“I don’t usually write reviews, but this is easily the BEST SUSHI I’ve had in Toronto. I normally dine in, but because it’s so busy on Fridays and weekends, I ordered takeout and WOW. “This has to be one of the best stops for Fish & Chips in the city. I had one piece of halibut and chips. It was a very large portion of fish - which justified the higher price for the meal. I certainly felt that I had received good value. It was not over battered and it was still light and crispy. I asked for well done chips and that's exactly how they came. “I went for a quick meal in mid-afternoon. I had the lamb and chicken combo which came with a side of green salad and rice. I chose not to have the rice. To my surprise I was I was charged less than what the price stated on the menu. The chicken and the lamb were both tender and spiced just right. I was very impressed by the quality of the food - fresh, clean and very tasty. For a quick and inexpensive meal, I highly recommend Afghan Cuisine on Overlea Blvd.”

I appreciate firstly and foremostly the way everything was packed so neatly, clean and tidy, edible and safely... Secondly, I was surprised to find that the portions were heavily packed and generous 😇 in the offerings 🫴... Mom and I ate half of our fish and chips each, the haddock with the fries, coleslaw and tarter sauce... I also very much appreciate the cutlery, stapled paperbag marked (8lbs) knowing 😄 👌 😉 I'm getting more than enough and for the Uber driver to handle with care due to the weight which he did... The meal was special, tasty, tantalizing our taste buds, while we watched a Michael Jackson documentary... A spectacular feast... Could serve 4 persons instead of 2 or like mom and I we will have the rest tomorrow again for dinner 🍽 😋...

I loved the Baklava Cheesecake, which was perfectly sweet and flaky, an awesome combination. The Tyropita was so tasty with its strong cheese flavor, and it was also perfectly flaky. Even the Hot Chocolate was delicious creamy, sweet, and chocolaty. While café mocha was a bit too sweet, the overall experience was PERFECT.”

“This is a gem. The owner, Fen, serves you and she's very warm, friendly and accommodating. I'm the kind of patron servers try to avoid because I always want to switch ingredients. Only broccoli and mushroom with my bean curd? No problem! Normally a place will just leave out the other ingredients and not compensate for their absence, but clearly, as the photo shows, it's not how they operate here.

Most of their business is take out, so the place has been exceptionally quiet every time I've come, which is nice. The menu is well organized and easy to navigate.

The pricing is very reasonable and the portions are quite large, but on top of everything the food texture is appropriately firm (not mushy, like some places... You actually need to chew your broccoli here!) and the flavor is excellent.”

The very friendly proprietor told us it isn't worth his while to try to serve meals during the pandemic. The espresso was very good, however.”

Sometimes it's great, and sometimes it's horrible. Not for Leaside, however. “My husband and I stopped by Aroma Espresso Bar recently and had such a lovely experience. We ordered a couple of mochas and sat out on the patio — it was a beautiful day, and the outdoor space made it even better. The patio is really well-kept, with fresh flowers and comfortable furniture that made it feel cozy and inviting.

Inside, the café is very clean and bright, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We also tried a couple of their pastries, which were fresh and delicious — a perfect pairing with our drinks.

All in all, it was a really relaxing and enjoyable visit. We’ll definitely be back!”
