“First, our waiter was amazing. One of the best we have ever had. Really explained not only the food, but also the chef's philosophy to include it on the menu and his own personal “take” on vintage recipes to make them fresh and delicious. He was so personable and really made our evening special. The cocktails were inventive (but not to “avant- guard”. Very delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The food was fabulous. Everything on our plates was consistently so good. Again, beautifully presented and extremely delicious. We had the scallops which were so citrusy and flavorful. The sea bass with the mole, again, so exciting to our taste buds. The pork tomahawk was tender and juicy and so well seasoned but not over powering. The elk tenderloin melted in your mouth. So scrumptious. One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time!”

“There is nothing we don’t love about this restaurant. The food is “real” New Mexican with some excellent special touches by the chef. The ambiance is wonderful, and the decor is authentic. Even the music is well selected and at a volume that enables pleasant conversation during the meal. The staff is helpful, responsive and friendly. A special shout out to Daniel, who is appropriately attentive and professional, always with a smile. Already looking forward to our next visit!”

Restaurant Martin 526 Galisteo St, Santa Fe American • $$$

“We dined at Restaurant Martin (RM) this week during our annual trip to Santa Fe, NM. Our first dinner this trip, and what a treat. All the staff are amazing... friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Seleste was our waitress, and she did a GREAT job! Thank you Seleste! The restaurant is cool and cozy, with dining areas and tables spaced so each table has a bit of privacy. They place a little business card on your table with the server's name and a little bio... very nice. The food and drinks were exquisite! We started with a couple of cocktails, Lavender Haze and Tequila Twilight... both were delicious! The bread served is $3/person, but well worth it. Awesome thyme butter on the side, and there is a hot rock in the bread bowl to keep the bread warm! For the appetizer, we shared the asparagus and prosciutto salad... sublimely good! Our entrees were the chef seafood special, barramundi, and the prime beef tenderloin. Per our usual practice, we each ate 1/2 of our entree and we swapped plates. The fish was expertly prepared and the steak perfectly grilled. Both dishes were on point! We shared the soft chocolate-espresso pave for dessert, heaven on a plate! A bottle of Veuve Clicquot rounded out the dinner, dunked in an ice bath, and was as good as ever. The restaurant's wine list is extensive, something for everyone, both Old World and New. Highly recommend Restaurant Martin, 5 Stars across the board!”

“I’m not a big fan of pasta but my husband is, we found this place while walking around downtown and exploring a bit, and we decided to tried. OMG this blow up my mind, mac&cheese here is DELICIOUS, if I wanna eat pasta I’m definitely coming back here, I don’t mind driving 4-5 hrs. Me and my husband ordered a size medium container of mac&cheese and it was super cheap and they give you A LOT. We were super full. Congrats to the owner.”

“If you are in Santa Fe you absolutely have to visit Tres Colores! We were up there with family and friends for my dad's internment in the national cemetery. There were 13 of us that showed up for lunch without calling ahead. The space is small but they didn't even bat an eye. They quickly slid tables and chairs together and seated us. Service was excellent and the food was some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was beautiful and flavor was phenomenal. I don't think I will ever be satisfied with nachos from anywhere else. It was so well balanced. I am grateful for the hospitality they provided and will always remember this experience.”

“First of all, what a beautiful space! Very clean, bright and well decorated. I visited early on a Saturday afternoon and they only had a few tables but plenty of folks working and ready to assist. I had the orange shrimp which was phenomenal and a Thai iced tea with boba. The boba was fresh with a great texture and flavor. The orange shrimp came with orange peel that was actually edible, many Asian restaurants it is too bitter but this was sweet and bitter and really complimented the dish. Very good! Look forward to going back. Free parking at hotel next door before 5pm!”

The restaurant is located in what appears to be a former fast food joint. The restaurant was busy each time we were there. The short wait for a table was rewarded by some of the best Italian food we've had in quite a while. The staff are all friendly and accomodating and cheerfully rush around making sure all the guests have everything they need. Every dish we tried was fresh and flavorful. Somehow the small kitchen manages to quickly serve everyone in the dining room as well as the steady stream of cars going through the drive-thru. The secret is out about Piccolino. “To be honest I have eaten here a few times and the food is good, but service is a little off putting. The whole vibe I was seeing between workers was a little tense and also, when I received my check, it had a gratuity fee for five dollars even though there was just three of us. To be clear, on the menu, it said gratuity will be charged for partys of 6+. Definitely was upcharged judging by the fact he gave me a first recipt without a gratuity fee, I put my card in the pay book, recived it back, and it had a tip option and gratuity fee added. 5 dollars for the gratuity fee wich is lowkey crazy, and I still tipped 3 dollars. To keep in mind, me and my other two teen friends were there, and received service slowly. Not very angry about that, but the fact that he upcharged us is throwing me off. Again, good food, just my server’s attitude while grabbing our checks was a little ridiculous. I didn’t wanna review this restaurant to filth because it could have just been a bad day but liek..”

My server Abbey was so sweet and amazing to me. Service was the best I’ve had here. She even asked me if I wanted another lemonade to go. :) 10/10 recommend, and definitely will be back soon! Thank you Abbey, my lunch was amazing because of YOU!

“Our first meal under the new ownership was a surprise. You'd expect some stumbling as with any new endeavor, but we were surprised by the creative and artistic dishes. We began (as we often did previously) with a charcuterie board - an amazing improvement over past experiences with many more treats to sample. We split the beet and burrata salad which was also excellent. The Duroc Pork Tomahawk was great, paired with sautéed spinach and tempura broccolini. Just in the edge of overcooked, if presented Medium it would have been perfect. Our other entree was the lobster and scallops dish which was served with black rice, copious amounts of caviar, and another visual triumph. My wife thoroughly enjoyed. Too full to even contemplate dessert, the offerings sounded great. Extra points for visual presentation and creativity! Service was perfect, highly attentive but never hovering. While the liquor license is still pending, we are excited to return and try some of the other dishes.”

“I want to start by giving a huge shoutout to Leidy, the server who made everything even better, if that was even possible.

The boutique hotel in which the restaurant is located, is a jewel. One of the most beautiful in Santa Fe. They really paid attention to details, and restaurant Amaya is not far behind.

Everything, with the exception of one of the two elk medallions on my plate, was exceptional. One of the medallions was a little overcooked and tough, the other one was fantastic. My wife and I both enjoyed the Hacienda Mojito, which is a great deal coming from two Miami long time residents.

I strongly recommend the Chimayo Soup. The chile used in the soup is mild and has a surprisingly nutty flavor profile at the end. The queso fresco on top added a salty finish and stringy grand finale. DELICIOUS!!!

The sesame crusted Salmon was well executed and came on a bed of risotto, which I thought was phenomenal. We also ordered the Cobb Salad. Props to them, as the salad was super fresh (no wilted vegetables) and the light and fruity dressing complemented it perfectly.

My wife only orders Creme Brûlée for dessert, and while I hardly ever even try it, as I find it boring, this one was the exception. It wasn’t too sweet and had a nice creamy consistency expected of custards or natillas. They definitely know their desserts; however, my type of dessert comes in liquid form and it’s called Porto. Their Fonseca Porto 20 years really hit the spot and put an exclamation point on a great meal. I strongly recommend this restaurant.”

“Not being gamblers, we don’t normally dine at local Santa Fe casinos. But after hearing an ad on the local jazz station for Cottonwood Kitchen’s Wednesday night 6-9p special, we decided to give it a try. Sarah loves prime rib, which is $19 on Wednesday night, first come-first serve, no reservations, and when it’s gone it’s gone. We eat at 8p but we arrived around 7:15 to be assured some beef and we were not disappointed. We started with a tasty “Northern New Mexico” Caesar-ish salad (sorry, I’m a Caesar salad purist, but it WAS tasty). The prime rib was perfectly prepared and the mashed potatoes stayed warm throughout the meal, which never happens. The service was excellent. Two other BIG reasons to go on a Wednesday night are half-priced wine by the glass and live jazz. If you like sports, there is a wall of TVs in the bar. We sat at a table in the spacious dining room but would have also been very happy at the 360 degree bar looking out into the casino and its colorful slots. We will be back.”

Actually enjoy karaoke now there that negitive people who don't want to be "so called bothered by us having fun and singing" are in another area completely. Everyone even if just watching some really good singers like Bricey, gets into it mood with dancing, singing along, cheering for the brave singers. Shanny Soul gives a great vibe Wednesday nights always being fair in rotation allowing those who haven't sang get a chance to plus only sings when its a small crowd, did overhear 2 ladies if that's what you call them complaining about not having a second tern in over an hour but there were just so many singers to have first turn and were being rude to KJ, staff and other patrons. Dorian cool but you can tell when he's drinking or drunk. He shouldn't bump people down list when there name is already showing in next 2. He tends to put people for second before others who haven't gotten chance. He also sings too much when long list. Crash is great but does do as Dorian with rotation and singing but is super friendly and does not drink. There's also a lady singer who seem to work with them or goes KJ for Shanny breaks. Seen her Sunday too, is super helpful with App and supper friendly adding to welcoming us environment. Food more expensive no but still great and expected for downtown. Loving wait staff and secutiy.. not recommended for young child”

My husband and I travel and always are disappointed with most Mexican restaurants but not this one I intend to go back here before I leave.”

“Man I had never tried kombucha until I tried their black cherry flavored variety. After the first taste I loved it and return weekly to purchase a bottle to go. I give it an A + for service and product but at $9 a bottle a bit too pricey on SSD income. Still worth it when that cherry flavor comes thru”

La Choza Restaurant 905 Alarid St, Santa Fe Mexican • $

“The food at La Choza is excellent. There are a ton of vegetarian options, and the green chiles and margaritas are delicious. We went to this restaurant 2 out of 3 days we were in Santa Fe, and if we were staying longer, we would go again. The server our second night was Luis. We had never met such an outstanding server. Luis made sure we had all the information to order something we would enjoy. He noticed that some crema was left off of my chile relleño before I even noticed, and he immediately sent some to the table. He was friendly, and when we mentioned what an excellent job he did, he said it was because he loves people. I hope you get to meet him while you are eating there!”

Rio Chama Prime Steakhouse 414 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe Steak House • $$$

“We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Rio Chama. My husband and I live on the Easy Coast and had never stepped into the restaurant before our rehearsal dinner (the fun of planning a destination wedding) so we were trusting other online reviews and hoping for the best. BUT LET ME TELL YOU. The moment we stepped into Rio Chama, the vibe was amazing and everything we wanted in a dinner/welcome party venue. I cannot say enough about the the staff, the food, the drinks, and the organization of the entire evening. It was beautiful, clean, and such a nice Santa Fe aesthetic. April, their events manager, went above and beyond as our main point-of-contact. From our initial conversation, she was so helpful and prompt with responses to any questions that we had. At the very last minute, we had about 10 more guests coming to our dinner and she handled it with absolute ease (our rehearsal dinner was 70 people and welcome party with drinks was around 100). She is an absolute gem and our night would not have been the same without her. She even texted me the next day and wished us a beautiful wedding day. I highly recommend Rio Chama if you're looking for anything from a delicious Santa Fe date night, to a large gathering like a wedding rehearsal dinner. We're now forever fans of the food, drinks, and people <3”

Tres Colores 101 W Marcy St, Santa Fe Mexican • $
