“The independent store has its own patio and the dining area is on the second floor, which is comfortable and quiet. Rice rolls and porridge are both quick-to-eat delicacies and must be eaten while hot to retain their delicious taste.Except for the signature soy sauce king beef intestines, the pork loin intestines are also good. There are a lot of pork loin, not stingy at all, freshly cooked and tender, and taste great! The beef brisket rice rolls are also delicious. The beef brisket is stewed soft and tasty. The slippery rice rolls are soaked in pork belly juice and full of the flavor of childhood.“
“Kwan Specialty is part of the Kwan Dim Sum Chinese Restaurants family. There’s 2 or 3 restaurant locations left in the GTA. The one in Scarborough Towne Centre closed down during the pandemic. The difference with Kwan Specialty, it’s not a restaurant. It’s a place to buy teas, frozen dim sum, pickup limited amount of cakes, pastries, cookies and imported snacks. There’s a Wedding Corner, if you want party favours. They even sell chilli oil and xo sauce for your dim sum.At the centre is a cozy sitting area where you can drink tea and eat pastries. BTW, they don’t heat your frozen dim sum on site, and there’s no washroom facilities to use.Spend $50, you can pay using your credit card. But if you pay cash, you get a $5 voucher on your next purchase. If you spend $100 either cash or credit card you get a free gift. It’s a cake cutter/server with 4 matching small forks.Surprisingly, they sell party trays enough to feed 4-5 people, but you need to preorder ahead of time.I like their assortment of frozen foods and dim sum. Each one is labelled with cooking instructions. They even have a vegetarian section. This is a great place for seniors to come and get their food supply for the week. Only issue is there’s no push or wave button automatic door openers for people with mobility issues. Update: There is a push button, but not working at my 2nd visit back.Luckily, they do delivery on specific days and locations for those seniors and anyone in general. There’s a pull up banner sign near the front door with further details or call them. You can order online.Shopping bags are extra.Employees are friendly and can speak in English fluently. It’s in a great location as it almost shares the same parking lot as Costco and a Chinese Restaurant.“
“I visited this place for the first time and loved everything I bought (soup buns and dumplings). The skin of the soup buns were so thin and silky, and once steamed, SO GOOD. We fried the dumplings and they too were filled with soup. I would highly recommend getting multiple bags!!“
“Excellent quality frozen dim sum. I wasn't overly adventurous, just buying haw gow, siu mai, and char siu bao. All steamed up perfectly at home. The first two were $4.99/order and the bao were $3.99. Honestly, I was really happy with everything.“
“My days, the food was sooo good and was ready quickly. I got the spicy beef noodle and the beef was so soft and well made We also got these delicious sesame balls as complimentary dessert. We placed our orders easily with an iPad that was given to our table. It was quiet upstairs and had a calm, dark ambience. My friends and I had an amazing time.“
“Fu Kee is our go to place for frozen Dim sum. They are tasty. There are a great variety of dim sum at this place. This time I spent $100 to feed 6 people with almost half was left over. The amount we bought can easily feed 12 people. Good value in today's environment.“
“This is one really busy dim sum restaurant! We waited an hour and a half to be seated for 3 people on a weekend. Best time to come is probably at the morning and lunch rush! However this is a testament to the place. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Service was speedy. Everything we ordered although not encompassed in the pictures was highly recommended - especially the baked pork buns, cha siu and scallop dumplings“
“Great spot for low key and traditional dim sum. Unlike the typical banquet style dim sum halls, Tak Fu is more reminiscent of a local tea house restaurant. They've been around for decades and their dim sum is quite good. We appreciate that they use pork in dim sum whereas most spots are now using chicken (e.g. in siu mai).Highly recommend getting the baked pastry filled with minced pork. It was baked to order, super fresh and tasty. The other dim sum are solid too.Really friendly and polite servers.“
“Amazing vegetarian Chinese food in Scarborough! Lots of selections and creative dishes. Great family friendly atmosphere with lovely staff. I've been taking my parents and vegetarian friends here for years! If you're coming here for dimsum it's best to make reservations ahead of time as it gets quite busy.“
“Large hot pot restaurant offering a large selection of meat, seafood and vegetables. Most food is ordered through the QR code menu. They have some snacks, salads and fruits that are self serve in the middle of the restaurant along with sauces. The food tastes good and is fresh. I wish it came in smaller portions, so that I could try more selection. Some tables allow for a shared pot, whereas others have individual pots.I'm giving them 5 stars because they currently have a 30% discount when you pay with cash or debit. Otherwise I'd give this place 4 stars normally.“
“Really great experience. Got in quickly on a Sunday even though it was quite busy! The food was fantastic - the best beef rice rolls I’ve had (the coriander was a nice touch) and the fried noodles with beansprouts were also a big hit. We will be back! We also ordered crystal shrimp har gow and beef ribs - they were good, and the chiu chow dumplings were interesting - I liked the crunch from the peanuts.“
“LOVE the food and service at this small neighborhood spot. Please be aware that the dining area is tiny and far from fancy, but the quality of the homemade food and the friendliness of the service more than compensates. Their homemade dim sum is divine and I’ve recently discovered that their Shanghai noodles are EPIC.“
“Yum, yum. Great if you have a party that wants different types of asian cuisine. I love that they seem to have a little bit of everything (i.e. chines, korean, japanese etc.) We ordered delivery from here and it travelled well. I love their onion pancakes - something I don't see often. Also their sesame balls, sweet and sour chicken and shanghai noodles. Would love to check out the restaurant in person too.“
“Excellent dimsum in an expansive spot at Metro Square. Can get busy especially on weekends but tables seem to come by quickly. Pretty good value for the quality of the dimsum dishes. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Accepts cash and even credit, one of the few dimsum places that accepts credit cards.“
“The Beef Baos were filling and had good value proposition; really affordable. The Baos we’re really juicy inside. The filling could be improved from my experience. It’s literally a meatball inside the bao; tasty but didn’t expect the fillings to be compressed into a ball.Parking: Municipal parking. $3 per hour“
“I have to say that what made my experience at this restaurant so memorable today was the customer service. NEVER in all the years of dining with my family in Toronto have I ever experienced such unforgettable service!! I have had such a bad experience at many of the Chinese restaurants we've been to that I often expect service to be mediocre if not semi at par. Through the years I've been conditioned to just accept that good food, good prices in Chinese restaurants normally come with passable service. This time was an entirely different feel. So different and so positive that I mentioned it on several occasions to my aunt who is born and raised in HK. She confidently said that since I was so impressed, she was sure our family would return in the near future. As for the food, I enjoyed it very much but felt their sucking pig dish to be far too fatty for my liking. I enjoyed how they stir fried our sugar peas and I honestly enjoyed the Peking duck best. I would say that the lobster also disappoint.Overall this has been a wonderful experience and I look forward to dining here again soon. This restaurant has renewed my faith the service in Chinese restaurants“
“Good food and a few extra dim sum items that are not your usual items. Go and sit in the ballroom section as bigger area. Don't go at Chinese new year....all wait staff and servers makes a gross display of wedging in at the tables so they can get red packet with money. I understand if they are regular staff that know you but qe even had wait staff coming back twice for money. They stand at the tables and hang out waiting for the red pockets while you are eating. A big turn off when you are having a family gathering. Probably 2 out of 10 that come by are familiar to us. Quite disgusting. One staff came twice.“
