“Feels like a tourist spot. $26 Ruben. $3 soda. The sandwich was awesome, you’ll just pay for it. Good spot for you to order online, pick up and go. Better to eat at a park near by, Not much room to eat inside. There’s a few tables out front. Trendy neighborhood, this place is not going anywhere. I would come back for sure.“
“Amazing breakfast sandwich. Chicken sausage was so good and flavorful, spicy mayo was perfect. Perfectly toasted brioche was the cherry on top. They have a full menu and specials like corn bread french toast and shrimp and grits, will try that next time. Cappuccino was really good. Few seats inside, handful of tables outside. Food was made to order and unexpectedly very quickly. We left and almost came back to get something to go for lunch. Staff went above and beyond to welcome us in... definitely recommend“
“I've been loving La Sandwicherie since their original food cart operation by McCarren Park. So glad they opened an official shop! The menu is well curated, all ingredients are quality, sandwiches are made to order and everything I’ve ever had here tastes fresh and delicious.“
“This is my absolute favorite banh mi spot! You can order any time of the day and the bread will still be just as fresh and crispy. I've never tried banh mi like this anywhere before. The number 1 is my go-to and is so compact with flavors. You definitely can't go wrong with anything here! I always pair my banh mi from here with an iced milk tea. This is a small local shop in Brooklyn and is a must visit if you're around town.“
“I came here with a friend after roaming around the neighborhood while we waited for our table at Evelina. We walked in and immediately were drawn to the great selection of pantry items they had (sucker for colorful labels as well). I’m not a big cook so it kind of inspired me to want to try some recipes just to incorporate some of the items we saw. After looking around for a bit we walked out and decided we definitely wanted to come by another time to check out the sandwiches, well that some time turned into a few hours later when we got hungry again and wrangled our other friend to come to the shop with us.While looking at the menu the guy behind the counter was super nice and asked what we were in the mood for, while we looked over the wide selection of sandwiches he gave me a taste of the buttermilk fried chicken in the Korean sauce they had and WOW it was soooo tasty and juicy. I ended up getting the Korean fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickled onions. My friends both got the friend whiting sandwich and they absolutely loved it.Call us creatures of habits but we ended up going back again the next day to try another sandwich because we were craving it so much! 1 whiting sandwich, 1 shrimp po boy and I got the chicken cutlet with Calabrian chili aioli and wow, someone needs to bottle that chili aioli and sell it!So happy to have such a nice neighborhood spot (just discovered it but I see they’ve been open since 2021) with such amazing customer service and great sandwiches. Can’t wait to go back and try more!“
“They have one of the best roast beef sandwiches in Brooklyn they've been there 86 YEARS!!! WOW!!!If you get the knife and fork roast beef sandwich you MUST eat it right away if you wait too long the juice will make the bread soggy..thier roast beef is excellent I recommend either the knife and fork where they dip the whole sandwich in the greasy oily yummy gravy..omfg deeelicious!!!! Or you can have one half of the bun dipped in the gravy or have it dry just the roast beef in the gravy..I've been there twice and it's ALWAYS the same DEEELICIOUS 5 stars all around once you go once you WILL go back.i hope they're around 86 more years..an old fashioned restaurant SINCE 1938!“
“Incredible people, even better food. My partner and I go to subhub 2-3x a week and have never had a bad experience. Reasonably priced (could probably charge more) and excellent food. Our favorite spot in the neighborhood!Kid-friendliness: Warm and friendly staff!“
“John’s Deli is an incredible piece of Brooklyn history. Good food, friendly staff and one-of a kind atmosphere. They have many photos of celebrities and the whole place is a celebration of Italian-American history. I even got a free piece of merchandise from a manager! Take the D train there and try out the “JoJo the Whale” fried shrimp sandwich“
“Their Gluten Free Bagels are amazing. I ordered online which was a mistake - it said it would take 45 minutes to be ready but when I walked over there 5 minutes later it was ready (phew!) and I think I was charge a fee. So ORDER but not online!Love love love the bagels.“
“Super delicious Italian sandwiches here! It was crazy that there was over 100 different sandwiches to choose from. It got a bit overwhelming. I ended up choosing 2 sandwiches ( the alyssa milano & leonardo dicaprio), 1 potato croquette & pastrami croquette. The sandwiches are hugeeee, XXXL! I ate half & saved the other half for another time. The bread they use was superb - super delicious, fresh & soft! Alyssa milano (#62 ) - Chicken cutlet, prosciutto di parma, LIONI fresh mozzarella, and basil mix. This sandwich was delicious and very enjoyable! Leonardo Dicaprio (#111) - Fried eggplant, Roast Beef, LIONI fresh mozzarella, white american, bruschetta, sun-dried tomato, stuffed peppers and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. This sandwich was all over the place w/ different flavors but super delicious and enjoyable! I love the fried eggplant, roast beef, cheese, sun dried tomato, stuffed peppers & the sauce they use. I would reorder this! The potato croquette - this item was not warm for some reason (told guy we would like it warmed up). It did not taste good at all. The pastrami croquette - this item was also not warm for some reason & did not taste that great either. Super fast service & staff was attentive. There is indoor seating w/ a few tables & chairs.“
“The vegetarian options are incredible!! So filling and definitely worth it for the price. Also the little boxes that they come in are unreal cute, I get too excited to pop them open. The Gobbler (pictured) is my fav!!Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are just as creative and delicious as the meat options. It’s clear that the vegetarian/vegan sandwiches are not an afterthought for this place, they are a prioritized part of the menu!!! (The Gobbler is my fav- it’s thanksgiving in a sandwich!)Dietary restrictions: Vegan options are delicious, vegetarian sandwiches easily made vegan by subbing cheese and eliminating mayo!!“
“This place 100% lives up to the hype probably seen some other sandwiches go viral on social media and it’s easy to see why! I literally drove over an hour to get here just to get a sandwich and it was incredible!Totally worth waiting in line for I got the FDNY, which is chicken cutlet the best homemade vodka sauce you’ll ever have in your life, and fresh mozzarella that was so delicious and melted in your mouth! I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu“
“I am now addicted to malawach: puffy, layered, crispy on the outside, chewy. The BEC+L malawach wrap was fantastic - even delivered, I got the layers. The added crunch from the latke pushed this sandwich into better than breakfast burrito territory. The dairy-free tahini coffee slushie was also excellent. Well-packaged, no spills.“
“I love that there's always parking. The place is clean throughout. Don't sleep on the fried shrimp here, it is consistently bomb. It's disappointing that they only have prepackaged tartar sauce and no other offering to go with it. I hate American Cheese but this is the one place I'll tolerate and at times, indulge in it with the fries. I love their orangeade and appreciate that they include a chunk of actual fruit in it. I've been a customer for years and probably will be so long as I'm in NYC.“
“One of the best sandwich shops in the city. I try to get a new sandwich every time I come but I tend to go back to my favorites. You won’t be disappointed. This will make you spoiled for other sandwich spots, I warn you. They have gluten free bread! (They charge a couple bucks extra), and it’s actually good GF bread lol.Deff. A place to go for take out, rare chance to get a spot to sit down, since there’s only two small tables. And usually a line. But try your luck.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free bread! (They charge a couple bucks extra)Wheelchair accessibility: Space for a wheelchair“
“I highly recommend Brooklyn Bread Café! The Mary B sandwich is my absolute favorite – a delicious choice. Every meal is consistently fresh, and I've never had a disappointing experience. The speedy service adds to the overall fantastic experience. Oh, and don’t skip dessert. Especially the cookies! They’re all amazing. A must-try spot!“
“My older family members came to NY to visit from Chicago. I went to order 5 Dinner plates for the family that were visiting and 3 more, for myself, partner and my mom. When I return wit food, we all began to eat. NONE OF US WAS SATISFIED! POTATO SALAD WAS PRETTY OK. THE MAC N CHEESE, HORRIBLE! THE MACARONI SALAD, WATERY AND DISGUSTING AF, NO TUNA ADDED. COLLARD GREENS , NOT SEASONED LIKE REAL BLK SOUL TASTE.. NASTY! UNLESS PPL ARE USE TO EATING BLAND AND OR NOT REAL BLACK PPL COOKING.“
“I'd recently picked up 4 wonderful beers from 'Strong Rope, who offered no food, no food truck nearby. So when I walked around the corner to see the shiny metal caravan, on kitch fake grass, selling sandwiches, I was thrilled. My breakfast sandwich ($8) in the afternoon was very tasty and delivered with style. It was small. 5 stars would need a bigger sandwich. O would definitely eat here again, thankyou!“
“Best breakfast sandwiches ever. I had the "kwason" and hubby had the BEC. They actually know how to properly soft scramble the eggs, and every ingredient was high quality and in perfect proportion. They were absolutely delicious, and the cold brew kept me caffeinated all the way back to DC. Can't wait to visit again.“
“It was raining cats and dogs. I was looking through the fridge for something to eat. I figured, let me cook these ravioli and find a place really close by that has meata balla...and that will be my dinner. I checked in at Charlie's for a few meatballs and saw they also had some Italian Specialties to go (manicotti, meat lasagne), so I also picked up the lasagne. Nice experience in there. I loved the posters. I quizzed the guy, "Which one of these people in the posters said "Vote Early and Vote Often"? I pointed to Al Capone. We chatted about Al Capone, I told him some of the info I knew, which was alot! Anyway, I had a wonderful lasagne and meatball dinner and there's enough for two more meals. Thanks, Alex!“
“TRIED THE SAUSAGE, EGG, CHEESE AND HASHBROWN ON AN ENGLISH MUFFIN & IT WAS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS WERE VERY FRESH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NOT FULL OF OIL. THE ORANGE JUICE IS TO DIE FOR- FRESHLY SQUEEZED. I AM SUPER PLEASED WITH THIS CAFE AND WILL BE RECOMMENDING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GO SUPPORT THEM AND TRY THEIR FANTASTIC FOOD OPTIONS. THANK YOU SO MUCH LITE BITES CAFE!“
“Overall rating: 4.1I stopped by this place for a quick lunch while in the area. I really don’t like how it’s impossible to know the price until you’re right there at the ordering. The website should consider updating given there isn’t any place to sit and think.I ended up paying about $15 for the Cubano and it was okay. It wasn’t anything special. I kinda had a little higher expectations being in Williamsburg and it felt like a boutique shop. Not sure if I’ll come back again if I’m in the area. Recommend giving it a try, but lower your expectations.“
“Great service & great sandwiches! Had heard a lot about Compton and was very excited to try it! Went for the special: Spicy chicken parm and was its everything I needed it to be! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the Calabrian chili’s were a great touch.“
“Today on this day in spring of 2024, sunny but a little cold outside, and with a line down the street, the most perfect green goddess biscuit was made. So grateful for this place and kuddos to the kitchen for handling all the hungry bellies today with ease and perfection!“
“The prices physically hurt to process and the pain is made even more palpable due to the sandwiches tasting fantastic. For vegetarians, I highly recommend the Vegitalian, and if your stomach is the size of a golf ball, go ahead and try the Veg Loaf.“
“Walk in and you're welcomed like family, not just hey ,more like hi fam ,come let me feed you vibe. The guys there are so warm and friendly it's very refreshing to dine in that type of company. We've been there multi times and the service and food quality is consistent. Small shop with a few counter seats , but we like to sit when we can and chat with the guys. This place has a connection to the community. The sandwiches are named after various parts of Brooklyn. They will also make any combinations you like. Meat and cheese quality excellent. Veggies and toppings fresh. The bread- it's very special. Shop is clean and evident of their A code rating. Some people say it's NY and you can get sandwiches like that anywhere. That may be true but you know what's also abundant? - Rude and lukewarm staff. For me dining is an entire experience especially at the cost of it today. You can have the best food but be treated like your patronage is not appreciated . I'm definitely not supporting any business like that. I'm spending my hard earned coins where I feel very comfortable and basic human decency is extended. I'll eat with these amigos any given day. Personal favorites - The Verrazono Douglas Street The Cyclone“
“Neighborhood spot, especially with all that’s changing in the area, you can grab anything from a breakfast burrito to to some groceries. I moved away from the area but everyone still remembered me and it was ice to be there. Get the letter b smoothie and add mint, amazing!“
“There was a misunderstanding but it was dealt with in a cordial manner. I appreciate it ??Vegetarian options: Veggie delight without cheese toasted and avocado ?Dietary restrictions: I chose not to have cheese or any animal by product on my sandwich ? and was accommodated.“
“At work on a Sunday so my coworker and i tried the veggie pork and the tofu. It's cut in half so we shared. I enjoyed both, my coworker didn't like the tofu as much, because it was too spicy. Unfortunately for her, that's what I ordered lol. They both were delicious. I will definitely go back.“
“Tator Tots the bomb there chicken and fries were diner style also good there smoothies were just Okay i think they need more practice on that for the price i wouldn't buy a large for $8.00 the way they are made i who's pay max $5.00 for a large it's not like a fruit refreshing smoothie it was more like a room temp yogurt type smoothie anyway other than that the staff were nice and respectful i liked the fact they have spanish music and a shelf of spanish items someone here wrote a review of how they are not sure if they wanna be a coffee shop or bodega when your from the hood you appreciate things like this in area as such so i'm not complaining they are not faking the funk it is what it is basically and places like that are always the ones who make it far with customers.. with that being said i would def go here again“
“Mandy helped us host a virtual event with our clients. Absolutely incredible cheeses and she was perfect at hosting everyone on zoom. We’ve done a lot of virtual sessions and this was by far the best. Mandy is beyond knowledgeable without being pretentious, and strikes the right balance of leading the event while allowing everyone else to connect and ask questions. Thank you Mandy!!!“
“Sure... People complain that they don't make their Bagels the "New York Way." But they're still made with authentic New York water. So they're still good!! Oh, and the other food is very good also! Great staff. All of them are very helpful and hustling every time I'm in there. Keep up the great work!“
“Warm staff… immediately when i walked in they greeted me and welcomed me with open arms. Victor and Jose! such nice men. but let me not forget how AMAZING this sandwich was…. unbelievably fresh ingredients… coming back every week! lol. 10/10“
“This is hands down my favorite place to go for breakfast. Without exaggeration the best breakfast sandwich your gonna get. The quality is always on point and the freshness of the ingredients says it all giving you a final product. The weekend is never complete without a visit to F&M. Most times I go there on Saturday morning the Jetsons are on TV as I wait for my order. I love this place and I love the people who work there and the owner is there everyday workin hard. This is 100% how a NYC deli should be. This place needs five stars. Things don't need to be aesthetically pleasing or fancy/hip 24/7. Sometimes all you need is an amazing sandwich, great service, and some Saturday morning cartoons. These guys here really deserve the best always back there working hard and making it happen. Food is always clean, fresh, and the quality and taste is on point. This is the spot!“
“Best tuna in Williamsburg, with lot of mayonnaise!! (not like others that are putting little mayonnaise cuz it's expensive). And sandwiches are low priced (tuna sandwich is 6.50!), not like others that are charging for a tuna sandwich 9 or even 10 dollars..“
“I loved the breakfast sandwich that I got here! My go-to at any deli is a BEC with avocado and this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve had. Bacon was crisp, avocado was perfectly ripe and I got half of a large avocado, roll was chewy, and I added chipotle mayo for a little kick. It’s a good size BEC and this came out to $5. Can’t complain at all! And everyone who worked there was very kind. Will be back soon.“
“The new general manager (forgot to ask him for his name) is so kind and thoughtful! The store accidentally forgot to deliver one of the three sandwiches I ordered and he was so apologetic when I called about it and not only re-delivered all three sandwiches, but also sent a bunch of free cookies and chips. Such a kind thing to do!“
“I had Charlie’s before out of state so I was skeptical to try the Brooklyn location but I was impressed . I ordered a small thinking it was gonna be mid but this cheesesteak made my day from the first bite . I wish it was more saucy but it still was so good . I felt like I was missing ketchup but I still finshed the whole thing without it. Idk if it’s cuz I was hungry or what but I regret not getting the bigger size ? it’s good tho.“
“Waiting time was horrendous. 25 minutes to make a sandwich even though there was only one person who ordered ahead of me and there are about 5 staff people working (moving around in a very ambient way, chatting) Do not come here if in a rush- half an hour sandwich break can stretch into an hour experience. I was so hoping to sit down and enjoy my lunch, but had to take my sandwich to go unfortunately“
“Today I went to Alidoro in Dekalb market hall. I was greeted with amazing ambiance and beautiful customer service from a lady named Tina. She helped me decide what sandwich works best for me. It was the Alidoro of course. The sandwich was so bomb.“
“awesome chicken and rice here. the deli man is patient and you might have to put up with that annoying person who never leaves brooklyn and takes ten minutes to watch their sandwich get made as they keep adding edits to it that are never easily remembered because they're just ridiculous. but when they're done and you get your food you won't regret it.“
“Soon as I walked in I can tell that it would be a good place to get a sandwich because it smelled really good.I got the turkey cheddar onion lettuce tomato mayo salt and pepper on a roll and two Gingerales for $10 cashSandwich was bomb!! And it was huge. He sliced it all fresh when I requested the sandwich. ?“
“Terrific dinner with our family at The Wheelhouse last night - appetizers of cauliflower & brussel sprouts were delicious - and the entrée sandwiches were outstanding. Short Rib & Cheese sandwich with lentil soup was amazing. All that along with very good customer service made for a special night ! Kudos“
“This has to be the cleanest Subways I've ever been to. The staff here are super friendly and patient. They aren't cheap with the portions and make a sandwich really great. The bread is always so fresh and soft if you don't have it toasted. I'd prefer to come here than the Subways closer to me since they are so clean. Truly impressed with how well kept this one is! Soup and sandwiches were delicious. Cookies are even better!“
“Very clean and proffesional staff. Considering the epidemic..they dont allow you come inside without a MASK. Which in my opinion is very positive because it means that the environment is monitored and kept safe. They also now offer dine in service if you want inside and grab a bite there.“
“I just wanna say sorry to this subway they have a very kind team and hard workers I got super upset about my order being wrong without realizing I made the mistake and they tried so hard to assist me even tho I was being unbearable. Apologizes to the staff and thank you so much for the help.“
“Old style NYC luncheonette with a surprising mix of Korean food, served along side deli sandwiches and burgers. Interested in seeing such an odd combination in the middle of Sunset Parks’s industrial zone, we had to order their best seller: Beef Bulgogi. We split a platter of bulgogi with fries (they sold out of rice-must be good) and it was delicious and made rather quickly. Good portion size for $11 plater. There are enough seats for maybe 10 people. This place was poppin! Lots of usual customers coming in and out.“
“Okay.. extremely expensive. I will say the sandwiches are delicious and pretty filling. Eggplant Parm, Shrimp Parm, and Italian Tuna Sandwich are crazy. Just wish they accepted cards and were a little cheaper. I can see it being worth it to some people though.“
“Unfortunately the original Katz’s over in Manhattan had a super long line and I didn’t want to wait so I was trying to find alternatives so I settled on A Taste of Katz’s and then I drove across the river to Brooklyn to try this. I really enjoyed the pastrami, it was very tender and juicy with plenty of condiments such as mustard, gravy, etc. The sandwich is loaded with pastrami meat and the portion is huge. Tastes just as good as the original. The prices were a bit expensive (I paid $20 for a single sandwich) but it was definitely worth it because of the amazing taste. Portion size makes up for it though. Perfect place if you want to try an iconic food of NYC without the long line!“
“Our first stop in Brooklyn after a longer drive, we ordered 1/2 egg and potato sandwich with fried eggplant and it was delicious. It was also more food than we could have finished haha. The people behind the counter worked super quick and were also extremely nice. They only take cash.“
