and you feel safe doing so. They have a wonderful free breakfast (more like going to a nice restaurant than a hotel). All of the food is fresh and very well presented. They have shuttle service if needed (we did not use, but it was offered to us if we got out and about and it was needed). We stopped in at Joe’s Tequila Bar (another perk of this hotel) both evenings before retiring for the night for a superb Margarita, fresh guacamole one evening and a very smooth shot of tequila the next evening….they had just began stocking this particular tequila. Joe’s has a darling patio area with shade umbrellas and heaters, but they also have inside seating for those who prefer that. This hotel earns our BEST RATING!!! Thank you Inn on the Alameda…we will be back ❤️”

What made the experience even better was the guy running it. He genuinely is one of the kindest people I’ve met. So sweet, welcoming, and full of heart. You can feel the care and pride that goes into both the food and the service, and that kind of authenticity is rare. The prices are unbelievably affordable for the amount and quality of food you get, and the service was quick without ever feeling rushed.

The ambiance was very nice; we sat inside as the music outside was a bit loud. Our waiter was very pleasant, although seemingly a bit overwhelmed. The food was very good but we were a bit shocked at the small size of the beet salad. We opted to share it and it would have been very little for one person. “We booked a table at this charming restaurant on a whim and I am so glad we went. Our food and the experience was excellent. My only regret was that we had been traveling all day and I simply didn't feel up to a full meal. I look forward to returning.

We chose a table inside because the street was fairly busy and noisy at the time we arrived. The atmosphere was charming and inviting and we settled in quickly. I am celiac and had no trouble ordering from this menu and the waitstaff were accommodating and well informed.

I had the grilled Spanish Octopus which was served on a bed of hummus with small pieces of habanero sausage. The octopus was perfectly prepared and utterly fabulous and the hummus with sausage balanced it nicely. I could taste the flavor of habanero in the sausage, but it was not overwhelming in heat. My companion had the cannelloni and she reported that it was full of shrimp and crab and that it too was absolutely delicious. The beet salad was also quite good. I felt the balance of flavors was simultaneously artful and simple.

I would happily return”

“The hotel lobby and this restaurant were just hands down gorgeous. The photos from past reviews, or what really pulled me into this place. And of course, the location being right there by the church.
They had a special ceviche that day was that was just decadent and absolutely delicious. With red snapper, the cilantro, the onions and it came out presented in a blue corn tortilla bowl.
Both of our meals were delicious!
Although our waiter was well versed to help guide me through my celiac choices, it took a while for us to get a drink order after we were seated. Another gentleman had immediately brought us water but we sat there for a good 10 to 15 minutes thinking, maybe it was like a very true siesta type restaurant. Haha
We didn't see many waiters so maybe they were just lacking on stuff that day, but it took a while to order our drinks, and then it took just as long to order our food, and then at the end it took just as long to receive our check. We sat there with empty cups, empty plates for at least ten minutes. To be fair, we were also ready to get back on the road. So we might have noted the time more than usual.

This could have been also one off day for them. The atmosphere and the food certainly made up for it.”

It was a delight when it was made as an avocado based toast, but now is available with a delicious hummus spread. Featuring local sourdough bread that's lightly toasted topped with organic eggs that can be ordered in any style, (how they make the scrambled version so light and fluffy is beyond me) along with fresh red onion that is a complement and never intrusive. The feta cheese sprinkled on top just adds the finishing touch. My other suggestion? While this is a breakfast specialty, you might want a savory element, adding a side order of sautéed mushrooms. “We had a very enjoyable experience at Cottonwood Kitchen. Our server, Dan, was so friendly he made us feel very welcome and at ease. He promptly greeted us with cold waters and lemon slices, and returned moments later with delicious drinks from the bar and a delicious appetizer. He recommended entrees for the two of us, which surpassed both of our expectations. They tasted delicious, and the food presentations were so appealing. He frequently checked on our needs without ever interrupting our conversations. He seamlessly and unobtrusively weaved between his many tables, keeping everyone happy and satisfied. His calm cheerful manner complimented our dinner. He attended to needs we did not even know we had, like bringing us extra napkins during the meal. It was an outstanding dinner experience.”

BOXCAR

BOXCAR 133 West Water Street, Santa Fe Sports Bar • $$

“Actually enjoy going to Boxcar now that it has private party dining room, large dining area that's not ovee crowded, patio area, and an entertainment room. All are welcome and like that they are not woke as to leave out Conservative or make us feel awkward to "new society ". Actually enjoy karaoke now there that negitive people who don't want to be "so called bothered by us having fun and singing" are in another area completely. Everyone even if just watching some really good singers like Bricey, gets into it mood with dancing, singing along, cheering for the brave singers. Shanny Soul gives a great vibe Wednesday nights always being fair in rotation allowing those who haven't sang get a chance to plus only sings when its a small crowd, did overhear 2 ladies if that's what you call them complaining about not having a second tern in over an hour but there were just so many singers to have first turn and were being rude to KJ, staff and other patrons. Dorian cool but you can tell when he's drinking or drunk. He shouldn't bump people down list when there name is already showing in next 2. He tends to put people for second before others who haven't gotten chance. He also sings too much when long list. Crash is great but does do as Dorian with rotation and singing but is super friendly and does not drink. There's also a lady singer who seem to work with them or goes KJ for Shanny breaks. Seen her Sunday too, is super helpful with App and supper friendly adding to welcoming us environment. Food more expensive no but still great and expected for downtown. Loving wait staff and secutiy.. not recommended for young child”

“Cozy dining space with lots of seating options indoors and outdoors. The food is good, no bad choices, especially breakfast & brunch meals. Morning service consistency could use some improvement...coffee should always be served with stirring spoons but the staff forgets, and brewed coffee should always be filtered and grounds-free, but we've had gritty mud at the bottoms of our cups a few times. Food comes out fast & hot once ordered, but it can take 10 or 15 minutes for the morning staff to offer coffee & water & take a food order. Otherwise, nice hotel restaurant & we've never had a bad meal here.”
