“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

I had a blast selecting (at random, but nothing disappointed!) and my friend got the flight to help guide him, which he loved.Food was fine, acceptable, but for the cool environment I would have figured higher grade in the cuisine. Admittedly the snacks/small plates were far higher quality than the main dishes so maybe the intention was to drink and small plate.Service was good, they made sure we had what we needed but I would have loved a bit more enthusiasm for such an amazing collection.Overall great experience and would go again!“
“We are obsessed with Revelers hour! It’s so cozy inside and the food is always delicious - the garlic knots are a must. Great alternative to tail up goat , more food for less price! Our waiter was great at selecting wines for our table. Also good for vegetarians too - plenty of options I could choose from! “A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“

I was craving a little bit of Madrid and while trying to find a restaurant, I stumbled upon this place just a few minutes from my hotel.Right from the first encounter with the manager as I walked in, I knew I was going to like this place.Cristiano and Cristian behind the bar were great. The recommended all those amazing plates. I ended up doing a paella tapa as well as the Argentinian steak with chimichurri paired with a lovely Malbec.Remember, these are tapas, so the plates wont be giant. A couple of plates should get you to where you’d like. And the prices are very reasonable.I definitely recommend this place. “Alice is a nice place for girls night. The ambiance was lovely, low lighting and cute decor. There is a bar with seating for four. Based on other reviews, we made reservations to be on the safe side. It was a rainy Wednesday when we went so there was plenty of seating available. We were greeted and taken to our table immediately. We started with cocktails. The white rabbit is a tequila based cocktail and was quite refreshing. We also ordered the chicken wings and curry puffs as appetizers. We were not a fan of the wings but the curry puffs were amazing! For the entree, I ordered chicken pad thai was very authentic and topped with peanuts and fresh bean sprouts. I really enjoyed this flavorful dish. This is a very intimate spot and the entire staff was attentive to all of the guests. I plan on returning to try more food options and upscale cocktails. Note: There is no parking available in front of establishment. The nearest metered street parking is on S Columbus Street.“

“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“

“My favorite place in the eisenhower area of Alexandria. Wonderful service and food. Great selection of asian beers and lovely cocktails. The fried tofu and kra pow bao appetizers are awesome. The thai iced tea is a great option for n/a. I have tried the red curry ramen (both non and veg and both are fantastic), the kaarage ramen, and gin ramen are wonderful too. The flavors are just right and all the dishes I have tried are not too heavy (well balanced.) The service whether its at the table or the bar is exceptional. The music (asian covers of popular songs) and ambiance are great as well. Highly recommend!“
“The hubby and I came here on Sunday, 3/24/2024, when we arrived the restaurant was basically empty, so we were sat right away and asked where we wanted to sit. Our server brought over water right away and soon after we ordered a California roll (me) and the hubby got one unagi sushi for a dollar (a special). The California roll was fresh, well rolled and really delicious, my husband said the same for the unagi. My husband also got the chicken thigh yakatori for three bucks, it was brought out hot, tender and delicious. For our entrees, we both got Tonkotsu, we added an extra egg and shared it, so we would each have one full egg in our ramen instead of just a half. The Tonkotsu was fire, the broth was hot and buttery, egg perfectly cooked and yolky, the pork was tender and flavorful and overall just great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. One final note, service was great and friendly!“

“We walked into this unassuming neighborhood restaurant in Bethesda after seeing rather positive reviews, and walked out pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, flavorful, but not overwhelmingly seasoned. We loved most of our dishes especially the seafood saffron soup, sautéed shrimp with garlic, octopus, grilled squid, stuffed Portobello mushrooms. Lovely desserts got the flan con naranja and the chocolate mousse cake. Highly recommended.“

“My husband, myself, and our three sons dined here last night. It was a such a wonderful and unique experience from start to finish. We had the pasta paella, the oxtail croquettas, the pork belly bao, the ceviche for dinner. For dessert we had the jelly like pie, the cafecito, and the chocolate and mango/passion fruit ice creams. The music and atmosphere were so dreamy. The decor was so beautifully interlaced together with tropical plants and midcentury modern furniture and fixtures. We will be back on our next trip to the DC area.“

LOVED the ambiance and that was the main star of the visit, service was on point, the food not so much.I got the Salmon Cavlax, my partner got French toast and our friend got the chicken sandwich, I’d say all of us were disappointed in what we got. See the pictures and you be the judge, underwhelming food for the price and for the places reputation with that being said we would give them a second chance for a different menu and see if the experience changes.“

The patatas bravas were absolutely amazing- super crisp with a spicy sauce on top. The yucca/plantain chips were yum and the wings were good (nothing special but great). My friend loved everything she got.“

“I’ve been wanting to go to Cork for years, and never made it in, so I finally made a reservation for a Friday night and I’m so glad that I did. At first I didn’t even know there was an upstairs section, but we were seated upstairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“
“I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Barcelona Wine Bar! We were coming to D.C. to visit our daughter in March and wanted to surprise her for her 30th birthday with a small party at the Cathedral Heights location. In the past, she had spoken very highly of this place, so we told her we would just take her out to dinner there. Not being local, I had to email back and forth many times with Tiana G. who is one of their event planners. Just through the emails I could feel her friendliness and excitement about helping us surprise our daughter that night. Thank you Tiana, for taking care of every detail and for your excellent and timely communication with me (thanks also to DeDee who stepped in to cover for Tiana at one point)! We decided on the $50 pp package which included a great selection of family style tapas, entrees, and desserts which they also customized to accommodate the birthday girl and a few guests who had some dietary restrictions. The food was AMAZING, we all raved about it! Alcohol is not included in any of their packages, but we ordered 4 pitchers of their sangria which was plenty for 8 of us. Our server Samantha was the best! Very friendly and attentive throughout the 3 hours we were there. After telling the waiter three times I would like my steak medium and my partner steak medium rare they couldn’t get that right and when we advise them of their mistake the waiter and the manager both laughed and said o well sorry. I’m not the only one I had a friend that ate here a few weeks ago and told me it went downhill also. So they gave us a $10 discount on a $200 bill“

There are many good options although we often go back to same ones because they are so good - Montaditos, Buey al Jerez, patatas bravas, esparragos, chuleta, veiras, to name just a few. And surprisingly, their prices are reasonable.I highly recommend the pan seared salmon as the salmon is super crispy, while the curry and noodles make an excellent dish. The shredded papaya salad on top gives a nice acidity and crunch to the entire dish and brings it together.I also really enjoyed their apple dessert that has a cookie, apple, mousse, and two or three other variations of apple to go onto the dessert.“

We were looking at the outside menu when he came out the door to service a sidewalk table and asked if we were going in as he held the door for us. When we said we were undecided, he said we should because it was the best food in Georgetown and that he had a great table for us right in the window. We all agreed that we should. The food was good. My steak, which I ordered medium rare came out medium well, but it tasted so good that I told Hoshi I would eat it anyway. I had the hibiscus margarita, which was amazing and was even topped with a hibiscus flower which was edible.“
“We loved Jaleo and we think Jose Andres is wonderful - all his other restaurants and his humanitarian work-- but unfortunately we didn't love the food at Spanish Diner (apart from the croquettes & bread). It might just be that Continental/Spanish food is generally not to my taste. The gazpacho had cream and a slight bitter note; I prefer the tomato-colored light refreshing gazpacho that I've had elsewhere. The garbanzo and spinach stew was only okay, a bit bland; I plan to add spices to the portion I brought home. The other dish we ordered - roasted chicken - also didn't pop. The preparation of the food was well done; we just wanted more flavor. On the other hand, service was spot on and the atmosphere is nice.“
