“The indonesian fried rice & sweet soy sauce noodles with shrimp & chicken were so delicious! I'll definitely be back. The ambiance was good too. Only thing that knocked it to 4 stars was the restroom. There wasn't a baby changing station in the women's restroom and the floor looked pretty dirty. The curry beef was ok, the texture of the beef wasn't the best, pretty chewy. The server was polite and food came out decently quick for being authentic indo cuisine.“
“Atmosphere was quite and cozy seated quickly to a nice big booth food came out fresh/hot (20mins no complaints there) generous portions size service was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu and new specials entrees . Overall had a nice experience.Vegetarian options: Sushi, fish, soups and rice options to choose fromParking: In Kroger shopping center lot of available spots“
“The evening duo they got with the manager J and the server Jerry was phenomenal!!!!First the server was super Friendly and second the manager was very knowledgeable.... Like ,Wow ?? That curry chicken shrimp was delish, thank you Jerry for that suggestion. That crab puff pairing was really the best add on from the manger“
“When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. It did take our server to get to us a good 10 minutes before talking and telling us what the concept and food recommendations were. The setting of the restaurant is clean, and airy due to the sun room setting on one side of the restaurant. To start us off, we did some drinks that were good but did not find any favourites. The two cold starters were: Hamachi Yuzu: 2/5 because the yuzu yoghurt was overpowering and the kombu powder left a sandy grit texture on the teeth that made it almost annoying to eat. Could barely taste the hamachi. Madai Carpaccio: 1/5 because the crunchy togarashi and black sesame soy sauce enveloped the Madai and the saucy component was too strong to complement the fish. Oyster with caviar was fresh and briny. Very tasty. 5/5. Would recommend avoiding the cold starters besides the oysters and moving straight to the nigiri and hot components of the menu. From the nigiri portion, we ordered: Hotate, salmon, gizzard shad, akami, amaebi and madai. Fresh, fatty, flavoursome cuts of delicious fish. Definitely recommend, 5/5. Also, tried the Olive A5 wagyu nigiri with black truffle and it was unctuous and absolute yum! From their hot portion, we got the baby back ribs, iberico shumai, and lobster with sake miso. The baby back ribs were falling off the bone, tender and seasoned to perfection. The shumai was good with a pipette of ponzu sauce. The lobster was rich, not overcooked and the panko with the miso sake lent it a Mac and cheese-esque quality to it. Would definitely get these again. For dessert go the Japanese melon which was sweet and juicy and had none of the chemical aftertaste that is found in the fruits here in the states. The green tea kakigori was airy and light. Usually not a fan of red bean ice cream or desserts but this one came with a really nice red bean ice cream. Would have liked the portion to be more to balance out the shaved ice. Overall it was a great time! Price wise it was affordable for the amount of food we ordered.“
“If I could give more stars I absolutely would. This place is located in a strip mall looking area but inside is amazing. Beautiful ambiance and seriously fantastic service at totally affordable prices. Wine was a little pricey though. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the vegan soba salad and mango sorbet. We also tried the mango shaved ice which was phenomenal.Vegetarian options: Not as many options as I would have expected.Dietary restrictions: Not many dairy free options.Parking: Parking lot that severes the strip is very accessible. We had no trouble finding a spot right in front.“
“We booked a reservation. Highly recommend, just in case there’s a long wait. First time at this location. It was clean. Food was good! We had Alex as our waiter. He was great. Very attentive and friendly. Our favorites were the garlic noodles, bistro hanger steak, and the steamed dumplings. The meat lovers special wasn’t a bad deal at all. Will definitely be coming back to this location.“
“This was a lot of fun! The experience from start to finish was delightful, imaginative and intimate. The food was on point and very elevated as expected at this price point. The service was fantastic, as the setup allows for the chef to have plenty of interaction with the guests and Chef Marcos was very engaging and enthusiastic about explaining the different techniques, fish and his own sushi history with us as we dined. My wife and I are no novices to sushi, omakase or tasting menus in general and this experience was both unique and memorable. I should note the restaurant is BYOB, they did share a sake shot welcome cheers for everyone and the passion fruit mocktail was excellent.“
“Great place for Peruvian food and date nightI definitely recommend the Lomo saltado and the ceviche also their drink I forget the name was super good. It's their top recommended drinkI tried the Lomo with mac n cheese to try something different but I prefer the original as I thought the mac n cheese was a bit too heavy“
“All the employees are really friendly and helpful, especially Rome, who's very genuine and natural with customers. Love the water view on the patio, they have good shade and heaters for cold weather. The Poke is pretty standard, but good. The grapefruit green tea is delicious, though maybe on the small side if you're expecting the usual boba spot's 20-oz-ers. Their prices aren't too bad for poke, honestly a bit lower than some places I've been recently, and I'd expect to pay a lot more for a place with a waterside patio and bar, so a pretty good deal tbhVegetarian options: Edamame, avocado, and tofu are great vegetarian protein options“
“We went to Roka to celebrate a new job! It's one of the date night/special occasion spots in our rotation. The ambiance and decor is nice, service is great, but the food really steals the show. Top tier! Everything I've had is phenomenal!! The crispy fried squid, Robata grilled octopus, and sweet corn you MUST try. All AMAZING. The cheesecake desert is insane, completely delicious. To be honest though everything we have had there is good. The prime ribeye, the sushi rolls, the pork belly, the wagyu beef dumplings, and the yuzu miso black cod, yellowtail are all amazing and in rotation. Also If you enjoy a cocktail they have this Margarito with Tajin that is solid! I'm picky so not easy to please. Roka is top tier.“
“Went on a Wednesday for all day Happy Hour with some friends. Had beer, wine and the omakase - this is an excellent spot, the service was impeccable even at the bar.Drinks were kept flowing, the sushi and the oysters on the omakase were to DIE for. I live in the area so super nice to have a great sushi place nearby.Highly recommend taking advantage of the HH here. Can’t wait to come back!“
“The food here is absolutely delightful and flavorful. The ambiance is incredible, perfect for a date. The service is punctual and the staff takes pride in describing the meal. Every aspect of the dining experience is described with precision. The kitchen is constantly working on masterpiece after masterpiece. Overall, the experience is delightful and the desserts are killer. Not one staff seemed out of place and constantly kept the momentum of the restaurant moving.“
“Manny was our server for a surprise bday party of 12 guest! He was able to provide great service and very attentive to our needs especially with such a large group! Many of our friends were new to SOPO and they all loved it as much as we did! Will come back again soon!“
“Love how Neo pays attention to the smallest details to ensure a fine dining experience. The staff were attentive and respectful, Chef was knowledgeable and talented, and food was incredible. We went on 3/4/24 for the Sushi Omakase and our favorites were Masu, Madai Crudo, Maitake, and the Maguro Handroll. Highly recommend!“
“My coworker raved about Suki Sushi last month after trying it for the first time. When she told me that she'd be going there regularly since she lived in the area, I knew I would have to try it. At this point, I've gone to Suki Sushi three times already -- once to dine-in, and twice for takeout. I was never disappointed, and I would still visit if I'm ever in the area again! ** Food: 8/10 ** On my first visit, I tried a bento box (with teriyaki beef, California roll, and tempura), red snapper nigiri, and a spicy scallop hand roll. My favorite thing about the bento is that I can customize what 3 entrees I want in it, so I don't have to worry about ending up with something I don't want. * Teriyaki beef (10/10): This was amazing! I could taste that there was a slight char to the beef for an extra kick of flavor, which most other Japanese restaurants do not do with their teriyaki. I could eat this everyday, honestly. * California roll (??/10): I personally don't like this kind of roll, so I didn't eat any of it. My boyfriend ate all if of though, and he didn't have any criticisms. * Tempura (9/10): I love that the batter used for tempura here is not as heavy. It tastes lighter and a more airy, so to speak. I don't feel as bad after eating several pieces. * Red snapper nigiri (5/10): The fish was a bit bland for some reason. There was neither freshness nor brinyness to it, and I have no idea how this could be. * Spicy scallop hand roll (10/10): If you like spicy, this is definitely something to try! The hand roll is a good size, and there's plenty of scallop so that you don't feel skimped out on the price. For my second visit, I ordered a bento box as takeout. This time, I had to get the teriyaki beef again. It was just so good! Other items I got were: * Sashimi (7/10): The cuts weren't that big, and I felt neutral about the taste of each fish piece. I was neither impressed nor disappointed. * Chicken katsu (9/10): The chicken cutlet was huge! The texture was near perfection -- crispy and not dry inside. My only issue with the katsu was that too much sauce was drizzled on top of it. I would have preferred the sauce to be packaged separately for takeout, both to maintain the crispiness better and to also allow me some control on how much sauce I want on the cutlet. For my third visit, I didn't try any new items and just created another bento box with a mix of previous items that I liked~ ** Service: 10/10 ** The owner is very nice, efficient with sushi rolls, and full of smiles and warmth. I can tell he cares a lot about his business and whether or not his customers are having a good time eating the food there. The other worker I saw was a lady who waited and handled takeout orders. She was an absolute delight, and she also offered her own recommendations on what was good. ** Ambiance: 10/10 ** The restaurant isn't too big, but the atmosphere is very cozy and comforting. You can sit comfortably and not have to worry about too much excessive noise, and the decor is easy on the eyes. I found the utensil box on the tables very cute and a nice touch too! There's a fork, spoon, and pair of chopsticks inside -- although I wonder why they have chopsticks in there while also providing chopsticks outside of it?“
“Ten Sushi Cocktails in Houston delivers a top-notch dining experience, made even better by the exceptional service of waitress Stephanie. Her expertise in describing the menu and recommending top-selling sushi and entrees added a delightful touch to our evening, ensuring we enjoyed every bite. Stephanie's attentiveness and knowledge made our visit truly memorable. Highly recommend Ten for both the food and the service!“
“I use to visit this restaurant before covid. Back in the area I was surprised to see it still operating...thankful as this place is awesome great food and quick service if you get there early. Local like most places in this area serves excellent sushi. “
“The food was very good. Nice slices of fish to rice ratio on the nigiri. The rolls were also very fresh and not much rice either which is nice. The tempura vegetables were great, fresh and fried to perfection. I was impressed with the service too. Andrea was our waitress and she was very attentive. The food came out quickly event though there were busy, we got there at 1pm on a Monday after Easter. Keep in mind Fort Bend schools were out, this definitely contributed to the crowd. The restaurant was clean and nice as normal. We will be going back.“
“Food is always excellent & we always have a good time. My daughter put me on to hot pot & it's my go to now whenever I want to treat myself. The food at the buffet is always fresh & there is always plenty to select from. The cuts of meat are high quality & taste great. The only negatives I have is feeling pressured by wait staff to get more meat while myself & my party are still working on what we have. Again, pressure by waitstaff to flip the table asap when I am still eating or digesting.“
“This is my second time here and it was even better than the first time. The service is shockingly fast and very friendly. The quality and quantity of the rolls and sashimi could very well be the best in town. And wow the prices are so affordable, this place is unbeatable! Well maybe the ambiance isn’t bougie enough for fancy folks but if you actually want the best sushi in town give Matsu a shot.“
“I'm a vegetarian and even I enjoyed the all you can eat experience. They have a couple veggie rolls but also have vegetarian fried rice, miso soup, tempura, and a couple different tofu dishes to select from. Service was excellent and food was delicious for AYCE“
“We really enjoyed the food at Aya. The sushi dishes are unique enough to distinguish itself from our regular sushi haunts. From the crudo dishes, the tempura, the nigiri, and even the dessert were all very enjoyable. We'll definitely be coming back. What we really enjoyed:Salmon tatami (crudo)Amberjack nigiriKing mushroom401 makiMomo MakiCauliflower tempuraMiso apple pie with ice cream to finish it off!“
“I’m writing this review a little late. I went in In December with my sister and her friends and tried their broth noodles. We each loved our own choice of soup. I got the ‘kakuni’ it has a salty taste to it which I like when paired with the noodles. My sister got the ‘Niku niku’ this has a flavorful broth. It reminded me a lot of the Vietnamese pho. When I came back with my friends after January I got the ‘mentako cream’ (I think I spelled that wrong) with katsu. I liked the cold noodles, but the noodles weren’t very filling (I could have just been really hungry). The broths were more filling and are still my favorite.“
“Went for our sons birthday on a Friday night and glad it wasn't busy. The place was small and cozy. Sushi and food was fresh and really good. Food came out quick and service was really nice. They got nice lunch specials and all day happy hour. We'll definitely be back.“
“We ate in restaurant and ordered to go while in Houston. In restaurant great experience sushi very fresh with great options. To go took a little to long. I waited in lobby for 20 minutes for my to go even though I had ordered 30 minutes before. Parking is good. While food was exceptional the to go orders need to get it together. Good happy hour.“
“They only have one vegetarian roll on the menu, but you can ask the chef for another roll and they’ll make it on the spot for you! It was so delicious, and the vibes are really nice especially more so as you step into the hidden bar where you’ll see why they calm it Norigami if you look up.“
“The new AYCE menu is a sweet deal and offers super high beef while costing a fair amount of money. Without the AYCE option, it ends up costing too much to feel full here. I like the location being away from main Chinatown area as it has become too crowded and stressful on Bellaire. Would return to Shabu Squared as I was very pleased with the quality and service!“
“Excellent food and prices. Their business model is really only bottlenecked by how slow their waiters are. It takes forever to turn over the tables and get people off the waitlist if it takes 10 mins to get someone’s check. If they switched to counter serve they’d probably make even more money“
“Iwa Ya on Bellaire Blvd hit the spot for lunch today! The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was quick and friendly. We dove into their delicious spider roll, savoring the fresh ingredients and perfect texture. The katsudon was another winner, with its crispy pork cutlet and flavorful sauce. Even the miso and corn chowder soup impressed, offering a warm and comforting start to the meal. And to top it off, the prices were reasonable! Highly recommend Iwa Ya for a satisfying and enjoyable lunch experience.“
“The Spicy Ramen had really great flavor. The pork Katsu was very tasty and went well the the ramen and curry sauce. The chicken katsu with white rice was amazing. The service was very friendly and the wait was minimal. I highly recommend this place.“
“I enjoyed a filling, tasty pork katsu bento box here on a Friday evening. For around $16, the bento box came with crispy pork katsu, curry, rice, potato salad, shrimp tempura, fried veggies, and California rolls. There was a generous amount of crunchy, breaded pork katsu, which was deliciously paired with curry and rice. The California rolls were a hit also, with plenty of imitation crab meat. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall in Sugarland with plenty of parking, and the restaurant itself looks newly renovated. Service was prompt despite a busy evening. Overall, I would recommend this place looking for a tasty meal in the area.“
“Our favorite sushi place in Meyerland! We go here so often that the staff know what we’re gonna order lol. Nemo roll is amazing. We also usually share a sushi/sashimi bento box substituting extra tempura instead of rice. The cocktails we’ve had are really good, especially the lychee. Also the tiger eye roll, New Orleans roll, and jalapeño roll.“
“General Description:A traditional Japanese restaurant. They have booths and a sushi bar.The space is on the smaller side. The good:- Tonkatsu Ramen: Broth was a bit different than most Japanese style ramen. I don't like fatty/heavy broth base. This one was on the lighter side.- Yellowtail sashimi was on the fresher side. The bad:- Chicken was rubbery.- Broccoli was overcooked.- Wasabi mix was watered down.Overall:Worth trying.“
“This is honestly one of my top ramen places that I've tried in Houston. I had heard that the ramen here is very authentic, so I had to try it out for myself. I came here on a week night for dinner, and unfortunately, they were a bit understaffed. There appeared to be only one server for all of the tables, so it did take a while for him to take our order. I'm writing this review a few months later from when I tried this restaurant, so I hope that has changed now. He was very friendly though. I tried the tonkotsu gachi ramen. It was VERY delicious and flavorful. It didn't feel overly heavy like some other ramen places that I've tried. I can say that this does taste pretty authentic. I like the location of this place too because I live around here, and it's easy access for people around the medical center to go to. I hope this place stays here for a while! I would absolutely come back.“
“I've come to eat here multiple times with my family. We love the bento boxes, the sushi, and the warm sake. The spicy crawfish, the Houston, the Black Pearl, and the Eel Roll were delicious when we went today. You can never order the wrong thing. I'd go all the time if it wasn't a bit expensive. Definitely a place for special occasions, tho!!!“
“Really want to give this a 1 star so the preppy wealth people don't ruin this gem, but God daa-mmn (two syllables) this place is effing fantastic. Please don't go and make this place popular and ruin it for me. Stay away! I love this place and don't want to have to wait for a table in the future.STAY... AWAY...Please, I need all the sushi and miso for me.DON'T GO.(sorry Hokkaido for the mixed review, you are SO GOOD and I am SO SELFISH)To my priest, John Patrick, "forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I used the Lord's name in vain, cursed, and told lies on the Internet... But, in a small defense, Jesus Christ himself never had sushi and miso soup like what is happening in this place."To my mother: "this post is completely out of character." And, "Yes ma'am."To the people who work at Hokkaido, ::applause:: "you effing geniuses! You did it!"To Google, "can we add a golden sixth star that can be used once per account? Please? They earned it."“
“Update: Thanks for your prompt feedback. I edited the post and give 4 stars for your nice gesture of following up on the review. I like your restaurant. Will be back when the Chef comes back.“Did you change the chef or the chef went vacation? If he or she does, please let me know when they came back. The broth tastes different. More salty than it used to be. Order 2 togo BBH. Missing basils and mints in my bag of vegetable. Server was polite. ““
“I recently dined at Sasaki Japanese Restaurant in Houston, Texas, and it was an absolute delight! The food was exceptional, Here are some highlights:*Flavorful Sushi and Sashimi: The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had authentic Japanese flavors.*Intimate Atmosphere: Sasaki is a cozy little gem tucked away on Westheimer Road. The intimate ambiance adds to the overall experience. It’s perfect for a quiet dinner or a special occasion.*Attentive Service: The staff at Sasaki went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. From recommendations to timely service, they truly cared about our satisfaction.I wholeheartedly recommend Sasaki. It’s a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.“
“After spending hours in NRG watching rodeo, we were so hungry and found a nearby restaurant named Taro. It was really great to have meal there, including sushi and drink. We enjoyed the ramen and all you can eat. The old guy waiter was very nice and humorous. I liked him. Very good service.“
“Before going to the Houston rodeo, I stopped by to park my car and get something to eat. My friend found out that this restaurant opens at 11:00am. But the shop owner welcomed us from 10:30am. The food tastes good. The shrimp tempura in particular came out really well. The food is served quickly and continuously. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and comfortable. My only complaint is that I thought the sushi was a bit small.“
“I love Ramen Noodles & born & raised in New Orleans we ❤️it so when I started working @ MD Anderson. In the Medical Center I put Uber Eats on my phone & so I tried this Restaurant & Babyyyyyy when I tell u I've bed. Hooked every since then So today is Ramen Noodles day so since Zi have had it in some months I decided to get it before work this place is A is A Gem I could eat it everyday it's Delicious back home we would call this place A Hole in the wall but it's worth every penny I give it A 5 ⭐!!!“
“This place is absolutely amazing for celebrating our most special occasions with our big family! The food here is unbelievably delicious. The servers are incredibly sweet and kind, going above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. And guess what? The prices are super affordable, so you can indulge in fantastic food and receive outstanding service without breaking the bank. It's a total win-win situation!Oh, and let me tell you about the weekdays happy hour. It is absolutely worth it! From 5pm to 7pm and again from 9pm, you can enjoy some incredible deals that will make your evenings even more delightful.“
“By far the best sushi spot we have been to. Me and my two boys visited this spot and have nothing but good to say. Everything was freshly made, fast, and our guy “Tony” was on point with his recommendations. Definitely coming back here when we’re back in “
“We managed to sneak in on a Wednesday a few minutes before happy hour ended and they were kind enough to do last call for us. Decently large selection of dishes, LOTs of roll options. The happy hour is from 12-6 pm so a huge window as I learned. As the other reviews say the portion of fish is well sized and way better quality than I was expecting. The roll we got was delicious (I'm blanking on the name) but had spicy salmon inside and white tuna on top. We also got some chicken karaage which was not my favorite due to the texture. Not super crispy like a traditional karaage dish usually is. But the rest of what we got was very good. I think I have a new bang for your buck sushi place close to home.I would definitely wanna come during HH so I can try more things out.Service was okay, but our servers were very nice. The restaurant is large and has your standard table and booth seating.“
“I recently visited this karaoke spot and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. While the initial impression might suggest it's not the cleanest place, the food truly shines and surprises with each dish. I found the prices to be reasonable for the quality and variety they offer. The service provided by the staff, particularly the attentive and helpful ladies, was excellent. Additionally, the operating hours are convenient for this city. Overall, despite any initial reservations, I had a great time and would recommend it for a fun night out.“
“Forgot how amazing some of the food here is. Used to come here for years for lunch.Skip the ramen. It’s not their best effort. The tempura is all incredible and not oily, the sushi is high quality and fresh, the fried rice is awesome, and the atmosphere is small and cozy. Definitely going to come here more often“
“This is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. It is definitely our favorite version of a volcano roll. My wife and I highly recommend visiting this location. Try the Red Bean mochi ice cream. We prefer it over mango or strawberry. It will surprise you.If you have a big group, this location only has booth seating for four and a bar top. Do carpool as the stripmall has limited parking and many businesses.“
“Ramen had a rich and balanced broth, noodles absorbed flavors beautifully. Bowl was aesthetically pleasing, and the colors and textures added visual appeal. Ambiance of the restaurant complemented the experience comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Staff attentive and friendly, quick and efficient service added to the positive aspects of the establishment!“
“What can I say this place is amazing!! The fusion of Latin and Asian foods work so well. The service was outstanding and fast. We tried a few items off the menu that were recommended by our awesome waiter Johnathan. The beef tostadas and the tres leche were my number one choices. The crab Rangoon and seaweed salad was so tasty. There were a variety of sushi options and they were great and fresh. Honestly everything was so beyond words we will be returning soon. If you looking for a great meal and good service I would check them out.“
“Great Tasting Sushi. If you haven't been, you have been missing out! I definitely recommend this restaurant (especially on the weekends for HH).They menu is very big so get ready to eat!We had the Pan Fried Gyoza with garlic sauce it was absolutely delicious. Nicely cooked with a tasty crisp. Must Try!The Shaggy Dog - Great recommendation and that spicy mayo just add that extra taste and flavor. The Las Vegas Roll - Great Tasting, cooked nicely, and the sauces complemented the sushi roll very wellYummy Yummy wasn't as yummy, but it wasn't bad.We will definitely be returning again! Thank you, Sushi Monster“
