“Their turmeric bun is insanely good. Was lucky enough to catch it right as it was fresh out of the oven and waiting to be glazed. Almost doubled back for another one it was so good (self restraint won).Delicate, flaky, caramelized crust. Fluffy, light, moist pull-apart center. I usually find glazed pastries too sweet, but this one was perfect - just sweet enough to hit the spot but not too sweet that it feels heavy. The balance of flavors is just right. Just a hint of turmeric that isn't at all overpowering.“
“Great place for great Gelato! We tried Pistachio, Figo and Ferrero Rocher. They were all amazing, but the Pistachio was absolutely stunning! 100 out of 10 !!!I wish I could afford to have ice cream here everyday. It's a real treat and will definitely come back if possible.“
“I LOVE this cafe!! Such a gem right by Astoria park. My husband and I came across Sunshine Cafe one night and we are so glad we did. The food is so fresh and absolutely delicious. They also have the best lentil soup and iced teas! Last, the owner is the sweetest person!! Highly recommend this spot!“
“I had a great time with my family eating delicious Algerian dishes at Kasbah Cafe. The waitresses was committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome, I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.“
“We love everything about this local shop. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and the products are always fresh and delicious. This past week we ordered a custom birthday cake due to dietary restrictions and it was a hit. We can’t recommend this place enough.“
“I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. One of the best coffee concepts I've come across in a while. The coffee is incredible, and their setup is top-notch. It's now my go-to coffee place. Their Fredo Coffee tastes just like it does back in Greece.“
“This is some of the best food of any kind l've had in my 45 years living in NYC. Honestly, it's amazing, chef Jose is delightful and his dishes are so nuanced and delicious. Octopus tostados are heavenly, I have no idea what all it consist of but they are delicious. There are three, I can't eat more than two but the last is always enjoyed by someone else at the table. Burrito are a staple for my lunch/dinner... so fresh and comforting. AND I'm not really a fan of most Mexican food but this is on a whole other level. I just finished a salad of shrimp, avocado, mango, cherry tomato, with paper thin fennel shredded on top. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all but ever so slightly firm and succulent. I live in Manhattan and there isn't anything near me as delicious and fresh. It’s really a special place.“
“I went just before closing and fell in love. Brand new shop. Super clean inside and aesthetically pleasing. Staff was really nice and welcoming and ice cream is so good. I had trouble choosing because there’s so many options.Update: I’m STILL coming here!!!! & it’s my favorite. My go to order:• Supreme Nachos: (3 scoops)- pistachio, cookies & cream, banana crème brûlée- Nutella or marshmallow drizzle& sliced almonds as the topping! ✨? ?Thank me later!!! ?“
“So bummed this place wasn’t around when I was growingUp in Queens (Us Cubans are a rare breed to find in NYC period!) I live in NJ now and still haven’t had really good Cuban food! ? I went to visit my homies in Ridgewood (she’s half Cuban & from Miami -so she knows good Cuban food!!)and was BLOWN away when my order of ropa vieja was delivered…HOLY SHHHHHHH it was delicious & I even had left overs! Generous portions & tasty! Soooo good I to jump online and leave a review! Love this spot!!! HIGHLY recommend!! Took a pic midway through cause it was so yumm!“
“Cooper and Peanut loves going to Annie’s. The staff and Tom(owner) are very friendly! Love a space to do some work and hang out with other pups! Cooper gets to play with other dogs while Peanut is learning how to socialize. My go to drink is the strawberry lemonade.“
“Located on busy Broadway so street parking. Maybe have been lucky bec I usually get a spot when needed. Prices are good. Ube latte is a big cup at $5. Not too sweet for me. Chocolate croissant $3.50 was good warmed which made the filling gooey. Good space with small tables in front of the cafe and better in the back. Maybe could be cozier with dimmer lighting. Friendly service. Clean restroom available.“
“I’ve been a long time customer since it’s grand opening. Nina, Julie, Paul, and staff have done an amazing job at cultivating a sense of community that I have not seen at any cafe before and it is a unique staple of forest hills, queens. They are really good at developing their staff and you can really see that the staff feel appreciated and enjoy working there. And by community, somehow the customers the cafe attracts are all positive and super nice. The cafe makes you want to act on your best behavior maybe because we all know we want to keep coming here and keep the vibes great. lol I enjoy the customers and the interactions here. Finally writing my review. Hope the cafe remains.“
“I ordered a mocha latte and it was really good (they use stumotown coffee so it was a good sign from the beginning). The vibe of the place was very chill and very photo friendly even the bathroom! Batista was super friendly and accommodating.“
“We had a nice breakfast with one of my friend. I have been first time in this such a cute place but I really like the atmosphere since I stepped in.Such a nice and friendly owner and workers are makes you feel like you’re in your home.I also enjoyed the foods. She made everything more than delicious.Definitely will come back again..“
“10/10! Highly recommend. The drinks are reasonably priced. The food is freshly made and delicious. The atmosphere is soothing and welcoming. The seating is limited but sharing a table with a stranger isn’t so bad. All of the patrons were extremely kind. A great work from home (wfh/remote) setting! I’ll be returning soon!“
“The best cortado in the city and a chocolate chip cookie that’s to-die-for. The cortados are always extremely smooth and creamy with a delicate flavor. The cookie I once tried was extremely crisp and melted in my mouth. The staff are really friendly as well. Love this place!“
“Compass Cafe is a light in the neighborhood, it is set apart. From the outside to the inside you can feel a difference. The workers are so nice and friendly. The options are limitless. They always have great new and fun ideas for every season! It’s fully missioned based…where else can you find that? Compass and Hope are my home!“
“On the day I left New York, I happened to come here to grab a meal near my accommodation and had a very warm and delicious meal at a reasonable price. It was run by two Korean owners, which warmed my heart. I heard you're planning to retire soon, so stop by before it closes!“
“Definitely a home style friendly environment, the owner definitely treats customers with open arms. The price is extremely reasonable and the quality of the food is amazing, reminds me of a local snack shop i use to have back in my hometown. Would definitely recommend for a grab and go?“
“This coffee shop is a gem. It’s neat, modern, clean, and the atmosphere is super soothing. There are words of affirmation on their mugs, which was a nice surprise.I had a latte with oat milk and it was refreshing. Seems to be a good place to order some coffee, read a book or get some work done. I didn’t get to check if there was WiFi or not, but this is a place I’d be willing to use my hotspot for.The staff were very warm and welcoming — I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood to try a pastry or two! Thank you.“
“This is one of the cutest and cleanest coffee shops I've ever been. Plus, I'm so fortunate to have it right around the block from my apartment. Lucky to have it around! The owner is so nice and friendly, the coffee is great and the atmosphere is so cozy. Come and check it out if you can!“
“I ordered a chai latte on a Saturday at 12:30 PM. It was perfect flavor, sweetness and temperature. I got it with almond milk. I brought in a bagel from another place. However, I saw that they also sell bagels and I heard people ordering an egg sandwich as well as other items, I also noticed they have healthy shakes as well. Since I live nearby I got a punchcard and I hope to visit soon. I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty positive that it's Latin owned possibly female owned as well. There's not too much seating, I believe there's three tables of two inside and two tables outside. Luckily, not too many people stay for long periods of time I was able to stay for two hours, talking to my friend with no problem.“
“Pretty cool donut shop. Cool music in the background. Donuts come out fresh and warm! You can order ice cream to go with your donuts. I didnt try the coffee, but I hope it’s good cuz then they got the trifecta of the delectable dessert thing down ?“
“Great food, great smoothies, and wonderful customer service! There's also a good selection of high quality vegetarian and vegan items (both food and the smoothies). Would recommend for a quick bite or a full-on meal. Thanks for such a pleasant lunch!“
“Concept Coffee is it! Great menu variety when it comes to coffee, teas, and seasonal drinks, especially if you're craving a drink with an Asian (Filipino) twist - this is the spot! Each beverage is crafted delicately as if you're in a cocktail bar. I've gotten the Buko Pandan Latte and the little details from the pour to the toppings are prime. The atmosphere is fun with a chill, calm ambiance to decompress or wfh with minimal distractions. Close walking distance to the trains, rock climbing gym or LIC waterfront. Honestly, a great stopgap between destinations. Definitely worth checking.“
“So delicious Rich in flavors, and tastes, very very very creamy , soft and sweet !Love it!! I highly recommend the cream, vanilla cake & chocolate mousse cake. The service is amazing. Everyone is so nice and everything looks so pretty. Must try the pastries too you wont regret it.“
“What a bright and open space to work in! Their brewed coffee is perfect — strong but not overwhelming or burnt. Also got their vanilla latte which was a perfect combination of milk for coffee. Their teriyaki chicken sandwich was yummy; it wasn’t too dry. Highly recommend!“
“So far everything I've ordered from here is delicious. My friends and I love the Gelato, macaroons, their keylime pie is so rich. Overall great experience ordering - I have never been in store for the experience but that may change soon.“
“Honestly , me and my spouse eat here almost every day the three that work there run the establishment in PERFECT synchronization ! Nobody in Astoria makes you feel at home like they do I promise no matter what you look like ? love them !Parking: Meter , street but always availableKid-friendliness: Family friendly ! Pet friendlyWheelchair accessibility: They even got a little ramp for you guys as well!“
“Everything is so fresh and homemade! The guac is a must-have. Each portion is made to order. They even put the pit in there to prove to you that each order has a full avocado in it that they just cut open! My family loves this place and we are regular visitors. One of our favorite local small businesses!“
“The Tropical bowl was beautiful! I love to eat açaí bowl, as an afternoon snack or as breakfast and the truth is, the taste was delicious. I find the prices affordable and the service 10/10. I will continue trying this store, its products, I know it will not disappoint me.“
“The environment in this cafe was calm and relaxed. This is a great place for you to finish up any work you need and the type of music gives a nice cafe vibes. The food I order was good and I would definitely order again. The mayo spam kimbap was flavorful and I devoured that meal like in five minutes. I would totally recommend this cafe.“
“This is a very cute shop, my hubby and I took a long drive here but it was well worth it. The minute I walked in, I was so happy seeing and smelling their delicious mochi donuts. They have a delicious selection on teas as well. If I lived closer, I'd go there every day. The service was great, the woman who helped us was so kind and friendly.“
“Found this place when looking for a new cozy coffee spot. My boyfriend lives in Flushing so this was close enough for us to drive to, and the crepes looked so good. We came in on a cold snowy day, and immediately felt the warmth of fresh coffee and sweet fluffy crepes. We also got a croissant sandwich which was one of our favorite breakfast foods lately. The owner, George, was so friendly, and we spent a while just chatting to him about shared interests and family life.If you’re looking for a welcoming place to enjoy some great food, yummy coffee, and where you’re supporting a small business instead of a corporation, Maillard is for you. Worth the drive even from Long Island. We’ll be back soon!“
“I just stumbled upon this cute little shop & I’m obsessed! Great customer service and treats! I can’t wait to be back and try the espresso. The owner is so lovely - gave me a free espresso cupcake so I can give it a try! It was yummy “
“Spacious and airy cafe with more than just baked good options. Great for a place to catch-up with friends or solo walk in for self contemplation. Plenty of tables for a casual sit-in. I had a croissant, which was on the dry flaky side but the chicken sandwich I had was decent. It was filling and checked off the boxes for a tasty lunch, chased by an iced latte to go.“
“Impressed by the consistent quality and exceptional service, Toast & Roast has become my ultimate local go-to bagel spot. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, making every visit a delightful experience. Now, let’s talk about the food – it’s nothing short of fantastic. My personal favorite is the Astoria Special on a whole wheat everything bagel. However, I’ve ventured through their menu enough to confidently say that you can’t go wrong with any choice you make.If you’re on the lookout for a bagel shop that combines exceptional quality with outstanding service, Toast & Roast is the place to be. Highly recommended!“
“My favorite coffee shop! The sweetest lady owns and runs this adorable shop with homemade pastries that are to die for. A peaceful cafe that is perfect for catching up with a friend. Such a welcoming atmosphere - would choose this cafe over every other in the area. (Don’t forget to try the delicious Jalapeño cheddar scone or turkey bacon cheddar buns)“
“Quick and easy to grab a nice dessert after a meal. The ambiance is wonderful. A very vibrant environment for sure. The dessert options at the various Prince tea locations are great. Definitely check this place out if you are in the flushing area and looking for a dessert place!“
“i went here last friday and bought a plain bagel with cream cheese, and it was really good. the cafe itself was nice and clean and the staff were really nice.however, the bagel i had didn't seem fresh or made there, it was similar to those bagels you can buy in variety from a super market :(.i'd still go again though, thank you!!“
“Plain and simple coffee spot. Modern vibe and cool plants. They have decaf options which is nice. We had an oat milk latte and a cold brew and split a quiche. All were yummy and the staff was super friendly. They have a little vintage rack of clothes and cute hats with kinship on them. Dog friendly, kiddo friendly, in general happy spot.“
“Some friends brought us over to Comfortland for brunch and it was a fun experience. Ordering at the window is a neat, unique experience. We decided to eat inside. It's quite a loaded menu. Some items seemed so over-the-top, but they're not as crazy as they first appear. I landed on The Old Boy. Flavors were delicious, and oversized, but not too unwieldy. The only thing that threw me a little was I couldn't tell if the meat was ground beef or thinly sliced meat that was chopped SUPER fine because of how small the pieces were. For a drink, I got a malted cold brew. I've had other malted coffees and this didn't disappoint. Right up there with the best ones.“
“Excellent in all its aspects, the only thing is that the place is a little small, but this does not really matter nor does it affect the quality of their products, the service is very good and fast, especially Annie's attention ?Thai Milk Tea recommended“
“Love the atmosphere, the staff are friendly and well-mannered. I had to get a place to stop by to settle some matters only, ended up ordering not only the latte, I had the yummy sweet and spicy friend chickens! ☺️. The staff did a good job in recommending drinks and foods! Kudos to the team! Will definitely go again the next time when I visit Flushing! ??????????“
“Hands down best coffee in NYCDietary restrictions: Vegan options, both for milks and treats. Non-nuts options.Kid-friendliness: My daughter is welcome to run around the shop. It’s still a roastery so not kid friendly in terms of baby proofing, but surely a wonderful place. Also parent friendly - there’s a window to order from the outside if you’re in a rush!“
“Family-owned local shop with very welcoming atmosphere, excellent quality. A large array of coffee choices and special flavors, each made by hand, as well as a selection of toasted sandwiches, also handmade from fresh ingredients. The staff are warm and friendly, and the mother/daughter team who do most of the work are absolutely adorable. Can’t say enough about this place!Vegetarian options: Most of the sandwiches have meat, but there are veggie options. None of the coffee drinks have meat in them.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps into front door. Open space in the interior, and approachable tables for dining in.“
“My first time at the shop. I went with my former roommate to catch up and was pleasantly surprised that there are still places in the city that have high quality coffee products and even higher quality service. The staff was friendly and professional. Coffee was amazing. Definitely the spot for a quick pick me up shot while on the way through a busy life as well as the place to sit down and relax, alone or with friends.“
“Very convenient location..Perfect spot for enjoying a cup of coffee..I ordered the crunch dessert and it was delicious!..loved it..it was a Nutella dream come true..but we also ordered the tiramisu and that was disappointing..the coffee powder was thick instead of a light coat so the first bites tended to be dry..there was a cream colored swirl topping that we thought was a soft cream..it wasn't..it was hard and very bland tasting..tiramisu wasn't worth the price..“
“The food pastries and coffees are great and since this cafe is near my college I don’t mind coming here but it’s literally so expensive. A sandwich and a coffee can run you up to like 20$ which is just insane. But other than everything being over priced this is a really nice spot. It’s clean and the staff are nice“
“Beautiful space and friendly staff. We were welcomed by very polite and courteous gentleman and even though we didn’t have a reservation (we didn’t know we needed one) they were able to accommodate us with no hesitation. Giovanni offered us nice drinks and tea along with a delicious shisha. She was very helpful when we had questions about flavors and was very attentive during the time we were there. Will definitely come back. Only thing to note is that if you enjoy a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, try to go on the earlier part of the afternoon/night as it gets louder and feels more like a nightclub later in the evening.Vegetarian options: Dry nuts and French fries“
