“Jinya was my older sisters favorite restaurant. 13 friends and I gathered together in honor of her at the mosaic location . Our server was Michael. He was exceptional, really attentive and super sweet! Two of our friends had mistakenly gone to the Reston location so when I ordered their food it was cold, Michael told them he would check if they could bring out two new/hot bowls of ramen. That was so sweet of him!Definitely will be coming back here throughout the year with the group. Really exceptional service they have here.“
“Carlos was the best bartender and the food was deliciousParking: The parking is free on the street which is wonderfulKid-friendliness: You can also bring your family and friends as well. The food is great with vegan choices and my favorite is the spicy chicken ramen if you like to eat meat?“
“Well simmered broth. Large portion. It's part of JINYA Holdings so you know the quality is consistent. The setup at location has the feel of a sport bar on the bar side adjacent to the food court. Though dimly lit, it had a nice ambiance and not too loud.“
“So glad I got to try this location! I’ve had Jinya in Atlanta before, and this location is just as amazing. I’ve tried the Spicy Tonkotsu and the Spicy Umami Miso. Both were so flavorful! They have a lot of seating space both a downstairs and a second floor dining room— came for a Sunday lunch with a friend and had no wait, even though they were actually pretty busy inside. Would highly recommend!“
“I haven't really been blown away by ramen in the past, but I really loved it here!Couldn't find it at first because it was at basement level, but the atmosphere feels very intimate, clean, and nice! Mainly focuses on their ramen, other than their alcohol and appetizers, but that just means that they really work on the quality of the ramen. My family got the Tonkatsu Mild, Spicy Miso, Sakuramen, and the Toritori. I chose level 6 for the fireball in the Spicy Miso and it was a good level of spice. It's not enough to where you can't taste the flavor of the broth anymore and only feel the spice. The Tonkatsu Mild was flavored really nicely and I liked it a lot. I'd like for the Sakuramen to be a bit more flavorful, but it's a good veggie option and my mom liked it. Lastly, my favorite was the ToriTori. I was apprehensive at first since it was chicken but I loved it so much. The broth was rich and slightly sweet. The chicken was also cooked really well and still juicy. And for all the ramens, the noodles were really nice! I preferred the thin straight noodles over the thicker ones though. At the end, they packed my leftovers for me and gave my little sister a complimentary strawberry mochi ice cream. You should definitely come, the workers were really sweet!Vegetarian options: If you're vegetarian, you'll be able to eat here with your friends but it's definitely not vegetarian focused.Parking: I paid for a parking garage but it was very tight and full. I also came on a Tuesday night at 5pm.Wheelchair accessibility: Basement level so you'd need to take the stairs and it's quite tight :(“
“When I was hosting friends from out-of-state and wanted to impress them with a delicious array of food, I called Rawr. The sushi platters were a hit (fantastic 4 and out rawr) and so was everything else: gyoza, spicy miso Ramen, chicken teriyaki Don, pork katsu curry, and miso soup. Our friends loved it, and I was so thankful to Rawr for delivering an absolutely outstanding and impressive spread. Rawr is the best!“
“Finally a really standout great place to eat in the DMV. This ramen was spectacular & the service was above and beyond. You can tell how much they care about the craft here. We just recently moved to NOVA and haven't found a place we want to eat at again...until now. I had the spicy miso ramen and I thought the spice level was just perfect. I practically drank the broth clean out of the bowl. The bathroom is also the coolest little bathroom I've ever been in. The server & chef came several times to check on us and even offered some samples of new items they're going to release soon. It made our visit very special.“
“This place is definitely not what it looks like from the outside. You should try it, they have amazing, authentic ramen. And guess what? They don't even give you forks! ? I had the veggie ramen and my partner had the spicy veggie ramen. Both were super flavorful but not too much.“
“Fresh rolls, delicious drinks, an attentive waiter, and the restaurant's clean and modern interior decor make for a great dining experience. I will definitely return to try more!Parking: Plenty of free parking as it's located in a shopping plaza.“
“Ramen is great on a cold rainy day, but the real MVP hidden gem is the $8.99 chicken karaage, which is one of the top chicken dishes in town-- up there with El Pollo Rico's Peruvian chicken, GPB's fried chicken, and a couple other “
“I really enjoyed the food. Healthy and clean. I’ve been going to this restaurant over a year and I would recommend it to my friends. The staffs are also very friendly. However, recently I noticed the portion of the bowl become smaller and I couldn’t get enough to eat…for $16/meal…I also noticed there’s a new staff around, maybe that’s the reason it’s changed??“
“I went to YamaChen Sushi for the first time and it was everything I was craving for and more. The 2 for 1 sushi roll combo were a reasonable price and even more delicious. The staff was wonderful. So wonderful that I would return to this place solely based off the kindness and welcoming nature of the staff. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. I can’t wait to return!“
“The owner was really nice. The gimbap was perfectly wrapped. Rice was nice and thin with lots of filling. The pork katsu was crispy and the pork was tender. The sauce tasted really great. This is a very unassuming place with high quality food.“
“My partner and I visited Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas on the evening of Monday, March 11, 2024. The host was prompt and friendly, seating us at the bar. We tried the Gyoza, Gin Ramen, and Red Curry Ramen—all of it was not only delicious but also visually appealing. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, making our dining experience very enjoyable. We're looking forward to returning for their happy hour (both drinks and food very nice prices). I highly recommend this spot for a delightful dining experience.“
“Some of friends recommend me this place. I am so excited to try and it isn’t regret. The decorations are so lovely with traditional Japanese Sakura and clean … i am so surprising that they have beep spicy noodles soup that i haven’t get for long time .i am so happy that i try it and it makes me don’t disappointed … also they service here very good … one of they lady who is very professional serve us …she gave us the Mochi ice cream for my dessert . it tastes super delicious. Everything was perfect and highly recommended for this place“
“Revisited for Jiro Ramen.I increased the rating one star. They did good job of making Jiro ramen. The taste was good and it is good to enjoy Jiro ramen here in this area. Very rare opportunity. However, I ordered Mt. Fuji Jiro which costs about 10 dollars more than the normal Jiro, and I was expecting that Mt. Fuji Jiro would be equivalent to Jiro with 'Mashi Mashi' vegetables etc. however, Mt. Fuji Jiro's portion was quite disappointing. It would have been better ordering the normal Jiro with adding some toppings like bean sprouts etc. It's way pricy than Yume Wo Katare in Boston. Considering all these, yes I increased one star rating but it would not be enough to give 5-star. I wish they will offer another Jiro days and bring true Jiro spirit here (Jirorians (Jiro enthusiast) love and enjoy 'Mashi Mashi' portion)***********************************It is ok taste, not very bad. This shop does not have a parking so you should park at a parking lot nearby. The service was ok. It is a bit pricy but understandable because of its location. It says a real Japanese ramen which probably true, but I, born and raised in Japan, have never heard Zao ramen when I lived in Japan. I looked it up on google and it looks like Zao ramen (蔵王ラーメン) in Japan is not that popular (the rating is like 3 out of 5) and I totally agree with the rating (I do not know if this Zao in Bethesda is related to Zao ramen in Japan though).“
“as someone who’s had ramen in japan, this is the only place in america (that ive been to so far) that can even compare!! all of the food is so good and the bubble tea is a perfect companion!! the staff are also incredibly sweet and very accommodating. DEFINITELY try the tonkotsu ramen it’s sooo good ???“
“Eel had to be the best I've eaten! Service is top-notch. The restaurant has a very communal and welcoming atmosphere. The moment you take your first bite, everything fades away. For 10-17 minutes, the food will touch all 5 senses in a wonderful way. It's only after I've finished eating do I come back into being. Must try place for all the foodies“
“Best Mexican in the DMV. The people are nice and the food is nicer. Was serious comfort food that warmed my soul! Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Cheese only optionsParking: Has a parking lot in front but it's small. Total about 10 parks, so you're more likely to find street parking“
“I come here quite often when I am in the area to grab take out or get a delivery. Everyone working there is very nice and helpful and the food is fantastic as well. The fatty tuna is delicious and reminded me of the ones that I got in Tokyo and at Tsukiji market. This is my go-to place for sushi ? So if you are looking for a quality meal, this is your place!“
“Food wasn't bad... but I get really weird feelings when a Japanese restaurant misspells simple Japanese in their logo... I can't be the first to notice that they spelled ramen "んめーら" effectively "nmeera".“
“Best Sashimi and Chirashi don that you can find in the area. I ordered it almost once a week. I also shared it on my social media and recommend Kizuna to anyone who loves sashimi. The food is awesome! Chirashi is far beyond my expectation. Thanks for making such incredible chirashi don!!!!! Ramen is also tasty!“
“Went there for a quick lunch on a rainy Saturday. As a vegetarian, it’s hard to find good ramen that’s not over 20$… and sushi under the same damn roof. This place had both! And both were outstanding. I love spicy ramen so I requested for my vegetarian ramen on the menu to be kicked up a notch, and it hit the mark!!!!The sweet potatoes tempura rook was amazing as well. This might just be our new regular Saturday lunch spot. Can’t wait to go back. (Will upload pictures once I do)Vegetarian options: Ramen and sushi“
“The restaurant was a little busy and tables in the back where we sat were a little small. We ended up moving to the bar and after that everything was great. The crazy spider that I ordered was mild but very enjoyable. And of course the presentation is “
“This place sometimes has its off days, but it's the best consistent ramen in the area since Ramen Factory 42 closed. Good shio and army bowls, bibimbap, hashu chashu, and kaarageVegetarian options: vegetarian ramen is solid, but have to take out the fried mushrooms so they don't get soggy.“
“I took my family to try Kimen for the first time this past weekend. Overall, the experience was positive with a just a few minor quibbles. We ordered chicken karaage, which can be a good barometer for a Japanese restaurant’s commitment. While it certainly does not compare to the karaage we ate in Tokyo, it was pretty good. The meat was seasoned, but could have used more time in the marinade. The breading was basically just a dredge. We find this preferable to the overly thick “KFC” style you sometimes encounter. The issue was that the meat was drier and tougher than it should have been, yet there were still slightly wet spots of coating. The dish as acceptable, but compromised.I ordered the mazemen, ramen without the soup. It came with ground meat, garlic, ginger, scallions, and a raw egg yolk on top. It’s eaten bibimbap, or mix mix style. The flavor was good and intense and the noodles were springy with good chew. This dish was good.Another ordered the unagidon. She remarked that it was just good with the portion perhaps a bit on the small side. Somewhat understandable given that roast eel is an expensive item. The miso ramen is also another good test dish. Kimen’s miso ramen was quite good. The broth was rich and tasty, the noodles lively and fresh, and the pork plentiful and tender. If the rest of their ramen offerings score like this, it’s worth returning. The chicken katsudon was good. Neither outstanding nor disappointing. The meat was fresh and fried just right. Perhaps a bit too much shredded cabbage side. Two dishes came with miso soup, which was a bit disappointing for two reasons. Although the menu picture shows it containing diced tofu as is common, ours came with none. And the flavor was thin. Double the miso paste would have been more appropriate. Finally, the bowls and plates in which the food came in were all chipped heavily around the edges. Without exception. While a gentle nod to wabi sabi and the reality of a life properly lived, we felt the damage was a bit too extensive and one member could feel scratchiness or grittiness at the bottom of her bowl through her chopsticks. The decor is worth noting. All the walls were papered with what appeared to be pages from Japanese magazines or books and posters. It was very cool and provided much visual interest. There were also shelves with Japanese toys and tchotchkes. Delightful. In sum, Kimen was a mixed bag with a lean toward the positive. The flavor and textures were solid and enjoyable. The details were where there were some concessions. However, given that the staff was friendly and attentive, I think we’ll go back again to try some more eats.We also tried to upload photos.“
“I ordered two rolls to go and I can’t say much about the customer service provided but I took away 1 star because they didn’t provide chop sticks or any utensils with the order. The spicy tuna roll didn’t really standout to me and lacked flavorThe sushi rolls were pretty good. Sweet Potatoe roll with cream cheese is delicious! 1 dollar extra to add cream cheese, kinda ridiculous but it’s ok. The spicy tuna was ok! Just lacked flavor and it simply wasn’t all that good.“
“The place to go when you want to eat sushi! I usually eat salmon sushi, and I think it's reliable because it's fresh and the quality of the raw fish is good. The manager and staff are friendly, so I think I'll come here often ? It's a place worth visiting even if you don't like sushi because you can taste not only sushi but also a variety of Japanese food!++ I received a dessert as a service, and it was my first time trying it, but it was so delicious. This was a hidden dessert restaurant... .. It was a dessert called croissant pudding, and the combination of soft pudding and vanilla ice cream was a work of art. I think I would go back again and again just to have this.“
“We visited this location for the first time today, everything was amazing!! We loved the omurice and curry ramen. Service was exquisite as well and the general manager Fon was amazing and really made our visit worth while. Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone!!“
